So your probably wondering where I was? Well my revision has started! It's the holidays and I still have to go into school, I got 2 maths tests and an English test for homework! And school has been stressing me out! Big time! But I've been getting through it. With visits to see films and also talking to my buddy, night-fury-baby, which is doing an awesome story for dragons! Im enjoying it so far! And she has become a really good friend to me! If you check her out, maybe send a review saying that her buddy httydlover626 has sent ya! Im sure she will appreciate it! Anyway im sure you want to know what happened to our young couple, so here you go chapter 9 of What if…!
Astrid's PoV
I closed my eyes. This was a bad idea… I mean why would he want to see all these scars in the first place? By the gasp that escapes his mouth I know I must look horrid. I hate myself. I now look horrid and now he has to live with this sight stuck in his memories. After a few minutes of nothing, I decide I need to leave, so I turn around, ready to run away. But when I feel him cup my face and turn my face I gasp in surprise.
"Astrid, look at me… please" I shake my head in disagreement, not wanting to see his face. "Why not? There's nothing to be afraid of… I promise…" I shield myself, silent tears now falling down my cheek… now he definitely won't like me… im so weak… but I still open my eyes…
Hiccup's PoV for the same situation.
When she finishes her transformation I gasp at her scars. There are so many! But they make her seem so beautiful… especially the one on her left eye… I don't know why… but I suddenly felt this warmth in my stomach. And looking at her face… Wow… she looks gorgeous… I then think back to the few days I spent with her before the events that changed our lives forever… but I loved her… had growing feelings for her… and seeing her like this has re-sparked those feelings… I then look at her now… she has her eyes closed… Without thinking I reach out and cup her face, making her face me.
"Astrid, look at me… please" When she still doesn't open her eyes, but shakes her head in disagreement, I start to worry. "Why not? There's nothing to be afraid of… I promise…" When she doesn't reply, but opens her eyes, I sigh in relief. But when she avoids eye contact and stares at her feet, I become worried again. "What's wrong?" I start to stroke the scar on her eye and she seems to relax somewhat.
"Why... Why haven't you walked off? A chief like you shouldn't like someone part dragon, part human… You deserve someone who is worth chief status… not… me…" More tears full down her cheek. "See! I am weak! I am crying in front of the chief's face! No chief deserves this!" she gestures to herself and turns away from me.
"Astrid…" I grab her shoulder and turn her around, making her face me. "I don't care if your part dragon, part human! I only care about the fact that you are you… I think the scales make you stand out in the best way! I also love these scars! They remind me about what you did for the village and for me… you saved my life, and you also saved these dragons! You saved my people and brought back my mum!" I cup her face again and make her look into my eyes. "You are beautiful Astrid… and I... I... love you…" I blush but keep a serious face and keep eye contact.
"Really?" She asks, still looking at me with disbelief.
"Yes! Gods yes Astrid! I can't imagine life without you anymore! You are too important… I love you…" I start to move closer to her, and start to pull her closer. When she doesn't object, but starts to move closer too, I lean in the rest of the way and lightly brush my lips with hers. And when she grabs the bottom of my flight suit and slightly deepened the kiss, I know she has the same feelings. After about a minute of the slow and possibly the best moment of my life, we slowly pull apart. We both look at each other's eyes again, and her icy blue eyes hypnotise me. They are stunning. And the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. And they make me lean in for another kiss. When she pulls me closer and again deepens the kiss, I encircle my arms around her and pull her closer, loving the feeling of her closeness. When we pulled away from this kiss, her arms had encircled my neck pulling my forehead down to hers, and my arms were embracing her. I closed my eyes enjoying the moment. At last, we both knew each other's feelings and we both knew… we loved each other.
Normal PoV
What the young couple didn't know was that two older women and a black dragon had been watching them. The dragon seemed a bit angry but wasn't sure what to think. But both women hushed him, telling him they were meant for each other.
