Melia's Secret: Chapter 10
Last time:
"Gomen." Konan-sama and Pein-sama seemed surprised to see Itachi appoloigize.
Konan-sama also seemed amused and impresed with the whole situation.
"Well it's clear you have potiential Melia-san."
"I agree Konan-chan but what would you suggest?"
"Well if Melia-san and Itachi-san are fine with it then maybe we could ask you to have a spar with the other members. It'd only be a tai-jutsu match of coarse. This way we can see her abilties and see where the others need to improve."
"I'm alright with the idea."
"Alright, let's get this over with shall we?" Itachi said as he sighed
"We'll have her face you three then."
"Konan-sama?"
"Yes Itachi-san?"
"Melia already beat Deidara-san, and she had a ken-jutsu spar with Kisame-san. It was a light spar but still she lost."
"I thought she held herself well though. Your sister is something."Kisame-san turned to Itachi as he spoke
"Your sister is very talented Itachi-san. Perhaps you and her can have a spar."
'No sharingan' I could hear him think as we met in the middle of the room.
I start by charging in with a kunai in hand. Itachi counters with a kunai of his own. I back flip and land a few feet away. I throw a few shruiken towards him. He dodges or deflects them and appears behind me. I drop down and kick upwards into his stomech. He blocks with his arm before throwing a punch. I put both my hands on the ground and blocked with my leg. I used my hands and Itachi's grip on my legs to turn myself bringing Itachi foward and throw him onto the ground. He landed and imedately kicked himself into a backflip. He charged me with a kunai and I pulled out my own. He came at me then appeared behind me before I could blink. I couldn't even tell when or how he did it. He put a kunai to my throat, feeling the cold metal, seeing the darkness of the hideout I did something that made even Itachi nervous. Screamed, I screamed till it hurt and started to cry. I heard otou-sans voice and cried out the people I wanted. "Otou-san! Itachi! Shisui! Help me."
Itachi's POV...
I heard her cry and grew nervous. What in the hell is wrong with her? I heard her continue to cry and wrapped my arms around her dropping the kunai. I held her and when she cried for nii-san and otou-san I started to think on what could scare her this bad. There's no thunder or lightning so that's not it. It's a bit dark since it's...the middle of...the...shit. I finally realized why she was scared and holding her from behind wasn't going to help. I turned her around and held her with one arm. I used my other to make her look at me.
"Melia! Look at me. He's not here, the enemy is not here."
"I-Itachi-n-nii?"
"You're ok the enemy is not here."
"Don't let him hurt me again. Don't let him try to take me away."
"Sleep. I'll still be here when you wake up."
"What was that un?"
"Hey Itachi-san you alright?"
"Ya, I'm fine Kisame-san."
"Itachi-san why did she react like that?"
"Leader-sama it's a long story."
"We have time." Leader-sama assured me
"When she was little she constantly woke up at night and would go to my room so she could go back to sleep. One night I was on a mission out of the village with a man named Shisui, we booby traped our rooms because we didn't want anyone to mess with our supplies. My brother Sasuke is a year older than Melia and she hated waking him up since I usually got up at least once anyways she went to me or Shisui. But that night when she remember mine and Shisuis rooms were trapped she was alone. A man broke into the compound. He wanted revenge against me and ended up in Melia's room. He disguised him self as Sasuke then when she realized that it wasn't him he tied her up and put a kunai to her throat. I guess the conditions reminded her of it."
"That's messed up. So what happened to the guy?"
"My father killed him."
"I saw that coming un."
"Damn, just Damn." 'Is that all Kisame-san knows how to say?'
"She seamed happy earlier just sparring and with her smiling you'd never think she was almost kidnapped."
"Wait, an Uchiha that smiles?" Leader-sama asked
"Hai." I answered
"Is she really an Uchiha or is she adopted?"
"Leader-sama has a point Itachi-san."
"Leader-sama, Kisame-san I assure you Melia is my sister and she is blood related"
"Or is she?" the author spoke
"Would you shut up author and let the story keep going? And stop typing all this down!" I yelled back
"Fine. Je ne." and the author dissappeared.
