Arc 3: From the depths of Hell

Chapter 10: Running all day

"Speech"

"Thoughts"

"Supernatural/Grimm speech"

"Supernatural/Grimm thoughts"

Beacon Academy. The greatest combat school in all of remnant. The only school to accept students from all walks of life and from any kingdom. It stood tall and proud as it trained the newest generations of Hunters and Huntresses.

"As I walked through the marshes, after my prey-"

Professor Port was as usual lecturing on life rather than text. Ruby paid no attention, along with the rest of the class, as they did their own thing. Jaune was fast asleep, Yang and Nora were throwing small objects at his head which did nothing to wake him. Ren paid attention, keeping notes. Blake was secretly reading her ninja's of love book. Pyhrra was trying, and failing, to pay attention to Prof. Port.

This was pretty standard for Beacon Academy. However not all of Beacon's teachers were boring. After a few hours one would find our heroes in Doctor Oobleck's class. The man was a walking hurricane as he blew through the class, talking at a speed that exceeded even Ruby. He was a Doctor in history

"Can any of you tell me why the poor General lost when he attacked the Faunus at night?"

Cardin Winchester1 smirked as he rose his hand to answer. Ooblek nodded in his direction and Cardin smiled even wider.

"Animals are easy to train".

Jaune rolled his eyes.

"No you dumbass it was night vison! Monty learn something you racist bastard" he growled.

Cardin glared at Jaune as he rose from his seat.

"You wanna go!" roared Cardin.

Jaune smirked as he got up as well and flipped Cardin off. Pyrrha was glaring at her teammate and trying to get him to sit back down.

"Always ready to put your ass in the hospital for another week!"

"ENOUGH!" roared Oobleck. Everyone stared at the Doctor as he glared at Cardin.

"Sit down! Both of you will be seeing me after class!"

Oobleck's face relaxed as he looked across the room.

"How many of those with Faunus heritage have suffered discrimination?"

Oobleck looked angry as several hands hesitantly went up.

"Despicable. It's this inability to learn from past mistakes that breed hatred and empower the Grimm".

When class ended Jaune was standing beside Cardin who was glaring at him.

"Now" said Oobleck "I understand the two of you are not exactly friends however I will not TOLERATE such interruption in my class. An essay over 2,000 words on Faunus and Human conflicts will be a suitable punishment for the both of you. Cardin you may leave".

Cardin smirked at Jaune as he left. Oobleck looked at Jaune with a smile.

"Although I don't agree with how you handled Cardin I must admit you impressed me Jaune. Not many would stand up against Faunus racism so blatantly".

Jaune resisted the urge to reveal how much the praise touched him in a way.

"I'm not exactly human, remember".

Ooobleck smirked.

"Neither was half of my class. You stood up Jaune and that's how many of society's changes come about. Someone stood up. I think I'll let you off with just a thousand word essay unlike Cardin. But don't spread it around!"

Jaune smirked as he nodded and left.

"Thanks Professor".

Oobleck let a scowl mar his face.

"I AM NOT A PROFESSOR I AM A DOCTOR. For the love of Oum get it right!" begged Oobleck.

Jaune laughed as he exited the room. Outside of the door team JNPR and RWBY were waiting for him.

"Ready for lunch?" asked Ruby.

Jaune smiled as he nodded. As the two teams made their way to the cafeteria Jaune couldn't help but realize just how different life was for him now. In the beginning of his journey Jaune was alone, in solitude, and had a hole deep in his heart where friends should be.

Now it wasn't healed but…different. It was smaller, filled with the warmth and recognition that came with one realizing they were not alone. For Jaune it was nice. He could honestly say that team RWBY were friends of his. Now don't get him wrong he wasn't close to them in anyway but they were still people he'd help out if he could. When the group entered the cafeteria they got their seats. Team RWBY went first for their food.

Jaune sighed as he the four finally left.

"So how are things Jaune?'

Jauen turned to Ren and smiled.

"So far so good. My Uncle is apparently still on leave. They were changing his class so he wasn't needed for work the last couple of days".

It had been about a week since the party with John and things were definitely different. Jaune noticed that Bianca had left him alone for a while, which was fine by him, Ruby was apparently still analyzing the rune on her temporary scythe, and Jaune himself for once was able to relax for an entire week.

When his teammates heard this they couldn't help but laugh. Was it sad that it was true? A terrorist attack one week, a friggin ghost and monster the last week. This was the first week the group was able to just live life at school and not have to worry.

Team RWBY arrived with their usual air of charisma. The group was certainly worthy of the title first year strongest. But that was one title Jaune was determined to take. Especially since Yang stole his clothes one time while he was in the Beacon shower. Monty that was an embarrassing day having to call out for his team to help.

Revenge will be sweet. Quickly Jaune went to the food and took a couple of slices of pizza. He let his team talk for a bit. With four trays filled with food Jaune was about to lift them and go back to his team when a timid and shaking hand poked his back.

Jaune turned around was greeted to the sight of a shaking and terrified Velvet. Jaune rose an eyebrow as he looked at her with slight confusion. Velvet began to stutter as she spoke to him.

"I-I-I just wanted to say…thank you" she mumbled "for Cardin today –a-a-and for before –t-to".

Jaune nodded. He was still apprehensive about Velvet at the moment, especially since she was looking at him like he was going to eat her.

Monty Oum was there something on his face?
"It was not problem" muttered Jaune, who was unused to random people thanking him.

Velvet nodded and quickly ran back to wherever she was seated.

"…Weird chick" muttered Jaune.

When he returned Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora all held a surprised look on their face when he returned with four trays worth of food.

"Rice with chicken and fries for Ren".

Ren nodded in appreciation.

"Pancakes for Nora and three bottles of that red syrup we get from that mission in Forever falls".

Nora beamed brightly as she immediately dug into her food.

"Minstral style steak and fries for Pyrrha".

Pyrrha blushed as she looked at the food. She was very self-conscious when it came to her calorie intake, which was odd with the whole combat school. But sadly habits die hard and a diet was driven into her skull when she began her journey as a warrior.

"I don't think I should have that Jaune. I already ate a little while ago".

Jaune just looked through Pyrrha's bullshit.

"I don't smell a damn thing on you" whispered Jaune quietly enough for only Pyrrha to hear.

Pyrrha scowled as she realized her mistake. Damn him and his nose.

"Besides you got to eat, keep your energy up".

Without another word Jaune let the tray be placed in front of Pyrrha. His own tray was filled with strips of meat and fries, a standard meal at Beacon academy.

"Aww beastie does care" said Yang.

Jaune just glared at the Cheshire grin on Yang's face. Damn that girl and her comments. Oh and her puns…lord the horrible puns.

"Yang leave them alone" mutter Blake.

Jaune looked at Blake and gave her a questioning look. The hell was her problem?
"You guys alright?" asked Ren.

Weiss, who was making a point to ignore Blake, just looked away. Ruby seemed slightly uncomfortable as she answered.

"We just had a…disagreement lately".

Jaune narrowed his eyes. He heard a couple of days back that Ruby and the others met up with some ginger. The only reason Jaune even knew that was due to the fact that Pyrrha told him about it. Apparently Weiss and Blake had an argument over Faunus rights or some crap. Apparently they were out walking around the city when they bumped into some monkey faunus which incited this entire argument.

Due to the monster team RWBY were forced back to Beacon Academy before the argument could get heated.

Honestly Jaune didn't give a shit but Pyrrha did so…he'll try.

"Is this about that Faunus crap?" asked Jaune "Because honestly there's no point in arguing about it. Faunus are eventually going to get equal rights".
Weiss narrowed her eyes at Jaune. Weiss attitude to Faunus were well known. However during the argument before Blake could reveal her Faunus heritage they were sent home by local law enforcement. Let's just say the argument was far from being over. Especially since Blake planned to meet Sun tonight.

"Those animals don't deserve such rights. All they do is bite and bite away at the structure of society. The White Fang is just an example of this".

Blake looked like she was ready to explode if not for Jaune's interruption.

"They said the same thing for those with dark skin a couple of centuries ago. Now? No one cares what skin colour you have, hell you can have blue hair and no one gives a shit anymore. Honestly this whole thing between human and Faunus is just a spat between children. Grow the fuck up I say".

