Chapter 10: Expulsion match
The familiar cold water of the shower stung Jaden's back
'f-f-fuck!' Jaden thought which made Yubel laugh
'I heard that' she said
Jaden shut the water off and began drying off
'You're anxious, Jaden'
'Yeah, how could I not be?' Jaden scoffed
'I just don't want you to lose because your head isn't in it, is all' Yubel had a sad smile on her face
'I won't lose. I can't.' Jaden said as he looked in the mirror
'Good… shouldn't you be going over your deck?'
'I've already gone over it a thousand times, my decision is final. Besides, I gotta make sure I look nice.' Jaden said with a silent laugh
'Aim to impress someone?' Yubel grinned
'Always. Though, if I am going to lose today, I must look my best while doing so' Jaden and Yubel laughed together
A few minutes later, at 10 am
"Whoa, Jaden. New outfit?" Syrus asked as Jaden left the bathroom
Jaden had on a red t-shirt with a brown leather jacket over it. He had black jeans on with black and white sneakers. His dual-colored brown hair fell naturally in place. He smelled slightly of cologne and deodorant and shampoo
"Yeah. Felt like looking nice today" Jaden sighed as he sat down at the desk
"Well, you're pretty sharp dude. You ready?" Chumley asked as he leaned against the wall
"Yeah… let's go" The three friends left the room and Jaden looked at the silver lockbox on his desk as he exited
10:45 in the Obelisk Arena
"He looks… pretty hot today" Triss whispered to Alexis
Jaden was talking to all of his friends, telling each of them how much fun he'd had so far and saying goodbye, just in case this was the end. But he told them all the same thing: 'I won't lose. But just in case.' The only two he hadn't talked to yet were Alexis and Triss
Alexis grinned at her friends' comment while watching Jaden, who was coming towards them now
"Ladies…" Jaden said while smiling at his friends
"All dressed up?" Alexis smirked
"If I am to go down today, I will look fabulous while doing so!" He said which made the three laugh and Alexis shake her head
"Good luck, Jaden. We'll be watching intently" Triss hugged Jaden and then walked off, leaving Alexis and Jaden alone
"Don't lose… it's more fun with you around" Alexis said as Jaden stood next to her, almost touching forearms
"I know" He said while grinning which made Alexis smack him on the back of his head and they both laughed
Jaden looked at Alexis, which made her turn to him and make eye contact
"I won't lose. I'm going to win, we're going to do our lessons with Marik, and we're going to find your brother. I promise you all of these things" He said as he looked her in the eye
"Don't make promises you can't keep" Alexis said quietly
"I don't. I would never lie to you" Jaden said as he smiled and walked to her other side, towards the stairs
"Jaden…" Alexis called to him, which made him stop and turn with a smile
"Good luck" she said as they both grinned at each other
Jaden ascended the stairs again and hugged her, catching her off guard
"I'll be back, beautiful" He said while laughing
"Stop calling me that!" She hissed
Jaden broke off the hug and winked at her, which made her blush as he left
10:58 in the Obelisk Arena
Jaden was standing on the Arena, looking at his deck and his friends
Alexis, Triss, Kat, Bastion, Syrus, Chumley, Chazz, Zane, Marik, Yugi, Kaiba and Téa all sat together in 3 different rows so they could all talk to each other easily
On the bottom row, left to right, were Chazz, Triss, Alexis, Marik. On the row above them, left to right, were Bastion, Chumley, Syrus, and Zane. On the third row were Yugi, Téa, Kat, and Kaiba
Jaden smiled and waved to his friends, which most of them returned
Crowler stepped on stage with a microphone to address the crowd. Everyone in the school was there. They had all been told that Jaden had gone to the abandoned dorm and he would be expelled if he lost this duel, so everyone was on the edges of their seats
"Good morning, students. I trust many of you know the accused" Crowler looked with disgust towards Jaden as he continued
"But for those of you that don't, this is Jaden Yuki from the Slifer dorm. He will be dueling 1 versus 2 in an expulsion match because he entered the abandoned dorm. Let this be a reminded to all of you to not enter that area, ever." Crowler said as he sighed
"Now… for his opponents. Two of the most well-known names in Japan. Regional champs and serious contenders in the Battle City tournament many years ago! Allow me to introduce you to… Joey Wheeler and Mai Valentine!" Crowler said with a smirk on his face
The crowd gasped in shock as Joey and Mai entered the arena, holding hands and waving to everyone. They were both good-looking blondes in their late 20's to early thirties. Joey had on standard jeans with a white and light blue shirt and a golden chain around his neck. Mai had on her signature purple dueling suit with her hair spiraled. They both had bright, shining rings, signaling their marriage
The dueling legends stepped onto the Arena and sized up their opponent, Jaden Yuki, who was both shocked and ecstatic at the moment
"Hey kid" Joey said with a smile
"Holy shit… hello!" Jaden said back while giggling a bit
"Where's your duel partner?" Mai asked, looking around
"Oh… I'll be facing both of you. By myself" Jaden said with a smile, which shocked Mai and Joey. They hadn't heard Crowler's announcement and they weren't told they would be doing a 2v1 duel, or else they probably wouldn't have accepted
Joey turned to Crowler with a frown on his face
"I thought this was going to be a tag-team duel against two students that had broken the rules? What gives?" He asked
"It's not his fault. I asked for this" Jaden interjected, which surprised Joey and Mai smirked
"Bold. I like it" Mai said
"You're just a kid though… not really fair to face both of us" Joey said as he put his hands on his hips
"Please… you'll have your hands full" Jaden said smugly as he activated his duel disk, which made Joey and Mai smile at each other
"Kid's confident. Let's see for how long!" Mai said as she activated her duel disk
"Let's duel!" Joey yelled as he activated his duel disk
"He sent for wheeler? Jaden will have no trouble at all…" Kaiba said quietly
"Joey's a good duelist, and so is Mai. Jaden will have plenty of trouble with the two of them" Yugi replied unhappily
"He might be able to win with the God cards if he can get one out" Bastion stated
"Oh, right… I forgot to tell you guys. He didn't bring them with him" Syrus said as he slumped down into his chair
"He WHAT?" Triss roared
"Idiot" Marik said as he turned back around
