The next month of Izuku's life was dedicated to schoolwork and meeting Aizawa's fellow Yuuei staff members. Nezu had been delighted to discover that Izuku had been using the library to keep up with schooling for the most part, and so all he really did was assign Izuku coursework and give him the books needed, with the promise that he could ask any of the staff for help at any time.

After the first week, Izuku lapsed into a schedule. He would get his work from Nezu, then he'd go to the teacher's lounge to do it all. That way he could work and get to know the teachers and pro heroes that worked at Yuuei.

In the teacher's lounge was where Nemuri found him one day, muttering over some math work.

"Isn't that college material?" Nemuri asked, leaning to look over his shoulder. Izuku stopped in the middle of a calculation and gave the book he was using a dirty look before continuing. "Okayyy... Anyway, you seen Shouta, squirt?"

"I think he's in his homeroom or something with Mic." He muttered. Then he paused and looked up at her, blinking. "Wait, why? What's happening?"

"Our friend Tensei is visiting today!" Nemuri announced as she straightened up with a bright grin. Noticing Izuku's thinking face, she elaborated. "Iida Tensei, he's the pro hero Ingenium."

"I've met more pro heroes this month than I ever wanted to." Izuku sighed to himself. Nemuri laughed, as all the teachers knew about him being Starry Smile, and slapped him good naturedly on the back. Izuku winced but didn't complain. He went back to his work. "Well, say hi for me or something."

With his back to her, Izuku didn't see the glint enter Nemuri's eye. He did, however, feel when she grabbed his arm and pulled him out of his chair.

"Wha—hey!"

"Tensei's brought his little brother!" Nemuri said, dragging him out of the room. "He's your age, maybe you should make friends!"

"I have work to do!" Izuku protested. He made a face. "Can't believe I just said that—do you really think it's a good idea to introduce a vigilante to a hero's brother?"

"Don't think about it so much, squirt!" Nemuri brushed off his concerns, continuing to drag him towards Aizawa's classroom. Izuku went limp in her grasp, not actively fighting her, but not making it any easier on her either.

When she pulled him into Aizawa's room, Izuku zeroed onto him, ignoring Mic and who he assumed were Tensei and his brother.

"Help. Me." He hissed, trying to tug his arm from Nemuri's grasp.

Before Aizawa could agree or deny him though, Nemuri let go, rushing over to tackle the older Iida brother in a hug. Izuku, surprised, fell to the floor with a soft oof. He stayed laying there even as the younger Iida, Mic and Aizawa stared at him.

"I live here now." He told the ceiling miserably. Mic snorted and seemingly decided he would be fine, as he turned back to his conversation with Ingenium. Aizawa rolled his eyes and walked over to look down at him.

"Get up, problem child." He said. Izuku eyed him for a moment before returning his gaze to the ceiling. "Izuku."

"I said I live here now, Eraser. Piss off."

"That is no way to speak to a pro hero! You should mind your language in a school setting!" The younger Iida brother boomed, also stepping into Izuku's field of vision. Izuku stared at him unblinkingly, long enough for him to begin looking a little uncomfortable. Ingenium stepped up to put a hand on Iida's shoulder, quirking an amused eyebrow at Izuku.

"Don't mind him, he's just a stickler for respect and rules." He told Izuku, ignoring Iida's protests in favor of turning to Aizawa. "So who's the kid, huh, Shouta?"

"This is Izuku, he's staying with me for an undetermined amount of time." Aizawa sighed, holding a hand towards Izuku and pulling him up when he took it. "Izuku this is Iida Tensei and Tenya."

"Nice to meet you, Izuku." Ingenium said with a genuine smile.

"You too. Uhm, and nice to meet you, Iida-san." Izuku nodded to Iida, who nodded back, still looking a bit miffed.

Nemuri appeared at Aizawa's side, draping an arm over her friend's shoulder.

"I'm hungry!" She announced. "Izuku, Tenya, you two should get us all food!"

