Chapeter 9
Back to the school bench.
On board the Invisible Hand, Dooku's personal flag ship.
Galen barley ducked under the green lightsaber belonging to General Grievous. "You are weak Starkiller." Pointed the General out, as he swung another quick slash against him. "You are weaker than usual; I can see why Dooku sent you here to train." Galen was getting tired of the General and moved in to end it with some quick slashes, but Grievous blocked every single one of his attacks without much effort, only using two of his lightsabers to block Galen's own two. "Your attacks have no precision, no aim, and no technique." Grievous launched forward and stroke both Galen's lightsabers out of his grip. The General laughed and turned around to walk away. "We will continue the training tomorrow, I have more important things to do then training you."
Galen didn't respond, he couldn't really do anything he was under Grievous command right now and didn't felt that arguing would help any way. It pained Galen to admit it, but the General was right, Galen had become weaker and his mind wasn't as focused as it used to be. It was embarrassing to go from Dooku's best assassin/apprentice to be toyed by Grievous. Grievous is strong, really strong, but so was Galen and Grievous lacked the force on his side. He shouldn't have such a hard time fighting him, but he had.
Galen stayed at the exact same position for several minutes, just feeling the shame. It didn't help that his attempt to get a better knowledge of the light side of the force hadn't really worked out. He just couldn't, he didn't feel any connection to the light side, only the dark side. Which he felt like he had started to drift away from too.
"Master?" Galen jumped back at the sudden sound. He looked behind to see his friend Proxy standing there, with what almost looked like a hint of pity on his face. "Are you feeling alright master?" asked the droid as he walked up to Galen. "From my calculations of your facial expressions, so I'm guessing that you're having a hard time. Is something bothering you?"
"No I'm fine, just really tired that's all." Said Galen, with a fake smile. Proxy only nodded and then walked out from the training room. Galen walked up to one of the large windows in the room and looked out at the never ending darkness.
"I really hope I'm doing the right thing now." Whispered Galen for himself.
On the planet Ryloth
"Jedi master Windu, we have reports from the scouts that the Separatists have sent a small patrol down to the planet." Reported a clone captain to the Jedi master, as he walked in to the temporary command-center. Inside one of the main villages on Ryloth.
"As I feared, the Separatists haven't given up yet. There lost here have wounded them greatly, let's just hope they stay away from the villages this time." Responded the second in command to the Jedi grand master. Mace Windu had been sent to Ryloth, when they had started to suspect that Separatists was sending droids to take back the planet.
"Master what's your orders?" asked the clone captain.
"Stay put, for now I have to speak to the Jedi council about this." said Mace and walked towards one of the many holo-projectors in the room.
The holo-projector flickered to life and an image of grand master Yoda appeared. Mace gave a quick nod before speaking. "Grand master, the scouts have reported sights of separatist activity. It looks like Dooku is sending troops here to try and take back control of the planet."
"Hmm, troubling this news are. What suggests you?" asked Yoda back with a concern look.
"I suggest that we send at least one more star destroyer and additional ground troops should do it." Answered Mace immediately.
"Fix that we shall. Disturbance in the force you feel?" asked Yoda a bit curios.
"No master, I don't think he will be here, but I can't say for Grievous. I'll report if anything comes up master." Said Mace as he ended the transmitting.
"Captain, keep me informed if the scouts discovers anything." Said Mace as he walked out of the room.
Mace didn't pay much attention to the clone that responded with a "Yes sir", his thoughts were on other problems like the young Sith boy. He was a great threat, very skilled with a lightsaber and extremely strong with the force.
He hadn't met the boy sense he was lost in the battle 4 years ago, he could still not entirely comprehend the boys connection to the force. The force was so strong; it even made Anakin's connection to the force feel normal in comparison. Anakin maybe the chosen one, but it still wasn't as strong as Galen's connection to the force. Mace had known Galen father when he was still young. A good man and a great Jedi, but he had one flaw and that was his emotions for Mallie a fellow Jedi knight. They feel in love, but there love was short lived, as Mallie died giving birth to Galen Marek. They were lucky Kento wasn't kicked out by the Jedi order, but he and Galen was separated and had only meet a few times.
Some speculated that Mallie had given Galen her power and that was why he was so strong in the force, other thought that it was simply the fact that both his parent was force sensitive and had there by gotten power from both parents. Mace didn't know or care that much, he was more concerned about stopping him before he got out of control.
"General Windu, the Republic reinforcement has arrived." Affirmed the clone captain.
Mace turned to the clone and gave an affirming nod and went in to the command-center, to make up a strategy.
A board the Invisible Hand
Grievous was kneeling in front of the image of Count Dooku.
"Yes my lord, I will deal with it right away. But what about Starkiller?" responded Grievous.
Dooku took some time to respond, but then answered. "Take him with you; he needs to get back in the battle. Continue your training until you arrive."
"Of course, my lord." Said Grievous, as the transmission ended.
Grievous turned to one of the droids. "Inform Starkiller to be in the training room in 15 minutes." Said he and then left. The general didn't pay any attention as the droid gave a "Roger Roger". He just continued down the hall while coughing some.