"I don't see how he can win against two of the best duelists in the world by himself without giving it his all" Bastion sighed
"He must be awful eager to prove himself" Zane said as he sat back and stared at the field
"I'll go first, obviously" Jaden laughed as his opponents nodded their heads
"DUEL!"
Jaden's Turn:
8000 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 6
"I summon Elemental Hero Stratos in Attack mode!" Atk: 1800 / Def: 300
A blue and silver Hero entered the field. He had two wings, each having its own rotor.
"That's… new" Kat stated
"I activate his special ability! I can add one "Hero" card from my deck to my hand" Jaden stated as he fished through his deck and picked out his card, then shuffled it
"I'll also throw down two face downs and end my turn" Jaden said excitedly
Alexis sighed "Leave it to Jaden to enjoy an expulsion match"
Joey Wheeler's Turn:
4000 LP
"Alright, it's my draw!"
Hand Size: 6
"I summon Axe Raider in attack mode!" Atk: 1700 / Def: 1150
A man in gold and red armor with a massive broad-axe appeared
"I'll put one card face down and end my turn!" Joey said with a smirk
Jaden's Turn:
8000 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 5
"I summon Elemntal Hero Heat in attack mode!" Atk: 1600 / Def: 1200
A manly hero with a red, white, and gold suit appeared on the field
"He gains 200 attack for each "Hero" I control, and right now that's 2, so his attack goes up to 2000!" Atk: 2000 / Def: 1200
"Those are… some strong cards. He might be ok, even without the god cards" Triss said aloud
"I didn't give them to him because he was a weak duelist without them" Yugi called down to Triss as they smiled at each other
"True. Jaden's a damn good duelist, god cards or not" Marik said with his arms crossed
"Since I can't attack yet, I end my turn" Jaden said with a smile
Mai Valentine's Turn:
4000 LP
"Alright sweety, here I come. Draw!"
Hand Size: 6
"I summon Harpie Lady in defense mode!" Atk: 1300 / Def: 1400
A beautiful monster with bright pink hair appeared on the field. On each of her arms were large wings and her feet were claws
"Next, I play the spell card Elegant Egotist! As long as I have a Harpie Lady on the field, I can summon Harpie Lady sisters from my deck! So, come on out, girls, in defense mode!" Atk: 1950 / Def: 2100
Three more harpies appeared on the field in a tight formation. They all looked the same as the first, except they had purple, orange, and blue hair
"I'll put one card facedown and end my turn. Over to you, cutie" Mai said which made Jaden blush a bit and Joey laugh
In the stands, Alexis fidgeted in her seat slightly. Marik was the only one that picked up on this and he smiled
Jaden's Turn:
8000 LP
"Time for some fun! Draw!"
Hand Size: 5
"I play the spell card Pot of Greed!" Jaden said as he drew two cards
"I play the spell card Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Mai's facedown!"
A tornado appeared on the field, over the top of Joey's card. It shattered shortly after and the Tornado disappeared
"Not bad, kid" Mai said quietly
"Smart, doing that before he summoned" Zane stated
"Next I summon Elemental Hero Lady Heat in attack mode!" Atk: 1300 / Def: 1000
A shapely version of Elemental Hero Heat appeared on the field. Like him, she wore a white and red suit
Many of the boys in the audience whistled and cheered as she was summoned, which made Jaden giggle quietly
"Since I have three Elemental Hero's on the field, Heat gains another 200 attack points!" Jaden exclaimed Atk: 2200 / Def: 1200
"I also play the spell card Skyscraper!" Buildings rose all around Jaden
"What's this do?" Joey asked
"It gives his hero's an extra 1000 attack points if they go up against something stronger than them" Mai replied
"Oh… not good" Joey said as he scratched the back of his head
"No, idiot. Not good" Mai scolded playfully
"Heat, destroy Harpie Lady Sisters!" Jaden ordered
Heat sent a fire wave towards the sisters. They all caught on fire and screamed before exploding
"Stratos! DESTROY AXE RAIDER!" Jaden yelled extatically
Stratos dashed forward and cut Axe Raider in half
"Man… he's fired up!" Syrus said with a big smile
"Look at him. He's having the time of his life. He's dueling two legendary duelists and is winning, of course he's fired up!" Bastion said with a smug look
"Legendary? Ha!" Marik laughed
"Well, Joey's wide open for attack now, except for his facedown" Triss stated
"Lady Heat, destroy Harpie Lady!" Jaden yelled, which shocked everyone except Zane and Kaiba, who were both grinning
Lady Heat Atk: 1300 – 2300 due to skyscraper
Lady Heat sent out a stream of flames towards Harpie Lady, incinerating her
"Why didn't he just attack Joey directly?" Chumley asked, confused
"He wants complete field control. It's genius, really. If he can keep field control, he negates the benefit they have as tag-duelists. They won't be able to play off each other if neither of them has anything." Bastion said in awe
"I'll end with that. However, during my end phase, Lady Heat will deal 200 points of damage for each Hero I have on the field, and I have 3. So, she deals 600 points of damage to both of you!"
Lady Heat conjured 6 fireballs and sent 3 towards Mai and 3 towards Joey, who both shielded themselves from the flames
"Over to you, Joey!" Jaden said excitedly
Joey's Turn:
3300 LP
"You're pretty good, kid. Draw!"
Hand Size: 5
"I summon Gearfried the Iron Knight!" Atk: 1800 / Def: 1600
A black armored golem appeared on the field as the crowd gasped. Everyone knew about this card from Battle City!
"Get ready, cus im playing the spell card Release Restraint!" Joey yelled
Jaden got a huge grin because he was so excited
"This allows me to tribute Gearfried the Iron Knight to summon… Gearfried the swordmaster!" Atk: 2600 / Def: 2200
A massive man appeared on the field. Just one look at him and you would know he's deadly
"Sweet! That card is sick!" Jaden yelled to Joey as the two laughed
"Glad you think so! Now Gearfried, destroy Lady Heat!" Joey commanded
Lady Heat Atk: 1300 – 2300 due to Skyscraper
Gearfried jumped in the air and expertly slashed Lady Heat to pieces as she exploded before returning to his initial place
The girls in the crowd cheered while most of the boy's didn't say much. Sure, gearfried was cool, but Lady Heat was hot!
"I'll place one card facedown and end my turn. How 'bout that, eh?" Joey smirked
Jaden's Turn:
7700 LP
"Not bad. Pretty good, actually. My draw!"
"No, it's not! I activate my face down, Drop Off! This makes you send your draw to the graveyard!" Joey exclaimed as Jaden smirked

