Chapter 8
Ralph and Sora sat on the graham cracker in frustration.
"You know, if you would get up, I could swing on the cracker," pouted Sora. Ralph rolled his eyes.
"Help yourself, kid," he sighed, getting up. "Might as well have fun."
"Ugh!" Sora yelled, swinging. "We didn't do anything!"
"I'm not surprised that I'm in the slammer," said Ralph, leaning on the wall. "But, I can't believe that I'm in a cell made out of candy! Thrown by donuts."
"What is up with that King Candy?" wondered Sora. "He looks so familiar. The way how he was holding my Keyblade…"
"That little brat!" growled Ralph. "I worked hard for that medal and she stole it from me!"
"How did you even get that medal?" asked Sora, now lying down.
"I stole it," simply answered Ralph.
"Ah, very deserving," Sora snickered, sarcastically.
"Well, how did you get your keyblade?" frowned Ralph.
"It came to me."
Ralph stared at him in disbelief. "It came to you?"
"Yeah."
"Like it literally randomly came to you?"
"Yup."
"You were wondering off one day, minding your own business and it just….appeared?"
"Uh-huh."
Ralph stared at him. "You are a horrible liar, kid." Sora got up from the seat.
"I can prove that I'm not a liar!" he argued.
"Alright, then. Call it over right now!" Ralph smirked with his arms folded.
"That's not how it works!" Sora was growing frustrated.
"Ok, then you are a liar."
"Look!" said Sora, seriously. "We need to get out of here. When I get my keyblade back from King Candy, you will see later." Ralph sighed. He had the power to get out. Why haven't they escaped yet?
"Good plan," agreed Ralph. "But, we need to break out that sour tooth as well."
"Why her? She got us in here," frowned Sora, breaking off a licorice to use as a weapon.
"So, she can get my medal back."
"Oh, you mean the medal that you so deserve," teased Sora.
"I…ahhhhh!" Ralph broke off the jail doors.
"Take it easy, incredible Hulk!" snickered Sora, patting him on the back. "Now, what direction do you want to go to?"
"I'll go right, you'll go left," said Ralph, already charging.
To Sora's surprise, there were no security guards in the hallways.
"Pfft, no wonder why Ralph and I are the only ones here," he smirked. Sora stopped when he saw a huge brown door to his left.
"This must be the 'special room,'" he thought. The door had a tiny keyhole, so he couldn't see that much. One thing was clear however and it was Vanellope, who was unconscious on a bench.
"Vanellope!" he silently gasped. Sora immediately dashed off to tell Ralph where she is. But, if he had stayed a little longer, he would have gotten some vital information.
"What do you mean she's not a Princess of Heart?!" yelled King Candy. "Her heart is pure and innocent! She's a kid! Every kid's heart is like that!"
"Oh really?" purred Maleficent. "Spying on the children who constantly torture the girl proves me otherwise." King Candy glitched to show his true form…Turbo!
"Vanellope is a princess!" cried Turbo. "Therefore, she is a Princess of Heart!"
"You fool!" scolded Maleficent "You think because she's a princess, it immediately makes her a Princess of Heart?"
"Yet this 'Kairi' chick you speak off who is right over there," argued Turbo, pointing to Kairi, who was out of it as if she was under a spell, "is not a princess or any type of royalty whatsoever, but yet she is a 'Princess of Heart!'" Maleficent snickered when he mocked her with the 'Princess of Heart' part. "And that other Alice kid is not royalty, but yet…" BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
"Ow!" screamed Turbo as Maleficent was shocking him. Her shock made him glitch back to his King Candy persona.
"Oh dear, you talk too much!" gracefully smiled Maleficent.
"I hate it when you do that," snapped King Candy, rubbing his head.
"Kairi and Alice are Princesses of Heart," explained Maleficent, "because they are one of the few women in all of the worlds who have pure hearts. No darkness in them. And Vanellope's heart…." Maleficent picked up Vanellope's removed heart on a nearby table, "…does have some darkness in here." King Candy looked carefully at the heart, which does have a tiny bit of darkness in it.
"If the child didn't had mischievousness in her code," continued Maleficent, "she would maybe have been one of them."
"So, you're telling me," King Candy was now angry, "I have been here for a year for nothing?!"
"Didn't I give you everything you wanted?" reminded Maleficent.
"Well, yes," admitted King Candy. "You did help me overthrew Vanellope and gave me my disguise."
"And?"
"You wiped everyone's memories. Well honestly, it could be better because if Vanellope crosses the finish line…"
"May I remind you that her heart is out? If you feed her heart to the Heartless, she'll be gone forever."
King Candy chuckled darkly and looked at her heart.
"I stand-corrected."
"And she isn't the only heart you can feed to them. The wayward hearts of the rest of those bratty children are perfect to feed to them."
"So, this isn't a waste of time," thought King Candy out loud.
"And once the Heartless destroy this disgusting happy land," smiled Maleficent. "You will lead them to other worlds. And Sugar Rush won't be only yours."
"This whole arcade will be mine!" laughed King Candy.
"So, next time," Maleficent grabbed the little man. "Be grateful for what I give you!"
"Yes, ma'am," squeaked King Candy. Maleficent dropped him and walked to Kairi.
"Remember, you have a job to do!" reminded Maleficent. "Focus and don't disappoint me!" In a green glow, Maleficent and Kairi disappeared.
"Don't disappoint me," mocked King Candy, walking to the Keyblade that was in the corner of the cell. "Oh, I'll show you who's actually boss, lady." He grabbed the Keyblade and summoned Heartless. The Heartless were Shadows and new ones in forms of candy and Cybugs. He waved the heart as if he was going to give a bone to a starving dog.
"Here you go, boys," said Kandy Candy, "there'll be plenty more where-" King Candy was interrupted when the tiny door was destroyed by Ralph.
"Hold it right there, Candy Man!" taunted Sora, waving licorice. King Candy was distracted by Ralph's muscles and completely opposite height until he saw the licorice.
"Please, kid!" laughed King Candy. "You really need to think of better weapons." King Candy waved around the Keyblade. "Like my-" POOF! The Keyblade, restored to its glory, returned to Sora.
"What the?!" gasped King Candy and Ralph.
"I'm sorry, what weapon?" taunted Sora. King Candy did nothing, but look at him nervously.
"It came to you!" cried Ralph. "Well, I feel stupid."
"You can apologize to me later." Sora was focusing on Vanellope's heart that King Candy was holding.
"I believe you have something else that doesn't belong to you," threatened Sora. King Candy looked at the heart and evilly smiled at them.
"You want the kid's heart?" he chuckled. King Candy walked to a painting of a sad clown on the wall, opened it, and threw it out of a secret window!
"Then, go get it!" laughed King Candy. Sora and Ralph gasped and ran to the window.
"Man, he has a good arm!" said Ralph as he watched it fly to the forest.
"Come on, let's go!" Sora jumped out of the window.