"Melia is my family. The only blood realitave that I can see and doesn't hate me."
"Don't worry Itachi-san, I believe you. Though I don't believe that Kisame-san was telling the truth about her smiling."
Melia's POV...
"Why wouldn't I smile when I have Itachi-nii?" a voice came from behind
"You're up quick. You ok?" 'Really nii-san zero faith in my responsibilities'
"Hai. Please tell me you didn't tell that embarrassing story."
"Ya he did un." good ole Deidara-san always has to put his two cents in.
"Nii-san!"
"Gomen imoto."
Itachi's POV...
I did a soft smile and chuckle at her small pout.
"Who are you and what did you do to my partner?" Kisame-san asked while he, Deidara-san and, Leader-sama held sharp objects towards me. 'This will end well. Let's see Melias love of sharp objects plus all the weapons out equals...'
"Kisame-san you might want to put your weapon away unless..." I didn't get to finish as Melia was already holding everyone's weapons in her hands jumping happily. 'Knew it.'
"How do you always do that?"
She shrugged, the answer. Everyone looked over at her and their mouths droped.
"Itachi?"
"Hai, Konan-sama?"
"Has she always liked weapons?"
"Hai, she likes any form of sharp metal."
"She must be quite skilled to be able to get our weapons like that."
"Melia, give everyone their weapons back."
"No!" I looked at her puzzled. "They started it." she walks over to Deidara-san grabs his arm and throws him over her before twisting Kisame's arm behind his back threatening to break it.
"Melia, if you let him go I'll treat you to ice cream. But you also have to give them back their weapons." I mentally chuckled and heaved a sigh as she wasted no time releasing Kisame and giving people their weapons back. "Can we go now? Please please please?"
"Very well. Let's go." I walked with her out of the building when Konan-sama caught up with us.
"Please allow me to come with you besides I would love to learn more about Melia-chan."
Melia's POV...
"I'd love for you to come." I told her before Itachi started to get a nervous look on how to answer. We all went to an Ice cream shop just around the corner on the other side of the street, Itachi ordered a vanilla, I ordered a strawberry, and Konan-san got a chocolate flavored cone. When the man behind the counter saw Konan-san he gave the three of us the ice cream for free. We walked back eating our ice cream when it started to rain. Konan-san made a umbrella useing her special jutsu.
"Konan-sama, it'd be best if I brought Melia-chan back to Konoha soon. Otherwise Sasuke might start wondering where she is."
"I told you Sasuke doesn't care about me!" I had luckily finished my ice cream.
"Sasuke has hated me for months now." Itachi looked slightly guilty here
"What do you mean Melia-san." Konan-sama asked me
"Sasuke hates Itachi so when I told him I didn't he got real mad and started to yell at me, he said and I quote "If you can still care about that murderer then your not my sister. Good bye." He looked at me as if I was worth less than the dirt under our feet."
"I know what you need. Itachi-san go ahead and meet us back at the tower." Itachi looked at her then protectively at me then back to her. "I'll protect her, don't worry besides after the beating she almost gave you, and the win she has against Deidara-san I'd say she's capable of handling herself. Come on Melia-san."
"O-ok." I followed her two blocks east of us to a I don't know what it is. We walked in and it was amazing.
"This is Akatsuki owned. Pein-kun had it built for me to work off stress. There's a pool, obstacle course, training field, a bathroom and showers. There's some towels in a closet off the pool room, that's where we're going."
She walked down a hall and through the last door in the hall. Once we walked in I could see two pools. One was long the other was deep.
"You don't have to worry about any of the boys walking in. So we can just swimm."
We took off our shirts and pants and got in wearing only our underwear and she wore a bra. I didn't have any and luckily I didn't need one. The water was warm.
"So, I heard you've been living on your own. Wanna tell me what happened Melia-san?"
"You can drop the san stuff with me Konan-sama."
"Then you with me Melia-chan."
"Konan-san then?"
"Sure, now what happened?"
