Yusei lew through the night air, carrying Laura, who was half asleep in his arms. Yusei landed on the balcony and used one of his wings to slide the back open. Being careful not to knock anything over or trip, Yusei walked into the bedroom. The scent of lavender oil filling his senses and calming his body, Yusei placed Laura on the bed. He gently cupped her delicate face and blushed when Laura leaned into his touch.

A moment later, her eyes fluttered opened. Gazing back at Yusei with warm in her deep brown eyes.

"Yusei?"

"Shhh...go back to sleep. I'll see you again tomorrow." Yusei said as he pulled his hand back.

"You mean your leaving?" Laura asked sadly.

"You don't want me to go?"

"No..." Laura answer shaking her head.

"I hate being by myself at night. I hate being alone...that's how always feel at night...alone..."

"I know...I hate that too...Would you like me stay with you?" Yusei asked.

At that question, Laura blushed brightly. Unsure of how to answer. Yusei laughed softly before kissing Laura on the forehead and placing his on hers. Mere inches away from her lips which he had tasted before. Night sky blue met golden brown as the two gazed at each other. Yusei smiled warmly as he whispered.

"Laura...you don't have to be afraid...I would never touch you unless to allowed me too. Your special to me...and I wouldn't pressure you to do something your not ready for. I love you that much."

Laura gasped at the sudden confession. Yet Yusei smile was unfazed as backed away from Laura some.

"Are you that surprised? I've loved you since before we met. Ever since I watched you the first time...I could feel a warmth grow inside me. A kind of warmth that I've never felt with anyone. Your the person I love...it doesn't matter to me that your human...then again perhaps I was too forward."

"You just, caught me off guard...I've never experienced a romantic love before." Laura said.

"I see...it's okay you don't have to answer me now...I'd told you I'd let you think it over." Yusei said.

"Yusei, stay with me...please?" Laura asked.

Yusei answered her by laying down on the bed next to her and pulling her into his embrace. Yusei closed his eyes and smiled as he took in Laura's scent. It was sweet even though it held the scent of salt water. Laura smiled as well. She couldn't remember the last time she felt so safe. Feeling bold, Laura leaned up and placed a gentle kiss on Yusei's lips. Which he quickly returned, surprised but happy.

"Ah...that was nice..." Yusei whispered as they broke apart.

"What was?" Laura asked.

"Getting a kiss from you...it's something I've been wanting for a while..."

"Um..."

"Don't worry...I said I won't pressure you and I promise you that. I swear I'm content just being with you...thank you..." Yusei whispered as he fell asleep.

"Oh, Yusei...I don't know what I'm gonna do...I think I might actually fall for you if this keeps up." Laura said before drifting off as well.

The next day, Laura woke up to find Yusei gone from her side. A note left in his place.

"Sorry for leaving before you woke up. I had to go before the sun came up.

Thank you for letting me stay with you last night. It made me happier than I had been in a long time.

I'll see you again tonight.

Yusei."

Laura smiled as she picked up the note and set it on her bed side table. She then got a shower, dressed and headed off to work. The whole time, she couldn't stop thinking about Yusei as she worked in the café and the burger shop. As night began to fall, Laura quickly finished up her shift and went home. As soon as Laura got to her building, she ran up the stairs to her apartment.

The apartment was dark when Laura unlocked and opened the door. Something felt unsettling as she walked inside and closed the door. Laura looked up to see a figure standing in her living room. She could tell from the silhouette that it was a man. His hair was long and spikey. Colored sliver and shined in the moonlight that came in through the window. A moment later he turned around and shimmering sunset orange eyes stared at Laura.

Making her gasp before the man smiled and spoke.

"Good evening. I must say it's pleasure to meet you, Laura. Yusei has good taste."

"A-are you...a friend of his?" Laura asked nervously.

The man frowned as he answered.

"No, I'm not. You could say I'm his enemy."

"His enemy?" Laura asked.

"Yes...You see I'm the leader of the vampire hunters. A group of demons who have the power to shape shift and create spells and illusions. Yusei is the prince of the vampires and for a few years we've been fighting each other for many reasons...like you for example." The man explained as he walked closer to Laura.

"Why me?" Laura asked as the man backed her into the door.

"Because he likes you. And that angers me because I like you as well. Your special, you know that?...it takes a very special women to attract a vampire and a vampire hunter. I like you, very much."

"But you don't even know me. And I don't know you."

"Oh...how rude me. I should have introduced myself. My name is Katsuma. You think Yusei is the only one who watches you? I've been keeping an eye on you too. And I must say, your an amazing person."

Katsuma placed both arms between Laura's head and leaned close.

"I think I'll barrow you for a little while...I'm sure Yusei won't mind..."

In one swift motion, Katsuma kissed Laura and placed a sleeping spell on her as he did so. After a moment, Katsuma broke the kiss while Laura passed out in his arms. Katsuma smirk before leaving a note and carrying Laura away in his arms. An hour later Yusei appeared at Laura's apartment and noticed the door was open with a note on the table. Yusei's eyes went wide the moment he read it.

"I've barrowed your princess for a while.

Come and get her back before I get to bored, otherwise I might have some fun with her.

Katsuma."

"Katsuma's taken your mate?" Asked Jack who appeared out of no where behind Yusei.

"If only I'd gotten here earlier. Those damn demons I was fighting before were stalling for him!" Yusei said as crushed the note in his hand.

"I'm assuming your going to get her back no matter how much I warn you. Katsuma is no one to screw with Yusei. He kills vampires to wipe them out and rapes their mates, just for the hell of it! Then he kills them when he's bored! He kills slowly...he torchers his captives for entertainment. " Jack explained

"All the more reason I have to go and save Laura, before it's too late."

"Well, we better get a move on then, his hide on is an old manor on the edge of town."

"We?" Yusei asked with his brow arched.

"You don't honestly expect me to let you go alone now do you? Just don't forget, you owe me. Come on now, let's go."

"Thanks Jack." Yusei said with a nod before the two vampires spread their wings and took flight.

Yusei vowing to save Laura with an image of her in his mind.
