Hi. I'm extremely aware that it's been two and a half years since I last updated this story and you're probably wondering 'why now?' Well because I wanted to, that's why. I'm not in university anymore, I have a full time job, my very own house, I'm a proper adult (Peter would hate me!) But I promised I would never leave my fics undone and I don't mean to break that promise. So if you're new to this story, welcome to LucyMoon's 'when is she going to update next?' crazy life and if you're a returning reader, welcome back and I'm sorry you've waited so long for this. Please enjoy.
Thank you all once again for the amazing reviews.
Chapter Ten: Welcome Back
"...She should have woken up by now; I'm starting to worry."
"What does that even mean, Snapper? How long is a person meant to be passed out for after all their lost memories come rushing back to them?"
"I'm just saying, she's lying there like a dead fish. Maybe one of us should give her the kiss of life?"
"You'd like that, wouldn't you?"
"The hell is that supposed to mean? She's my girlfriend, of course I would!"
I groaned. "Dear God, can you all shut up for five minutes?"
Snapper gasped. "She's awake!"
My eyelashes fluttered relentlessly against my cheekbones before I fully opened them. My pupils blurred for a moment before focusing on five heads looking down at me. Was I on the ground? Tigerlily gave a sigh of relief and held out her hand. Gratefully, I took it.
Gingerly, I got to my feet and held me head. "Jesus, that hurt like a bitch. Does anyone have any aspirin?"
Tootles shook his head. "Sorry, Lucy, as you know this was kind of a last minute thing. We didn't think."
Snapper stepped forward. "I'm so glad you're okay, babe."
I glowered at him. "Don't 'babe' me, Snapper. You are in so much trouble from keeping this from me. But I'm not going to deal with you...yet."
I cast my eyes around the group before they landed on the one I was searching for. He was watching me with a wary expression, like he knew what was coming. Storming up to stand directly in front of him, I paused for a moment, before drawing back my hand and slapping him right across the face.
"Lucy!" Snapped yelled as the rest of the lost boys gasped in surprise.
"You bastard." I hissed, my furious eyes trained on him as he looked back at me, his cheek now bright red, his expression unreadable, "How dare you take our memories from us? You think you can play God? You think you can toy with our emotions...Wendy's emotions like this? This isn't a game, Pan!"
Peter grimaced. "Nice to see you again too, Andrews."
I growled at him. "You are one self-righteous dick, you know that?"
He shrugged. "You're vocabulary has improved, I see. Weren't saying bad words like that when you were fourteen, were you Andrews?"
I glared at him. "And you're still a scared and confused little boy, who doesn't know what he wants from life so all he does is run- or should I say fly away from his problems."
Peter faltered and glowered in my direction before turning his gaze to Tigerlily.
"Great, Tigerlily, just great. I told you this was a bad idea, I told all of you this would be a bad idea but did any listen to me? No. And now Andrews is being a complete and total bitch. I told you she wouldn't understand."
I snarled and lunged myself at the boy in front of me, only to be restrained by Snapper. "Let me at him! I'll rip his head off his bloody shoulders, I swear to God!"
Peter looked at Tigerlily pleadingly and the princess sighed.
"Lucy, please, this is getting us nowhere." She smiled gently at me. "I need you to calm down."
I frowned but quickly relented and shrugged Snapper off me.
"I'm not apologising for slapping that idiot. He deserved it." I stuck my tongue out at Peter and he rolled his eyes.
"Listen, Andrews. We gave you back your memories mostly because you overheard us talking about Neverland," I glared at him at this comment before he continued, "But also because we believe you can help us. The spell breaks at the end of the school year, which is in two months. The school just returns to being a normal school, except none of us will be in it. If Wendy is still with Hook by that time, who knows what will happen? We need to save her."
I had momentarily forgotten about Hook. I raised my eyebrows, suddenly amused. "So, just to be clear, the gorgeous, dark-haired James Hook of this school is actually old, one-handed, King of the pirates, Captain of the Jolly Roger, James Hook of Neverland?"
Peter nodded. "Unfortunately."
I whistled. "He should stay young. He looks so much better."
Peter glared at me. "Can we please stay on topic?"
I giggled sheepishly. "Sorry, do go on."
Peter took a deep breath. "We're running out of time, Lucy. If Wendy doesn't find out soon who we really are, I don't know what's going to happen. Can't you think of anything?"
I looked at Peter in exasperation. "What do you think I've been trying to do for the past couple of weeks, Pan? She's my best friend; of course I don't want her anywhere near that total creep. And now that my memories are back, I'm even more grossed out. Ugh." I shrugged off the rolls of disgust that were wavering over me. "But we need to get one thing straight once and for all." I paused, eyeing up the boy who never grows up. "Admit to everyone right here and now that you're in love with Wendy."
A collective gasp whispered through the group and the lost boys looked positively unholy with delight. Peter squirmed under my penetrating gaze.
"Why should I, Andrews? I told her two years ago. Why should I have to say it in front of all you now?"
"Because you knew she was going to forget anyway, Peter! I want you to say it, right now and confirm to me and everyone else that you're serious about this. And if you can do it, it'll prove that you truly love her and in which case, I'll help you."
Peter glowered at me but sighed dejectedly. "Fine." He paused, taking a deep breath at which point everyone leaned towards him to make sure they didn't miss it. "I...I'm in love with Wendy Darling."
The lost boys immediately erupted into cheers, while Tigerlily and the other Indians looked at Peter fondly. I crossed my arms over my chest and smirked at Pan.
"Only took you two years." I beamed at him and even though he tried to look annoyed, I could tell he had wanted to say that for a very long time and so returned my smile.
"So," Tigerlily began, her eyes alight with hope, "You going to tell us what the plan is?"
I nodded at her and motioned with my finger for everyone to come closer. As my eyes locked with Peter's, I grinned. "Here's what we're going to do..."
To be continued! I know it was short but I wanted to finally write something for this story and I did! So pleased with myself! Hope you enjoyed that chapter! Thanks for reading and if you really liked, review! Thanks, LucyMoon1992 x
