"Well, that was fun!" Draco said.
Harry grinned mischievously at Draco. "Yeah, because you saw Hermione like that."
Draco blushed. "NO! It was because I got to play with you all."
"Yeah, right. I DEFINITELY believe you." Harry said sarcastically.
"Good to see that you do." Draco spoke, purposely ignoring the sarcasm.
"Oh come one! It was pretty obvious that you were drooling all over Hermione."
Draco blushed even more. "I don't get it."
"How thick can you get?" Harry muttered. "I'm saying that you like Hermione."
"Wait, what?"
"YOU LIKE HERMIONE!" Harry bellowed.
"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT?" Draco bellowed back.
"By the obvious drooling, blushing and eager closeness to her." Ron said. "Now listen, son. Hermione is my best friend, and I will have you know that if she can't see that you like her, we can."
"But I don't-" Draco couldn't get himself to finish it, because he knew he would be lying to himself.
Malfoy's don't lie.
"Like Hermione?" Ron spoke. He laughed. "Save it."
"B-But.." Draco attempted to deny it, but could he? Draco had opened up to these guys pretty easily. He knew he could trust them, and he had become a lot more expressive. It was hard for him now, to become completely expressionless and deny everything. He had admitted to himself, or asked himself, rather if he loved Hermione. He loved her laugh, her expressions, her disapproval of the trouble the boys got into, her very selfless caring self, her sympathy, her helpful-ness, her...everything. Her smile. Her eyes; especially her eyes. Those simple, beautiful, kind brown eyes. She was also very unconventionally pretty; beautiful, actually.
If he denied it, he would be lying to himself.
Malfoys don't lie.
"Oh, fine. I like her. A lot. Because..." Draco trailed off because if he told them why he did, the would call him a lovesick puppy. He was not a lovesick puppy.
He was a smiling, doting, lovesick dog.
A BIG DOG.
"Wake us up when you've finished with the list." Ron said, smirking. Even though he had liked her in their fourth and fifth year, he had gotten over her this year. She was only a friend to him, his best friend. Almost his sister.
"Come on!" Draco thwacked Ron. "The list isn't that long." He said. The boys shook their heads disbelievingly, clearly not taking any of ridiculous stuttering.
"Draco, mate, we know that she likes you. " Harry spoke.
"How? Who has she really liked these past years?" Draco asked.
"Look, we all know that with Krum, it was only a one-sided relationship. So... I think she really likes you." Harry replies.
"Also, we've been friends with her for more about six years now, I think we'd know if she liked anyone." Ron helped Harry.
"Oh, alright. It's just that...she's just so cool about it all. I don't know if she likes me or not..." Draco trailed off, and for the first time, he was unsure about a girl.
Draco was never really unsure about any girl. He knew Pansy literally drooled over him, simpered and she was just too...smothering. He needed space, and he didn't think that she understood, even when he'd told her. So, he just strayed away from her. He knew he'd rather do it slowly and gradually, so that it wouldn't hurt Pansy once he'd say he didn't fancy her. He didn't really like to hurt people's feelings, especially a girl's feelings.
So much for the Slytherin Bad Boy.
"Come on! Hermione-"
"Stop." Hermione said showing Ginny her palm. "Just because he has a good physique, it doesn't mean I like Draco. I merely happen to have an eye for eye candies." Hermione winked.
Ginny was surprised. She never thought that Hermione had this side to her. "Yeah, but sometimes you fancy them."
"Sometimes."
"Maybe I'm implying that this is 'sometime'."
"Oh, come off it!" Hermione laughed.
"Oh?! Remember when you once told me that he could be loved?" Ginny looked at Hermione smugly. Hermione paled, recalling that memory.
"He's very sweet, once you get to know him. According to me, he is actually quite smart, he just never really participates in class much. He has the basic idea of everything, he's quite quick on picking up on hints, unlike many like other boys. Also, he's really…cute. He has a mischievous glint in his eyes and always kept his sense of humour intact. But he isn't just funny, he's also serious, romantic, playful, caring and sensitive, the whole lot, but only when the situation demands him to be so which is quite nice actually. Yeah, he's not perfect, but nobody is. Imperfect people are very much worth loving…" She rambled on and blushed profusely at Ginny's knowing smirk.
Well, this was embarrassing. Curse Ginny's elephant-like memory!
"Ugh. Fine then. I like Draco. Anything else to prove?"
"Nope. Just had to get this out of you." Ginny replied, grinning from ear to ear.
Looked like the boys and her were going to have a little chat.
