This is long so bare with me...
I am grateful for you guys. I really am and reading, commenting and liking my story means a lot to me. That's why I read each and every review and I tried my best to communicate with all of you. I always read your reviews and accept them all. At this chapter, One review slaps me the hardest.
Guest chapter 9 . Dec 28
...Seriously, what's up with stories I like ending so poorly, lately? Nothing like a "deep" ending to ruin any interest I had in the story preceding. What a waste.
After receiving reviews telling me they were disappointed or the ending sucks made me re-read the story. And you're right, Guest. The fight was petty. Thank you for your insight. :)
So I've decided to write another chapter, the real ending. And this time, it's a happy one, a real happy ending. *I promise* So thank you dear readers if you still stick to my story but if not, thank you for the time you spent reading it. I do hope you like this ending and if ever you like to have an epilogue, don't be shy to say it ;) You know how much I love you guys *Tears rolling down my cheeks*
Again, THANNKKKKK YOOOUU ALLLLLL :D
P.S: This is also my "I'm sorry I suck" gift. Hope you forgive me :)

Love makes you want to be a better man.
But maybe, love, real love, also gives you permission to be just the man you are.
- Gillian Flynn, Gone Girl
Outside the air was cold and wet even though she's a different creature she still feels the coldness climbing at her back. Tightening her grip at her black leather jacket she walks eagerly, as humanly fast as possible.
This is her daily cycle; Party all night sleep all day.
For a week, a new Caroline Forbes emerges.
Far from being a neurotic, controlling freak on crack, she revolve into a devil may care person.
Strutting like a queen at the bar. She has now all the rebel chick glory and she loves every bit of it.
"Hi"
Twelve seconds.
Exactly twelve seconds after sitting at the stool, Caroline already has her victim.
"Hello" She sweetly spoke earning the man a grin.
"Why are you alone beautiful lady?"
"Well, my boyfriend ditches me something about being late."
"That's too bad, why don't you join us? My friends are in the VIP room."
She leans closer at the man getting an unambiguous portrait at him. He's hot, but he can't beat him, his oozing sex appeal, curly blonde hair and perfect dimples, her Niklaus.
She shook her head getting the hybrid out of her mind.
Finally, she decided to cut the chase; Caroline invited him.
"I have a better idea, why don't we just go outside."
Without a beat, the victim accepted.
−/−
Swiftly she moves not wasting any time she attacks him.
Caroline was on the verge of draining the poor lad when a man powerfully shoves her at the wall.
How dare him! She's going to retaliate! Whoever interrupts her would suffer but before she could get her vengeance her head was snapped immediately.
In front of the bar, a man carried an unconscious blonde lady.
−/−
"Hello Blondie."
As soon as he witnessed her eyes fluttering, Damon opened his mouth,
"Damon! Are you out of your mind?!"
"Oh! Teens today and their underage drinking, last time I check you're supposed to be Stefan's sober coach and here you are draining that bloke."
She rolled her eyes. Trying to escape, she rapidly set her foot on the ground only to be pushed back by the vervain ropes.
"Vervain ropes? Seriously?! You know how much I hate those."
"Yeah yeah Daddy kidnaps his little girl. Poor you just stop wiggling then you're going to save yourself from your own agony."
"Why are you here and what are you doing Damon?"
Damon exhale noisily, "A, You've been missing for a week. All of them were worried sick about you Blondie and here you are partying USA. We're supposed to be celebrating your debut remember?" he smiled, "and B, I'm bringing you back to Romeo you're going to fix this and everyone will be happy again."
"I'm not going back to him. Damon let me out!"
"Nope, that's not gonna happen. Oh! I'm curious. How are you doing back here? You know this whole pretending to hate Klaus thing is getting a little silly."
Suddenly her voice changes the strength is gone only to be replace by a plaintive whine,
"It's because. . . "She sinks her teeth into her lower lip, "Why are you helping Damon?"
He smiled and answer, "You know, I look at Klaus and see a less dashing, less intelligent version of me… But we are the same. We are selfish, we protect ourselves first that's who we are and it's not going to change just because you or Elena swoop right in."
Damon looks at her, his light blue eyes caught her attention.
