Hello to everyone who reads N7 SHIELD, I'd like to take a moment and say thank you for being patient as well as reading my work. I made a few mistakes last chapter by saying Shepard has blond hair, well, she doesn't. She has black hair. Apologies for that. But, I'm doing the best that I can, knowing I'm not the best writer nor that I ever will be. But, I'm continuing my work regardless. As for the ship between FemShep and Captain America… Well I love Captain America. I mean A LOT, A LOT! (I do love Kaidan Alenko as well… Possible fight between them in the future? Maybe….)
Chapter Ten
Shepard pulled Rogers into her quarters with a large yank, smiling as he wrapped his arms around her. Shepard slammed him into the wall next to the door. Rogers shimmied off his white t-shirt, pulling Shepard's tank top over her head, kissing her neck. He laced his fingers through her thick hair, nibbling her earlobe. Rogers pushed Shepard back to her cot in the corner of the room, gently laying her down across the covers. Gently grabbing her neck, drawing her in for a passionate kiss hearing her give off a small moan. Shepard probed his back with her fingernails, lightly scratching him. Rogers's dog tags dangled down in front of Shepard's face, smacking her lazily as he moved. Shepard grabbed his dog tags, throwing them behind him, hearing them jingle against his back. Rogers began to unzip her pants, pulling them down her slim legs. He kissed her chest, stroking her long legs.
"So soft," He whispered, stroking her muscular feminine petite arms. Shepard began to shimmy down Rogers pants, but she stopped herself, sitting right up placing her hands on her forehead.
"What's wrong?" He asked her, wrapping arms around her like a blanket. She pushed him away only slightly, before allowing him back wrapping himself around her. Rogers brushed his fingers against her back, feeling the small scars. His fingers came to a halt on her lower back, feeling a large thump. Shepard shivered at the feel of his cold fingers so close to her lower sections. Scars covered her visible body, soft pink raised skin. Rogers wanted to kiss all her scars away. He moved back to the large hard lump on her back, lightly touching it with his fingertips.
"What happened here?" He asked, poking at the scared lump on her back. Shepard sighed knowing this conversation was inevitable. Her past, their possible future, she had to tell him.
"It's a long story," Shepard said letting out an enormous sigh. How was she supposed to tell him that she died, twice? Sitting straight up, she looked at Rogers, stroking his cheek with an open hand before turning back to straight at the ground.
"That bump on my back is an implant, this certain implant was used to bring me back to life." Shepard left it at that, looking over at Rogers. He continued to rub her shoulders with his large hands, until he had processed what she said, freezing in place.
"To bring you back to life?" He asked, pulling slightly away from her. Shepard sighed again, knowing this conversation was going to be incredibly difficult. She still hadn't told him about Kaidan. Even though both Kaidan and her had gone their separate ways, she still felt for him. The connection was there till Kaidan had told her he wanted them to be just friends. How can you be friends with someone who you've slept with? Someone you loved? There's no possible way. Shepard distanced herself from nearly everyone except Garrus. He had told her to get out more, the Reapers had been defeated and she should celebrate. Only, she didn't feel like celebrating. She wanted to be with Kaidan, but he had cast her aside like yesterday's meal. Shepard sighed again, she missed her friends, her home. She looked back to Rogers who was waiting for an explanation.
"Shortly after I defeated a rogue Spectre Saren Arterius, he was an alien who hated humans. He turned out working for an ancient machine race known as the Reapers. The Reapers cleansed the universe every 50,000 years of organic life to bring peace to possible and ongoing conflict between organs and synthetic life. My ship had been dispatched to the Terminus System to investigate possible pockets of synthetic life called the Geth who still loyal to Saren and the Reapers. My ship was caught in a surprise attack, I lost over twenty of my crew; the ship was destroyed with me on board. My envirosuit armor was punctured by shrapnel, oxygen began to pour out of my suit. I suffocated in space, my body hit the atmosphere of a nearby planet, causing ninety percent of my body to have third degree burns. A terrorist group called Cerberus was given my body by a good friend, Liara. They promised her that they would restore me, bring me back to life." Shepard said taking a slow deep breath, looking at Rogers who just sat there and stared as he listened.
"Cerberus succeeded, using cutting edge technology and cybernetics. I was dead for two years, clinically brain dead. I'm part machine, I have several implants. The one you can feel on my back was implanted by Cerberus. This specific implant increases my reflexes, my healing and my strength. Another implant I have in is in my brain, that implant increases the endurance of my biotics. My left hand," Shepard lifted up her left arm, showing off her hand to Rogers, "The skeleton is metal, I lost my hand during the Battle of Earth against the Reapers. I went into cardiac arrest, but my good friend Tali wouldn't accept me dying again. She used her omnitool function that overloads shields to reboot my heart." There it was, the truth was out there, granted it was wish washed but she had told him; bout her death, Cerberus, the Reapers. She'd have to tell him the rest later, it was the possible future for them, and she felt obligated to warn them. Shepard waited for Rogers to stop starring at her, so she starred right back at him. Crossing her arms across her chest. He finally did, grabbing her shoulders and gave her hug. She returned it deeply, she was growing to love Rogers. The few months she's been on the ship, she's enjoyed his presence. Rogers let go off her, laying down next to her.