Everyone stared at Jaune. Weiss looked shocked as well but quickly adopted her usual scowl. She wasn't going to bend that easily but she wasn't willing to start a fight either. She remained silent. Yang looked sheepish as she tried to think of a way to salvage this current situation. Ruby shrunk into her seat. She had tried to talk Weiss and Blake down but every time had resulted in arguments that grew worse in intensity. That monkey Faunus stealing stuff wasn't helping Blake's case either.

Blake looked at Jaune with a new eye. She was afraid of him, like any human would be of a large wild animal, however as she got to know him that fear, that instinctual fear, receded. She was still apprehensive towards him but it was if her instincts were just screaming he won't kill her. Before she kept getting the urge to run because she thought Jaune and his uncle were out to get her.

Weird how things work out.

The awkwardness for the group continued. Jaune sighed as he felt nervous. Later tonight was the test.

The dreaded test. The one that his Uncle volunteered him and Jaune for. The one that Pyrrha wanted to be present for "support".

Monty Oum he just wanted to die. However there was some good news. Apparently today they were getting an exchange student, a rarity in Beacon Academy. Before Jaune could voice that however the sound of a tray clanking on the table caught his ear.

Jaune turned his head to the left. He saw that someone new was sitting at their table. He was a relatively shot guy, standing at 5'6. His hair was pitch black with steel grey eyes. He wore the standard Beacon Academy uniform and his hair was styled where it covered left eye and went to his shoulder blades.

"Hello there Ruby. Mind if a sit here?"

Ruby smiled and beamed as she nodded energetically.

"I don't mind at all! Guys this is Ultor he was just transferred in from a private school. He was in my leadership and tactics class with Pyrrha".

The now named Ultor smiled politely and nodded.

"Hello there. I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"

Ruby smiled and before anybody could say anything invited him to sit, beside her.

And even worse beside Jaune. Jaune narrowed his eyes at Ultor. The man smelled, bad. There was just something off about him that just irked Jaune. With another sniff of his enhanced senses Jaune finally noticed what it was.

Decay.

"Oh great" thought Jaune.

Now contrary to popular belief Jaune was not an idiot. While the man carried a distinct scent of decay there were actually many humans with diseases and old age that carried that scent as well. The poor guy could easily be sick with something tragic. Well for Jaune that was bullshit since the guy looked perfectly healthy.

Jaune decided to cool off for a bit. No point in bringing this up before any solid proof. Besides he seemed nice enough. So with that Jaune got up and left. Pyrrha looked worried as Jaune left.

"Jaune where are you going?" asked Pyrrha.

Jaune just smiled his fake smile.

"Just going off to run for a bit. Besides Ultor needs a better seat then at the edge of Ruby's. He can sit in mine".

Ultor smiled and nodded his thanks to Jaune as he got up and sat down. Pyrrha looked at Jaune's tray and her eyes almost bulged at the fact it was empty.

Holy crap the boy could eat.

However before she could say a thing Ultor sat beside her and looked at her with a twinkle that really irked Pyrrha. It was lust. Then it was gone. Now normal would just think it was some trick of the light or that they were imagining things but Pyrrha knew better, she knew what she saw.

However for Ruby's sake she would at least try to be friends with this man. She really seemed to connect to him. Ultor turned his attention to Ruby and smiled as she yammered away. Pyrrha smiled as she watched him, he wasn't that bad.

"So how are you guys" asked Ultor.

Everyone gave brief answers, somewhat put off by a guy just introducing himself and injecting himself into this conversation. Ultor smiled.

"That's good that everyone is doing well. Say who was that weird guy that just left? I'm thankful for the seat".

He then grinned at Pyrrha.

"Really thankful, but still he was a bit of an oddball".

Pyrrha shivered from the look Ultor gave her. Yet no one else seemed to notice what he was doing. Ruby pouted as she became slightly jealous of Pyrrha getting a bit of Ultor's attention. Yang chuckled at her sister. She didn't think Ultor was out to date her but it was cute that Ruby's first crush was on the new student.

Oddly enough everyone began to slightly warm up to Ultor, especially Weiss who chuckled at his question.

"You have no idea the extent of Jaune's oddities. His entire family is filled with odd and weird people according to rumours. Anti-social in every way. I guess he just didn't like you" said Weiss honestly.

Pyrrha bit her tongue to prevent her from bitching at Weiss. The white haired girl was doing much better than a week ago that was for sure. However there was still some level of hostility that just won't be disappearing overnight.

But still, she was doing better for sure.

Ultor smirked as he heard the answer. Perfect, this Jaune was the intended target. Doesn't hurt to make sure. He had no actual grudge against the Arc's but he had to keep up appearances. Ultor smirked as he thought of the old senile fool back at the church. What an idiot. Kept yammering on about vengeance and victory against the Arc's yet the only thing they did wrong was save the old man's life when he attempted to hunt a dragon a hundred years ago.

As Ultor stated. An old honour addled fool. He wanted nothing to do with the senile fart but…he was just a great source of nourishment.

Ultor chuckled as he ate his food.

Everyone smiled as Ultor ate….all but Pyrrha. Ultor smirked at the red head. She was resisting, good, he always enjoyed a good hunt. Ultor became surprised when Pyrrha excused herself and left the cafeteria.

"What's her problem?" asked Ultor.

Yang smirked as she leaned in. Ultor blatantly looked down her shirt, at her cleavage, but no one seemed to notice, not even Yang. Ruby was still red from being ignored.

"She has a crush on beastie".

Ultor rose an eyebrow causing Yang to roll her eyes.

"Jaune, she has a crush on Jaune".

Ultor narrowed his eyes. This just got more difficult. His irritated expression disappeared as he stared at Yang smirking.

"Say…you don't mind telling me where Jaune lives do you?"

Everyone smiled as they nodded.

Ultor smirked darkly.

"Good".

-With Jaune and Pyrrha-

Jaune and Pyrrha were currently having their free period. It was the one time during school days that they could have time to themselves. A measly hour sure, but it was an hour that Jaune loved each day. He knew his feelings for Pyrrha were getting stronger. How couldn't they?

She was strong, beautiful, radiant, and with an amazing but irksome personality. Jaune always liked someone with a bit of fire. That and Pyrrha didn't hold anything back she told him the truth, no sugar coating.

But even so that didn't change anything for Jaune. Him and Pyrrha…he just wasn't worthy of her. He was an emotional ass with baggage. Granted his Uncle took that situation to a whole different level but still he digresses.

Jaune sighed as he ducked under a sword strike from Pyrrha. The two of them were on the roof for the hour and were practicing. Jaune grunted as he side-stepped another strike and slashed his sword into her side.

While Jaune lacked quite a bit of skill his reflexes and strength made up for it. He was, on technical terms, even with Pyrrha. However once aura and semblances came into play Jaune was screwed. See Jaune was still having a bit of trouble with regards to aura control. Hell enhancing his healing was just simply flooding his body with aura. According to his mother if he learned proper aura control then he would be able to accelerate his healing's regenerative abilities without as much drawback.

Too bad no one in his family taught him how to yet.

For those wondering, yes Jaune was talking to his mother and father again.

Does he still has issue with them? Yes, yes he does but he's working on it.

Jaune focused again on Pyrrha and was introduced to her fist landing on his face. Jaune hit the ground with a thud and a groan as he felt his nose heal.

"…ow" muttered Jaune.

"Pay attention next time" said Pyrrha.

Jaune just flipped her the bird causing Pyrrha to laugh. Pyrrha sat beside Jaune on the empty roof.

"So" said Pyrrha "What do you think of Ultor?"

"He's an ass"

Pyrrha rose an eyebrow at Jaune.

"How so?"

Jaune snarled as he rubbed his nose.

"Guy was just weird and looked at you girls all weird if you know what I mean?"

Pyrrha rolled her eyes. Seriously how immature could one be?

"Jaune I knew of his lustful gazes, please be mature about this".

Jaune chuckled as he sat up. It was fun riling her up.

"Fine fine" said Jaune.

Jaune looked at Pyrrha with a serious look.

"I can't honestly tell you why I distrust this guy he just…feels off is all".

