"Hey, what's that?" said Kaya pointing at the sky, Usopp looked up to where Kaya was pointing and see Lara and the others…flying down really fast.
"YAHOO~" Usopp screamed in surprise as they all landed in not so graceful manner, as the smoke clears Lara and Nami landed on the bushes, the Usopp Pirates landed on a grassy field, and Zoro, who is unfortunate, landed on the stone path groaning in pain that his bones are now broken into million pieces.
"HAHA, now that what I call an entry" said Lara laughing, transformed back to her original self.
"NO, IT WASN'T!" Nami yelled.
"Are you all right?" Kaya asked worriedly.
"It's okay Kaya; they heard how great I was, so they came to join the Usopp Pirate Crew" Usopp lied as Lara got up from the ground.
"That's not it; we have a favor to ask" she asked politely.
"Favor? From me?" Kaya blinked.
"Yes, we were looking for a large ship and…"
"You there" Lara was cut off as she and the other turn their head to see a man in a butler suit tottering toward them.
"Klahadore" Kaya whispered in discomfort, now that her butler is here who knows what he'll do or say.
"You're trespassing" he adjusts his glasses.
"And causing trouble here" he added, Usopp flinched that the mean butler is here and now he is going to be in trouble for sure. Lara cocked her head to the side and mumbled.
"Who is this guy?"
Klahadore is very livid to see not only Usopp has trespassed and telling all those stories to Lady Kaya, but there are six people has invaded in the mansion and asking Lady Kaya a favor, this has gone far enough. Kaya sensed Klahadore's anger, she quickly said.
"Excuse them Klahadore, these people are…"
"You don't need to defend them, my Lady" he said sternly silencing her from speaking, and adjusts his glasses.
"I will listen to your explanation later, for now, I'd like all of you to leave this area at once or do you people have something to say" his words are harsh as blade, but Lara replied without noticing his strictness.
"Yeah, we'd like a ship see…"
"Absolutely not" he denied her favor harshly and Lara frowned, Zoro put a comforting hand on her shoulder as a way to calm her down, as Klahadore adjust his glasses again, he stared up at the tree next to Kaya's window and started to say.
"Usopp" he called out to Usopp who is currently hiding behind the tree upside down.
"Crap" he cursed.
"I hear rumors about you all the time; you're pretty famous in this Village, aren't you" Klahadore asked doubtfully.
"You could say that" said Usopp as he climbed back up and chuckled.
"So, you have faced all kinds of danger before. That's really something at such a young age" he spoke in mock manner that poor Usopp didn't notice except Kaya, she has this look like something very bad is going to happen soon, and she won't like it one bit. Usopp put on heroic pose and pointed at himself and said.
"You may address me as Captain Usopp that will help spread my name throughout the world"
"Captain, eh" Klahadore snickered as pushed his glasses up.
"Then it's true that your Father was a filthy Pirate"
"What?" he cringed and Kaya gasped.
"Klahadore, stop this at once" Kaya ordered but Klahadore ignored her.
"You are Son of lowly, filthy Pirate" Usopp is shaking in fury while Lara looked at him darkly.
"Although anything you do won't be much of a surprise, but would you please stop bothering our Lady Kaya" said Klahadore, Kaya was upset at Klahadore for saying such an awful thing about Usopp's Father and the others are scowling at the butler.
"Who do you think you are? You have no right to call my Father like that" Usopp growled, but Klahadore ignored him and continued.
"You come from a totally different world from our Lady. Do you seek her fortune? How many times did you try to deceive her?"
"THAT'S ENOUGH KLAHADORE, APOLOGIZE TO USOPP AT ONCE" she yelled angrily. How dare Klahadore accuse Usopp of a scoundrel, Usopp was surprised by her outburst and worried because she is nearly hanging out on the window.
"Hey Kaya, be careful"
"Why should I apologize to such a barbaric man, Lady Kaya, I'm just stating a fact but I do feel sorry for you, your heart must've filled with hatred. Hated by your foolish Father who abandoned you and your Mother to take a life of a Pirate" Klahadore keeps on rambling and insulting Usopp's father.
"Klahadore" she whispered.
"You bastard, you'd better stop insulting my Father" then Usopp jumped down from the branch startling Kaya but relieved when she see a steel hook secured on the branch and Usopp easily slip down and landed safely on the ground, the hook unsecured and went back to Usopp's satchel.
