2 years later...
Freddie rubbed the sleep out of his eyes as the buzzing noise off us phone on the bedside table woke him up. The comforter had long been kicked to the floor, the hot July air causing the room to feel sticky. Freddie, became confused when he noticed the left side of the bed was empty.
He reached over grabbing the his phone, a grin spread across his phase when a photo of Sam in one of his old polo shirts with her hair tied up in a pony tail and pulling a funny face at the camera popped up on the screen.
'Do you know that the person you ring when your drunk says a lot about you,' mused Freddie when he answered the phone.
'Yes,' hiccuped Sam- she was very much drunk, 'it means that it's the Fourth of July, and there isn't a taxi to be seen,'
'Where you at babe?' He asked, climbing out of bed, pulling his hoody on and shoving his feet into his converse before heading into the kitchen to grab his keys off the Worktop in the kitchen.
A few things had changed in the apartment from Sam moved back from L.A. Opening a babysitting service in Seattle. A cooker had been installed, mismatched cutlery had been purchased and the cold toupee walls had been replaced with a burnt orange.
'The burger joint around the corner,' she replied.
'I'm on my way,' he said jumping into his car, 'I love you Sam,' he smirked, he could almost feel her smile spread through the phone.
'Love you too, nub,' she said affectionately.
When Freddie pulled up outside the burger joint he couldn't help but laugh at the sight, Sam was in a bright pink dress that obviously Carly had forced her into, and a glittering tiara was slipping off her head. He assumed the whole thing was meant to be ironic.
His mother went to open the passenger door, before glancing over at Sam and shrugging and laughing it off before climbing to the back seat if the car, Carly waddled in after before Sam climbed in to the front seat.
'Princess Puckett?' He asked, tapping his finger against the tiara.
'Queen Benson,' she corrected, before hiccuping.
'Ill just call you Queen B.' He laughed, leaning across to place a Chaste kiss on her lips. 'I am sorry but that has to be the ugliest dress I have ever seen,'
'I know it's fantastic isn't it,' grinned Sam, before taking a big bite of the cheese Burger she'd bought before he'd arrived, she glanced it before glancing at her fiancé, 'want some,' she asked around a mouth full of meet.
'You really do love me don't you,' he chuckled, rubbing the tomato ketchup off the side of her mouth with his thumb, holding it to her mouth. Her tongue darted out to clean it, before she nodded her head manically, holding the burger towards Freddie's mouth. He rolled his eyes taking attentive bite, ' oh my god,' he groaned at the tastiness of the meat, going to take another bite only to have same pull it away.
'Okay I don't love you that much,' Sam argues, taking a massive bite off her burger.
'Wheres the rest of the bachelorettes,' he questioned with a roll of his eyes.
'They all flaked, your mom and pregnant Carly out lasted them,' explained Sam, 'by the way Carly, for my next bachelorette party you can't be pregnant,' she informed with another hiccup.
'I promise,' yawned Carly, 'I will be very un pregnant at your next bachelorette party,' she leaned her head against Mrs Benson, 'in fact, I'll be very un pregnant at your wedding'
'At you next bachelorette party?' Freddie Arched his eyebrow.
'Bachelorette party, Friday night on the town, really what's the difference?' She asked.
'Not much,' he agreed snorting.
'Dont snort it's not very Lady like,' Sam corrected, as Olivia came running out of the burger joint and hoping in the back off the car.
'You work wifey might just have met her real wifey,' she grinned pulling out her phone and showing Freddie, the number of numbers she and gained over the past couple of hours.
'Well that one way to get over a break up,' agreed Freddie.
'No this was a bachelorette game,' grinned Olivia. 'Whats the final count ladies,'
'Zero, apparently pregnant woman is not a very appealing thought,' spoke Carly sleepily.
'I got nine' smiled Olivia proudly
'Twelve, on yeah mamma plays to win,' gloated Sam.
'Fourteen, I so believe I win,' interjected Mrs Benson. 'Theres a lot of young men out their clearly with mommy issues,'
'Way to go Mrs B.' Exclaimed Sam.
'Its Marissa dear,' corrected Mrs Benson.
'Who the hell came up with this idea!' Asked Freddie horrified
'Your mother,' answered Sam, doe eyed, before a hiccup escaped. She covered her mouth with her left hand causing Freddie's eyes to widen slightly.
'Sam,' he asked slowly grabbing her hand, 'where is your engagement ring,'
Sam grabbed her hand back off Freddie, her eyes widening even more.
'Crap!' She cried 'Crap, crap, crap!'
'Sam please tell me...' He warned, as Sam opened the glove compartment off the car and pulling out the jewellery box holding the ring before slipping it on her finger, 'that was not funny,'
The cluster diamond glittered under the street light as she flicked her hair back.
'I'm not an idiot, you on the other hand are for falling for that,' Sam hiccuped once again, 'Freddie, stop moving,'
'I'm not moving,' Freddie told her confused.
'Now there's three of you, which ones the middle one,'
'Okay time to get you home Samantha,' laughed Freddie, pulling out onto the road.
'I'm a Charlotte, you're Jewish right?' She argued back, not realising that he hand just been calling her by her full name and not referring to the 'sex and the city' character.
'I'm whatever you want me to be,' murmured Freddie, 'just not in two month time on the beach in Italy, We are both devoted Catholics and are getting married by a priest,'
'Yeah yeah yeah, we've already commented the ultimate sin on every surface in the apartment,' Freddie glanced into the back seat, relieved his mother had the grace to pretend she was asleep, 'right now I want you to be a pillow,' he laughed, as she attempted to lay her head on his shoulder.
'I love you Sam,' he whispered, she opened on eye looking up at him.
' I love you more,' she replied.
'Doubt it,' was his response.
And they lived happily ever after.
Thee end.