Phlegma's PoV
After seeing my long lost child kiss my new chief, I cried with joy. Finally, the people who were meant for each other have shown their love for one another. I wish Sven would love her. But unfortunately he thinks that if he loves his daughter he will get a curse. He seemed amazed when I told him that she had survived 7 deaths. But he still didn't like the fact I was paying attention to my daughter. I need to show him Astrid is kind and wants his love. What's even worse is that she does take after him… she has gotten a lot of her personality from him, like stubbornness and her strength and courage. Yes you could argue it was the alpha who took her in, but she was courageous before she was taken, because she wasn't afraid of dragons.
Sven's PoV (back at his house)
I wish my wife would come home already! We have to prepare ourselves for tonight… there might be a dragon raid again. Oh you didn't know? Well the dragon raids still go on… and with the alpha on berk, I have suspicions that my 'daughter' is leading these raids. I also hate the fact that she has won most of Berk over, but surely if she was good, the raids wouldn't be happening! So she must be evil! And she's cursed! No normal human being without a curse can turn into a dragon! So I know for a fact that she will hurt my family. So why would I want to be near her? I can tell Phlegma is trying to make me see Astrid in a good way, but it isn't going to work. She is evil and not going to be allowed near me or my house. My wife can go near her, but if she dies I will kill that Fury!
Astrid's PoV (after the kiss).
Wow… that was amazing. He loves me. And I shared my first kiss. It was new really. I never really understood a kiss, but what I do know, is I love it. And I love Hiccup. He was smiling at me now, our foreheads still touching.
"So, where are you staying? I don't want you to be too uncomfortable" The question caught me off guard. Where was I staying? I couldn't stay with my mum when my dad hates me.
"Well I guess I will stay with the rest of the nest. I can't really stay anywhere else…"
"Well… you could always stay with me… I mean, it's not fair that you go from a padded mattress to a stone floor. So you can stay with me… If you want! I'm not forcing you to… Gods I messed that up…" I giggle at his statement.
"If you want me to stay at yours, I'll stay at yours. If I will be a bother however I won't. I don't want to bother you…"
"You won't be a bother. I want you to stay with me" He blushes at his statement. I smile and kiss his cheek.
"If you're sure, then lets gets going" I transform into my Tiger Fury form and lean down, allowing him easy access onto my back. Once he was secured I took off gently, gliding over Berk calmly. I was looking around trying to work out which house was Hiccups when he suddenly spoke.
"There, that's my house" He pointed down at a house a little further out of the village. I make a slow decent and land softly. I crouch down and let him climb off me before transforming back into my human form and following him into his house. Once he closes the door behind me, he walks in front of me and starts to climb the stairs. "My rooms up here" He smiles at me before continuing. I follow his lead and soon im standing in his room, while he gets some blankets ready on the floor.
"Ok, so I'm taking the blankets… you can take my bed, and assuming you don't have night clothes you can borrow one of my bigger shirts… they should act as a shirt and a short leg cover." I glare at him.
"I will take the shirt, but I will be taking the blankets! Im not taking your bed. It isn't fair. Remember I would have been on a rock floor, so having the blanket is good. And if I feel uncomfortable, I will become my Tiger Fury form, and I will sleep like that… its fine." He seemed reluctant. But I stare at him intensely and he could obviously feel he wouldn't win the fight. He sighs loudly.
"I'm not going to win am I? He looked defeated.
"Nope! Get used to it" he sighed again, and then started to arrange the blankets, so that they are spread out enough that they would be able to accommodate the size of my Tiger Fury form. I tell Hiccup to turn around, and then slip off all my clothes except my under garments and then pull the shirt over my head. After that, I settle into the blankets. I hear Hiccup get changed and slip into bed also.
"Goodnight Astrid"
"Goodnight Hiccup"
A few minutes later, I hear the slow, steady breathing of Hiccup, and it brings me comfort. I slowly drift into a sleep, where I dream of the previous events.
3 hours later…
I shoot up at the sound of shouting and roaring. I hear Hiccup struggling with what must be his clothes, and when I look out the window I see an orange glow.
"What's going on?" I look towards Hiccup, who has just gotten his armour on.
"Dragon raid" And soon he's shooting downstairs. I quickly get up and throw my armour on before running after him.