"After Itachi killed everyone I went to a place he and Shisui had built. I went there because everyone thinks I'm dead. I don't exist anymore. So I lived alone until one day Sasuke saw me and I asked him not to tell because I'd be questioned and I didn't want to answer any questions. I took care of the house. I was 7 years old and I've spent every year since wishing I could have both my brothers with me. I had to learn to cook, clean, and do everything by myself. I trained with my brothers, then I had to train alone. And when I got a message to Itachi and he came he didn't trust me to spar with Kisame-san."
"I can understand where you come from. You're strong and you've proven you can take care of yourself and you feel like he thinks you're weak. You just want him to see how you've grown."
"Ya, Sasuke and I were talking about some stuff and I reminded him of something we use to do together. I told him I wished we could go back to that time and he asked why. Our Otou-san never really acknowledged neither Sasuke's nor my skills and abilities. Then he started to say it was better now after Itachi killed everyone so we couldn't be lead on again. So we couldn't be hurt again. I told him I wasn't mad at Itachi and I still care for him, you know how that turned out."
"You stayed loyal to Itachi. Why?"
"He's my brother. He's always been there and when it comes to family I have a rule. That no matter what they do or what they say, I'll love and protect them anyway. Itachi and Sasuke are my brothers we've always watched out for each other."
"You really are a family. Pein-kun and I have been together since we were kids. We protected each other. He, and Yahiko-kun were like family to me. They were the closest thing I ever had to one. Then during the last war Yahiko-kun died. It wasn't Pein-kuns fault but he blamed himself."
"Gomenasai. I didn't know."
"It's alright. Why don't we get out and practice. We have a place to practice using a bow."
We got out, dried off and got dresssed. We headed to a part that had a target set a few meters away. I grabbed a bow and some arrows and shot the bullseye.
"Konan-san? Do I have to hold back? Should I hold back?"
"No. Why would you have to hold back?"
"So I don't break everything I hit."
"I doubt you could throw that hard. Go ahead, go all out."
I threw a kunai and it went right through the dummy and into the wall.
"I asked if I should have held back. I added a little chakra once and learned it can do that."
"Don't worry I can have that fixed later. Let's head back after a shower. But for now have fun."
A half hour later..
Itachi's POV...
"She should have been back by now. It's been two hours."
"Relax Itachi-san. They'll be up in a minute."
They walked through the doors slightly wet. Melia walks up and hugs me in front of everyone.
"I love you Itachi-nii."
"I love you Melia. Now I have to get you back."
"I don't wanna go back yet."
"Melia-chan don't worry, I'll make sure your bother goes to see you. And you can come here anytime."
"Arigato Konan-san."
"Just don't tell anyone about us. Maybe one of these days we can come over your place."
"I'd like that alot."
"Grab your bag Melia-imoto."
"Fine."
Melia's POV...
I was ready in a matter of seconds. I was originally expecting to be a couple weeks at least. But it'd only be a week till I was back at the cabin, alone. I saw Itachi-nii with his bag ready, I guessed Kisame-san and Deidara-san weren't coming with us.
"It was fun meeting you all." I said as I turned to see them again. I finally turned to Itachi-nii.
"I have to talk to Konan-sama, and Leader-sama for a minute meet me at the door. I walked to the door wondering what that was about.
Itachi's POV...
I turned to speak with Leader-sama, and Konan-sama.
"I have a request if I may speak."
"Oh. What is it Itachi-san?" Konan-sama asked
"Melia's birthday is coming up, I was hoping for permission to return to her in a few months to wish her a good birthday."
"Granted."
"Konan-chan?"
"He's a big brother Nagato-kun. A Big Brother to her. She is the only family he has that doesn't care about what he's done, will keep us a secret, and wasn't scared of Kisame-san for his scales."
"Hey!"
"Do you have a problem Kisame-san?"
"No Konan-sama." Kisame-san kept his mouth shut after that
"He's her big brother. She still consiters him family after all he's done like you are to me. You can be mad all you want but let him try to stay with his family."
"Hai Konan-chan."
"Arigato Konan-sama."
"Go don't keep her waiting. Be back in a few days."