Pyrrha nodded as she got up.

"I understand Jaune. Now let's start again before our hour is up" said Pyrrha as she turned around.

Jaune smirked as he slowly snuck behind Pyrrha. Before he could 'attack' her Pyrrha spun around and dropped him to the ground. She smirked as she held her hand out to Jaune.

"You still got a lot to learn" said Pyrrha.

Jaune grinned as he stood up. However before they could start again Pyrrha smiled shyly as she looked at Jaune.

"Say…team RWBY is going out again today after class. Would you like to come with me?"

Jaune was about to say no but then he thought about it. He looked at Pyrrha and smiled pleasantly.

"Why is Ruby and the others going out again? I mean they already had a huge fight about Faunus and such the last time, why go through it again?"

Pyrrha rose an eyebrow but answered regardless.

"Ruby wanted to try and bond with her team again, make them get over this argument their having".

Jaune tried not to laugh, honestly he did, but he just couldn't help himself.

"HAHAHAHAHA! Are you kidding me! Hell will freeze over" laughed Jaune. He then looked at Pyrrha with teary eyes.

"Oh I'm coming. One to see how this blows up in Ruby's face".

Pyrrha narrowed her eyes at Jaune. She really didn't like his callous views but she had to admit even she had her doubts to this little plan of Ruby's actually working.

"Then when the dust clears me and you can go get some dinner".

Pyrrha smiled.

"Oh with Ren and Nora?"

Jaune took a deep breath.

"No" said Jaune "..just….just us" he whispered.

Cue Pyrrha's explosive blush.

Jaune looked at the ground and collected his thoughts. He was selfish, he knew he was. He didn't deserve her but he couldn't help but be excited for the dinner tonight. There was no way it would ever develop beyond deep friendship but it was nice to be able to pretend for a while. For the entire time Jaune was busy contemplating his thoughts by staring at the ground Pyrrha was trying to wave her blush away from her face.

JAUNE ASKED HER OUT!

"OH MY MONTY OUM!" thought Pyrrha "be cool, be cool. Calm….calm"

Pyrrha controlled her blush just in time for Jaune to look at her.

"Jaune…I would love to have dinner with you tonight. Where are we going".

Jaune smiled as he decided to really screw with her.

"It's a secret".

Pyrrha smiled and rolled her eyes. This was so exciting! Finally a date where the guy wouldn't stare at her breasts or attempt to heighten their damn social standing…finally…a date with Jaune.

But the question wasn't if this was a date. Oh no the question that haunted Pyrrha was simple. Would this go anywhere? More accurately…would Pyrrha let it go anywhere? Suddenly Pyrrha remembered something.

"Jaune what happened to the tests tonight?"

Jaune smiled as he snickered.

"Apparently they aren't being done all at once. They just wanted a sample test today but I managed to get out of it but Uncle John doesn't know that".

Pyrrha looked at Jaune with confusion as he laughed. What was so funny? Jaune looked at Pyrrha and sensed her question.

"My Uncle John really hates needles".

Pyrrha snickered. Such a man like John…a bitch about needles?

-With John in the Hospital-

John was currently clinging to the corner of the ceiling as he jumped from each part of the room with the use of his claws.

"DAMN IT JOHN GET OVER HERE! YOU'RE NOT LEAVING UNTIL WE GET A SAMPLE!"

John looked at Alice with his natural burnt orange eyes. As of right now Ozpin decided to sic John with Alice. While Ozpin said there wouldn't be any samples being stored they still needed his blood to study for a month. After a month John could destroy the sample. However they never said they were going to put a needle in him!
"YOU WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR ME YOU CRAZY BIT-"

John's bitching was put to an end as a tranquilizer was shot into his ass. It had an immediate effect as John landed face first onto the ground snoring away. Alice looked behind her to see her sister loading another tranq into her rifle.

"…I thought that stuff didn't work on them?" said Alice.

Julia just smirked.

"Normally but I put a dose with twenty times the potency. Won't knock him out for long but it will give us the time to extract a sample".

Alice smirked as she finally got a blood sample from John.

"Who knew he was such a baby against needles. I mean his nephew was better than that" laughed Alice.

The two sisters laughed away as John was busy snoring on the floor.

-Back with Jaune and Pyrrha-

Pyrrha was sweating as he she blocked another blow from Jaune. Damn the man was strong. Pyrrha ignored the thoughts of his arms wrapping around her. She parried another blow and rammed her elbow into his sternum. Jaune was the most resilient opponent she had ever faced. What would stagger a normal person he simply blew through it. What would knock someone out barely made Jaune take a step back. He was, simply put, the best training partner Pyrrha could ask for. He kept getting stronger and stronger and that it turn made her get stronger as well. Still though.

Jaune yelled out as Pyrrha kicked his legs out from under him…again.

Jaune still had a lot to learn.

Pyrrha chuckled as Jaune picked himself up.

"You alright?" asked Pyrrha.

Jaune sighed as he looked at the time. The hour was almost up. Damn it this was just getting good.

"Yea. Just bummed we can't train more is all".

Pyrrha smiled as another bonus of training with Jaune became prevalent. His stamina was absolutely astounding. No other training partner Pyrrha had was capable of lasting as long as her. Jaune was though. Now that was not to say team RWBY, Ren, and Nora were slouches, far from it. However they were human, had limits to their still developing stamina. Pyrrha had been trained since she was five years old for this which is why she had an edge. And like Pyrrha thought before, team RWBY and her other teammates were human.

Jaune was not. As the duo put their weapons in their rocket locker Pyrrha blushed as she kept thinking of the dinner tonight. Monty Oum why was her heart beating so fast!
"Are you okay?" asked Jaune.

Pyrrha jumped. The shock replaced her blush but she still managed to get a shaky smile out to Jaune.

"Yes Jaune of course I am. What made you think I wasn't?"

Jaune shrugged.

"Well your face was red and your heart was beating pretty quickly".

Pyrrha stared at him. Jaune smiled sheepishly as he pointed at his ear.

"I can hear your heart beating".

Pyrrha rose an eyebrow as she stood there in shock. First he could smell far stronger than any animal, now he can hear her heart beating!? What the hell!
"….Why do you listen to my heart?" asked Pyrrha.

Jaune remained stoic as he simply didn't answer. He finished loading his weapons and let his rocket fly away. Pyrrha couldn't help but smile as she saw the tinge of red colouring Jaune's cheeks. Before Jaune could stop her Pyrrha began to rub his head in that way she does. Jaune purred in happiness and became putty in Pyrrha's hands.

Pyrrha smiled sweetly as Jaune pushed his head further into Pyhrra's hands. Suddenly a loud ringing broke the silence between Jaune and Pyrrha. The sound was enough to break the two from their personal moment. Pyrrha felt a little depressed at the fact that she couldn't enjoy this moment a little longer. She still had doubts about whether or not it would be a smart idea to go out with Jaune. There was just so many issues and problems that could arise.

But still…a date was something Pyrrha couldn't stop being excited for. As the two silently left the roof they both promised something to themselves. This date, however it ended, was never going to ruin the friendship they had.

Ever.

-3 hours later, in Vale-

Jaune, Pyrrha, and the rest of team RWBY were currently walking the streets of Vale. Ren and Nora were preoccupied with something else. Jaune scowled as he walked with the group. Damn Pyrrha and her beautiful green eyes. How the hell was he supposed to say no to hanging out with team RWBY with her when she looked at him like that!

Jaune sighed as he looked at Weiss and Blake. The two were definitely eyeing each other, trying to get an opening on one another and get a hit in. The amount of tension was so thick Jaune swore he saw a dark aura surrounding Weiss and Blake.

It just got worse when Blake admitted to going to see the thieving Monkey Faunus Sun. Apparently Blake made plans to see Sun today and Weiss was none too impressed with her teammate.

"Why are you going to see that scoundrel?" demanded Weiss "He's nothing but an animal".

Blake's eyes almost turned into slits in her rage.

"STOP CALLING HIM THAT!" yelled Blake "HE'S NOT AN ANIMAL".

"Oh" said Weiss "Then do you not want me to call that street a street? That lamppost a lamppost? He is what he is, an animal! And the White Fang are nothing but terrorists!"