I push the door open and stop dead in my tracks. Dragons and Vikings attacking one another. How…? Why…? Wait… those aren't my dragons… I've never seen those markings before… I look over to where my nest is settled and I see them looking at the other dragons in confusion. I look back and know straight away I need to stop this. Whoever is controlling them I need to break its connection. Get through to those dragons.
I transform into my fury form and shoot into the air. I look around the area, trying to see what I can do and if I can see some sort of leader. I land on a perch and use my alpha ability to try and take over the dragons below.
Some almost instantly became under my control. But there was a group who wouldn't accept it and shoot right at me. I jumped off the edge and flew towards a clear patch on the ground landing. They landed not too far away, and started to circle me. They were going to attack for sure. When one lunged, I stepped to the side and then used my tail to slam it away. Two others lunged at the same time, but I was quicker and jumped into the air before slamming into them, knocking both unconscious. Soon the rest of the group attacked, but all I obtained was a few scratches, one being a little deep, but nothing too bad. What all they got, was unconsciousness. My wounds did however, need to be treated, but due to other Vikings having bigger injuries, Hiccup volunteered instead.
Once I made sure all the dragons who I stopped attacking the village were either settled into my nest and the ones who attacked me were chained up, I went back to Hiccups house where he had already gotten ready the bandages and cream. I change into my human form and sit down where Hiccup instructed me to.
"You need to stop obtaining injuries" He looks up at me, after patching up my arm, with a playful but serious look on his face.
"Im sorry im protecting the village and the things im protecting them from happen to be violent…" He gives me a look of care.
"But I want you to be safe… especially when you only just got out of the healers hut. I hate seeing you in pain or seeing you injured…" I give him a small smile.
"I know you don't like it… but im used to it" I cup his face.
"What was with those dragons anyway… why did they attack…? I thought your dragons weren't hostile." He gave me a confused and worried look.
"They weren't my dragons… im suspecting there is a nest around the area that may have a queen that is using her power for bad instead of good… I'll have to find it and see about making those dragons apart of my nest…"
He nods, while looking at me.
"What?" I give him a confused look.
"Don't get yourself hurt again… so if you go… im going to… you are my dragon and I am your rider… and I care about you… so im going with you… no matter what you say" He gives me a serious look that could be menacing if under different circumstances.
I sigh. "Ok… but it might be dangerous…" I look at him with a worried expression.
"I know… that's why im going with you" He gives me a smile.
I smile back. "We should probably get some sleep… after we wake up we need to tell Valka and whoever else needs to know about this…"
He nods in agreement and stands up and heads up the stairs, me right behind him.
Soon we are both back in our nightwear and both lying down on our respective beds.
"Goodnight again Astrid" I hear Hiccup tiredly say.
"Night Hiccup" Is my reply back, before I get comfortable and fall asleep.
The Next day.
Me and Hiccup are already telling the village what the plan is.
"Ok! So mine and Astrid's plan is simple. We are all going to the dragon nest that is somewhere close by. We are going to talk to the queen ruling it. We are all going except for the children and carers for them as I don't trust you with my mum or anyone for that matter. No offence. But we are going out to the nest. Now, Astrid has said it might get nasty. So we are going to take catapults and make sure we are prepared. Now… prepare the ships, and catapults. We leave as soon as possible!"
Soon Vikings are moving around the village and docks, trying to be ready as soon as possible. Some of the stronger dragons in my nest are tied up to the ships so we can get there faster.
5 hours after meeting.
We are now out on the see, me and Hiccup flying ahead, leading the boats and dragons. I left the rest of my nest at the island, making sure it is protected, leaving Toothless in charge. Valka is behind us on Cloudjumper, coming to help see what the queen's motivation is.
Rock stacks start to appear and start to surround us, meaning we had to slow to make sure the boats could operate around them.
After an hour of going through the rocks, we make it to shore. All the dragons land, including myself, and we all start to get the catapults up. Once we are ready, I get the all clear from Hiccup, before standing on a rock and roaring a greeting to the queen.
A low and loud roar emits from the mountain in the centre of the island.
"LEAVE AT ONCE! YOU HAVE ALREADY STOLEN SOME OF MY DRAGONS!" she sounded very irritated. Perfect.