"Thanks for doing that, Joey. I play my facedown card, Call of the Haunted! This lets me bring back one monster from my graveyard, and I choose the one I just sent there! I summon Elemental Hero Bladedge in attack mode!" Atk: 2600 / Def: 1800
"Way to go, dumbass" Mai glared at Joey, who was sweating a bit
"Alright Jay!" Alexis, Triss, Syrus, and Kat all cheered
"Now I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman in attack mode!" Atk: 1600 / Def: 1400
A blue Hero appeared. His hands sparked with electricity
"Bladedge, destroy his Gearfried!"
Bladedge Atk: 2600 – 3600 due to skyscraper
"Negate Attack!" Joey yelled as he revealed his second and last facedown card
"This makes you stop your attack and end your battle phase!" Joey said happily
"Fine. I play the spell card Monster Reborn! I choose to bring back Elemental Hero Lady Heat!" Atk: 1300 / Def: 1000
"Now I end my turn. During my end phase, Lady Heat deals 200 points of damage to you for each Elemental Hero on my side of the field, and I have 5, so that's 1000!" Jaden exclaimed happily
Lady Heat conjured up 10 fireballs and sent 5 to each of his opponents
"That's so much damage. They have to clear Jaden's board if they want to win" Yugi said excitedly
"I haven't seen someone whoop Joey or Mai this hard since… well, since Marik did at Battle City!" Téa said, surprised
Several people turned to Marik, who had his eyes closed and was grinning
"Taught him everything he knows" Marik said smugly
"Now you sound like Joey. One idiot was enough" Kaiba insulted from the third row, which made Marik's eye twitch and Triss giggled
"At least people like me, dickhead" Marik said without looking at Kaiba. Kaiba looked infuriated as all the girls giggled, including Kat
Mai's Turn:
2400 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 4
"You know, I've had just about enough of these damn Skyscrapers. I play the spell card Harpie's Feather Duster!" Mai smirked as Jaden groaned
"This lets me destroy all spell and trap cards on the field. Since Joey and I have none, it only hurts you, sweetie." Mai giggled as Skyscraper and Jaden's facedown vanished
"Next, I summon Harpie Lady in attack mode!" Atk: 1300 / Def: 1400
"I'll also equip her with Cyber Shield! This gives her 500 attack!" Atk: 1800 / Def: 1400
The pink haired Harpie gained a suit of armor that was very provocative. Many of the boys whistled at this
"Next, I equip her with Rose Whip! This gives my Harpie Lady with 300 attack and defense points!"
Harpie Lady picked up a whip from the Arena floor as Jaden smirked
"Kinky. Gonna use it on me?" Jaden said with a smirk
"Ha! I'm too much for you to handle, honey. But I will destroy your monsters!" Mai retorted
Kat was dying laughing in the audience which didn't help Alexis' slight anger, which Triss picked up on
"You good?" Triss asked while smirking
"She's a bit jealous that Jaden's flirting with someone else" Marik whispered so only Triss and Alexis could hear him
"I am not! He can flirt with whoever he pleases!" Alexis said angrily as she huffed and crossed her arms
Triss and Marik started giggling which made Alexis even more mad, to the point she stopped talking all together
"Harpie Lady, destroy Lady Heat! Show her who the alpha female is!" Mai ordered
Harpie Lady Atk: 2100 / Def: 1700 vs Lady Heat Atk: 1300 / Def: 1000
Harpie Lady cracked her whip a few times before wrapping it around Lady Heat's neck and dragging her to the ground before she exploded
"Oof… yikes. This what she does to you, Joey?" Jaden said with a smirk as Joey turned red
"Only when he's bad" Mai said quietly enough for only the three on the Arena to hear as she winked at Joey, which made Jaden double over in laughter
"I'll end with that, sweetie." Mai said with a smirk
"Wait… that's it? Doesn't… Jaden just win?" Syrus asked
"I believe so" Zane said with a smirk
Jaden looked to Crowler, who was sweating and shaking seeing how Jaden was winning
"Hey Dr. Crowler! Is this uh… considered an official duel?" Jaden asked while scratching the back of his head
"NO! IT'S NOT! WHY!?" Crowler yelled angrily
"Sheesh… just asking" Jaden smirked
Jaden's Turn:

"Draw!"

"I play the card I drew, Elemental Hero Burstinatrix in attack mode!" Atk: 1200 / Def: 800
A girl hero appeared on the field in a red suit. She had fire coming from her eyes and hands
"Next I play my last card that I've been holding onto, Card of Sanctity! This allows us all to draw until we have 6 cards in our hands!" Jaden exclaimed as the three started drawing cards
"I don't know if that was a smart move. Jaden could've just ended the duel" Triss said aloud
"It wasn't tactful, but it's Jaden. He wants everyone to have more cards to keep the duel going and have more fun" Bastion said with a smirk
"Again, he's an idiot" Marik said as he sighed
"But he's a lovable idiot. Like Joey!" Téa giggled from the top row
"Sweet!" Jaden yelled as he looked at his new hand
"I play the spell card Double Summon! This allows me to normal summon again this turn!" Jaden yelled happily
"I sacrifice Elemental Hero Burstinatrix to summon Elemental Hero Necroshade in defense mode!" Atk: 1600 / Def: 1800
A red, gray, and silver Hero appeared on the field. He looked dark and had claws for hands
"What… is he up to? Why doesn't he just end the duel?" Syrus asked nervously
"He's probably trying to show off" Kat said while giggling
"Idiot" Alexis said quietly which made Marik start choking on his drink from laughter
"Bladedge! Destroy Harpie lady!"
Bladedge dashed forward and sliced precisely in a gap in Harpie Lady's armor, destroying her
"I place two cards facedown and end my turn" Jaden said with a smirk
"What're you doing kid? You could've just won!" Mai yelled
"I know. Just wait. I have something I want to do" Jaden said happily
Joey's Turn:
1300 LP
Hand Size: 7
"Poor choice, kid. I summon Alligator's Sword in defense mode!" Atk: 1500 / Def: 1200
An alligator… with a sword appeared.
"I place 5 cards facedown and end my turn!" Joey said smugly
Jaden's Turn:
6900 LP
"Sweet! Draw!"
Hand Size: 3
Jaden turned to Crowler, who had regained a bit of his composure
"Bet you're wondering why I asked that question earlier, right?" Jaden asked smugly
Crowler didn't respond
"It's because I needed to know if I could play this card or not!" Jaden said happily as he picked a card out of his hand
"Now… I need to sacrifice Necroshade and Sparkman! Bye guys!" Jaden said as his heroes disappeared
"Next, I remove one light monster and one dark monster from my graveyard!" Jaden exclaimed
Bastion, Zane, and Kaiba all gasped at the same time
"What?" Kat asked as she looked around
"Is he?" Zane asked
"He has to be!" Kaiba said as he stood up
"I don't get it?" Triss asked as she turned around
"Only two monsters in existence are summoned like this. It's a ritual summoning. One is Black luster soldier…" Bastion trailed
"And the other?" Chumley asked
"I summon Chaos Emperor Dragon – Envoy of the End!" Jaden yelled
The crowd gasped. This was one of the rarest cards in the world. The Dragon roared loudly as it entered the field Atk: 3000 / Def: 2500
"Uh… Joey?" Mai asked as she took a step back
"Don't Joey me! What am I supposed to do!?" He said as he took a step back as well
"I activate it's special ability! I pay 1000 of my LP to send all cards in our hands and on the field to the graveyard!" Jaden exclaimed
Mai discarded her entire hand, as did Jaden and Joey. Then everything on the field except Chaos Emperor Dragon disappeared
"Now I deal 300 points of damage for each card removed! We removed 24, so that's 7200 damage!" Jaden yelled
Chaos Emperor Dragon roared as he absorbed the power of all the cards that were just removed. Once he was done, he let out an explosion that blinded the entire audience temporarily
"That's game!" Jaden said happily, doing his signature pose
"This wasn't supposed to happen this way! This can't be!" Crowler shrieked
"You did wonderful selecting their opponents, Dr. Crowler!" Chancellor Sheppard said as he walked down to the Arena
"Attention students!" Sheppard said as he got on the microphone
"Jaden Yuki won his expulsion match, so he is clear of charges! I also have an announcement to make" Sheppard said as the Arena grew silent
"In two weeks, we will be having a school dance. Details will come out this upcoming week. If you want in, bring a date, and don't forget admission. It will be $20 per person. Have fun!" Sheppard said as he turned the microphone and walked out of the Arena
Jaden's friends all flooded into the Arena to talk to him at once as the audience broke out in conversation, becoming very loud
"Hey guys!" Jaden said as he ran up to his friends, meeting them halfway
Alexis squeezed between Zane and Bastion and walked right up to Jaden
"Hey! Like I said, a promise is a- "
Alexis smacked Jaden in the face, interrupting his sentence
"Oof…" Came from several of his friends as they all backed away
Jaden touched a hand to his face where he'd been smacked, then looked at Alexis
Alexis looked infuriated
'She's so cute when she's mad. Look at her, Yubel. This is hilarious.' Jaden grinned widely at Alexis, which only made her madder
Jaden started laughing and Alexis smacked him again
"Ouch! What's your deal? I won!" Jaden said as he turned to Alexis again
"You could've won earlier! Instead you had to show off! What if you lost!?" Alexis screamed as their friends all backed away
Kat hand motioned to Jaden to tell him they were going to the Cafeteria to wait on them and Jaden nodded as Kat was laughing her ass off
"True. I'm sorry" Jaden smirked as he looked at Alexis
"You're not sorry! Not at all!" Alexis retorted, still steaming
"Not about showing off, no. I'm sorry I made you mad, though" Jaden giggled
Alexis punched his arm twice… hard
"Ok! Ok! I get it! My bad!" Jaden said as he winced
"Don't!" punch "Ever!" punch "Do!" punch "That!" punch "Again!" punch
"You're just like Atticus! Absolutely ridiculous!" Alexis hissed as she got ready to punch Jaden again
"Go to the dance with me" Jaden said as he got up off the ground, still holding his arm where Alexis had punched him
"Huh?" Alexis was caught off guard and let her fist fall to her side
"Stop punching me and go to the dance with me!" Jaden giggled
"Why would I do that?" Alexis crossed her arms and sighed, still mad
"Because you're not going to go with any of the other boys and you know it" Jaden replied
"True, but you're like other boys too, so I'm not going with you either!" She exclaimed angrily
"You don't have to. But if you're not going with me, then I'm not going. Now come on, I'm starving" Jaden said as he started walking towards the exit
Alexis just stood there, dumbfounded
"Alexis?" Jaden turned and asked
"You only want to go with me?" She asked, putting her hands on her hips
Jaden smiled and laughed
"Yes! I want to go with you!" He crossed his arms
"But… why? There's so many other girls you could take! And I just beat the shit out of you!" She said, still reeling in shock
"I know, it still hurts! And I don't want to take any of the other girls, they're not as fun. Besides, you know you'll have fun with me" He said while giggling
"Do I?" She said, finally cracking a smile while shaking her head
"You don't have to go if you don't want to, just think about it. But while you do, let's go get something to eat. I'm starving!" Jaden exclaimed as he grabbed Alexis by her arm and pulled her out of the Arena with him