"They are just misguided!" argued Blake.

Weiss narrowed her eyes.

"Oh and how the hell could you possibly know that hmm!? They are nothing but terrorist and that is that!"

"Because I was a part of them!" yelled Blake.

The entire world seemed to stop and Weiss looked at her friend with a shocked and hurt expression. Jaune narrowed his eyes at Blake as he watched the reactions of team RWBY. This was their judgement moment with him. How they react with Blake would be the measuring stick for the trust he'd put in them.

Blake looked at her teammates with worry as she slowly backed away. Weiss, who was in a state of shock, simply watched as her partner ran away from her. Jaune chuckled as he watched Blake run away. How sad was it that Jaune saw himself in Blake right now? He too would have simply run away, not bothering to trust his friends. It was difficult being what they were…but it was more so for Jaune. Still Jaune kept chuckling. He found it hilarious the drama that seemed to surround team RWBY.

Pyrrha rammed her elbow into Jaune's stomach to shut him up. While she indeed had a crush on the young wolf she was by no means blind to his rather unsympathetic views on some subjects. Sadly it was too late for Jaune to take back his laughter. Blake had gone off, running somewhere, and the remaining members of team RWBY were all glaring at the blonde.

"….what?" asked Jaune.

Yang rolled her eyes while Weiss simply snorted and Ruby glared. Pyrrha looked worryingly at Jaune. He didn't even try to be sympathetic to team RWBY's plight. He seemed to be content with just her and the rest of team JNPR for friends. While Pyrrha found that sweet she was by no means stupid. For all of Jaune's tough boy act he was lonely. So Pyrrha gave him a small look, her puppy dog pout. Jaune looked at Pyrrha and narrowed his eyes. He knew what she was asking.

"No, hell no, FUCK no" stated Jaune.

"What is he going on about" demanded Yang. The buxom boxer was by no means happy with the blonde douchbag. He was almost as bad as his ass of an uncle.

Jaune gave Pyrrha a daring look. Too bad the red head called his dare.

"Jaune can track down Blake".

Jaune groaned as he threw his hands up in the air and groaned in annoyance. While it was true that Jaune wanted to be a hero, it was more of a legendary figure known for his/her impossible deeds. Not helping every person he saw in whatever little problems or spats they were having! He wasn't going to waste his time on that! He had things to kill and badass moments to fulfill…yes it was a rather odd contradiction so sue him.

"Right" said Weiss "like this buffoon can do anything of the sort".

Jaune looked at Weiss to bitch at her, but suddenly stopped. She looked…hurt. She actually looked hurt that Blake had run off on them.

"…what in the hell is the world coming to!?" thought Jaune.

Jaune rolled his eyes and looked at Pyrrha. The red head gave him a stern glare causing Jaune to mentally whimper. She was serious about this. But was Pyrrha really worth the trouble for this?

Jaune as slowly as he could took a deep breath from his nose. He got the scent quickly and it set his instincts on fire.

There was a hunt to commence. Jaune knew it was dangerous and would raise some questions with team RWBY, hell it was plain stupid, but the call of the hunt was something he never resisted. Before Pyrrha or anyone else could say a thing Jaune bolted. He followed the scent through every nook and cranny it led him to. Through alleyways, over traffic, and even taking him to the top of buildings Jaune tracked her down. As he ran across the top of buildings the gang was close behind him on foot.

"What the hell!" cried Yang "Where is he going?"

"I would like to know how he knows where he's going! If he even does" muttered Weiss.

Suddenly Jaune was gone from their vision. He had found Blake. Jaune crouched on the roof of the Café and watched and listened to Blake and Sun who were currently seated in an outdoor café table.

"Wow so you were part of the White Fang huh….so what's it like being in a cult?" said Sun.

Jaune stared blankly at the table of two. He resisted so powerfully the urge to smack himself in the face with all his considerable strength.

"You have got to be freakin kidding me!" thought Jaune "Where does all this drama in team RWBY come from!"

Jaune sighed as he listened to the conversation. After a while he realized that Blake was trying to do something. Was it really his place to do anything for team RWBY? Seriously he had a date planned and everything! Regardless of his personal feelings on the matter Jaune was not stupid. If he didn't come back with anything then shit would hit the fan. So reluctantly Jaune listened in on the rest of the conversation.

As the two talked Jaune rolled his eyes. The monkey's attraction to Blake would have been funny if he wasn't trying to be all cool about it. Seriously, for Jaune it always irked him that people were never totally upfront about their feelings. You either told the person upfront or didn't talk about. Simple as that. That's why Jaune wanted the dinner tonight. It would be the perfect time to simply hang out with Pyrrha and enjoy her company without his nose breaking. That and Jaune was apprehensive about revealing his feelings to Pyrrha simply because he was unworthy of her, not hypocritical at all.

"Humans and their damn drama" muttered Jaune.

Finally Blake and Sun finished their conversation. Apparently they were going to inspect some container shipment of Dust later tonight at a harbour. Jaune nodded to himself as he stood up and just jumped off the roof. He landed with a resounding boom.

However when Jaune reached the ground he noticed something very peculiar about his thoughts.

When in the seven levels of hell did Jaune start thinking that dinner tonight was a date!?

"JAUNE!"

The blonde wolf turned around and saw Pyrrha running towards him. She smiled at him and the rest of team RWBY were close behind.

"Did you find her?" asked Weiss.

Jaune shrugged.

"Yes and no".

Weiss gave him the stink eye. Jaune gave them a placating gesture.

"Calm down I figured out where she's going alright. She's going to the docks tonight to see if it's truly the White Fang that are stealing the Dust".

Weiss calmed down as she made her way past Ruby and Yang.

"Woah where are you off to princess?"

Weiss looked at Yang with a questioning look.

"I'm going to knock some sense into my friend".

Yang and Ruby smirked. She finally got it.

"Alrighty!" yelled Ruby "Onwards to Blake!"

Jaune and Pyrrha watched as the trio marched their way to the docks. Jaune almost laughed out loud as they turned right away from their view.

"Those idiots realize the docks are the other way yet?" asked Jaune.

Suddenly the trio went the other way with Ruby announcing.

"OTHER WAY!"

Jaune rolled his eyes. Pyrrha giggled as she watched her friends go off to catch up with Blake. It was good to see that they were finally fixing things. That and Pyrrha was beginning to lose hope that Blake and Weiss would stop arguing. Good to see that lunch will be back to normal.

"So" said Jaune "dinner at 6?"

Pyrrha blushed lightly as she nodded.

"I uh…gotta go change" she said.

Jaune rose an eyebrow and watched as Pyrrha walked away. Dinner was in three hours and he didn't care if Pyrrha was in her school uniform.

Eh woman, he'd never figure them out. Jaune smirked as he decided to get things ready. If he was fast enough to get to the restaurant then he would be able to run the rest of the way to Beacon through the Emerald forest. Dinner tonight was going to off without a hitch. Jaune shook his head in irritation.

"Damn it" thought Jaune "Stop thinking it's a date!?"

Jaune shook his head as started to run. Run, run, run, run, run, seriously it's all he's been doing today.

- 2 hours and thirty minutes later with Pyrrha in JNPR's room-

Pyrrha looked at herself in the mirror. Ren and Nora were still out and Pyrrha was mentally debating if what she was wearing was good enough. She wore a deep red V-neck shirt that hugged her features along with jeans that were comfortable but fit snugly along her hips. She remembered that Jaune liked it when her hair was down so she let her hair down and took her tiara off. Pyrrha looked at her tiara with a slightly guilty look.

Her mother had gotten her this tiara after she won her first tournament. Looking at the tiara reminded Pyrrha how her mother would react to Jaune and any relationship she had with him. Suddenly that guilty expression turned into one of resolution. Pyrrha had had enough she was done being controlled by the fear of her mother's reactions and opinions. She was her own woman and by Monty damn Oum she was going to act like it!

Pyrrha smiled as she applied her usual eye liner and tidied her hair.

Pyrrha looked herself in the mirror and smiled. She was done pretending, she was done avoiding it.