"And I am here to collect the other enslaved dragons! How dare them you make them do your dirty work!" I roar back.
"HOW DARE YOU! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!?" she obviously doesn't know what happened.
"I AM ASTRID HOFFERSON! THE TIGER FURY AND ALPHA OF BERK!"
"ARE YOU CHALLENGING ME, LITTLE DRAGON?" She seemed to like the fact I wasn't a very big dragon.
"NOW I AM! COME OUT AND FACE ME! UNLESS YOU'RE SCARED?"
"THAT'S IT!" soon there a rumble to the ground, making everybody shake. That's when the mountain side is completely knocked down; revealing a Red death (that's the name on the website, so im using it) though this one is a lot bigger than other ones I've seen. (There was a dragon in the second film, when flying out of the nest that looked a lot like the red death, but normal, like a Zippleback, sized). I was a little taken aback, but when I felt Hiccup jump onto my back, I snapped out of it and shot into the air. The Vikings on the ground were running to the other side of the island like had been instructed by Gobber and Valka, While I roared out to my dragons to fly to safety.
Soon, me and Hiccup are getting height before I do a U-turn and shoot towards the ground charging up a bolt and firing it at the oversized dragon. As we pull up, I here Hiccup shout that the death is after us. I take that as a hint to start flying faster. But it doesn't help, when I can hear the loud wing beats of the beast that is planning on killing me. I remember Hiccup is on my back and make it my main priority to keep him safe. I shoot into the air, climbing it as fast as I can. I need to irritate he beast. I need to burn it from the inside. So I see the black clouds above and use them. I fly straight into them, becoming unseen by the beast that tried to eat me, by snapping at me.
While circling it as quietly and stealthily as possible, I could hear its complaints.
"WHERE ARE YOU!? YOU LITTLE DEVIL!"
I say hidden, until I can see she might give up, before firing up and shooting towards her, then releasing a big bolt, pulling up and moving away quickly. I can see the frustration on the queen's face. Perfect. I continue to shoot bolts at her, making her more agitated.
"IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO COME OUT WILLINGLY! I WILL JUST FORCE YOU!" Soon, the sky was lit up with streams of fire, trying to hit us, and it did catch hiccup, but not enough to burn him. But it made me mad. She wanted me. She can have me. I do a U-turn and start to roar taunts at her. She tries to snap, but I avoid and head towards the earth, allowing gravity to build up my speed. Though when you have a gigantic dragon on your tail, you start to see it doesn't help much. She roars an aggressive roar, but I don't look back, I allow Hiccup to judge, knowing he will know when to shot.
"Hold Astrid…"
Those few seconds were the most intense; I started to quietly build up a bolt, ready for the signal.
"…NOW!" I turn my body around, and shot the bolt right into here awaiting mouth, making the gas build up ignite from within. The fire catches her off guard, so she opens her wings suddenly. The force of the wind starts to tear them apart. She starts to lose control of her flight, and I know I need to get out of there. I turn around to see the ground approaching faster and faster. I pull my wings out and shoot back, before turning up and flying along her back.
What would you do if you felt heat on your tail? I looked back, picked up my speed, and didn't see what was in front of me. I didn't pay attention to Hiccups screams, until the last second. I turned around and before I can do anything, im hit by a tail, which could be described as a massive mace. I keep consciousness. But what I see haunts me. Hiccup, the one I love, falling towards the flame. I didn't even think before diving towards him. I managed to reach out and grab him, just before the flames engulfed him completely. But… I was hit by a wing… I lost control… I lost my grip on him… And even though it didn't look like I was because they were evaporated, but I roared out a scream of pain, water vapour forming due to my tears… I just lost my Hiccup…
And so, that is that… Don't worry! There will be another chapter! And many more after that! If I still have my supporters :P so this is that! My next task is Legend of the Tiger Fury… though it might be a while before that… I have my first exam on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May (10 hour exam) and then my last exam is the 12th of June… so maybe not a chapter, but! My holiday will be 10 weeks long, and I am going to love my college course! And my college! They sent me an Easter egg and I don't even go there yet! Reviews are appreciated and I reply if I can!