"Why are you so agitated?" Klahadore pushed up his glasses.
"It's time like these that you should just do what you do best; lie. Why don't you lie that your Father was just marketing salesman or you have nothing to do with your Father or better yet that he's not you're real father…" just then Usopp snapped and punched Klahadore hard enough to knock him to the ground.
"Usopp" Kaya gasped in shock.
"Captain" the Usopp Pirate Crew also shocked, they've rarely see their Captain this angry but to go so far, as for Zoro, Nami, and Lara their expression are unreadable.
"See that! He immediately turned violently. No wonder they say 'like Father, like Son'" he babbled.
"SHUT UP" Usopp shouts, and Klahadore flinched.
"I'm proud that my Father is a Pirate, being a brave warrior of the sea, I'm very proud of him, although it's true I lie a lot, but I'm not ashamed of my heritage and that something I should be honored about because his blood is running through my vein. For I'm Son of a Pirate" he declared loudly to everyone who is near. To say Lara smile fondly at Usopp, he truly is Yasopp's Son, brave and respectful. A true Pirate indeed, just then Klahadore snorted.
"Pirates are brave warriors of the sea, huh? You're pretty naïve to have that belief" he got up and dusted his suit.
"What!"
"But you're right for one thing; you admitted that the Pirate blood flows within you. You like to lie and would resort for violence whenever something upsets you, you're ultimate goal was to get Lady Kaya's fortune and that's you get close to her"
"What are you talking about? I would never…"
"A Pirate is Pirate no matter what you say, and because you Father's a Pirate is proof enough" Klahadore shouts angrily.
"That's enough; I won't let you insult my Father ever again" he grabbed his suit and ready to punch him again when Kaya stopped him.
"Stop it Usopp, please don't use violence again, Klahadore is not a bad person, he's only…he's only protecting me, so please" Kaya begged Usopp to stop, and as much as Usopp wanted to smack him to the ground, he can't hurt Kaya's feeling by hurting her butler, so he lets him go…for Kaya's sake.
"Get out now, and don't come close to Lady Kaya again" he said coldly.
"Yeah, you don't have to tell me twice" he walks passed Klahadore without glancing at him till he's out of sight. The Usopp Pirates are completely furious that they spat at Klahadore.
"You bastard, stupid butler, our Captain is not kind of a person" cried Carrot.
"That's right, you idiot" growled Pepper.
"Yeah, you idiot" Onion added. Klahadore glared menacingly at the children made then scream and cower behind Nami. And Lara glared at Klahadore with intense.
"I'm gonna make you eat your words for what you did" she mumbled but loud enough for Klahadore to hear.
"Leave here at once" he ordered, Lara gave one final glare and left and the others followed.
Inside Kaya's room, she is back sitting on her bed holding her pillow, crying for what Klahadore did to Usopp, he didn't deserve this kind of treatment; he is a good person. Why can Klahadore see the way she sees in him? Then she heard knock from the door but didn't say "enter" she already knows whose outside; the person entered, and Klahadore entered while pushing a rolling cart that filled with food and tea for her.
"Time for your meal, Lady Kaya" said Klahadore softly.
"I don't want it; I don't feel like eating" she mumbled refusing to look at him, Klahadore sigh.
"You will break the Chef's heart by saying that. In consideration of your weak health, the Chef worked long and hard on this" he said trying to make her eat for she can recover, he picked a tall pot that filled with warm milk and pour it into tea pot as he does so, Kaya spoke.
"Why did you say such harsh things to Usopp" Klahadore stopped what he was doing and stare at the little and fragile girl.
"I know it's my fault for seeing Usopp without your acknowledgment, but you didn't have to say such awful thing about him and his Father" said Kaya, Klahadore gaze at the little girl sadly, he knows he's been harsh but why can't she see this for her own good, he put down the pot and said.
"May I sit down?" he calmly asked.
"Go ahead" she replied, Klahadore sits on the side of the bed as he stared at Lady Kaya and spoke.
"It has…been three years since I came to this house" Kaya stared up at the sad man with his shoulders shaking and she gasp when she saw the man's eyes swelling with tears.
"What happened on that day…I still haven't forgotten" she understood on what he's saying.