Pyrrha Nikos really like Jaune Arc. It was fact. For weeks Pyrrha had constantly put herself down at the thought of her mother and her reactions and forgot the most important thing. Her own feelings. Unlike Jaune who dense and had….issues, Pyrrha was different. She knew the importance of her own emotions, of her self-worth. She, Pyrrha Nikos was finally going to embrace how she felt. With that said Pyrrha was still hesitant. She was still fearful of what the future held and if she was making the right choice. Jaune was her best friend and if attempting a relationship went badly…well she may end up losing him. However even so there was fact that Pyrrha would never deny.

Pyrrha Nikos adored her time with Jaune and no-one, not even her damn mother, was going to ruin this night. Suddenly to Pyrrha the world just seemed brighter. The weight in her chest and in her mind seemed to lift.

Pyrrha chuckled to herself as she realized the kind of hole she had dug herself into with her doubts clouding her mind. For a while Pyrrha had been her own restriction. But not anymore. Pyrrha remembered the advice Jaune's mother had given her. Pyrrha wanted to be with Jaune, she did, but she wasn't going to rush it. She'll let things developed before she makes her move. Pyrrha smiled brightly as she heard someone knock at her door.

"Who is it?" she asked.

"It's me now open up" said Jaune.

Pyrrha giggled. Jaune had to be the weirdest man she ever knew. Carried all the bad boy qualities that seemed to appeal to some woman but had the sweet nice guy next door vibe that just drew her in. In other words Jaune was a deadly combination to the likes of Pyrrha. The bad-boy with the heart of gold….well goldish. He had problems with being social and actually caring about others but you know what? He improved and that was all Pyrrha needed to know that Jaune was a good person.

She accepted that Jaune was anti-social and that he wouldn't stop being so tomorrow or even next week. Instead Pyrrha decided to take her time and let their relationship grow and see how things play out.

Pyrrha opened the door for Jaune and smirked as his eyes widened to almost comical proportions.

"…Are you alright" teased Pyrrha.

Jaune stuttered a bit as he collected himself. Pyrrha looked at Jaune and smiled. He wore a black jacket with white fur on the collar and around the wrist. He wore his standard ripped jeans and black shoes. Around his neck was the cord for the black dust. Jaune's hair was neat and tidy "Uh yea yea I'm fine. Are you ready?"

Pyrrha smiled and nodded. Together the two walked through the hallways and to the elevator. As they boarded the elevator and went down Jaune finger his collar.

"Monty is it hot in here or is it HOT in here?"

Jaune looked to Pyrrha and felt his ears burn. She was looking…she was looking.

Jaune felt a warmth surge through his heart as he smiled and looked at Pyrrha with a blissful content expression.

"She's beautiful".

Pyrrha blushed like the sun and looked at Jaune. It took Jaune a second to realize that he had said that out loud. Jaune sputtered a second before he collected himself.

"Well you effed it up Arc so own up to it" thought Jaune.

Jaune looked at Pyrrha and with all the conviction and emotion he could muster he smiled and looked Pyrrha dead in the eye.

"You look beautiful tonight Pyrrha. I mean that".

Pyrrha blushed heavily but smiled sweetly.

"Thank you Jaune. You look handsome tonight as well. So when are we going on the plane?"

Jaune smirked as he blushed. Beacon Academy employed a plane to get from the academy to the city. The commercial Dust plane had two stops, Vytal and Vale.

But tonight was going to be a night of surprises. When the elevator finally stopped Pyrrha was introduced to a sight she honestly never expected. John Arc was sitting on a still running silver motor cycle. He smirked when he saw Jaune and Pyrrha. Unlike John's Victory Hammer this motorcycle was built for two. While similar to the victory hammer this bike had a longer seat then John's which allowed two people to sit in the vehicle. Sadly it was a rather snug fit.

"Sup" said John.

Pyrrha looked at Jaune as he approached his uncle. The man stepped off the bike and let Jaune get on. John glared at his nephew. This was his other bike that he built on his own. It was his baby and Jaune was lucky he was in a slightly good mood to let him drive it tonight.

"One scratch Jaune just one scratch and I will kill you" growled John.

Before Pyrrha could say anything in thanks or something of a similar nature John simply left. Pyrrha smiled slightly at the man's attitude. It was endearing to be just 'Pyrrha' to someone. To be honest the red head was really falling in love with Jaune's family. None of them said anything about winning tournaments or being famous. If they were anything like Jaune they didn't even realize she was famous.

Blushing slightly Pyrrha hopped onto the bike. It was a tight squeeze for Pyrrha since she was forced to wrap her arms around Jaune. To be honest though this was never an issue. As the two drove away from beacon and to the city Pyrrha just let the wind blow through her hair. Helmets were a moot point considering they had aura and Pyrrha enjoyed the feeling. The red head smiled as she felt Jaune's aura. If Pyrrha were being honest with herself she really hoped that Jaune never really learned to reign in his power. While there wasn't a physical aura being released Pyrrha could still feel the energy coming off of her crush. It calmed her nerves and gave her a much needed boost in confidence.

She would need it for tonight that's for sure.

As Jaune finally drove into city Pyrrha looked around. They passed a district filled with fast food places. Pyrrha breathed a sigh of relief. If Jaune had taken them to any of those places then she either and her work cut out for her or he honestly thought of her as a friend. Either way she would be happy (not really).

Pyrrha noticed they were now passing through some chain restaurants such as Vale's Swiss Chalet and other restaurants. Pyrrha's smile fell off her face when she noticed they went passed that area and to another one entirely.

The expensive restaurants. These were top of the line, the cream of the crop, the place Weiss went when she wanted a bite to eat. Jaune parked his bike in front of one of the world's hardest restaurant's to get into.

"The Lunar Bar"

Like its name suggests the restaurant was once a bar before it expanded and evolved into one of the world's most popular celebrity restaurants. There was only one version of this restaurant in each kingdom so only four were currently open. Due to that the reservation lists were astronomically long. It was cool to look at and Pyhrra looked around to see what restaurant they were actually going to for dinner. Pyrrha stopped smiling when she saw Jaune approaching the door.

"Uh Jaune" said Pyrrha "You have a reservation right?"

Jaune simply smirked as he entered the restaurant. Inside the Lunar Bar it brought about a husky atmosphere. The room was darkly lit and the lighting shone like little stars giving it an outdoor feel. Pyrrha blushed as the patrons and waiters looked at her with dropped jaws and whispers. Jaune approached the waiter at the entrance with a grin. Pyrrha felt the heat rush to her face. Pyrrha herself, while down to earth, was still very much a player of the higher class. She hoped that Jaune didn't embarrass himself here, she honestly didn't want to listen to Weiss gloat.

"Hey Jerome how's it going".

Pyrrha groaned as Jaune gave the waiter a fist bump.

….wait what?
Jerome smirked as he lifted a pair of menu's into his arms.

"So you actually made it".

Jaune smiled.
"Was there any doubt".

The waiter snorted as he motioned for the pair to follow him.

"Your aunt bet ten bucks you wouldn't show up".

Pyrrha resisted the urge to pout in annoyance. Instead she smiled sweetly as she joined the conversation.

"Oh, I wasn't aware your Aunt Elise was joining us".

Jerome went to speak until Jaune smirked and shook his head. The man chuckled causing Pyrrha to blush slightly. What was so funny? Jerome seated the two at a corner seat that was situated in a V.I.P area. It was away from most prying eyes save a small few. Jerome kept the menu in his hands as he suddenly bowed in a grandiose fashion.

"May I present to you, the owner of Lunar Bar" said Jerome.

Pyrrha went wide eyed at the news. The Owner!? The elusive woman that owned the entire chain and creator of the dishes in the menu!? Pyrrha looked at Jerome as a woman of substantial height walked up to her and Jaune. She was the tallest woman she had ever seen, hands down. She stood at a solid 6'5 and was wearing a chief's uniform, without the hat. She had striking purple eyes and her dark auburn hair was in messy curls as it framed her face and only reached the tip of her shoulders. She had a slightly familiar face with an oval shaped chin, a short nose, and small but full lips. The woman had wide hips and C-cup breast. Pyrrha blinked at the beauty of the woman. Pyrrha's jaw dropped when the woman walked up to Jaune and proceeded pinch his cheeks.

