The dark version of Raven stood over her counterpart, who was trying not to let go and give in. "Don't get up, it will only make it harder. There is no way for you to succeed. The more you try to fight, the angrier you become and the more powerful I get." The clone rose into the air as black energy swirled around her body.
Raven backed away and gritted her teeth, continuing to fight against the pull of the clone, "I defeated my father once, and I can beat you just as easily." Raven stood up wearily, remaining defiant.
"Fine." The villainous Raven snarled, "Have it your way. If you want to fight, then I'll give you a fight!"
With those words, she opened up a black swirling void in the sky. Electricity shot out from the black hole and burned into parts of the Tower. Large spiraling pillars of lava shot up from the burning sea and entered the void.
Raven grabbed onto a piece of the roof that jutted up. Her arms barely held her as the suction from the hole in the sky intensified. The jagged piece of roof that she was gripping gave a loud POP and snapped off.
The empath released her hold of it and grabbed on to an exposed wire.

The Beast stalked around the side of the Tower, looking for the signs of his former teammate. He had followed her scent down to the bottom of the island that they lived on, but now it had gone cold. After a few minutes of wondering, his enhanced hearing picked out the sound of a muffled moan, giving him something new to follow.
He worked his way down to the shore and found that there were tracks, as if someone had dragged themselves across the beach. The sand next to the tracks was peppered with blood, giving the Beast further reason to continue.
Deep in the animal's mind, Beast Boy grew worried, fearing what was about to be presented to him. After a few minutes of walking, the boy's fears were proved to be valid when he found her. Raven lay across the ground, a pool of blood steadily forming around her. Her eyes were closed and her legs were twisted at an unnatural angle.
The hero felt relief wash over him as his friend exhaled slightly, showing that she was still alive. His relief was short lived however as the creature currently in possession of his body began to march towards her.
NOOO, Beast Boy mentally yelled as he fought against his predatory side. The Beast paid him little attention and continued forward when suddenly, its left leg locked up and it stumbled to the ground.
Both the beast and the boy were shocked at what had just happened, with the latter realizing he had caused the leg to stop. Now though, the animal knew to mentally block him off from control. Beast Boy fought against the mental barricades set up by the Beast, but he could not push through.
The green creature drew closer to Raven when Beast Boy was able to slow down its movements. He caused the muscles in its arms and legs to tighten, making them incredibly stiff. Now it was as though the Beast was traveling through thick mud to get to its prey when in reality, it wasn't any harder than before.
Still the Beast continued to drag itself forward. He was only three meters away when he dropped to his knees. Roaring in frustration, he began to claw his way across the ground, determined not to be stopped by the young boy in his mind. He finally reached the girl and raised his arms to strike.
Beast Boy gave it his all and forced the arm to remain suspended in the air. Small trickles of sweat slid down the Beast's face and into his fur as he tried to get the arm to drop. Finally, giving it his all, the Beast broke the hero's concentration, which allowed him to deliver the blow.
The young boy watched as the claws landed on Raven, crushing her head and ending her life. The Beast let out a long roar, marking his kill. He brought his hands up to look at the blood that covered them, relishing the rush of killing.
Waves of pain, anguish, sorrow and several other emotions washed over Beast Boy. He would have cried if he had physical eyes.
I'm so sorry Raven, Beast Boy thought, I couldn't save you. His sadness continued momentarily before it soon started to turn into bitterness and hatred. You did this, you monster. The Beast, which had been getting up to continue on its killing quest, stopped as Beast Boy's voice grew stronger. You did this, you killed them all. Why do you have to be a part of me? Why can't you just go away?!
The Beast felt something churning in his chest, as if something was rising up. I won't let you hurt anyone else! I will lock up so far back in my mind that I won't have to worry about you ever again! Beast Boy continued to fight against the savage monster mentally.
The Beast howled in pain as his brain started to throb from Beast Boy's onslaught. He dropped back to his arms and knees and felt his bones start to crack and shift. You're going down now! And once I am done, you'll be nothing but a distant memory! The world around the Beast started to shake and rumble as huge fissures opened up in the ground. Green, neon-like lights emitted from the fissures and the Beast continued to transform.
That's right, I'm getting back control. The boy broke the beast with a final mental push, and woke himself up from the nightmare.
A
Beast Boy's eyes opened and he shot up. Looking around, his memories all came back to him. Scarecrow, the fear toxin, Raven. He stopped on the last one, Raven might be in trouble too! Beast Boy transformed into a cheetah and prepared to take off. He hesitated and turned around; there was no telling how long he had been out, and the fear pump could start going any minute.
Beast Boy transformed back into himself and then into a gorilla. He grabbed the hoses that connected to the water line and pulled. They came loose and snapped back. The green gorilla threw them to the side and started to rip the machine apart.
Granted, Beast Boy wasn't as technically advanced as Cyborg, but he figured as long as he only ripped the wires and not the actual container, everything should be fine.
After Beast Boy deemed the machine properly destroyed, he raced down the tunnel, back up the ladder, and into the streets of Jump City. He opened up his communicator, entered a password, and set it to tracking mode. Cyborg put this mode into the communicators so that they could find each other in emergencies.
He transformed into a falcon and held the communicator in his talon. The green bird headed towards the little red dot that represented Raven's position.