A few minutes later in the Cafeteria
Jaden and Alexis entered the Cafeteria, seeing their friends right away
Jaden and Alexis turned to each other as Jaden smiled
"Cut the smile. I'm still mad!" Alexis said as she pushed his face away
"I know! It's cute" he said as he walked past her, towards their friends
Alexis stopped and blushed while grinning
'Asshole' She thought as she bit her lip and walked towards their friends
Jaden sat at a table with Kat, Seto Kaiba, Yugi, Bastion, Téa, and Syrus at it. He sat on the end next to Kat and across from Yugi, both of which were beaming towards him
"So… you and Alexis" Kat said while snickering
"Yeah. She's pissed. Oh well" Jaden said while laughing
"What's she so mad about, anyways?" Syrus asked
"That I'm a show off and risked losing because I didn't end the duel when I could have" Jaden shrugged
"I asked her to the dance" Jaden whispered to Kat, who gasped quietly
"Oh my god! What did she say?" Kat asked while grinning
"Nothing yet. She was mad when I asked, so I told her to just think about it" Jaden whispered back
"That ending was pretty cool, though. Right Kaiba?" Téa said while smiling
"It was alright" Kaiba said with a slight grin
"That means a lot, coming from him" Kat said while giggling
"I like this massive handprint on your cheek, though" Téa laughed as she noticed it
Kat looked to Jaden's other cheek and busted out laughing
"Damn, she got you good!" Kat said while still laughing
"Great duel, Jaden. Very fun to watch, despite the steaks" Yugi said as he shook hands with Jaden
"Thanks, Yugi!" Jaden said while grinning
"Oh! Hey guys!" Yugi said as Joey and Mai walked up to their table
Jaden got up and shook hands with his former opponents
"Great duel! I had so much fun!" Jaden said as he greeted them
"Yeah, us too. You got mad skills, kid!" Joey said
"What got you in so much trouble, anyways?" Mai asked
"Marik" Yugi replied
Joey and Mai both did a knowing nod, like they completely understood
"Wheeler" Kaiba nodded irritably
"Oh god… Kaiba's here?" Joey groaned
"Mhm. Two of em" Kat said, smiling
"Daughter?" Mai asked
"Yep. Kat Kaiba. Nice to meet you!" Kat said as she shook hands with Mai and Joey
"Nicer than your dad I see" Joey said quietly
"Sometimes" Kat winked at Joey, making him uncomfortable and making Mai bust out laughing
"I like you" Mai said as she and Kat grinned at each other
"Let me introduce you to everyone" Jaden said as he, Mai, and Joey got up and walked around
"This is my friend, Syrus Truesdale. He rooms with me in the Slifer dorm"
"This is Bastion Misawa. He's in Ra Yellow. He's basically a genius. You already met Kat and you know everyone else at this table, so onto the next!" Jaden said happily as Mai and Joey followed him, shaking hands with people as he introduces them
"This is Triss Merigold. She's an Obelisk Blue student and has a very special deck" Jaden said with a smile
"I love your hair. You'll have to show me your deck some time!" Mai said as the two girls giggled
"This is Chumley Huffington. He rooms with me and Syrus in Slifer"
"Hello. I love food!" Chumley said which made Mai laugh
"Me too, dude. We should hang out" Joey said while smiling
"This is- "
"I'm Zane Truesdale. Syrus' older brother. I'm Obelisk blue and I'm in my senior year here" Zane introduced himself to Joey and Mai
"People call him the Kaiser" Jaden said while laughing, knowing Zane didn't like that
"This is uh…" Jaden looked at Alexis, who was doing a good job of pretending to be mad
"Alexis Rhodes. People call her 'the Queen of Obelisk Blue.' She's not happy with me at the moment" Jaden said as he pointed to his cheek that had a large hand print on it
"I saw some of that at the Arena. You're pretty. What'd he do to piss you off? Should I kick his ass?" Mai asked as she shook hands with Alexis, which made Triss giggle
"No, he's alright. I already did that" Alexis said while giggling
"You go girl! Don't put up with his shit!" Mai said as she giggled
"Uh huh… moving on, you already know Marik" Jaden said as he pointed to Marik, who was sitting next to Alexis on the end
"Mai. Joey." Marik said as he simply nodded to each of them
"Heard you're causing trouble here already" Joey said with a smirk
"Me? I would never…" Marik said which made Triss and Alexis giggle
"Uh huh. Watch out for him, girls" Mai said seriously as she and Joey went to go sit back down. Jaden winked at Alexis and then followed them, smiling
"What was that about?" Triss whispered while giggling
"He asked me to the dance" Alexis whispered back
"No way!" Triss gasped
"Yep" Alexis sighed
"What'd you say?" Triss leaned in while grinning
"Nothing yet. He said I didn't have to go with him if I didn't want to, but to think about it. Also said he wasn't going with anyone other than me, so if I said no, he wouldn't go" Alexis replied while smiling
"Cute. You should say yes!" Triss giggled
"We'll see. He needs to behave" Alexis giggled back
"How about a duel? Anyone?" Jaden blurted out loudly so both tables could hear him
Kat, Alexis, and Bastion all raised their hands
"4? How about a tag-team duel then?" Kat suggested as she looked around
"Sounds good to me. I want Kat" Bastion said with a smirk
Jaden looked down towards Alexis and grinned while raising his eyebrows up and down repeatedly, which made Alexis throw her plastic fork at him as Triss giggled
Jaden, Alexis, Bastion, and Kat all got up and went to the Arena. Everyone else finished their food before leaving since they said they would wait for everyone
A few minutes later with Jaden and Alexis
Jaden and Alexis were in the waiting room looking through their cards, preparing for their duel
"Alexis, put them in your deck" Jaden handed Alexis the god cards
Alexis gasped
"Are you sure?" She looked up at Jaden
"Yeah. It'll make Marik happy and everyone else will be shocked when you summon one" Jaden grinned
"Ok then… I guess" Alexis said as she took cards out of her deck to replace with the gods
Jaden sat back down and began humming and smiling while looking through his cards
"What… are you humming?" Alexis couldn't place the song
"To make those rainbows in my mind, When I think of you sometime, And I want to spend some time with you" Jaden started singing the tune and Alexis rolled her eyes while smiling
"Just the two of us! We can make it if we try! Just the two of us! (just the two of us!) Building castles in the sky, Just the two of us! You and I!" Jaden had gotten up and was dancing around stupidly while singing which made Alexis laugh uncontrollably
"You're so stupid!" She said as she covered her mouth while laughing
Jaden stopped dancing and singing. He put his hands on his hips and stared at Alexis while grinning from ear to ear
"What?" Alexis asked while smiling back at him
Jaden grabbed his PDA and put on the song "Just the two of us" sung by Bill Withers
Alexis rolled her eyes while looking at Jaden, who was dancing slightly as he moved towards her
"Come here!" Jaden said as he pulled Alexis up off the bench
"Jaden! JADEN!" Alexis giggled as Jaden started dancing with her
"I don't dance!" Alexis said while laughing
"But you are right now! Come on, have some fun. We got a while to wait anyways!" Jaden said as he twirled her around a couple times and shook his hips