"Oh how's my favourite nephew doing today?" asked the owner.

Jaune blushed furiously as he attempted to with all his strength pry his aunt's fingers from his face. The poor man's groaning was proof this was a failure. Pyrrha felt her jaw drop.

WHAT THE FUCK!

"Uhhhh".

The owner turned to Pyrrha and whistled.

"Damn your date is Pyrrha Nikos?"

Jaune blushed furiously but didn't say anything. Pyrrha blushed as well at the implication. The owner smiled as she playfully rubbed her nephew's hair.

"You're just like your mother, only attracted to the ridiculously strong".

Jaune rolled his eyes.

"Just stop Aunt Diana, please".

Pyrrha looked at the chaos in confusion until she noticed a small necklace made of what seemed like black crystal. The Black Dust.

"So" said Diana "I'll be making something I usually only make for the family today. It will take some time so you kids enjoy yourselves. If there's any problems just refer to my husband in the absence of your waiter".

Pyrrha mouth the words husband and turned around. Sure enough at another table, some distance away, was a somewhat older gentleman in his thirties in a nice grey suit. He was powerfully built and had striking black eyes. He was also reading a newspaper while slowly finishing a coffee and sandwich oddly enough. While the man was definitely older in appearance to Diana he was still someone that let off a youthful energy.

The man seemed to sense Pyrrha's stare and simply smiled and waved. Pyrrha waved back just as awkwardly and turned back to Jaune with a questioning look. Jaune smiled as his aunt walked back into the kitchen.

"My Aunt Diana owns the business "Lunar Bar" and my uncle owns a small mining company named PROMETHEUS. Unlike the Scnhee's his company focuses on all sorts of minerals and metals and not just Dust".

Pyrrha simply let Jaune's family roll over her. Jaune's mother, a badass that scared the living shit out of her, his Uncle a depressing anti-social asshole, his aunt Elise a woman who looked like something out of a princess movie, and now these two, a world class chef and a thriving business owner.

"Alright that's it" laughed Pyrrha "You're telling me everything!"

Jaune laughed as he smirked at Pyrrha.

"But where would the mystery go?"

Pyrrha playfully punched her love interest in the shoulder. The two laughed when suddenly Pyrrha smelled the one food that just made her mouth water. It was a dish her father made for her when she was a small child. It was actually a simple chicken pot pie. Something that normally wasn't served in such high end restaurants, even the Lunar Bar. Diana entered with a smile as she laid the food between Jaune and Pyrrha. She brought plates and utensils.

Pyrrha looked at Jaune and tried to find the words. Jaune interpreted this as though she was wondering why they were having such a simplistic meal.

"Well" said Jaune "I remember the last time we all went out as a team and you said your favourite dinner was what your father made you when you were a kid. So rather than some tooth pick meal I asked my aunt if she would make this for us tonight".

Pyrrha felt her chest swell up with emotion. He was kind to her, considerate, and most importantly didn't look at her tits when he talked to her. He actually wanted to get to know her, the real her. He was an ass sure, he was also fixated on some weird definition of a hero. But what made Pyrrha smile was the fact that Jaune didn't try to impress her with some fancy dinner and violins with a yodeling lady…don't ask it was a horrible date. Instead he remembered what she said weeks back and asked for it to be made…simply because she said she loved it. It would have made Pyrrha shed a tear if she wasn't already crying due to the pie.

"This is amazing!" said Pyrrha as she took another bite. Diana smiled brightly as she thanked Pyrrha.

Pyrrha smiled as she stared at Jaune. She savoured the pie as Jaune locked eyes with her. This man was honestly beginning to amaze Pyrrha. Sure he was an ass, anti-social, and had trouble feeling empathy, but Jaune was beginning to worm his way to the deepest parts of her heart. He was someone she would enjoy getting to know. Although his odd mentality towards being a hero is rather…odd. For someone that wants to be a hero so badly he certainly had problems feeling empathy. Still he understood at the very least that a hero helped others it was just he preferred the more violent aspects of being a hero.

Still though Pyrrha blushed as she held her hand out on the table. Her face flushed when Jaune placed his hand on top of hers with a powerful blush. The two stared at each other letting their eyes do the tal-

"…Are you two done staring at each other".

Pyrrha jumped in her seat and blushed in embarrassment while Jaune yelped and went rim-rod straight in his seat.

Pyrrha looked at Jaune's aunt and smiled awkwardly.

"S-sorry" stuttered Pyrrha.

Jaune stared at the red haired beauty for a long second.

"…that stutter was seriously too cute" thought Jaune.

Hey the blonde idiot may be constantly coming up with reasons why he will not date Pyrrha but that has nothing to do with appreciating her beauty and mannerisms. Diana smiled as she left the two to eat. As she walked away Diana watched her nephew beam at Pyrrha's happy expression. As she left the two alone she noticed her husband waiting for her at the door to the kitchen.

Diana's husband was a man named Blake Arc. Unlike most of the other Arc's this man was human, much like Arthur. He looked to be in his late twenties and early thirties. He had his hair styled in a short business cut. White peppered his dark brown hair and his face was clean shaven. His black eyes looked at his wife with silent adoration. As his wife stood before him it was noticeable that Blake was actually shorter than his dear wife by two inches.

"You're having too much fun with this".

Diana gave a sultry grin as she wrapped her arms around her husband's neck.

"Well sorry if I'm happy for my favourite nephew. I can't believe he's found a girl so soon, oh it warms my heart".

Blake gave his wife a blank look.

"You know they aren't dating just yet right?"

Diana rolled her eyes.

"Oh I know that Blake. So how's the company going?"

Blake smiled as he shrugged.

"Same as always. We got a steady supply of both money and materials".

Diana smiled as she noticed the growing mischievous look in her husband's eyes. Suddenly he took out two tickets from his jacket. They were to a famous rock group that were preforming tonight at the Vytal stadium.

Diana looked at the tickets with a small blush. She looked at her husband and smiled as she caressed his face. Without a word she simply rubbed her nose against her husbands and gave him a deep kiss. The man knew her inside and out. Sure he was slightly older then her, in appearance, but that never bothered Diana. What they have was real and strong. They were the longest running marriage in the Arc family…beside her parents. Sweet Monty her parents have been together a ridiculous amount of time.

As the two separated Diana felt her soul soar as it danced with Blake's. She shivered and sighed in appreciation as her husband's golden soul burned like the sun. Diana's soul was a dark blue and burned like ice. Because of her semblance she was always cold but Blake figured out a means to make her warm. It cost him a ridiculous amount of aura and it tired him greatly when he did it for a long period of time but he did it anyway every night. It was something Diana loved him for.

Silently the two looked at Pyrrha and Jaune. They smiled as they watched their nephew smiled and laughed along with his date.

"I think they'll be fine" said Blake.

Diana smiled and nodded.

"You're right. Let's go after I give them their drinks alright".

Pyrrha tried to breath as another fit of laughter escaped from her throat.

"IT… DID WHAT!" laughed Pyrrha.

Jaune chuckled as he nodded.

"All true I swear to Monty. A whole litter of wolf pups back home imprinted on me. Thought I was there mother. It was awesome the first few weeks. They were cuddly and everything but after words they got smarter and grew up. The only one left that stayed by me is Argent, a male Ice Wolf".

Pyrrha giggled and then stopped. Wolves, wolves! Wild animals were all but extinct thanks to the Grimm. Sure there were deer and other commercial animals but they were all safely kept in fake environments so the Grimm wouldn't kill them. The only wild animals left were the small ones like squirrels and chipmunks, no wild predators. Before she could ask her question Diana gave Pyrrha a glass of Sprite and Jaune a glass of thick silver liquid.

"A Sprite for Pyrrha and a glass of Arc Ale for Jaune".

Pyrrha watched with unveiled interest as Jaune took a large sip of alcohol and sighed in happiness.

"Oh that hits the spot" said Jaune.

Diana rolled her eyes and smiled at her nephew's silliness. Pyrrha eyed Jaune's pretty drink. Jaune smirked as he held the glass out to her.

"Want a sip?" asked Jaune.