Cyborg awoke to a splitting headache and a dark room. After his eyes adjusted, he was able to see the vague silhouettes of the Titan's T.V. and couch, which allowed him to draw the conclusion that he was in there living room. He sat up and rubbed his head, trying to remember what happened.
The others went to go stop Scarecrow except for Starfire and I. The power went out, and when I went to go fix it, I went into that crazy dream. But how did I get here?
Cyborg then realized something, Scarecrow used fear toxin, and the dream that he was in felt too real to be just that. But if I got hit by the fear gas, it could only mean…
A soft moan from the other side of the room broke the metallic hero from his thoughts. He activated his sonic canons, which had a built in flash light, and pointed at the source of the moan. Lying on the floor was Starfire, withering in pain.
Cyborg kept his sonic canon on his left arm active so he could see, but deactivated the right arm. He ran over to his teammate to see what was wrong. She appeared to be asleep, stuck in the same dream state that Cyborg had been in only moments ago.
Her eyes were shut tight and she occasionally would jerk due to whatever was happening in her mind. Come on Star, how are you still stuck in there? Cyborg wandered as he picked up the girl in his right arm.
He started to walk towards the door, arm canon prepped for an attack. He exited the door and continued down the hallway, wondering where Scarecrow was.
He eventually arrived at the infirmary, with no signs of the super villain anywhere. Looking over to the side he saw a table riddled with burns. A canister that Cyborg hadn't seen before lay on the other side of the room. Cyborg placed the alien princess onto the medical table and began running diagnostics. Meanwhile he walked over to the canister and picked it up.
He then looked back at the charred table and began to piece together what happened: Scarecrow must have attack Starfire while she was still hurt. She had enough power and strength to keep him pinned down, but wasn't able to stop a canister of fear toxin from being hurled at her.
Perhaps because of her being hurt already, the fear gas had a more lasting effect? No, Cyborg thought, Star's wounds wouldn't affect her body's immune system... Then why is she still asleep?
His answer as to why she was still in the toxin-induced nightmare was provided when the readings showed that Starfire had a higher concentration of fear toxin than he had.
He noticed the four puncture marks on her right arm, further proving that she had the toxin injected directly into the bloodstream. Before the hero could begin to think of a way to start making an antidote, he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
Cyborg quickly shut down all of the lights and turned off the computer he was using. He picked up Starfire and gently laid her behind a table. He then primed both of his arm canons and stood to the right of the door, hoping to get the drop on whoever was coming.
The footsteps continued to get closer and closer until they were just outside the door. It paused for what felt like an eternity to the half-metal hero. A single bead of sweat trickled down his forehead as he watched the nob on the door turn.
It opened slowly, blocking Cyborg from the invader's vision, but also no revealing who it was to him. Deciding to end this now, the hero jumped out from the side of the door, ready for battle.