"I don't remember agreeing to being a servant." Izuku shot back. Aizawa gave him an appraising look, to which he responded to taking a step back and narrowing his eyes. "I know that look. Don't try shit, Eraser."

"Tenya, you can take Izuku down to the cafeteria with you, can't you?" Aizawa asked the taller boy, ignoring the vigilante. "It would be really helpful."

"Of course!" Iida agreed loudly, already marching to the door. Nemuri detached from Aizawa to shove Izuku out the door to join him, slamming it as soon as he was out.

Izuku wanted to turn around and remind them that he hadn't interacted with someone his own age in three to four years and this wasn't a good idea.Instead he gave Iida an awkward smile and tugged his sleeves down over his hands.

"So... Food?" He asked. Iida nodded firmly.

"Indeed. Follow me, Lunch Rush will be able to help us." He strode off and Izuku followed, having to go a bit faster because of Iida's longer legs. They traveled in awkward silence, neither willing to speak first. Or maybe Iida just didn't have anything to say to someone like Izuku? He hadn't been the most popular of kids before, and spending multiple years living alone on a trash beach probably didn't help any. Iida probably thought he was weird, which, who could blame him? Izuku wouldn't want to talk to himself either. "Erm, Izuku-san. You're mumbling?"

"Eh?" Izuku blinked out of his thoughts to find himself partially hunched over, a hand to his mouth. Flushing red, he straightened up. "Sorry. I haven't done that in a while."

"It is quite alright, Izuku-san!" Iida assured. "And do not worry, I don't think you're weird. Well, not weirder than my brother and his friends."

"Thaaanks..." He replied, rubbing the back of his neck. That had definitely been one of the reasons he'd forced himself out of the muttering habit; anyone who listened well enough could hear his entire thought process. Plus, it was kinda dumb to mutter in the middle of a stake out and let everyone know where you were. "Um, so... what's your quirk?"

"It is very similar to my brother's, actually!" With that, Iida delved into an explanation of his quirk. It was a topic he able to talk about all the way down to the cafeteria, thankfully with minimal input from Izuku.

Lunch Rush greeted them with an energetic wave when Iida pushed open the kitchen door. He was darting around the kitchen, putting together meals. Izuku barely came to the kitchen himself, not used to having food at his fingertips at any moment. It felt a little bit like cheating to him, for some reason.

"It looks like you already guessed the point of our visit." Iida said, glancing at the meals Lunch Rush was making. He noticed the blank, confused look on Izuku's face. "These are the meals my brother and his friends always order when he visits."

"Ah. Okay."

Lunch Rush left his preparation for a moment to point at Iida.

"I will just have whatever Tensei is, thank you." Was Iida's answer to the unspoken question. Lunch Rush pointed then to Izuku, who held up his hands and shook his head.

"I'm good, I'm not hungry." He promised. Lunch Rush stayed focused on him for a moment longer before accepting the answer and returning to his work.

"You shouldn't skip meals, Izuku-san." Iida said in a softly scolding tone. Izuku shrugged, watching Lunch Rush instead of meeting Iida's eyes. Iida huffed but took the hint and dropped the subject. After a bit, Lunch Rush finished and loaded them up with the meals, waving them off.

"I completely forgot to ask, Izuku-san," Iida said at the bottom of the stairs, "But what is your quirk? It was rude of me to talk about only my own."

"I'm.. quirkless." Izuku finally answered on the 8th step. Iida stopped to stare at him but he kept going. "We should get these back before they're cold."

"...Right you are."

The rest of the trip was engulfed in awkward silence again, and when they got to Aizawa's room, Izuku dropped the meals on a desk and then made a beeline for the door.

"Gotta finish my work!" He called over his shoulder. "Nice meeting you, Iida-san!"

"How was your day?" Nezu asked him later in the day, when Izuku brought his completed assignments to his office.

Izuku dropped the textbooks on his desk, creating a loud noise.

"Socialization sucks ass." He announced. Nezu chuckled.