Pyrrha hesitantly took the glass and gave it a sniff. She immediate recoiled. It didn't smell bad but rather the smell of fruits was mixed with the strong scent of alcohol the likes of which she's never experienced. Pyrrha looked at the glass hesitantly. Would it really be proper for someone like her to drink alcohol?

Pyrrha smirked as she thought to hell with it. Pyrrha took her first sip of alcohol and almost choked. The stuff tasted great she had to admit but it burned! She managed to take her large sip down her throat and let out a sigh. It tasted great but she was never drinking that stuff again. She focused back at Jaune and his aunt. She jumped in surprise when she saw Jaune, his aunt, and even his Uncle Blake, all staring at her with shocked expressions.

"…did I do something wrong?" asked Pyrrha.

Jaune tried to find his words as Diana bursted out laughing.
"You are the first person, Arc or otherwise, to take the first sip of Arc Ale like a champ! Ha! Even David cried like a baby when that stuff burned down his throat the first time he took a sip".

Pyrrha blushed as she looked away. She could feel herself becoming light headed. She was becoming tipsy. Thankfully thanks to aura she wouldn't be for long but Monty Oum she was getting tipsy! Jaune took another swig of his alcohol.

"…you don't get drunk do you?" asked Pyrrha.

Jaune smiled sheepishly and shrugged.

"Not really no. We usually start drinking this stuff to prepare us for the potions we use. Most of our alchemic solutions require alcohol as a base so we have to get used to both the taste and build up a tolerance. I've been building up my tolerance for years so no, I won't be getting drunk".

Pyrrha gave Jaune the stink eye. Jaune drank alcohol. Monty Oum what else was there? Suddenly Pyrrha felt her scroll, which was collapsed and stared in her jeans packets, vibrate with a message. Pyrrha apologized and took a quick look at the contents of what was sent.

Pyrrha went wide eyed. She looked at the half finished pie and whimpered in mock sadness. Jaune got a blank expression.

"…team RWBY?" he asked.

Pyrrha smiled and nodded. Jaune rolled his eyes.

"Do we have to help them?"

Pyrrha gave Jaune a look.

"Fine fine" said the wolf "lets go".

Jaune growled as he followed Pyrrha. Fuck team RWBY and whatever situation they got themselves into.

-At the Harbour-

Jaune was currently carrying Pyrrha on his back as he jumped with his full strength from roof top to roof top. Pyrrha had already fired off the command for her rocket locker to be dropped off at the harbour. Jaune was currently carrying Pyrrha to conserve aura, since his body was already capable of superhuman feats without the mystical energy.

As the duo landed at the harbour everyone turned to the two of them. Ruby waved enthusiastically as she hit another White Fang member away. Thanks to Jaune pointing out where Blake was going to go Ruby and others staked out the harbour with Sun and Blake. The five had been fighting the White fang ever since the text to Pyrrha was sent out. Jaune smirked as he cracked his knuckles and stalked towards Roman. Pyrrha gained a determined look in her eye as her rocket locker landed beside her, granting her weapons to her once more.

"Oh look more kids" muttered Roman as he dodged Blake's strikes without looking. As the White Fang members charged at Jaune the blonde wolf simply bitch smacked them away. One of the White Fang members were hit into one of the metal storage bins. Instead of bouncing off the poor Faunus was hit so hard that he made a dent and was stuck in it. Roman rose an eyebrow at this. The kid was brutal that was for sure.

"…a kid on steroids…that's just great".

Jaune growled as he looked at Pyrrha. Pyrrha noticed Jaune's eyes beginning to glow gold. His necklace Dust piece was also beginning to turn white. Pyrrha gave Jaune a sharp nod. They needed to finish this quickly, before Jaune's dust ran out. When Jaune became emotional, his aura would react to his emotional state, the black dust suffered as a result. It was the reason Jaune's eyes glowed gold whenever he was angry. Thanks to this phenomenon however Jaune's Dust was running out.

"Let's finish this quickly" said Pyrrha.

Jaune cracked his neck and shoulders as he growled deeply at the White Fang members that surrounded him. The growl was loud enough that every stopped fighting for a minute. All the Faunus in the area shivered at the blood lust that oozed from Jaune's form.

"I'll give you one chance" said Jaune "Just one. Stand down and get out of the way".

No one moved. Jaune smiled.

"Good. Prepare to die".

Jaune dashed forward and punched a White Fang member in the face, sending him flying. Without aura these poor foot soldiers didn't stand a chance against Jaune's inhuman strength or any of the other students of Beacon. Jaune laughed as he twirled around his opponents, breaking bones and spilling blood. While it was certainly dirty none of Jaune's opponents were near death or critical status. They would live.

Roman resisted the urge to sweat at the show the Arc boy was giving everyone. The smile on his face as he danced around blood and broken bodies certainly made it worse.

"What they say is true about the Arc's" said Roman "They're friggen nuts".

Without even looking Roman pulled the trigger on his cane and got a head shot on Blake. He ducked under Ruby's scythe and used her momentum to chuck her into a wall. Thankfully Yang and Weiss were busy with other opponents to deal with Roman but thanks to Jaune and Pyrrha, his grunts were being dealt with rather quickly. However before Ruby and Blake could tag team Roman with Sun again a large White Fang member with a chain saw came running out from the storage bins.

"The beacons are set sir. Permission to destroy Schnee trash and associates".

Roman sighed to the heavens. Finally, help that was actually helpful!

"Yes" said Roman "Kill them for all I care".

The large Faunus revved his chainsaw like sword as he rushed Sun. Roman smirked as he motioned for Blake to come at him. Secretly up his sleeve was a shard of red dust. Ruby charged at him as well. Blake and Ruby were both ordinarily smart. However they were still inexperienced and weren't prepared when Roman suddenly charge the Red dust. The shard was large as it flew out of Roman's sleeve thus the explosion knocked both Blake and Ruby back. Roman chuckled. He would have been out of here already if it wasn't for Darkin's fuck up back at Riancarn. The retard brought their pilot with them and failed to mention it when he brought said pilot. Thanks to that ass not making it back the higher ups never knew he was gone until he was called upon and didn't show. The White Fang may be powerful but that didn't mean they were as organized and skilled as the other kingdom's militaries.

Sadly this was what Roman was suffering as he awaited their ride to safety. Roman sighed as he tilted his head to dodge another shot by Blake. Monty these kids were persistent.

"You'll have to do better than that" taunted Roman.

Roman quickly assessed his situation. Even though he was facing against the duo and he was holding his own Roman knew he'd get done in at some point. Now Roman was confident in his abilities but by no means was he stupid. He knew his limits and killing a couple of students from Beacon would put a fire under his ass he couldn't put out. Due to that he was in a bind. How could he buy some time without getting weared down by the rotten kids?

Roman smirked as he thought about it. A hostage would be perfect. Roman dodged a strike from Ruby.

"Little red would be perfect" thought Roman "If I could even get my hands on her".

Roman wasn't going anywhere near Blake. She was a slippery one for sure. The monkey with his staff would be a little more difficult so no there. As Roman jumped away he thought of perhaps using the Arc boy.

He took a quick look over at Jaune and watched as he bashed two of his grunts heads together.

"….seriously what the hell are they feeding these kids!"

Suddenly Roman saw an opening with Pyrrha. Utterly surrounded by Faunus without an aura. It was obvious she could defeat them all in a second but the fear of permenantly harming them was heavy on her mind, unlike Jaune's. Pyrrha carefully incapacitated one soldier at a time.

"….This will work" muttered Roman.

With a burst of his aura Roman rocketed himself into the fray with Pyrrha. Before Pyrrha could react Roman put her into a neck hold and aimed a barrel at her head. His cane glowed its dark orange colour as his aura empowered his weapon. An advance skill that right now made his little cane bullets the equivalent of an anti-tank rife round. In other words not even Jaune would get up from that long range, much less point-blank.

"Alright kiddies I think that's enough for today hmm? Now sit tight until our ride gets here".

Ruby sweated as she was brought to a dilemma that not even third years would be prepared for.

A hostage situation. Pyrrha began to calculate ways to break Roman's hold without getting her head blown off. It would take some preparing-

"HEY".

Pyrrha looked surprised as she watched Jaune scowl at Roman.