Beast Boy landed on the pavement were Raven's communicator was located. He transformed back into a human and scratched his head in confusion, wondering why she wasn't here. The green teen looked over to a covered man-hole and snapped his fingers. Raven must have went underground to look for the fear pumps like he did.
Beast Boy opened up the man-hole and climbed down into the waterline. He raced along the path, following the red dot. He grinned in triumph as he saw another one of the machines that Scarecrow had made. His frown didn't last when he found Raven on the other side of it.

"Robin?" Cyborg said in a hushed yet surprised tone as he reverted his arm canons to hands, "How did you manage to get out."
The Teen Titan's leader was also shocked that someone else had gotten free of the nightmare, "It's complicated. Have you stopped Scarecrow yet?"
Cyborg pulled Robin inside and shut the door, "Not yet man. I grabbed Starfire and went to the medical lab as soon as I woke up. Haven't seen that freak yet."
"Starfire? Is she okay?" Concern for his girlfriend overrode his need to stop Scarecrow.
"Chill dude, she is over here." Cyborg brought Robin to the other side of the desk were Starfire lay. He picked her up and laid her on the soft medical bed that was located in the infirmary.
"She has four puncture wounds on her right arm, and my guess is that Scarecrow injected her directly with the liquid form of the fear toxin. Her immune system wasn't able to handle so much of the toxin and therefore, she is taking longer to break free."
"Can you make an antidote for the toxin?"
"Not exactly, I don't have enough data or time to make a full antidote, but…" Cyborg trailed off as he got a new idea, "I can make an inoculant that will slow down the effects of the toxin. It will just take a couple of minutes."
Robin scratched his chin in thought, "We don't have a few minutes. Scarecrow could set those bombs off at any minute."
"Haven't Beast Boy and Raven disassembled them yet?" Cyborg asked his leader.
"No. I tried calling them both a few minutes ago, and neither one answered. If what happened to me is any indication, Scarecrow was trying to get us to leave the Tower and use the toxin on each of us."

Starfire continued to think about the earth creatures known crows. What were her team doing with crows? Starfire tried to focus, but the excruciating pain she was going through kept her from focusing.
Still, the alien princess held onto what memories she could. One word flew through her mind. Scarecrow. She pondered on it for a bit more before she realized it wasn't a just a word, but rather it was a name!
Who was Scarecrow? The young princes focused on the name when a sudden BOOM! Was heard, stopping the Psions from the torture. A large crack ran along the side of the wall.
Blackfire widened her eyes at the sight of the large fissure. "What did you do?!"
Starfire realized that, for whatever reason, thinking about the one called Scarecrow was destroying the palace, and therefore disrupting Blackfire and her underlings. The Tamaranian focused on Scarecrow again, this time remembering that he was the latest villain the Titans were fighting.
Two more cracks splintered from the wall.
"Stop!" Blackfire yelled as her subjects began to fall on the floor. "What are you doing?" Both of the invading species began to fade away into nothing. "Agggrh!" Blackfire screamed as she went to attack Starfire.
The heroine concentrated, ignoring the oncoming villain who, for some reason, appeared to be getting farther away. She thought about how Scarecrow used something called fear toxin to attack his victims. She thought about how Robin had gone after the villain and that Beast Boy and Raven left to deactivate the bombs Scarecrow had planted around the city.
More cracks formed on the walls and floors of the Palace. Now pieces of it were crumbling and falling to the ground. The table currently holding Starfire evaporated, leaving the young girl free. Finally, the realization came upon her that this world wasn't real.
With a final push, Blackfire, the palace, and everything else shattered into nothing.

Scarecrow stood on top of the Titan's Tower roof, looking down at the city. He was going to enjoy spreading his fear across Jump City, watching as the people slowly lost their minds. He looked at his timer. Only 15 seconds. He pulled the small, pencil shaped detonator out of his pocket and fingered it in his hands.