Alexis threw her head back while laughing and dancing with Jaden
"Isn't this fun?" Jaden giggled while he was breathing hard from dancing. He was leading and putting in all the work, so it was quite exhausting
"You're pretty good at this" Alexis smiled at Jaden
"Pff. I know!" Jaden laughed as Alexis smacked the backside of his head
The song ended and Jaden and Alexis were still laughing as they both sat down across from each other
They made eye contact while smiling and Jaden started talking again
"Go to the dance with me" He said while grinning
"No!" She replied while giggling
"Why not?" They were both laughing again
"Because!" Was all she said
"Because why!? Come on, that was fun! Come to the dance with me, we'll have a good time. I'll show you how to dance and we'll put everyone else to shame!" Jaden exclaimed which made Alexis roll her eyes and put her head down while giggling
"I would almost never say yes to anyone but…" She said as she picked her head up a minute later
"But?" Jaden asked while grinning
"But… I'll go with you. I don't know why I'm saying yes, but I am!" She said as she started laughing again
"Yes!" Jaden laughed as he put his fist up in the air, which made Alexis laugh even harder
"You're… so stupid" She said while grinning
"What do you mean!? I'm the best!" Jaden grinned
"You're silly! Always care-free! Hardly ever serious about anything, always in fun mode!" Alexis said while grinning
"And you're always super serious! Never in fun mode unless im around! That's why you said yes! You secretly want to be in fun mode but don't know how, admit it!" Jaden said which made them both laugh again
"Yeah… I guess" She said as she loaded her deck into her duel disk
Jaden checked the time on his PDA
"Still got… 5ish minutes… time for another song!" He said which made Alexis groan and giggle
"You pick it" He said while grinning
"Toxic by Britney" she said after a moment pause
"Ohhhh… sassy. I like it" Jaden said while grinning and the song started playing
Jaden got up and grabbed Alexis again while the two were laughing
Jaden spinned around and was using his hips and legs to exaggerate his moves
'He's… pretty good!' Alexis thought as she watched Jaden closely, examining everything about him
"Your turn!" Jaden said as he backed up and let Alexis dance
"Don't laugh at me!" She said as she started dancing
"I would never!" He said as he bowed while panting
Alexis spinned around and crouched at the right times while moving her hips seductively, forgetting that Jaden was even there. While not an expert at dancing, she still pulled off some pretty good moves and looked damn good doing it
'Holy shit…' Jaden thought as he watched Alexis dance to Britney Spear's 'Toxic'
'Down, boy' Yubel said as she watched Alexis dance as well
Alexis stopped dancing and looked at Jaden, who was grinning and had his eyebrows raised
"Uh… how um… how'd I do?" She said while putting her hands on her hips and giggling
Jaden just stared at her since he didn't even hear what she had said. He was still replaying the images of her dancing in his mind
"Uh… Jaden?" Alexis snapped him back to reality
"Hmm?" Jaden said while grinning stupidly
Alexis giggled and covered her mouth while shaking her head
"I asked how I did" She stated
"Oh… really good." He said while eyeing her
"That's all?" She asked while laughing and brushing her hair out of her face
"Very good for someone that doesn't dance. You look good while doing it, too." He said as he raised his eyebrows up and down repeatedly while grinning
Alexis sighed and rolled her eyes
"Boys… all the same" she said as she put her duel disk on her arm
"If I didn't look at that, I'd actually be blind." Jaden said which made them both start laughing
"Fine. You get away with it this time" she said while giggling
"Besides… you checked me out while I was dancing too" Jaden grinned as the two started walking to the Arena
Alexis turned very red and didn't say anything else, pretty much confirming Jaden's statement
As Jaden and Alexis took to their spots in the Arena, Bastion and Kat were already waiting with their friends in the audience
"You two are… sweaty. Whatchu been up to?" Kat snickered
Alexis stammered and blushed
"We… we were uh…" She looked to Jaden for an explanation. She didn't want everyone knowing she danced with Jaden
"Having fun. Why, where's your mind at, Kat?" Jaden asked while grinning
"You know where it's at" Kat grinned as she activated her duel disk
Alexis, Jaden, and Bastion activated theirs as well
"Ladies first?" Bastion asked and Jaden nodded
"You can go first, Alexis" Kat beamed
"DUEL!"
Alexis' Turn:

