This is my twelfth story. It's more of my idea behind the quotes, actually. I hope you will get a few laughs out of it.
All Bella's POV.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Twilight series, but I wish I did.
We stood in the same meadow as that day when meeting the wolves was necessary to protect the town from the small army of newborns Victoria created. Now, however, meeting the wolves had a new reason. A small army of Volturi was coming, though much larger and more sophisticated than the newborn's.
The need to explain to the pack what we were facing, as well as get them on our side, was of most importance today. My family alone could not do a single thing but lose his or her being as well as my own. With the pack, we could at least make a dent before losing everything. I smirked. This was quite a mess I had created.
"This is not something our treaty anticipated. This is a danger to every human in the area."
I cringed at his tone. We both knew this was my fault. It was a danger, and I was bringing it. Me and my darn humanity. Every single person, Charlie, my friends, and all my other peers and their families were at risk. Furthermore, time had run out. Even if the pack did agree to overlook one small bite, we didn't have the three days needed to turn me into a vampire – not that Edward would agree to it if we could. The Volturi were an immanent, and deadly problem that would not end well.
Taking note of my action, Edward held me closer. He knew as well as I did getting the pack on our side was not going to be easy. Moreover, his mind grasped the concept of just how deadly the Volturi would turn out to be; he just wouldn't admit it. However, I had picked up on his unconscious displays of fear. More and more of the kisses were becoming like those when James was after me – like they were the last kiss.
"It's her fault," Sam said, announcing his obvious thoughts.
Despite the warning growls from Edward and Emmett, Sam stepped forward and took me in his grip. I deserved the punishment – any punishment – and took it gratefully while the others were held back. It was painful, but I didn't make a sound.
The worst pain was the one I felt for Edward. He had to stand aside and watch me accept suffering. I knew it hurt him more than it could ever hurt me. He loved me and would not overlook Sam laying a single finger on me.
"You'll hurt her. Let her go."
Seth's name rolled off the lips of an all-too-familiar voice. If Edward couldn't help right now, he hoped Seth would be strong enough to step in and protect me. Suddenly, I was being pulled by another set of arms.
"It's your fault! You leech. You did this to her!" Jacob spat.
I tried to call out Jacob's name, tell him it wasn't. The Volturi would not be coming if I had been changed, or didn't exist for that matter. It was my fault – not Edward's.
"I'll kill you myself! I'll do it now!"
I looked into Sam's eyes, seeing a reflection of Jacob's sudden change. As a human, my Jacob was a good friend – always willing to help. As a wolf, he was beautiful – at least as graceful and amazing as the vampires.
He charged towards my family, putting him out of sight of my current location. I wished I could call him back to me, but the pain from Sam and Seth kept me from speaking. Instead, I just lied there, dead, not willing a single part of me to thrash out or respond, because I knew I deserved this.
"Sam, please," Seth's strangled voice called from behind me.
As a pair of arms released me, I fell backward onto Seth and rolled over onto the ground. There, I curled into a ball to hide my tears and try to escape what was happening around me.
Escape was impossible. We had just less than two days until the Volturi arrived. The wolves may fight, but they will not appreciate my family. Every human from here to Port Angeles was at risk of death by Volturi hands or teeth. Jacob was attacking Edward. All my fault.
And so ends the last chapter of the quotes. I certainly hope you liked how they turned out. It was quite fun to write.