His finger hovered over the red button. He could detonate it now, but if he waited a bit longer… Scarecrow smirked, why not let them sweat it out a little bit? Make them wonder if their heroes had stopped him. Make them believe that they are safe once again. And then watch them scream as the very water they drink proves to be their doom.
Yes, he could wait a few minutes. It wasn't like there was anyone who could stop him.

Raven felt her grip loosen on the wire as her strength began to give out.
'Won't you just let go?!" the evil Raven called from the sky. Several lightning bolts emitted from the swirling void and destroyed more of the Tower.
One of the bolts hit the empath, sending pain coursing through her body. This finally caused her to release the cable and drift towards the black mass. Oddly, she drifted serenely towards the void, unlike the pieces of shrapnel that shot towards it around her.
She closed her eyes, ready to give in and be consumed by the demons in her mind. However this was not her destiny, and mere seconds from entering the void, another hole opened up. This one was green and swirled on top of the Tower.
"Raven?!"
"Rae!"
The voice of a very familiar green teammate was heard from inside the portal.
"If- if you can hear me right now, don't give in to whatever you see! It isn't real!"
Raven was shocked by his words. How was Beast Boy still alive? Where was he? What did he have to do with the glowing portal on what was left of the Tower. Despite her questions, the pale girl did feel hope for some reason when she looked at the portal.
The anti-version of herself understood what was happening, and wasn't about to let Raven go so easily. "Do you really think they are going to stop me? I thought we went through this already, it is only postponing the inevitable."
Beast Boy's voice again was heard, "Raven I know you're scared right now. And I know what you are afraid of. You're scared of not being able to control your power. You're scared that you are going to hurt us and others. But I know you won't. You want to know why? Because you're a hero and friend Rae. And right now, we need you. I need you."
The dark Raven's eyes widened at the words, and her power slipped. The real empath was shocked as well, and she soon felt herself start to reach out and gravitate towards the green portal.
"No!" The clone behind her yelled as she yanked Raven back. Her pull wasn't as strong anymore however, and Raven soon began to close the gap between herself and freedom.
Cracks began to form in the sky and in the lava pool. The black void began to flicker, as if it was a light bulb with a broken circuit.
"Auuughh!" the anti-Raven screamed as she fell into the lava below. Of course it didn't kill her, but she soon began to sink in it.
"You won't be able to keep me locked away forever! I will get out again, and when I do, no one will be able to sto-" her words were cut off as she was submerged into the lava.
Raven gave a final push of power, resulting in her entering the green portal and shattering the nightmare.
A
Beast Boy had just finished his words when suddenly, a pair of arms where wrapped around his neck. He froze up in shock at the empath that was very close to him.
"Thank you, Beast Boy." Raven said quietly as she hugged her friend.
"Always happy to help." Beast Boy said after he unfroze, "So uhh, you going to let go or…."
Raven quickly pulled away, realizing that: A- Scarecrow's bombs were still scattered throughout the city, and B- She was hugging Beast Boy.
Said teen was smirking at her, the jokes and insults already generating in his mind. The pale girl only rolled her eyes.
"Don't ruin the moment," was all she said as she turned towards the fear toxin pumping machine.

A/N- Woo! Finally done with that chapter! How was it? Good, bad? Let me know with a review. I just wanted to do a recap of how each Titan broke out: Robin was able to because of will power and having dealt with the toxin before. Cyborg was able to because the computer side of his brain more or less forced him to wake up. Starfire was able to break out solely because of her will power. Beast Boy broke out because of will power and certain feelings for a certain empath. Finally, Raven took the longest to break out because of her powers amplifying the effects of the toxin. This meant that an outside source was needed, which just happened to be our favorite green hero.
Also, with regard to the BBRae that didn't happen in this story, I do apologize. However, I have plans to make a one-shot solely for them. I am also in the process of generating ideas for a next story that will also focus on the couple.
That is all I have to say for now! Later my friends.