I left to catch up with my little Melia. Though I'm not sure if I can even call her that anymore. She's not so little and I've missed so much. I'm not a good nii-san to her.
"Ready?" I asked
"Hai!" So we took off. We made it to the boarder to the Land of Fire faster than it took us to get to Ame because Melia didn't have to hold back and we could just run through most of the night. I vaguely realized that she didn't complain during the trip. A few years ago I would have had to play a game or something to get her back home safe. We took the tunnels back.
Melia's POV...
When we were in the tunnels Itachi took a different path than before and we ended up in... Of coarse what else a secret under ground training room. Only Itachi could have thought about adding this in.
"Let me guess, your idea?"
"Hai. I thought it'd be a good idea never knew it'd actually come in handy. I can't risk going above ground so soon to show you this since it requires me to jump high up. People would notice no matter if we're surrounded by woods on all sides or not." I watched him gather some kunai in each hand. He walked to the center of the room I noted the target boards on all sides of him. He jumped up and started to fall down head first he threw one kunai from both hands hitting two of the targets. Throwing two more they bounce off the various tree stumps back towards him. He threw two more bouncing them off eachother into four more targets. Passing a kunai from his left hand to his right behind his back he threw them hitting the last two targets.
"Your turn. Use your sharingan to help you, try to keep your balance and if one gets too close I'll deflect it."
"Ok." I walked to the center, jumped and when I tried to hit the same angel Itachi did I hit it but it came too fast. I grabbed a kunai and started to bring it to a defence position but Itachi threw a shuriken that caught the kunai so it was hanging off the wall. Itachi caught me and let me try a few more times. I messed up the next 15 times before we called it quits.
"My little Melia. I have to go."
"I'm gonna miss you."
"Do me a favor and wait until I come by again to practice that technique. Ok?"
"Fine." we hugged, he jabbed my forehead and disappeared.
I went to my room and removed the kunai from the window. I went to the bathroom and took the longest shower in the history of showers. I hadn't gotten to bathe since I left and I wished I could have stayed with Akatsuki. I didn't want to be alone again but when you're me and you've been alone for so long you don't want to be with people, but you don't want to be alone. I shut off the water and changed into a black tanktop, a dark blue coat with a hood over it. I'd have to invest in some mesh at one point or another. I put on a pair of dark blue shorts and walked out. I grabbed my sword and put on Itachi's old gloves that I'd been wearing for years now. I headed out back to practice. After sword practice I practiced with a bow. I hit the bulls eye every time. It was lunch but as usual I didn't feel like eating, remembering the boy I usually leave food for I cooked some rice, made a salad, and some barbecue pork. I wrapped it up, pulled on my hood and left. I had been gone a week and I knew I'd have to clean alot of dust. I reached Naruto-kun's apartment and left the food on the door knocking before I left. I watched as he opened his door and looked down. He picked up the food and walked in. I smiled as he smiled seeing the food. I went home and cleaned. I finished by dinner and cooked for Naruto-kun and Sasuke-nii. I droped the food off to Naruto last. I was surprised when just before I could set the food down he opened the door. I stood there looking at him holding the plate in my hands.
"Wait? Why don't you come in for a minute?"
I wasn't sure but I still nodded and walked in as he moved to the side allowing me entry.
"Are you who has been cooking for me the past few years?"
"H-hai."
"Arigato. But why would you do that for me?" I was nervous but I forced myself to stay and remember that he and I were almost friends. The time I saved him and Iruka-sensei in the woods, and that we went to the park after.
"B-be-because I-I've seen h-how everyone treats you, and h-how y-you just s-smile. I know it's h-hard for you to g-get a home cooked meal, s-so I decided t-to bring you some." he smiled
"Well now you don't have to keep leaving it on my door step. Hang on." he left to the other room and came back with a key.
"Here, now you can come here anytime and wait in here for me. Wait that came out wrong. I ment now you don't have to just leave the wonderful meals you make outside, and you can come in. You won't have to hide and maybe you could stay and have a meal with me? It's just I aways eat alone so I thought maybe if you came by if you want we can eat together and talk. I think it'd be pretty cool."
