Chapter 10: The Last Gorgon
Ianto and Rose walked the Cardiff streets in search of Pan's last Gorgon. All of downtown had been transformed into a forest of human statues by the mythical beast.
"I don't think there's anyone left." Rose said. "Maybe the Gorgon moved on."
"It's our job to make sure that thing can't hurt anyone ever again. We owe it to all these people and to Jack. Don't give up." Ianto passionately said.
The duo walked silently through Cardiff for another twenty minutes without success.
"Maybe we should just go back to the hub." Rose suggested. "There's probably something there that can help us find it."
"Shhh!" Ianto said. He heard a sort of shriek in the distance.
"What?" Rose asked.
"I heard something." Ianto said.
Ianto and Rose silenced themselves in an attempt to hear whatever Ianto thought he heard before. After a few seconds, they both heard the shriek coming from inside a hospital that was nearby. Ianto and Rose rushed inside to find a statue of a nurse standing in the lobby. Next to her, was a tall red-eyed Gorgon.
"Hey!" Ianto shouted.
The Gorgon then hastily turned to look upon it's next two victims. Both Ianto and Rose immediately fired their special lightning guns and hit the Gorgon, killing it.
"We did it!" Rose shouted.
Rose and Ianto then embraced in a hug.
"Excuse me." A voice called to them.
Rose and Ianto ended their hug to address the voice. They saw that the nurse had been returned to normal and was no longer a statue.
"What's going on?" The nurse said.
"It's hard to explain." Rose said.
She then ran outside and was promptly followed by Ianto. They were delighted to find that Cardiff was no longer a city of statues and that everyone was now human again. Rose and Ianto then dashed back to the hub, where they hoped to find Captain Jack Harkness.