"Draw!"

Alexis gasped and looked at Jaden
"I just realized… I don't know the chant…" Alexis whispered
"I'll help you if we get to that" Jaden said as Alexis nodded
"This should be good. Jaden and Alexis are goofy together" Triss giggled
"Jaden and anyone make a goofy pair. He's so goofy that he infects everyone around him with it too" Zane said while laughing
"Very true" Syrus said while laughing
"I summon Etoile Cyber in Attack mode!" Atk: 1200 / Def: 1600
A woman with a silver and red suit appeared on the field. She had long, beautiful chestnut hair
"I'll put one card face down and end my turn" Alexis said, looking determined
Kat's Turn:

"Draw!"

As Kat looked at her options, Jaden turned around to look at Marik
Once they made eye contact, Jaden smiled and shook his head toward Alexis
Marik understood and put his thumb up, getting excited
"This will be an interesting duel. Just wait" Marik said as he sat down next to Triss
"I summon Maiden with Eyes of Blue in Attack mode!" Atk: 0 / Def: 0
A young girl with white-silver hair and bright blue eyes appeared in front of Kat
"I'll put two cards face down and end my turn!" Kat said excitedly
Jaden's Turn:
8000 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 6
"I summon Elemental Hero Heat in attack mode!" Atk: 1600 / Def: 1200
A hero with a red, gold, and silver suit appeared
"Heat gains 200 attack for each Elemental Hero on the field including himself, so he has 1800 attack points!" Jaden exclaimed
"I'll throw down two face downs and end my turn!"
Bastion's Turn:

"Draw!"

"I summon Hydrogeddon in attack mode!" Atk: 1600 / Def: 1000
A brown water monster appeared
"Next I'll put one card face down and end my turn"
"Things are about to get interesting" Yugi said

"I summon Blade Skater in attack mode!" Atk: 1400 / Def: 1500
A woman in a purple and silver suit appeared. She has swords on each of her arms
"I'll put another card face down and end my turn"

"I summon White Stone of Legend in defense mode!" Atk: 300 / Def: 250
A glowing white orb levitated just above its card

"I play the spell card Pot of Greed!" Jaden exclaimed as he drew two cards
"I summon Elemental Hero Lady Heat in attack mode!" Atk: 1300 / Def: 1000
"Next I play the spell card Double Summon! This allows me to normal summon once more this turn!" Jaden said excitedly
"I summon Elemental Hero Stratos in attack mode!" Atk: 1800 / Def: 300
A blue and silver Hero entered the field. He had two wings, each having its own rotor.
"I activate his second special ability! I can destroy facedown cards equal to the number of Hero's I control excluding Stratos, and that's 2! So, I pick both of yours, Kat!"
Kat's face downs 'Negate Attack' and 'Staunch Defender' exploded
"Alright Jay!" Alexis beamed
"That's… pretty bad, Bastion" Kat said sadly
"Don't worry about it!" Bastion said happily
"Stratos! Destroy Hydrogeddon!" Jaden ordered
Stratos dashed forward and slashed through Bastion's water monster, destroying it
"Heat and Lady Heat! Attack Bastion directly! Since I have 3 Hero's, Heat's attack is 2200!" Jaden yelled
Lady Heat sent a flame beam towards Bastion while Heat sent a flame wave
"I end my turn with that. Lady Heat will deal 200 points of damage for each Hero I have, which is 3! So that's 600 damage!" Jaden grinned
Lady Heat conjured 3 fireballs and sent them towards Bastion and Kat
Bastion's Turn:
3800 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 5
"That was really smart of Jaden, destroying the face downs with Stratos instead of drawing the card. His hand is small, but they have a massive lead now thanks to him stopping Kat from getting a bunch of her Blue Eyes' out" Triss beamed
"I summon Hydrogeddon in defense mode!" Atk: 1600 / Def: 1000
"I place 3 cards face down and end my turn" Bastion said smugly
"Those must be able to keep him and Kat safe for a while" Chumley stated
Alexis' Turn:

"Draw!"
Hand Size: 4
"Umm… Jay? Mind if I borrow your Hero's?" Alexis asked sweetly, which made Jaden's heart melt
"Whatever you need!" He replied
"Alright… here goes." Alexis tried to get her breathing under control
Marik stood up and walked to the railing in excitement
"I sacrifice Blade Skater, Etoile Cyber, and Elemental Hero Stratos!" Alexis said as the monsters disappeared
"Wait… she has a triple tribute monster in her deck? Even I didn't know that" Triss asked, confused
"I summon Slifer the Sky Dragon in attack mode!" Atk: X000 / Def: X000
All their friends in the audience stood up and gasped
The arena's ceiling turned to a dark sky. Lightning struck the arena as Slifer descended from the Heavens and roared
"Uhh… what?" Kat asked, dumbfounded
"I have 3 cards in my hand, so Slifer gets 3000 attack and defense!" Alexis squealed happily
Jaden grinned
"Get em, girl!" He called to Alexis
"Slifer! Destroy Hydrogeddon!" Alexis roared
Slifer charged up his beam and shot Hydrogeddon with it, destroying it
"Not good…" Bastion said aloud
"I end my turn!" Alexis did a little dance from excitement
"I thought only select people could command the God cards?" Joey asked Yugi
"She is one of those select people" Marik said to everyone
"This is crazy!" Triss said as she leaned over the rail next to Marik
Kat's Turn:
3800 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 5
"I sacrifice my White Stone of Legend and Maiden with eyes of blue!" Kat said as her monsters disappeared
"I also activate White Stone of Legend's special ability, which lets me draw 'Blue Eyes White Dragon' from my deck!" Kat said as she fished out the card
"Now I summon Blue Eyes White Dragon in defense mode!" Atk: 3000 / Def: 2500
As soon as Blue Eyes appeared, Slifer shot it with his second mouth's beam
"Whenever a monster is summoned, Slifer takes away 2000 of its attack or defense points depending on which position you summoned them in!" Jaden exclaimed
"Oh right…" Kat said as she remembered Slifer's special ability
Blue Eyes White Dragon Atk: 3000 / Def: 500
"I place two cards facedown and end my turn"
Jaden's Turn:
8000 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 3
"I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman in attack mode!" Atk: 1600 / Def: 1400
A blue hero appeared in front of Jaden, bringing Heat's attack to 2200. The blue hero had electricity crackling from its hands
"Alright… time to end this! Sparkman, attack Bastion directly!" Jaden ordered
"I activate my trap card: Negate Attack!" Bastion revealed a facedown
"I activate my face down, Trap Jammer!" Jaden said smugly
"By discarding one card from my hand, I can stop your Negate Attack!" Jaden said as he discarded one of his two remaining cards
Sparkman sent a bolt of lightning towards Bastion, shocking him
"Heat! Attack him!" Jaden yelled
"I activate my face down, Draining Shield! This let's me stop your monster's attack and absorb his attack points as LP!" Bastion roared
Bastion/Kat LP: 2300 – 4500
"Fine. Lady Heat, attack him!" Jaden said, annoyed
Lady Heat sent a flame beam towards Bastion
"I end my turn. Now Lady Heat will deal 600 points of damage to you!"
Lady Heat conjured 3 fireballs and hurled them towards Kat and Bastion
"That play that Jaden made with Stratos early just completely crushed Kat" Mai stated
"She's very good, but still has a lot to learn" Seto Kaiba replied
Bastion's Turn:
2400 LP
"Draw!"
Hand Size: 2
"I play the spell card Pot of Greed!" Bastion said as he drew two cards
"I place two cards face down and end my turn"
Bastion looked to Kat and shrugged
"Can't summon anything with Slifer around" He said
"Tell me about it" Kat sighed
Alexis' Turn:

"Draw!"
Hand Size: 4
"Since I have 4 cards in hand, Slifer's attack goes up to 4000!"
"Slifer! Attack Bastion and end this duel!"
"Not yet! I play mirror force!" Bastion revealed one of his face downs
"I activate Solemn Judgement!" Alexis revealed her face down as well
"By paying half of our life points, I can stop your trap!" Alexis yelled
"I uh… I got nothing" Bastion laughed
"Happens! At least you did better than me!" Kat laughed with him
Slifer charged his beam and hit Bastion with it, ending the duel
"Yay! We won!" Alexis cheered as she ran over to Jaden
"Told you! Best tag-team!" Jaden replied as they both laughed
"Oh! Here" Alexis handed Jaden the god cards
"Good job! Slifer was a good pick there" Jaden beamed
"Thanks!" Alexis smiled as they shook hands with their opponents
"Man… you just crushed me early on with Stratos. No way for me to do anything after that, you basically destroyed my entire opening hand with one card!" Kat complemented
"Yeah… I got lucky, drawing him that turn" Jaden smiled
Kat pulled Jaden to the side a bit while Alexis spoke with Bastion and their friends made their way to the Arena
"So… when you guys came out…" Kat snickered
"We had been dancing, but don't tell her I told you or she'll probably kill me" Jaden said sheepishly
"Awh! So cute! Did she say if she's going with you to the dance or not?" Kat asked quietly
"Yeah, she's gonna go. I managed to convince her after we danced a bit and had some fun, but it's nothing more than that" Jaden said with a big grin
"For now" Kat whispered back
"That duel was so good! I didn't know you could summon and use the god cards!" Triss squealed as she hugged Alexis
"Yeah… when did you guys figure that out, anyways?" Kat asked as everyone grouped around them
"Uh… Wednesday night. Marik had us test it, and it worked. So, we just rolled with it today" Alexis said proudly
"That's awesome!" Syrus beamed
Just then, Chazz entered the arena and looked at everyone
"I'm guessing… I just missed a duel" Chazz said while smiling
"Yep! A good one too!" Alexis replied
As everyone talked amongst each other about the duel and other events of the day and the dance coming up, Jaden and Alexis floated away from the main group as did Triss and Chazz
"So, uh… I wanted to ask…" Chazz stumbled a bit as he tried talking to Triss
"Mhm?" Triss smiled as she watched the boy stumble on his words
"I was gonna ask… and you can say no, of course… but I was wondering if… you'd like to… go to the dance?... with me?" Chazz finally managed to get his question out which made Triss giggle
"Sure, I'll go with you, big guy. But we still have to go on our date before that!" Triss beamed
"True! That's this weekend! I'm so excited!" Chazz said as he and Triss got up and started walking
"Me too! Where are we going?" Triss asked as she got close to Chazz
"Don't want to ruin the surprise" Chazz smirked
"It better be good then!" Triss giggled
"It will" Chazz laughed
With Jaden and Alexis
"You did really good!" Jaden high fived Alexis
"Thanks! You did all the heavy lifting though! You crushed Kat with Stratos early and then did almost all of the damage! That was awesome!" They laughed as they walked
Jaden lightly pushed Alexis with his arm and grinned at her. Alexis made eye contact with him and smiled back at him, then pushed him with her arm as well. This turned into them just pushing the shit out of each other until Alexis knocked Jaden down
"Ha! I win!" Alexis stuck her tongue out at Jaden and giggled as she stuck her hand out to help him up
Jaden smiled evilly and grabbed her hand and yanked her down on the ground too
"Hey! Not fair!" Alexis squealed as she punched Jaden in the arm again while they both broke out into laughter
Jaden pushed himself up off the ground and stuck out his hand to Alexis to help her up. She reached for his hand and then pulled him down while giggling, but Jaden landed on top of her
"Hello there" Jaden said as their noses touched and they looked into each other's eyes
"Get off! They're probably watching!" Alexis whispered as she shoved Jaden hard and he started laughing
"If that's all you're worried about…" Jaden said while laughing
"Gross! Shut up! You know I meant!" Alexis blushed scarlet
"I do… but it's way more fun to tease you." Jaden grinned
Alexis' face got serious as she put her hands on her hips
"Behave!" She said as she squinted her eyes at him
"Yes ma'am" Jaden giggled which made Alexis start giggling too
"You're so stupid" Alexis said as she started laughing harder

That's it for this chapter guys, hope you enjoyed it. I spent several days just trying to decide what I wanted to do with this chapter. Who were Jaden's opponents going to be, was it going to be a really tough duel, was Jaden going to use the god cards. I decided to play around with a few ideas and also introduce Joey and Mai, who are married in my story. Initially I was just going to end the chapter shortly after the duel but I got this idea for a school dance that I thought would be fun so I just kept going with the chapter and it all fell naturally in place, at least to me.
The dance will just be an entirely extra chapter (maybe I'll make it two for Triss/Chazz to have their own) that won't have anything too important for the plot in it. I just wanted to have a fun chapter where I can put lots of jokes and romance in it. I have some funny plans for characters like Kat and Marik for the dance and really look forward to that. The dance chapter will be either chapter 12 or 13, since I have a few things I want to setup before that