"There's no apology in the world that encompasses all the reasons that Klaus is wrong for you. But do you know what kind of miracle it is that Klaus is who he is? Do you know how rare it is that someone as evil as him exists and yet still an optimist! He still believes in true love and magic and soul mates or whatever crap that Bella and Edward had. He's waiting for you. And if you don't come back from this,"
He shuts his eyes then open them, hoping what he would say next would change her,
"If you don't come back from this you will change who he is Caroline. I couldn't just sit and let it happen."
And then, there was silence.
While drinking another mouthful of bourbon from his glass, Klaus kind of hoped that the sea of memories will part, and find his slumber at the end.
But then again, those things –things like how Caroline smiled at him, things like how he trembles at her touch, things like how she greets him in the morning with her sweet lips and things like, how he remained wordless when she walks away from him− only awaken his body more.
Those things happened. It was real and in a second, it vanished.
Maybe it was the darkness that swallows the space or the loads of alcohol he knock back that makes him reflective.
It's been a week since she bid goodbye but it feels like years.
A few months, a few months that's how little it took Caroline to penetrate his life.
She had open the tangles of thoughts in his head. She successfully unfastens his past, and had gladly swum through the universe of complexities in his brain.
Contrary to what she believes, Caroline had managed to tear apart the walls he built.
He felt a painful stab at his chest. The suddenness jolted him; it hit him like a force field.
She was gone, He pondered.
Caroline moved out and all he wanted was to scamper.
He'll be lying if the thought hasn't cross his mind but something held him back.
So he remains at his room, waiting for her, waiting for a miracle.
"We're here"
A slight shake at her shoulder forced her senses to be awake.
With her eyes wide open, she made out a face in front of the beautiful building.
Klaus
His eyes
His smile
His laugh
His touch
His care
His compassion
His mercy
His grace
One moment, it came rushing in and she was in her own world again but his voice brings her back into reality.
"Damon, Can I ask you a question?" She whispered.
He nods unsure of what she's going to say but eager to know her dilemma.
"Do you think…" she plays with her fingers one by one, finding the words to say, "he loves me?"
"You're an idiot" He whispered, half –upset.
"You know the drill Blondie. Love is not rainbows or unicorns. It's messy. It's horrible to be in love. It makes you so damn susceptible. It opens you and your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. And if I'm the Papa Hybrid who loves to be in control then it would be terrifying. Do you really think his compulsion was for you to feel bad? Nope, he's compulsion means he's trying… trying to control whatever he felt and do you know why he lets you walk away like that? Because it's easier, it's easier for him to control himself with you out of his life"
His words had whack her, it made sense.
Even though she couldn't believed but Damon Salvatore was right, and suddenly, a tear escape from her eye.
"He deserved to be love" She whispered.
"He does," He gave a sad smile, "Everyone deserves to be love and everyone deserves a second chance. Caroline, don't let a petty fight rob that away from him"
And in that minute moment, she had decided, for the first time, to take Damon's advice.
Klaus loves Paris.
There's something liberating about the place. The city lights, the people and the weather.
For him, if he's going to stay in one place. He, without a doubt, would choose Paris.
He had memories here, happy memories.
Klaus and his siblings succeeded to out manoeuvre Mikael before in 20th century thus their first reunion was held here.
Paris is also his leverage when he daggers or annoys his little sister; Rebekah always loved this place and the romantic notion it illustrates.
It's his favorite place surrounded with food, music art and culture. It's a shame that he would leave it now.
In a century possibly, he would be back but right now, When he's in Paris all he could think about is her.
She's never coming back. He thought.
And Klaus was dense to believe he can convince her.
−/−
"Just give me a week"
He responded, "For what Damon?"
"Oh come on! You're miserable and we all know it. Just give me a week to find Caroline and if I find her, you can kiss her. You know when you're lips pucker like this.."
As he mimics kissing, Damon's light blue eyes were smiling making his fair skin wrinkle.
Klaus answered, "One week Damon, one week"
−/−
He poured himself another drink –emptying the remaining Jim on his low ball glass.
He enjoyed the process of feeling the spirit at his throat when the door burst wide open.
"You're welcome"
The raven hair Salvatore grins and in a jiffy, he disappeared.