"Let her go" demanded Jaune.

Roman chuckled.

"Oh what are you going to make me? Try it, I guarantee her head will pop like a balloon".

Jaune felt his blood boil. Kill Pyrrha? KILL PYHRRA!? Hell to the fuck no! No one threatens an Arcs friend, NO ONE. Jaune snarled as his eyes bled gold. Roman rose an eyebrow at the light show. The boy's aura began to emanate from his body. It was a large burst of power, far from it, but it was still impressive.

"…uh…what's that supposed to do?" asked Roman.

Jaune felt his hand twitch as he glared at Roman. The ass-hat didn't know who he was dealing with. Pyrrha would kick his ass in under a second. She..she just needed a distraction. Jaune smirked as he realized the perfect way to get her out.

"Nicely done" said Jaune "you got a hostage. But I think you dropped your balls along the way".

Roman felt his eye twitch. The little shit. Jaune grinned even further as he growled.

"Oh look at Roman Torchwick, the scourge of Vale! Yea right, my left testicle is more threatening than your pansy ass. Are you that afraid of Pyrrha that you had to sneak up on her with over a dozen soilders covering you back? It wasn't even an assassination! There's a word my family has for a man like you" said Jaune grinning.

"A little bitch".

Roman snarled as he readied his cane to shoot. The loud clicking of the gun echoed through the harbour. The white fang soldiers that were fighting Pyrrha were now behind Roman. All the White Fang members cowered in fear as a sudden feeling of death washed over them.

"Do it and there will be no force on Remnant that will stop me from ripping you apart!" growled Jaune.

The sudden surge of killing intent, from a kid no less, startled Roman. A young man like Jaune shouldn't be able to manifest the urge to kill like he did. It was so surprising that Roman jumped. That little twitch was all Pyrrha needed. With his attention distracted Roman was elbowed in the stomach and thrown to the side. Roman growled in irritation but suddenly smiled. Before anyone could close in on him a young woman dressed in white with a parcel appeared and then smiled at them. With a wink a bright flash of white blinded everyone. When everyone opened their eyes they noticed that all the White Fang members and Roman were gone save for a few stragglers.

"….what the hell just happened" asked Jaune.

Everyone shrugged as they came together. Near the dock was a limo with a small ginger girl looking out the window.

"Apparently I wasn't needed" said Penny.

"No my dear it appears not. Your day will come though. You're meant to save the world after all".

Penny smiled as she bounced in her seat. On top of one of the buildings overlooking the group laughing and joking around, except Jaune, was none other then Ultor.

The grey haired priest smiled as he looked at Jaune. His eyes were wide and a small blush adorned his features.

"Oh my" said Ultor "No wonder the old fart wants you killed. Such strength and vigor!"

Ultor licked his lips as the wind blew away that hair that covered his left eye. The white of his eye was blood red and the pupils were a blackish blue and had slits like a cats.

"Jaune Arc…you will be mine" said Ultor "I guarantee it".

Ultor laughed as he disappeared in the wind, his body dispersing as if it wasn't even there. On the ground Jaune's ear twitched and he looked at the buildings surrounding them. Suddenly his ears picked up the sound of sirens.

"Incoming" said Jaune.

Blake had a confused expression before her ears finally picked up the sound as well. She gave a look at Jaune. Now that the whole White Fang fiasco was over she could bring her attention to something that's been bothering her.

What in the hell were Jaune and Johnathan.

As the police vehicles moved in Jaune was surprised at the sight of his Uncle Arthur stepping out of one. The older Arc gave Jaune a slightly disappointed look.

"RAWR!" growled Yang "Who's the hottie".

Said hottie looked at Yang and flatly said

"I'm Jaune's uncle".

Yang blushed. She knew she was a bit of a flirt but she never went further then complimenting someone's appearance. Now here was a man that was looking at her as if she wasn't something to be considered. It shocked her really while Yang was far from arrogant or snobby she knew without a doubt that she was drop dead gorgeous. That and the man was Jaune's uncle!?

"Hey Uncle Arthur what's up?" asked Jaune.

Arthur gave a small glare at Jaune.

"Nothing much. Save for the fact you ruined our stake out on Roman".

It was Blake that stepped forward.

"We were trying to stop him unlike you!"

Arthur rose an eyebrow and with a blank face gave a small round of applause.

"Congratulations. Well in that case do you have their base of operations?"

Blake shook her head.

"Oh well that's too bad. It's not like we could have followed them with a crate of fake dust. I mean it's nowhere near as flashy as a full on brawl".

Jaune began to sweat. There was one thing that irked his uncle Arthur. Someone messing with his plans. Didn't matter if the plan sucked or ruled, you fucked with it Arthur would destroy you.

"Oh no" thought Jaune.

Blake and everyone else had the decency to look down. Still thought Arthur sighed as he smiled.

"You kids didn't do anything wrong" said Arthur "and we also won't be pressing charges for property damage and vigilantism under one condition".

Arthur looked at Blake.

"You tell us everything about the White Fang, everything. You cooperate and we'll destroy any and all records that link you to the White Fang and allow your continued education at Beacon Academy".

Blake's jaw dropped at the sudden demand. Arthur looked dead in her eyes. Ozpin was going to try and pry it out of her when she got back but Arthur decided a more…pressing approach was needed. She was obviously a supporter of the old White Fang, the peaceful one. However there were reports of a assailant that wore a black bow from a survivor of the train they crashed. Due to this information Arthur would not hold back. He would threaten her current sense of security to get his information. Unlike the dear General of Atlas however he would keep his word. Arthur would remove all implications of Blake to the White Fang, that way the media wouldn't have any solid proof that Blake was ever a part of it.

"So what do you say?" asked Arthur.

Blake hesitantly nodded. She followed Arthur as he loaded her into the police car. What option did Blake have? Beacon Academy was both a career path and protection. Nobody would fuck with Ozpin Octavius and his students. The last guy that did it was killed in an instant by Ozpin.

That guy was herald as the strongest in the world.

Enough of history though. Arthur nodded the other students of Beacon to load themselves into police vehicles. They were being brought in for questioning. As the teens moved to obey the law Jaune couldn't help but grin awkwardly at Pyrrha.

"So the date ends you ending up being a hostage and us being taken in with the police. How does that rate on your date list?"

Pyrrha smirked as she suddenly kissed Jaune on the cheek and whispered in his ear.

"The best one I've ever had".

Jaune blushed furiously as he watched Pyrrha walk a litte faster, putting a sexy sway in her hips. Jaune went bug eyed. In fact he was so shell shocked he didn't hear Yang's puns and Weiss's scandalous tones. Jaune smirked as he hopped into the passengers seat with his Uncle.

Life was going good.

Arthur started the engine and look at his nephews stupid smiling face. Arthur smirked as he brought his nephew's attention back to reality.

"We have a slight problem" said Arthur.

Jaune looked at his Uncle. As Arthur drove down the street he began to describe the predicament's that were befalling Vale. Apparently the Arcs were called in and hired by the mayor of Vale to purge the monsters that walked Vale's streets. Everyone was in on it, well all the Arcs of the north any way. Jaune had some distant relatives that all based themselves throughout the four kingdoms just in case the monsters resurged. Sadly for them those long distant relatives would have to come to Beacon for missions until terminals were set up for them.

Back to Vale though. All of Jaune's immediate family were still hunting their own monsters and it was Jaune's responsibility to hunt a particular beast after school.

"It's a cursed beast of some kind. We havn't sent anyone to check it out yet. Its been tormenting this guy for the last week. It hasn't gone near him yet or harmed him but it gets closer and closer every night. The man said its shaped like a bear".

Jaune nodded. His first official hunt. Arthur noticed the growing smile on his nephew and smirked.

"Its good that you're excited. John will be equipping you with some proper armour tomorrow. Be thankful Jaune for Johnathan made your armour with the parts of the Fiend you killed".

Jaune smirked further. In other words what John had made was personal armour, armour made from the materials of the creatures he personally killed. Not only that but he would finally upgrade from Crocea Mors. It was going to be awesome.

However Jaune couldn't help but think. What was that sound he heard before the police came? Either way at the moment it didn't matter.

There was a hunt to commence.