15 minutes later and Grievous stood face to face with Starkiller.
"Cough cough…Now Starkiller lets start off with some hand to hand combat." Said Grievous and loosed his sabers and a droid took them to the side. Starkiller did the same and walked back to the middle of the training room, fists up and ready for the cyborg General.
Grievous was the first to move in with a powerful swing with his right arm. Starkiller dodged the swing with little effort. Grievous cyborg body gave him extreme strength, but it also slowed him down, when not separating his arms to his smaller and faster alternative. For now he used only two arms. (Grievous from the series, not the movie were his extra arms were attached to his side/chest)
Starkiller ducked under another swing from Grievous and quickly took the chance to move in for a counter attack. Three quick swings and all hit perfectly, but nothing happened. Grievous didn't move an inch. It staggered Starkiller long enough, for Grievous to get a powerful smash right in Starkiller's side. Starkiller was slung back a few good meters, he was quickly back up, but held his hand to his side where he had been hit. He was clearly out mannered here; he needed to come up with a plan.
*I need a plan to get the upper hand; I'm clearly outmatched in body strength. But Grievous doesn't have any force powers, that's my ticket.* thought Starkiller, while dodging another attack.
Starkiller focused his power in to his fist and quickly moved in. he ducked under an attack and then took the chance and hit Grievous with a force fueled fist. The hit released a small force explosion from Starkiller's hand and on to Grievous metal stomach. Grievous was sent sliding back from the impact and a small dent was left. Grievous looked down at the small scratch and chuckled.
"Yes, now things are getting interesting." Said Grievous a bit mocking.
"I have plenty of more surprises left for you." answered Starkiller.
Starkiller pushed on the offense, fueling his attacks with the force. For a second it seemed like he could turn things around and win this fight, but it never happened. Starkiller couldn't catch up with the General. It frustrated Starkiller and his anger started to rise by every second. He was starting to lose himself in his anger.
Starkiller's attacks became more and more aggressive and less accurate; Grievous saw this chance and took it. He opened up so that his four arms were all out. By separating his arms in to four made him faster with his counter attacks, but it also splinted his strength in half. But that was no problem as Starkiller quickly started to lose ground and was back at defense.
Starkiller had to unleash more rage and more anger, he focused one getting his anger up, but then as he thought of his anger for the republic and the Jedi, that was when he came to think of her. Ahsoka, his anger vanished and left was only disgrace for what he had done to her. Starkiller was brought back from his thoughts when Grievous hit him with his claw like toot. Sending Starkiller straight for the wall, he had no time to slow down the impact as smashed right in to the wall.
Grievous returned his arms back and walked up to Starkiller. "You are making progress, but you lost your focus in the end and that cost you the victory. In a real fight you would have been slaughtered." Informed Grievous and started to leave, but stooped by the exit. "I have a new mission from Dooku, I'm going to Ryloth to take back the planet from the republic and you will come with me. We will continue your training another day." With that he left.
Starkiller rose back to his feet and slowly started to walk back to his cabin. He had too much on his head right now and needed to get some rest.
In Starkiller's cabin.
"Master it is good to see you, did your training go well?" asked Proxy.
"I don't want to talk about it. I need to get some rest, so if you could just be quiet." Said Starkiller and walked straight for his bed. He only turned slightly to hear Proxy's say. "Of course master."
Starkiller was quickly deep asleep. Proxy sat down at a nearby chair, to await his master's recovery.
At the republic base on Ryloth
"Captain what is our status regarding the separatist activity?" asked Jedi Mace Windu.
The clone captain turned from a console displaying a map of the region. "The scouts haven't had any future contact and are still searching. Should I stoop the search?"
"No, we need to know what they are after. Captain has all the villages been secured?" restored Mace and looked over the map.
"General all villages has been secured with five squadrons of our best troops." Responded the clone captain and pushed some buttons to show the squadrons positions on the map.
"Good. Also we could need some more supply shipping soon and…" Mace was interrupted when an alarm screamed in the entire base. "What's happening captain?"
The clone captain quickly turned to a monitor and a holographic image of the commander off the star destroyers guarding the planet came in to view. "Master Windu, we are attacked by a separatist ship, it looks like the Malevolence. It doesn't seem to have the EMP-cannon, but we can't hold on for long against it. We have sent for reinforcement and…" only static remained. Everyone in the room turned to the Jedi master for orders.
Mace groaned. "Well it looks like we have to change our plans; we are outnumbered and out gunned. This isn't going to be easy, captain order all troops back to their defensive line, protecting the villages is our primary target." Mace walked out of the command center with the captain not far behind.
"Master Windu, is it Grievous?" asked the clone.
"Yes I think so, but I'm more concerned about who is with him. I have to go after them, captain?" said Mace and turned to the clone in question.
"Yes sir."
"I need a squadron of your best troops including you; we will hunt down Grievous and Starkiller." Mace could see the captain tens up from hearing that they were after Starkiller. It was understandable after all the clones he had killed and from all the rumors about him.