"Damn, I thought my story was bad. I was frozen for nearly seventy years. Everyone I had known is dead. Our lives aren't the prettiest pictures, they've shaped us into who we are now." Shepard laughed at him, some of the things that came out of his mouth just made her roll her eyes and shake her head.
"We go together," He whispered, the joking nature out of his voice completely. The serious tone brought Shepard out of her trance of his gawkiness. Shepard turned back to the almost nude Rogers, who was staring at her. His big blue eyes beckoning for her to kiss his precious lips.
"What?" She asked him, still a little dazed. She had heard him, but she wanted to hear him say it again.
"We go together. It may be a little corny, but, we go together. You're from the future, I'm from the past; we go together somehow in the prescient. Every minute I've spent with you, I've enjoyed it. After losing someone from being too shy and not wanting to say anything to the person I cared about at the time. I'm not taking any chances anymore, I'm going to tell the people that I care about that I love them. Like that I love you. We've only known each other for several months but, I'm genuinely happy. When you first tested your suit flight capabilities with Stark, I watched from a computer monitor of his live camera feed. You just about killed me with a panic attack when your suit lost power from the defective Arc reactor, I've never been so happy to hear Stark's voice when he said you were okay." Rogers placed a calloused hand on Shepard's cheek. Shepard swallowed hard, she had never told anyone that she loved them like he just did so openly. She was always diplomatic on telling people how she felt, like she did with Kaidan. She didn't get a chance to tell him how she felt before she died the first time and their relationship came to a grinding halt. She silently agreed with Rogers, not taking any chances anymore.
"The few months that I've been on this ship, I loved every single minute with you. Meeting you was the best thing that's ever happened to me." Shepard and Rogers smiled at each other, embracing each other in a sensual hug.
"I love you Mister Steve Rogers." Shepard whispered in his ear lightly making him shiver.
"And I love you Miss Kyra Shepard." He whispered back just as deviously as Shepard.
Shepard's computer terminal on the small desk on the far side of the room chimed, lighting up the room. Nick Fury's face filled the screen,
"Sorry to interrupt but we you both to come up to the bridge immediately." His face disappeared as the call was shut off from Shepard. She held the cord to the computer in her hand, a devious smile erupting from her lips. Rogers looked at her in disbelieve that she had cut off the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Before he had a chance to complain that she had cut off Fury, there was a knock at the door. Both of them froze, waiting for the second knock.
Knock, knock, knock.
"Seriously guys, we gotta go to the bridge. The techy dudes think they might have found our man Loki." Stark's voice rang through the room. Rogers and Shepard's eyes locked for a few seconds, they both scurried to get their clothes back on. They slipped on their boots and dashed out to the elevator. Stark stood silently in the corner of the elevator, a wild haired Rogers stood next to him, Shepard tried her best not to smile at the awkward situation brewing in the elevator. The doors opened to the heaven of the bridge showing the large crew behind large amounts of computer. Black Widow, Coleson, and Fury stood next to one of the crewmembers computer monitors, images flashing across the screen.
"We think found him sir," The crewmember said, checking the computer screen again.
"Loki isn't exactly hiding," Coleson said, looking over to the team of people to see Rogers's hair in disarray. His eyes widened slightly before turning back to the computer screen. Rogers only smiled, leaning over to Shepard bumping her with his shoulder. Stark watched them, rolling his eyes heading over to look at the screen.
"It's an eighty-nine percent chance of being Loki sir, location in Stuttgart, Germany. He's attending a formal charity party? That can't be right." The tech said looking at his screen in confusing, double checking his work.
"Don't matter, this is the best lead we have. We're going for it." Fury turned to his team, placing a hand on Shepard's shoulder.
"Suit up, you're with them." Shepard nodded, leaving alone side her new lover and Stark down the main docking back to retrieve her newly installed suit.
"I made an all new Arc Reactor for your suit, you won't have to worry about any more in flight delays. Unless there's an EMP, then we're both screwed." The elevator came to grinding halt as they came to Stark's work shop.
"Welcome back sir." The mechanical voice rang out, reminding Shepard all to well of EDI. Stark guided Shepard over to her suits platform, machine began to attach pieces of the armor as soon as Stark stepped down from the platform. Rogers called up to Shepard over the machines doing their job.
"You be careful will you?" He yelled over the machines. Shepard smiled, nodded and kissed the air in his direction.
"I'll see you on the far side." Rogers blew a kiss to her, turning around heading out of the docking bay. Both Shepard and Stark had their suits ready to go, only thing missing was their helmets. Shepard stepped down from her platform, her suit making heavy clunking sounds as she walked over to Stark. He turned to face her, his helmet in one hand, hers in the other. Shepard took her helmet from him, flicking her head around to get her hair out of the way, she slid on the helmet. Blue shined as the suit's helmet powered up.
"Checking suit diagnostics, this suit is ready for battle." The same mechanical voice ran through the helmets com system.
"Checking, checking. One, two." Rogers and Stark both checked their coms at the same time making a loud ringing system flood the comm.
"Uhh yeah no!" Stark yelled into the comm. Shepard rolled her eyes at him.
Hearing the familiar toe curling noise of the docking bay doors opening to reveal the beautiful sun setting. Shepard walked over to the edge of the docking bay, took a deep breath and jumped out of the bay.