"Hi" she greeted him, rigidly.
He looked at her in the eyes – said nothing, did nothing.
"Klaus"
She's in front of him, but he feels like she wasn't.
He shuts his eyes. Of course it was a dream, he drank too much. This is one of his silly hallucinations.
"Klaus, I'm here"
And her touch established it.
Feeling her hands in his is enough to make his doubts blur into silence in his head.
He looked at her, casting a longing glance, "Caroline, you're here"
"I am," she said.
"Why?" It's surprising, especially now that words lose in his mouth again.
Caroline stroll herself closer, closer to him, the unoccupied space between them allows her to do it.
"Because I've prepared a speech and I'll be damned if you won't hear it"
He stared at her, considering what to do. He looks at her in the eyes, and she saw for a second how defenseless passed over them.
"Okay. Go on love, I'm listening"
She was steadying herself, Klaus noticed. Maybe like him, she was enthralled by his presence too.
"You're a scaredy cat"
Klaus brows furrowed and made creases in between.
She speak out, "Yes you are. You're scared that's why you push people. You want to be in control because if you're not, you don't know what would happen next. You don't know how to react when life throws you a curveball. You're a scaredy cat."
He quietly looked back at her, wanting her to finish.
"But I don't blame you… Every child needs his parents and you didn't get that. You suffer terribly at the hands of your own mother, Mikael and even at your own father. You wanted a family but they didn't want you"
She can feel her tears started welling up at her sapphire eyes.
Perhaps the reason was she suffered the same fate too, only it was mild. It tugs her heart knowing that the tie that binds them is impossible to explain but simply meant to be.
"So you test the loyalty of anyone who stays in your life and if anyone failed, you never trust them again. Rebekah was right when she said you have no tolerance for those who failed you."
The saddened look on her face became more and more palpable.
"You're a thousand years old vampire with trust issues and a really serious PTSD. You're a mess."
Klaus remained frozen. His face that constantly carried a smile shows no sentiment.
"But…"
Her lips turned into a curve line, and Caroline reached up to cup his cheek.
"You're my beautiful mess"
In the quiet stillness of the night, her words had been the only sound playing on and on.
"Caroline I–"
"Let me finish," she said sternly.
Being the respectful man that he was, he simply nodded.
"I'm a mess too. No one is perfect Klaus, No one and that's why we need to forgive Klaus. We need to give people second chances because people make mistakes…even the people we love."
Caroline can't fathom what it was.
Maybe, it was the reality he was with her or the thought of what she said to Damon. He deserves to be love.
Unexpectedly, she had the courage to tell him what she had been wanting to.
"I love you Klaus" She tried to stifle her laugh, "I love you Niklaus Mikaelson"
It was bewildering; Klaus gaze at her, her voice had roused a snowstorm inside his void shell of being.
Ever since he existed, Klaus felt entrap by the darkness that consume him.
After the shallow life he led, he had prophesied his own end.
He would drown and depart his life being the man who couldn't love.
He would reside like that for eternity for no one would love him.
Accepting the role he has been given, he accepted his fate.
He stopped struggling and waited to be taken by the emptiness.
There was no miracle for peace declined to come. Hence, he made pain and sorrow his only company.
Then he met Dianne, a stunning lady but his bliss was severed soon after her demise.
Fast forward to the 21st century, Klaus had lived with sadness and pain, long enough that he had become one with them. So instead of passing away, indifference had sprung within him. His heart had frozen from the cold and frankly, his spirit to get out from darkness had disappeared.
I love you Niklaus Mikaelson
Her proclamation made his slowly fading coals of hope surge with blaze.
He thought it was unattainable but he feels her saving him, pulling him.
I love you
All of a sudden, he was out of the water, out of the darkness.
It's baffling for him. One moment, he's dying but those three words breathed the life back into him.
As he stare at her; her fair-haired hair, navy eyes and ivory skin.
At last! It dawned on him. She saved him.
Klaus finally apprehends he can't find an alternative for the one who made him feel alive again.
"I love you too Caroline Forbes"
Love makes you want to be a better man.
But maybe, love, real love, also gives you permission to be just the man you are.

Am I forgiven? :)