Three years ago, she was watering the flowers when Klahadore was walking wobbly to the mansion's gate till he collapsed. She remembered clearly like it was yesterday.
"At that time, I made a careless mistake and I was kicked out of the ship where I worked. Without a job or any money, I was on the verge of death" he spoke as he reminisce the day he was saved by Kaya's late Father, when he saw he was dying, Kaya and her parents brought him inside their mansion, treated and nursed him back to health, and when he finally healed Kaya's Father took him in as part of the family and worked as a butler.
"You're late Father saved my life and…you, are his most precious Daughter. To speak to you as an equal like this, I'm aware that I may have gone overboard, however, I cannot find the heart to trust this boy because…if…if anything was to happen to you. How can I face your Father, who took me in?" he covered his face with one hand and his lower lip trembled as if he's ready to burst in tears.
"Forgive me, if I upset you in anyway"
"No, I'm not upset, I know what're you trying to do and I'm very grateful to have you, Klahadore, but you're wrong about one thing, Usopp is a good person" said Kaya, and then Klahadore got up and adjust his glasses.
"However, whether or not he's a good person is a different matter" he said it again.
"Klahadore, you are so narrow-minded"
"I'm fine with being narrow-minded" he said as he turned his head to Kaya and smiled, and Kaya smiled in return.
In the middle of the field, Zoro, Nami, Pepper, and Carrot are sitting on the field without a care in the world as if they haven't been rudely kicked out by that jerk, Onion is not with them saying he saw something strange in the wood and went to check it out, and Lara is off running somewhere.
"Hey, where did Lara go?" Nami asked, sitting on a wooden hedge.
"Beats me, she maybe went after Usopp" Zoro answered, he is sitting on the grassy field, his back on the hedge and his arm crossed on the back of his head.
"The Captain should be 'there'" Pepper exclaimed.
"Yeah, at the coast, whenever he's in trouble, he always goes there" Carrot added.
"Do you want to go and check on them?" Pepper questioned.
"Nah, I'll pass" said Zoro, in depth of his mind, he trusts his Captain for she knows how to deal with Usopp like she did at the time when she confronted Helemppo and made him give in before he kills Coby. Then Nami enquired again.
"Speaking of which, where did your friend go?"
"Oh, you mean Onion; he always disappears off somewhere" said Pepper.
"Then he'll come out of nowhere, screaming" Carrot added, and right on cue Onion just came out of nowhere, running with the look of sheer horror and screaming.
"IT'S HORRIBLE"
"See" said Carrot, Onion stopped to catch his breath and said.
"A man walking moonwalk, a very weird man is doing moonwalk"
"Lair" both Pepper and Carrot yelled.
"It's true, look" Onion pointed down the path, and true what he said a man is walking moonwalk; the weird man stopped and faced the three kids.
"Hey, who was it? Who's the brat that called me weird, I'm not weird" the man exclaimed doing the weird move.
"You could've fooled me" said Nami.
"That's ridicules; I'm just a Hypnotist passing by"
"A Hypnotist, wow" Onion awed.
"Can you show us" Pepper asked excitedly.
"Yeah, show us" said Carrot, then the man has released menacing aura.
"What! You must be joking, why I should show my Hypnotic skill to bunch of strangers I hardly met…alright, I'll show you" he said as he magically pulled out a metal ring.
"He still does it" Zoro sweat dropped.
"After I say 'one, two, Jango' you will fall asleep" he exclaimed as the ring swing left and right.
"Got it? Here I go one…two…JANGO" and then just like that all the kids fell asleep even the Hypnotist.
"WHAT KIND A HYPNOTIST ARE YOU TO FALL TO YOUR OWN TRANCE" Zoro's vein popped out.
Usopp is sitting on the edge of the cliff, crossed leg, watching the wave dances by the gentle wind, it calms him completely but longing to sail on the open sea, traveling from island to island to have an adventure and excitement and thrill of adrenaline to face your enemies like the brave warrior of the sea…like his Father, but what stopped him from leaving was Kaya.
Ever since from day one, he has been in love with Kaya when he was a kid, he believed Kaya was the most beautiful girl he ever seen and wished that he has the gut to tell her that. Then when he heard about her parent's death and sudden illness, he decided to make matter to his own hands. He muster all the courage and goes to her mansion and told all her about his adventures in the sea and thus it began his daily routine to both him and Kaya and always looking forward to seeing her bright smile again. Usopp was so preoccupied with his thought that he didn't notice Lara is in front of him, with her feet hanging on the branch.
