Wayne industries:
Lucius lead them to a large office; you could see all of Gotham from there.
Lucius motioned them to sit "Mr. Wayne you know how much I appreciate you, right" Bruce nodded Lucius took a deep breath "Bruce, Falcone was in the building"-"Bruce immediately tensed up "What did he want?"-"He managed to get a hold of the some of the newest weapons Wayne Tech produced, they are more powerful and a lot more lighter, I couldn't interfere, I'm sorry"-"How did he convinced the people" Lucius shrugged "The usual I guess, bribery, extortion, God knows what that man in is capable of" Bruce stared at Lucius before shaking his head letting a sight escape from his lips "I understand Lucius, don't let anyone know, we don't need the bad press, I better get going I promised Kitty I will show her the town" Lucius smiled "Very well, as always is a pleasure to see Mr. Wayne" Bruce shook his hand "Likewise Lucius, I hope I see you soon" Kitty waved at the man before exiting the room. Kitty looked at Bruce as they walked down the hallway in their way to the car. He looked so troubled, she noticed that as soon as he heard the name Falcone, curiosity got the best out of her and decided to ask Bruce about it "Bruce, who is Falcone?" Bruce frowned "He is the most powerful mob boss in Gotham, he technically owns the city, he has almost all the police department on his payroll, no one can lay a finger on him, he is very well know as one of the worst mans in Gotham, constantly oppressing the poor people and forcing them to work for him" Kitty gasped "And no one has tried to do anything to stop him" Bruce shook his head "Like I said, he owns the city and no man that works in the radar can stop him, it used to be different, when my father was around, he managed to keep Falcone at bay, he never really told me how, he just said he had help" Kitty nodded "I see, who do you think helped him?"-"Don't know, but it would be nice if they helped again" Maybe those people are no longer around to help, but I´m not going to stand by and let the people of this city get hurt by the weapons that my company produces, I´m going to pay Falcone a visit tonight Bruce thought as they got in the elevator.
The Gotham Botanic Center was one of the most interesting buildings in Gotham, it´s exterior was made of glass so that the sun could get trough, in the inside the plants could grow as wild as they wanted, the entire building was beautiful and took your breath away. Kitty couldn't help but to whistle "This place is amazing"-"I know, my mom used to bring me here a lot, she could talk with some folks while I ran around the place, trying to catch all sorts of bugs" Kitty giggled at the image of Batman running around trying to catch a butterfly. Bruce felt somebody grab him by the shoulder "Long time no see Bruce" Bruce smiled and turned to face him "Harvey Dent, a pleasure to see you here" Harvey Dent smiled in return and soon hugged him "Oh man, look at you, what happened to the skinny boy that used to go to the same school as I did?" Bruce chuckled "I guess that raveling around the world does that to you" Harvey turned serious "Everybody thought you were dead"-"I know and I´m very sorry for that, but I had to get away from everything for a while" Harvey nodded "So are you staying for good this time"- "No, I´m living in Bayville now, I was accepted in the Xavier Institute for gifted youngsters"-"Oh, I see" Harvey smiled at his friend, happy for his achievements.
Meanwhile Bruce and Harvey were catching up; Kitty started wandering around the facility watching the different types of plants. She then spotted a small red head looking at Bruce, she looked at him as she was looking at a hero, Kitty smirked and tapped the girl on the shoulder making her yelp "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, my name is Kitty, what´s yours?" The girl smiled "My name is Pamela, nice to meet you"-"You know the guy over there?" she asked timidly pointing at Bruce. Kitty nodded "Yep, we´re friends" Pamela looked down at her feet "Could you please thank him"-"For what?"-"For saving me" the kid replied, smiling at the memory. Kitty on the other hand was freaking out: did this girl know he is Batman? How did she saw without the costume? So many questions where running through her head, but she managed to nod at the girl, not wanting to appear impolite. Pamela smile grew wider "Thanks, my aunt must be looking for me, see you later" Kitty waved at the kid, before returning next to Bruce who was already saying his goodbyes as well.
"Sorry to leave Harvey, but I promised Kitty that I would show her the town and you got to admit that Wayne enterprises and the Gotham botanic is not an impressive tour" Harvey laughed "You´re right, it would be pretty lame of you" he hugged Bruce "If you need anything you know you can always call me" Bruce nodded "I know and the same thing goes to you" Harvey took out a coin from his pocket "What are you doing Harvey?"-"I was supposed to go to a party tonight, but I want to go hang out with Rachel"-"So you are going to toss a coin to see witch option to chose"-"Exactly" he tossed the coin, he smiled like a kid in Christmas "Rachel it is" Bruce rolled his eyes " You shouldn't left chance decide your actions" Harvey grinned "I never do" he showed that the coin was exactly the same in both sides "I build my own luck" he waved at Kitty before leaving. Kitty tapped Bruce in the shoulder "Bruce something happened" Bruce eyes narrowed "What?" he said in his Batman voice. "There was this kid, she looked about nine year and she was all like, could you please thank that hut guy over there… not that I mean you´re a hot guy, I mean you´re handsome, I mean…" Kitty looked at her feet her cheeks red "And?" Bruce pressed "She wanted me to thank you for saving her" she finished lamely. Bruce tried to remember any little girl that he had saved in Gotham the he remembered. She was the girl he had saved right before he went to Bayville.
Flashback:
Bruce looked down at the crook who he had just finished beating to a pulp, people like him disgusted him, willingly to beat up a little girl jus because of a debt, he returned his attention to the little girl who has looking at him. "You alright he didn't get an answer, Bruce sighted loudly. She was still scared, but of what? He had just beaten the living crap out of him and probably broke his arm and…. "Oh I get it now" he looked like one of them, with the mask and all that. He groaned loudly and took his mask off. The girl immediately relaxed a little, Bruce smiled at her "Sorry for scaring you, where do you live little one?" he asked as kindly as he could. Using his Bruce Wayne persona always helped in social situations. The girl something that caught Bruce off guard, she hugged him "Thank you" she then gave him the directions to her house, apparently she lived just a few blocks away, she told him that her uncle had send her to buy something at the store, but as she passed through a dark alley the punk had jumped on her. When they arrived at her house she hugged him one more time before running towards her home. As Bruce was about to leave he heard yelling "Pamela Isley, where the hell is my beer!" he heard some more shouting and soon he hear a loud "SMACK". Bruce gritted his teeth in anger and it took all his self control not to get in there and beat the man with the same force as he had did with the punk who had attack the little girl, at his eyes they where both the same. But then again this was Gotham, no one would care if a little girl was abused, they all had their own problems. He sighted and went back to his motorcycle, he had to pack tomorrow he had to go to Bayville.
End of flashback.
Bruce snapped out of his flashback "Her name was Pamela by any chance?" Kitty nodded "Yes, that´s like, what she told me" he smiled at Kitty "No need to worry, I know her and she didn't saw me with the Batman costume" Kitty sighted in relief "Thank God I thought she knew who you where" Bruce nodded "I appreciate your concern, now come along, there is still a lot of Gotham to show you"
A/N: Hey guys (looks at update date) I'm so sorry, but it has been really hard for me to update. I have been sick; I had exams and all of that crap. Anyways, next update will be the last one of the arc about Gotham and then we will return to the normal X-men evolution episodes starting with Speed and Spike.