"I-I'd love to. Naruto-san."
"I guess you know my name already but lots of people do."
"I've heard some people yelling your name after your pranks."
"I figured as much. What's your name."
"M-Melia."
"That's a pretty name. Melia-san."
"No need to be so formal. You can drop the suffix with me."
"Melia-chan then."
"Eat up before it gets cold."
"Right. Itadakimasu."
He got two pairs of chop sticks. "You should eat too."
I took the chop sticks and ate a small amount of food. I had him eat most of it. He finished it up and washed the dishes.
"You can look around if you want. Sorry about the mess." I looked around a bit his house looked the same as the last time I was here. Maybe it'd be good if Naruto knew who I was.
"Naruto-san? I-I w-wa-wanna tell y-yo-you something."
"Drop the 'san' stuff. It's just Naruto."
"You-you know me-me from s-some-somewhere else. I-I used t-to-to go to t-th-the academy with you. I w-was in the same class with you." he looked confused but I could tell he trusted me.
"Ca-can you keep a secret, p-pl-please?"
"Hai. I promise what ever you tell me I'll keep it a secret. And I never go back on my word."
"You're a-a ninja right? And yo-you know Uchiha Sasuke." he nodded, I continued. 'It's now or never.' those are the words my nii-san said to me when I got nervous I prayed Naruto wouldn't hate me. "Well my surname is Uchiha. I'm Sasuke's imoto."
"What!? You're his sister?"
"I'm-I'm a year younger t-tha-than him. Do you hate me now?"
"No way! Why would I ever hate you?"
"Because of who my nii-san is, I-I kn-know you're not particularly fond of my brother. And also th-tha-that y-you and h-h-him have a-a-a small rivalry between you two."
"Well that's stupid." he started in a gentle voice as he looked at me. "You're brother can be an as- jerk at times so he makes me mad, but I'm not gonna take it out on you. How he is has nothing to do with you. You're pretty, and kind. Nothing like him. You said you went to the academy too right? I never remember seeing you but maybe you can tell me more?"
"I'd like that. I first met you the day the academy started..."
I told him everything from how he helped me out with that blonde girl 'Ino.' he told me to the back hills and Shishi-nii erasing everyone's memory of me.
"So if Sasuke is your brother how come he never goes to see you?"
"He's mad at me. He blames me in a way for what happened. He knows I still care for who did it and thinks I should just leave. He said he won't consider me his sister."
"So you've been living alone?"
"H-hai."
"You don't have to be nervous around me."
"G-gomen. I-I've always s-stu-studdered around people. E-except my nii-san."
"We'll work on that. But where've you been the past week?"
"Gomen. I-I've been camping." not a total lie I hadn't been home until today. And Itachi and I did sleep while watching the stars on the way back.
"Why don't you spend the night here? The couch folds out. It's a mess but it's better than being alone."
"I don't know."
"Come on I've never had a sleep over before."
"Alright. I have to get some cloths first."
"I'll go with you. It's not right of a gentleman to allow a young lady to walk alone at night."
"I'll be fine. I've done this for years now." I left out the door and once back at the house I packed two pairs of clean cloths and weapons.
I went to Naruto's apartment to see him cleaning useing shadow-clones? "Do you think maybe you can teach me? I can show you how to use a sword or walk on walls."
"You don't know the shadow clone jutsu?"
"I know the hand seals but I have a hard time actually preforming the jutsu."
"Alright. I'll help you and you'll teach me how to walk on walls. Now start with molding your chakra. Preform the hand seals and think of how many you want. Of what you want to do."
I was able to make at leat two clones after a hour and a half. "I got it!"
"How do you walk up walls?"
"Focus your chakra to the bottom of your feet. You might want to start by running at the wall first. But concentrate and..." I started to go up the wall and on the ceiling. Now it was his turn. He got partially up before falling back down. I caught his hand and held him up before he could wake up everyone below us. After a hour and a half he got up about 3/4 of the way. We decided to sleep since he had a mission tomorrow.
The next day...