"So this is where you were?" said Lara, Usopp flailed.
"Sheesh, it's only you, can you greet people in a normal way…What is it? What do you want?" he frowned.
"Nothing really" she lets go of the branch and start hand walking, after couple of steps, she fell with a thud but not minding the pain, Usopp blinked at the strange girl till he turns back to being somber, they sat in silence except the sound of the waves and foot clapping from Lara.
"That damn butler. How dare he insult my Father like that" he mumbled.
"Yeah, that guy is a jerk, and I don't like him either, it doesn't matter what anyone says; Yasopp is still and always a great Pirate" she said, and Usopp's enthusiasm is building up.
"Yeah, he sure is, in the Great Pirate Era, my Father sails the ocean without knowing what's ahead, I feel really proud of him…say, what about you? Is your Father a Pirate too?"
"Hmmm nope, I don't have a Father, in fact, I don't even know if I have one" she simply said without a hint of sadness.
"Oh, I'm sorry"
"It's okay, I may don't know much about my Dad but…Shanks are been like a Father to me; he keeps telling me stories about his grand adventures, meeting new and strange people, the parties they celebrate every day, and…inspire me to become a great Pirate and to be the first ever Pirate Queen like Gol D. Roger, he never stopped believing in me" she said with a smile.
"Wow, he must've really love you this much to make you sail through the ocean, huh" he said with a fond look on his face.
"Shihehehe yep and one day will meet again and show him how strong I've become" she said, Usopp smiled and then sigh.
"I wish I can sail to the open waters one day as a Pirate, but first I want Klahadore to come here and beg me for forgiveness for insulting my Dad" he said self-assuredly.
"You mean him down there with the weirdo" said Lara pointing at Klahadore walking with heart shaped glasses guy.
"Yeah, that him…WAIT A MINUTE, what's he doing here?" he said as he crouched down on the ground and pulling Lara down too, as the two stay silent they hear both men striking a conversation.
"Jango, didn't I tell you not to attract any attention in this Village, yet you were sleeping in the middle of the road" said Klahadore strictly.
"That's ridiculous; I didn't attract any attention at all, and I'm not weird either" said man whose name is Jango, Klahadore frown and adjusted his glasses in frustration.
"So, are the preparations for the operation complete?"
"Of course, we can start at any time…the operation to assassinate Lady Kaya" said Jango, up on the cliff both Lara and Usopp cringed in shock, Usopp couldn't believe what he's hearing, but this man, Jango along with Klahadore are planning to kill Kaya, just the thought of it, his heart just stop beating instantly…they can't do that.
"Don't say assassinate, that sound wicked, Jango"
"Ah yes, an accident…it was an accident" said Jango remembering the plan.
"We can't just kill her; Lady Kaya has to die from an accident, don't ever forget" he bellows at the last comment and sighing at his incompetent.
"Sorry, we just have to wait for the signal to attack the Village and then kill the little girl, right? Then, you will take her inheritance"
"Are you an idiot? Can't you use your brain for once; an outsider like me can't take her inheritance; I guess I have to retell you the plan again. Before we kill her, you'll have to hypnotize Kaya to write a will. In that will, you'll make her write that all her fortune will go to her trusted and faithful butler, Klahadore" he said with an evil smirk and frightening look in his eyes that something Usopp never seen him like this, Usopp could not believe that…that bastard that Kaya trusted with her life is betraying her to get her fortune. How could he do this to a girl whom she and her late parents saved his life from the brink of death? Is he that heartless so he can have her fortune?
"It will be the first step of my plan to take over the huge inheritance, it's…perfect" he said as he pushed his glasses.
"I spent three whole years to win everyone's trust. So no one would be suspicious, even if she leaves all her inheritance to me"
"You became her butler for three years just for this; it really surprised me back then, Captain Kuro" said Jango as he did his weird move.
"Three years ago…you suddenly said that you quit being a Pirate. You got one of your Crew to act as you in order to have the world to think that Captain Kuro was executed. That marked the beginning of your devious plan, no wonder they call you Captain Kuro of a Thousand Plans" said Jango impressed by his Captain's scheme.
"Don't call me by that name again" he scoffed at his name.