"Will be sir, I know we have some ARC troops here one the planet, you can't find better troops." Answered the Captain, with a small grin.
Mace nodded and made his way for the long way communicators, he needed to inform the counsel about his status and that he was going after Starkiller.
A few hours later
Mace Windu walks out to see the assembled ARC clones.
"General Mace Windu, captain Fordo and the Muunilinst 10 reports for duty." Said Fordo and stepped forward. (Yes it is Fordo from the old SW:TCW)
Mace looks over the group of off clones. Fordo had an older version of the clone armor, with the old helmet model. A lot of scraps and dents point to many fought battles. His ARC stripes were bright red and on his belt hang two laser pistols. Behind him stood two ARC lieutenants with the standard blue stripes. One of them had a rocket launcher and the other had a Cip-Quad. (it's a slow but power full eight barrel laser, that shoots from four of the barrels at a time. It is connected to a backpack, with a power core. It's an experimental weapon. Googel Cip-Quad to see how it really looks.) finally behind them were seven normal clone troopers.
Mace and Fordo shacked hands. "It has been a long time Fordo. You think your squad will do?" asked Mace.
"If we can't then you better give up, because you won't find any better." Answered Fordo confidently.
"I guess you know who our target is?" asked Mace.
"Of course, we are after Starkiller a former Jedi padawan that turned evil he was last seen on Mandalore." Answered Fordo immediately.
"Yes, but do you also know that he defeated four ARC troopers single-handed?" asked Mace concerned about their chances.
"Yes, I know that, but I also know that the ARC troops he fought had been stationed as guards at Kamino with only around 1000 hours of war experience combined, I have over 3000 hours. I and the lieutenants were trained by Jango Fett himself and we in order trained the rest of the Muunilinst 10. We have a success rate at 92%." Pointed Fordo out with a hint of anger at the lack of confidence of his squad.
Mace chuckled. "That's what I was hoping for. " He smiled and led the squad back to the command-center to prepare a attack plan.
At the other side of Ryloth
Laser bolts were filling the air as the Separatists army marched for one of the nearby towns.
Starkiller was at the front line, pushing through the Republic defense lines. "Delta squad focuses fire on the bunkers, Bravo suppression fire at the buildings and Charlie take down the walkers." Shouted general Grievous over the com links. Starkiller wasn't paying attention, his focus was one the mission, take back the capital city and drive the Republic off Ryloth.
"Starkiller!" Starkiller was taken back from his thoughts by Grievous angry voice screaming in the com link. "Starkiller I commanded you to stay back for now. You will get your piece of action in time. Return back here. Now!" Starkiller sighed and jumped back from the battle and were quickly outside the Separatist headquarter.
Starkiller entered the room to see Grievous shouting out more commands. Starkiller didn't pay much attention to him and simply lined against a wall, awaiting his next orders. His mind drifted off to elsewhere. He debated about his place in this war, what plans he had and what the outcomes might be.
Starkiller was close to fall as a group of droids rushed past him and up to Grievous. Starkiller was immediately aware that these droids were scouts. Judging by their rush to talk to Grievous mean that it could only be something of great importance.
"General Grievous our attack against the southern village has been eliminated completely." Informed the leading droid.
"What? I sent three tanks and one hundred droids, how could they have been defeated? By who?" asked a furious Grievous. Grievous lifted one arm ready to crush the poor droid. Most of the surrounding droids looked on in horror.
The scared droid scout quickly cried out. "S-sir they were ambushed by a Jedi and a squadron of clone troopers, we had no chance." Finished the trembling scout.
Grievous was furious; the scout shuddered back, but he was too late as Grievous flung one of his fist right through the chest of the poor scout. Grievous looked around at the other droids, who immediately went back to their work he then turned to Starkiller, with what could only be a hint of a smirk from his yellow eyes.
"Starkiller, you were very eager to get back to the battlefield. So why don't you take a squadron and fixes this minor distraction?" said Grievous. It was easy for Starkiller to see the point in this; It was just another way for Grievous to push Starkiller around. He didn't like it, but unfortunately it was a request by his commander and he had to obey.
"Of course general." Said Starkiller with a quick nod.
"Inform me about were the Jedi is and I shall personally take care of him." Said Grievous, as Starkiller nodded and started to leave.
END OF CHAPTER
Thanks for reading and pleas review
AN: Alright i was planing to make it longer but I wanted to have it up this week. also i want to inform everyone that I'm going to rewrite most of my old chapters to improve them and fix errors like misspelling and mostly I will change some outcome and small details. the plot will be the same and you wont need to reread them if you don't feel like. the biggest differences will be Starkiller's and Ahsoka's behavior, right now i feel like I failed at Starkiller's attitude, he starts of like a unemotional Sith, but it feels like I started to make him good again way to fast and it kind of gets a bit to sappy sometimes. I will put up a new chapter as a note when all chapters has been remade and i will write if there is any big changes in any chapters.
As always just ask if you have any questions and PM me if you have any awesome ideas for the story.
gps3 out.