I woke up and started to cook an omlate, baccon and toast. Naruto woke up just before I got the plates out and helped with the table. We ate did the dishes and he told me he'd be back by noon.
"I'm gonna stop by Icharaku ramen before old man Teuchi and Ayame-nee chan start thinking I was abducted."
"Ok. Meet me here after your done."
Sasuke's POV...
I woke up and checked the cabin Melia hadn't been there in over a week. She was usually gone for a couple days but never a week. I started to feel guilty for yelling at her. I didn't see the kunai in the window and searched around. I still couldn't find her and went to practice. We practiced throwing, had a few spars and then went to catch that damned cat. A wise man once said there's more than one way to skin a cat. My version is 'You cat from hell while I'm sure the sinners appreciate being far from you, I suggest you go back before I see how many ways I can skin you.' I've estimated we've caught that cat 4 times in the last 3 days. It at least pays well. I think most of the funding comes from the Dinamio paying the Hokage to keep taking missions to catch that cat. I decided to check the cabin again.
At the cabin...
"She's still not here?" I ran to the park hoping she'd be there. I was getting tired of this. "Who cares anyway? No one even knows she exists. No one cares about her."
Little did he know she was in a tree behind him and heard everything.
Melia's POV...
I went to the hokage monument after Naruto left. I loved how the village looked. I wished I didn't have to pull a hinge every time I went out but I couldn't risk anyone noticing my black hair and black eyes. Especially with all the bruises from training, that's why I always wear a long sleeve coat. If anyone ever saw my hair and eyes there'd be alot of questions asked. I went to the cabin after and even though I said I wouldn't I practiced what Itachi showed me I did. I was on my way out and I heard everything Sasuke-nii said. I ran into the forest after he left tears streaming down my face. This was the first time I'd cried since it rained that first night after saying good bye to Okaa-san and Otou-san.
Naruto's POV...
That Sasuke is such a jerk. He did nothing but criticize me. Either way at least his sister isn't like that. I went to Icharaku ramen and had 10 bowls. I decided to get something for Meli-chan. That way she won't have to cook. I went home upon not seeing Meli-chan I went to the park. Every one had gone home and it was quiet. I checked the woods and found her a half hour later.
"Melia-chan? What happened?"
"N-Naruto?"
"What happened?"
"S-Sasuke-nii. He said n-no o-one cared a-ab-about me just b-because no one knows about m-me."
"Come on." I grabbed her hand
"N-Naruto?"
"We're going to my place. I'll make some ramen for you." I picked her up and jumped to the roofs.
My apartment...
I pulled her inside, and sat her on the couch. I boiled water and pulled out two ramen cups. I pulled out some rice, pork and a skillet. I heated up another burner on the stove for the pork. The water was boiled so I put the rice in the pot and started another pot of water for ramen. I pulled out a large bowl and a plate. Flipped the pork and cut some into smaller pieces. I put the rest on the plate next to some dipping sauce. The rice was ready I strained the water and poured the rice into the bowl, adding the smaller pieces of pork with it. I mixed the contents of the bowl and opened the ramen cups. I poured the newly boiled water into the cups carefully. I turned to the doorway as I grabbed two pairs of chopsticks.
"Ready for dinner?"
"Hai! Arigato N-Naruto."
"No problem. We have miso ramen, pork fried rice and, pork with dipping sauce."
"Itadakimasu."
Later...
"Arigato Naruto."
"I'm just glad it came out good. Do you think you can teach me how to cook?"
"S-Sure."
"Oh, don't worry you can stay here the night again. I like having you over. Besides I did give you a key for a reason."
"A-alright. Now practice w-walking up w-walls again."
"Fine."
This time I made it all the way. We said goodnight and I told her she'd never go back to being alone if she didn't want to. That she could stay here for a while. She liked the idea, she fell asleep before I did. Before I fell asleep I thought of what she told me Sasuke said to her. Meli-chan watched out for me, I'm going to watch out for her. I got an idea for tomorrow but I doubt she'd like it.
AN: People are gonna hate me for leaving off here but I wanna go to the next chapter. Plus I don't know how long I can make these before Nara kills me.