"I gave up my name three years ago; I just want her fortune and not get chased by the Government anymore then I will become a peaceful citizen" he smirked at his plan and Jango laugh.
"I can hardly imagine as you a peaceful citizen, so for the sake of your own peace, you even go so far to kill the brat's parents"
"Now now Jango, her parent's death has nothing to do with me, it was unexpected" said Klahadore or Kuro truthfully.
"Oh well, it didn't matter now, just hurry up and give the signal, our ship is anchored nearby for almost a week already, my men are getting impatient" said Jango, he's also can't wait to slice the girl into tiny little pieces after she writes the will and all the fortune will be there's for the taking.
Up on the cliff, Usopp's heart can't stop beating as if it's ready to burst from his chest to think after all this time Klahadore the butler was actually none other than Captain Kuro of Black Cat Pirates.
'This is bad, we just overheard their plan, I-I have to get to Kaya and warn her'
"Lara, we have to get out of here, these guys are the real deal; that Captain Kuro is said to be the smartest and also the cruelest among all the Pirates, I heard he was dead three years ago but now he is alive and here, and he is been personating as a butler to get to Kaya's fortune all this time, if we let this happen, the Village will be attacked, and Kaya will be in danger" he imagined the Villagers screaming in bloody horror, and Kaya's terrifying face before a Pirate slice her before she can scream.
"This is really terrible" he grabbed his head as he tries to make that scary image go away, Lara watched at Usopp than at those men then Lara stood up.
"Hey, what are you doing? Get down before they…"
"Hey, you bastards. Don't you dare hurt Kaya" she shouts while Usopp he fell anime style behind her, the men looked to see two teen.
"Who the hell are you?" Jango spoke in a mad tone.
"Are you insane, are you trying to kill us, we gotta get out of here" Usopp panicked.
"Well well, if it isn't Usopp" Kuro spoke in harsh and cold tone, Usopp screamed.
"I've been spotted too"
"You won't happen to hear our conversation, would you?" his tone is as deadly as a poisonous snake.
"Nononono, we haven't heard a single word of it, we were just passing through, and that's all" he comes up with a lie but unfortunate Lara didn't keep her mouth shut.
"I heard everything" she said as Usopp smacks her shoulder.
"Shut up" Kuro sigh, now that his plan and secret have been revealed to these two, he has no choice but to do one thing, he signaled Jango to take care of it now.
"I guess it can't be helped, hey, you two" he called as he brought out his hypnotic ring.
"Look carefully at the ring"
"A ring?" Lara is as curious as cat stare at the ring.
"I don't like this, its weapon" Usopp exclaimed, and then Jango's ring begin to swing left and right as he says.
"With 'one, two, Jango' and you'll fall asleep, got it? One…two…JANGO" once he said it, Usopp leaped away just time to get away from the man but Lara was unlucky because she fell asleep while standing up…and even Jango fell asleep again using Kuro's back as mattress.
"You idiot, you fell your own hypnoses again" said the frustrated Kuro, Lara's sleepiness is causing her to lean toward the edge of the cliff.
"Hey, what are you doing? You're going to fall" but it's too late because Lara fell down the cliff with a loud crash.
"She fell down, with that height no one could survive that fall" Jango shook his head as he observes the girl's frail form; Usopp clenched his fist on the grass as he stares up at Lara.
"Shit, that guy…killed her"
"So, what do you want me to do with the other one?" Jango asked.
"Nothing, no matter what he says, his words won't reach out to them, after all, he is nothing but the Village's lair, we will start the plan tomorrow morning, we will attack the Villagers at dawn, make it look like an accident when you kill Kaya" he smirk menacingly at Usopp.
"Do you hear that, Usopp" Usopp runs off toward the Village.
"Are you sure about this?" said Jango.
"Of course, my plan will not fail" he said as he gazes at dead girl with a satisfying glee.
'This is bad…this is bad, the entire Villager I knew and loved will be slaughtered, and Kaya will be killed too, I can't let that happen' he ran and ran to try to get to the Village as fast as his feet could carry him, then the image of Kaya's beautiful smile appeared in his mind and then memories that he and Kaya both shared, the stories he told her, the laughter they shared, the smile on her face brighten his heart with love. As each memory pass through his mind, tears run down on his cheek like waterfall as he screams.
"KKAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAA"
