"So what we have is a good old fashioned home-made bomb." Chin told the group when they gathered around an ambulance. Angel was finally being treated for her injuries, as per Steve's orders. She wasn't happy about it but she didn't have much of a choice when he hoisted her over his shoulder and carried her to the waiting EMTs. Every time they would make eye contact she would squint her eyes at him and he would simply smile.

"Well the U.S. Marshals have put away quite a few people and even more into witness protection. I can imagine why someone would want to blow the building into pieces." Angels father was saying when she finally focused again.

"Shouldn't be hard to locate the suspect. You can buy half of this stuff at any local hardware store." Angel said with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Alright, Chin you and Kono look into the bomb. Find out if anything was bought locally or online. See if we cant find out who did this. Danny and I will stay here and make sure everyone is accounted for." Steve ordered his team who started to depart.

"What about me?" Angel asked with a questioning look. Everyone stopped and gave their leader a curious look as well.

"You are coming home with me." Angels mom said as she approached the ambulance. Angel shot her husband a murderous glare.

"You called my mother?"

"No. I did." Her father answered. "Steve and I agreed that you need to go home and get some rest."

"I am not going anywhere. I'm needed here!" Angel argued and slightly stumbled when she stood.

"No you are not. You need to go home. Look at you, you can barely stand." Steve told his wife. She started to argue but he put a finger over her lips to silence her. "You need to start taking it easy. Its whats best."

"You're not getting any for a week." She mumbled when his hand dropped.

"I just went three months. I think I can handle a week." He replied and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Turning, she limped along, following her mother.

"That wasn't so bad." Danny said with a nod.

"It will be worse when the time comes to actually put her on office duty. I dont think that is ever going to get let go." Angels father stated to which Five-O agreed wholeheartedly.

Angel frowned as she layed on her parents couch.

"I cant believe you made me leave." She told her mother who was propping her ankle on a pillow and putting an ice pack on it as well.

"You'll get over it." Becky answered with a smile. "Besides, if you are ever going to give me a grand-baby, you cant be running off half-cocked and getting yourself into trouble. Slow down. Steve and everyone else had the scene covered."

"Yeah but-"

"No buts Angel! You have got to look after yourself better. Let Steve handle all that rough and tough field work."

"Moooommmm." Angel dragged out with a groan.

"I'm serious." She replied. "Why don't you think about going back to school? You could still work with Five-O part time." Her daughter was silent for a moment.

"Before leaving for Georgia, I thought about quitting Five-O all together." She admitted. "I was at that point. I was done."

"That's understandable."

"I don't know about school mom." She sighed. "I mean what would I even go for?'

"Photography. Horticulture. Be a veterinarian. You used to love all those things." Becky rattled off. "You helped your grandma all the time with her garden. When you were little you had a camera that you would run all over the place with. You love animals. Just look at what a school has to offer and whatever sparks your interest, take it by the horns." Her mom answered and set a photo album and a laptop on the coffee table. "I'll get you a drink and some snacks. Don't get up until Steve comes to get you later."

"What if I have to pee?"

"I will bring you a bed pan." She winked.

Angel rolled her eyes at her mom before grabbing the album. She smiled at the photos that she had taken as a child. Some were down right awful. But some weren't that bad. She had always been told she had potential. Picking up the laptop, she looked at a few of the islands colleges, thinking about her options.

Steve wiped a hand over his face in exhaustion. It was a miracle but only 4 out of 35 people had died in the explosion. 31 were injured with 10 being in critical condition. He wasn't going to complain though. They had found the bomber without much of a struggle as well. A pissed off teenager who wanted revenge for his father being arrested. It scared Steve how much the world had changed since he was a child. Gone was the safety of letting your children play out in the yard by themselves. Gone was the safety of going to the store without the fear of being robbed, shot, raped, or kidnapped for no apparent reason.

The more the world scared him, the more he started to think about wanting a baby of his own. Did he really want to bring someone into a world where one wrong look at someone could get them killed? Where the wrong outfit could entice someone enough to have their way with them? Especially in his line of work, it scared him even more. More times than he could count has he seen someone taking revenge on a police officers family simply for the officer doing their job. He would never be able to live with himself if something happened to Angel or his future children just because of a choice he made.

Shaking the thoughts out of his head, he knocked on the door in front of him.

"Steve. You should know by now that you don't have to knock. You can just come right in." Becky said softly with a smile.

"I guess some habits die hard." He replied and entered the home.

"She is out like a light."

Steve smiled at the arm draped over a mess of brown hair. The light of the setting sun pushed through the windows and he was in awe. The orange light reflected on her pale skin making her glow. She was absolutely beautiful. He wiped the small drool line from her chin and she pressed into his touch. A smile spread across her lips and she slowly opened her eyes to him.

"Hi." She whispered.

"Hey." He whispered in return.

"Is everything alright?"

"Everyone was located. We found the bomber. You have nothing to worry about." He answered and pushed a stray hair out of her eyes.

"Good." She sighed in relief. "Can we go home now? That crazy lady wouldn't let me get up."

"Well you don't need to be up and running around on that ankle right now anyways. So I'm glad she made you stay."

Sticking her tongue out at him, she wrapped her arms around his neck as he hoisted her into his arms. Her mother met them at the door, kissing them both on their way out.

"Love you both. Keep her off her feet." Becky ordered as Steve set his wife carefully in his truck. "Think about what we talked about young lady!"

"Yes mom!" Angel yelled out the window as they drove off.

"What did you guys talk about?"

"We talked about...me only working with Five-O part time. And maybe going back to school." Angel answered her husband truthfully. Secrets didn't go far with the two. They both knew the consequences when they kept secrets. Steve nodded at her answer and thought for a moment.

"I...think...that's a good idea." He admitted. Angel was slightly shocked but gave him a smile anyways.

"Yeah." Her smile faded quickly and she shot him a look. "Why did you agree to that so easily?"

"Some space from Five-O would be a good thing. Especially if we want to have a family some day."

The answer made her silent but she agreed with him completely. If she didn't slow down then a child would be impossible to have.

"We just have to remember that the doctor said it would be difficult. Not impossible." Steve said, jarring her out of her thoughts. Angel noticed that they had already made it home and he was pulling the key from the ignition.

"So I guess we will just have to keep trying until we succeed right?" She told him with a sneaky smirk. He caught on quickly and jumped out to run to her side. Pulling her out and into his arms, he placed a deep kiss on her lips.

"We better get started. The trying is the best part."
