jc: it is finally the end of the story!
animepup: I know right, it took us a year to finish this series *fail*
jc: yeah, well we lost interest in this one because the anime is hard to get back into...
animepup: yea...so apologies to the readers who've been so patient and wanting to read this fanfic
jc: we know we rushed things to the ending but because of school and other fics that caught our interest, we decided to finish this one as fast as we could
animepup: also because this was our first fic together, we wanted to finish it
jc: so pls, enjoy the last chapter of "Earl and Fairy: A Twist In Fate"
RECAP:
"However…" My head snapped up to face my mom again. Why does she sound so serious?
"You will have to make a choice. Whether you would like to stay here, or join your friends again." She holds out the key.
"...Wait...What?"
Alice's POV
"...What are you saying, mom?" She looks at me sadly.
"This key is the gate to the human world, but it is also linked to your life."
"….Excuse me?" I blink in confusion.
"That wound you received could have been fatal for Unseelie does not mix with fairy. Fortunately, the charm on the key saved you, thus shortening its life span. It only has enough power to open the gate one more time." I looked into her eyes…They seem so lonely…
"Mom? I'll stay here with you…" I sniffled as tears streamed down my face. I couldn't leave her again…It must have been so hard for her to lose her husband, and now she might lose her daughter too…
I guess this means I'll never see any of them again…and Raven…
"…Alice? Look at me." I slowly raised my head.
"Honey, I don't want you to do this for me. Please do what you feel is right for you." She smiled and pulled me back into a hug.
"Mom I-"
"Shhh, it's ok. I see your heart has made the choice for you." She winks at me as she places the key back in my hand and I felt my face flush.
"And remember, even if we don't see each other, I will always love you…" She gave me one last smile and slowly faded away. It hurt to see her leave but…maybe, just maybe, the day will come when I can see her again…
"Alice!" I crack open my eyes to see…Raven's bright emerald eyes boring into mine. My face turned bright red as I frantically scrambled out of his arms.
"Are you ok?" I craned my neck see Edgar and Lydia running towards us along with...Kelpie!? And Scarlett?!
"You're alive!" I exclaimed in surprise.
"Well this perv saved me," Scarlett replies looking away...Is she blushing?...Tee-hee...
"Are you alright?" I turned back to Raven and he stared at me worriedly.
"You were hurt!?" Scarlett asked, shocked.
"No, no, never mind that, you're covered in blood! And that scar on your neck...It's gone!" I pointed out and she immediately puts a hand up to her neck and her eyes widen in shock. Then she tells us what had happened.
"I see...Maybe it was because you let out so much blood that your fae was released. You were injected with it right?" Lydia deducted.
"Maybe, but I'm half frigging horse fairy now," She scowls playfully.
"You make it sound like it's a bad thing," Kelpie scoffs. We all laugh at the pair.
"Anyways, Alice. What happened to you? You just suddenly collapsed!" Lydia turned back to me.
"Well…" I explained everything to them and they all looked at me sympathetically.
"I'm sure you'll see her again." Lydia gave me a sad smile and hugged me.
"Thank you…" I replied and took out and held it above my head. The mansion started to fade then the next thing I knew, we were back at the manor.
"...We're back." I said.
LATER...
I get on a carriage with Edgar, Lydia, and Raven. I don't know why but apparently Edgar wanted to talk to Lydia about something. Scarlett decided to continue working under Edgar, but she didn't come along with us in the carriage because she said she had something to do. I wonder *yawn* what was about...Zzzz…
SOMEWHERE ELSE...
Scarlett's POV
I walk out of a bush and stare at Kelpie's broad back.
"Oh? Are you so in love with me that you can't wait for a few hours to see me again?" He turns around and grins cockily.
"Please, we both know that's not true," I scoffed but wrapped my arms around his neck as his arms go around my waist.
"I never got to thank you properly did I?" I breathed out and leaned in till our lips touched. I broke the kiss and smiled.
"You realize being my mate is hard work right? You'll need to learn how to keep up," He smirks haughtily.
"I am for certain I can keep up, but..." I return the smirk and leaned in closer again but stopped and let go of him just as fast.
"I'm still working at the manor~ So you'll have to be a good boy and wait for a while longer," I teased patting my ass before running away.
BACK IN THE CARRIAGE...
Alice's POV
...Mm...I slowly start to open my eyes. Did I fall asleep again? I pretend to still be asleep but I peek open one eye just enough to see Edgar leaning into Lydia and well, you know what happens next *wink**wink**hint**hint* *pervy smile*.
"Alice," I snap my eyes open. That's when I realize that I had fallen asleep on Raven's shoulder.
"S-Sorry!" I spluttered nervously before he cut me off.
"Forgive me...But allow me forget my duties as a servant just this once," His eyes bore into mine. Before I could comprehend what he had just said…
He kissed me.
Aaaaannnddd…..my brain stopped working. He ended the kiss just as quickly and stared out the window uncertainly. Once I got over the shock, I start grinning like an idiot.
"You know...You should forget your duties as a servant more often," I wrapped my arms around his neck and pecked him on the cheek. He smiled at me, only this time, it wasn't hinged with sadness. Instead, it was warm and comforting.
