Hey ya'll, it's Ender! I hope you're having a great day and I hope to make it even better with this new chapter! NOTE: I do not own Minecraft or any YouTubers mentioned, and really, I don't own anything except this story.
Chapter 10
It was a few days later that Jordan saw what he had been hoping to see since the start.
A dragon.
And not some small dragon like a Terrada or a Greywing. No, this dragon just had to be bigger than a mountain.
"Taylor!" Jordan gasped, his hand flying up to point at the sky. "Look!"
Taylor glanced up and his eyes widened. Soaring far overhead was a completely black dragon, with a wingspan bigger than Taylor could have ever imagined. It roared, shaking the earth even from so high up in the sky.
"Night-bolt!" Jordan cried fearfully, realising that they must be in danger by now. "We need to take cover!"
Checkers whimpered and he flickered, his ghostly shape disappearing for a few seconds. Taylor tried to grab his arm, but of course, Checkers was only a spirit.
"Follow me!" Taylor snapped. Checkers blinked and stared at Taylor fearfully before running after him. "Jordan! Come on!"
The Night-bolt roared and beat its wings heavily against the wind. Storm clouds massed under its gigantic wings and lightning crackled through the sky, which was turning grey from rapidly forming cloud cover. Blue and white electricity crackled over its scaly black hide and it opened its mouth, ready to shoot what could be thousands of lightning bolts at Taylor and his friends.
But then another dragon saved them.
A small purple-grey dragon swooped over the head of the Night-bolt, roaring furiously despite being less than a fourth of the size of the bigger dragon. The Night-bolt snapped its mouth shut and flew farther up into the air, the smaller dragon whizzing around it faster than the wind. Taylor, Checkers, and Jordan watched the two dragons as the Night-bolt furiously tried to swipe the smaller dragon out of the air, but kept missing because of the weight and size difference.
"It's a Winchester," Jordan breathed, watching the purple-grey dragon with wide eyes as it darted around the Night-bolt. "I thought they were afraid of the larger dragons."
But that was clearly not the case, seeing as how the Night-bolt finally gave up its attack and flew away, giving one final, angry roar at the victorious Winchester. The Winchester roared back, the noise filled with triumph, and glided swiftly down to the ground, landing several meters away from Taylor and the others.
The dragon was quite handsome – no doubt about that. Its face and underbelly were a shining black, and its paws were a dark red, almost blood coloured. Its scales were purple-grey, but it had a dark red ridge of spines on its back that split into stripes on its tail. But what was most shocking of all was that it had two blood red eyes and markings that almost looked like blood trails running down its cheeks.
It shook its head, ruffling up small spines that framed its narrow face and raised one red-splotched hind paw to scratch its hide. It then turned to look at Taylor, slender neck twisting around easily.
It growled when it saw the amulet, spines bristling angrily. Taylor's eyes widened and he tensed up, ready to run away if need be, though he was pretty sure the Winchester could catch up to him by flying.
'That dragon… he seems familiar. I don't know how or why, but he seems familiar.'
'Great. Is there any way you can help me with this?'
'Um… yeah. Never fight a dragon.'
'Thanks. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.'
The dragon growled again and flared his wings, which were dark red with black webbing. Jordan gasped and took a few swift steps back, away from the dragon. Checkers flickered again, hopping nervously from one foot to the other.
Then the dragon suddenly stilled. His wings settled back down against his body, and the spines on his head flattened. Taylor relaxed only slightly as the dragon tilted his head curiously, staring at Taylor with his solid red eyes.
"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" The Winchester rumbled, taking a step forwards. To Taylor's surprise, Jordan also took a step forwards.
"Ingles?" Jordan asked the dragon, speaking in what sounded like a throaty growl. The dragon turned to face Jordan and blinked.
"It's been a long time since a human has spoken in my language," Taylor jumped, surprised that the dragon was able to speak in human tongue. The dragon's voice was heavily accented and surprisingly deep, considering his small size. "But I'm being rude - my name is Waglington."
"My name is Jordan," Jordan introduced himself to the dragon, bowing politely. "And these are my friends Taylor and Checkers."
Taylor and Checkers also found it fitting to bow under the piercing gaze of Waglington the dragon and so they did.
"It is not safe in the Nether King's realm," Waglington growled. "You should turn back."
"We can't," Taylor started to explain. "We have to destroy this amulet in the lava pools of Trodeyn."
"You're going to destroy it?" Waglington perked up, raising his wings. Then, his blood red gaze became distracted and he focused on something behind Taylor. Taylor turned around and saw a white-tipped fox tail vanishing into a shallow hollow in the ground. He turned back around to see Waglington less than three meters away, staring at Taylor intensely.
"Come with me," Waglington whispered, "The Nether King approaches fast. I can take you to a place of refuge where he cannot find you. You will be safe to continue your journey – as long as he does not arrive in Trodeyn before you."
"Will you carry us?" Jordan asked curiously. "We cannot keep up on foot – not with the speed of a dragon such as yourself."
Waglington ruffled up the frills on the side of his head with pride and he glanced over at Jordan. "Yes, I shall carry you, young Dragon Master. You and your friends should not hinder my speed by much."
Jordan's eyes lit up when Waglington called him 'Dragon Master' and he didn't hesitate to climb on the Winchester's back when he knelt down. Checkers got on next with Taylor in the back.
The spiny ridges on Waglington's back acted as carved-out seats and Taylor gripped the red ridge as Waglington stood up. He was right in between the dragon's leathery wings and feared that he would be whisked away on the wind if he wasn't careful.
"Hold on tightly, young humans. We have a long flight ahead, for the Nether King's realm extends for many, many wing-lengths," Waglington growled, then took off into the air, cutting into the sky with breath-stealing speed. Taylor screamed – he didn't know if it was out of joy or terror; possibly both.
Taylor held on to Waglington's spiny back until his knuckles turned white, always aware of the barely beating wings on either side of him and the narrow purple-grey tail behind. They were flying for hours, the landscape beneath them always the same dark grassy plains as before. When the sun started to touch the horizon, Waglington fell into a slightly slower glide.
"You should try to sleep now. I will wake you once we reach our destination, or if something happens," Waglington murmured, his deep voice making it seem like his whole body was vibrating. Taylor nodded drowsily and leaned forwards, draped over Waglington's ridged back. Jordan did the same, while Checkers stared straight ahead, not needing sleep.
But Taylor should have known that he wouldn't get to sleep for long, because the smell of smoke had already tainted the air.
#TeamWaglingtonFTW!
Random Observation: I think Wag's MC skin was just MADE to be a dragon!
ironhideandratchet4ever: *heart*
Phoenix-Magic: No, Tanek is actually one of the better ones. It's Checkers' amulet that you have to watch out for.
RusYRP: I think I actually will call him that from now on! XD
DiamondOasis37: "INCONCEIVABLE!" XD
PurpleSnow10: Yeah, I usually watch the Fyre guys stream, but no, I don't know what Sword Art Online is. The name sounds familiar but I don't recall where I heard it from.
OstrichLord4Lyfe: Thanks!
