Chapter 10:

"I thought I told you I don't need you guys to be following me around all the time. I'll be fine by myself. Geez you guys sound like first time parents with a 13 year old." I sighed in the back seat of the car; the two of them have been arguing and worrying about me for almost the whole trip to the city. I merely asked them if I could do a little shopping as an excuse to get out of the house. But instead they started to worry and insisted that they tag along.

"But what if something happens or someone tries to take you?" Matthew said taking his eyes off the road to look at me in the rear view mirror.

"Pfft. Like that will happen, I know how to take care of myself, and besides I play lacrosse with my brother, so my speed and stamina is good. If someone tries to grab me I can check him and run, and if something does happen I have my phone." I said as I continued to look out the read passenger window with my chin resting on my hand.

"Dude, just let us follow you so Matthew can stop worrying." Alfred said

"...fine. I just need to get a few things anyways." I said as I closed my eyes and put in one ear bud as I listened to Monster by Big Bang.

When we got closer to the city my curiosity peeked and I was flipping back and forth between the backseat windows to try and see what we were passing by.

A few days ago I had asked them if they could take me into the city to try and do some shopping, they of course insisted on coming. But oh well, they probably don't want to be stuck in the house either, as beautiful as it is it can be a bit isolated and lonely.

Once we found a mall Matthew and Alfred started to argue where we should park, Matthew wanted to park over to the side closest to the bookstore, Alfred wanted to park near the centre.

"Guys, can we just pick a spot? Oh! How about that spot over there, it's to the side but still in the centre?" I asked as I removed my seat belt to point to the spot I saw, Matthew then scolded me that I was to keep my seat belt on while we were still driving.

After he parked his Jeep we all piled out of the car and walked towards the mall doors.

"Hey guys do you know if this mall has a music store? I was hoping I would be able to get some more CD's." I asked as we walked towards the large map showing the layout of the mall and all its shops.

"Dude I'm pretty almost all malls have a music store." Alfred laughed

"Well you never know." I said as I started to read the categories and the shops under the categories.

"Ok I found one, we have to go to the left and pass 5 stores." I said as I started to lead them towards the music store I was going to check out.

"So what kind music do you listen to?" Matthew asked who was a few steps behind me,

"Almost a bit of each, I'm also working on getting songs from bands from almost all the countries of the world, but American pop is one of the genres I listen to only if I find songs that happen to have a meaning to me." I said, "Artists like Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and One Direction are people I do not listen to unless there are songs that are covered by others. Like when Issues did a cover for Justin Beiber's Boyfriend for a Punk Goes Pop album."

I stopped in front of the store that I was looking for and motioned for the two to go first, upon entering I then split from them and headed to the headphones that were connected to a touch screen computer that gave people an idea of what some of the songs sound like.

"Hey Matthew come here, I'll show you a band that I listen to." I said as started to flip through the computers artist list for a foreign band.

I smiled once I found Big Bang and placed the headphones on his head and selected the song Tonight.

I told him to listen to the whole song and I was going to try and find some CD's of people I listened to and show Alfred the covers.

"Ok so this is the CD cover of Black Veil Brides first album We Stitch These Wounds, now if you dare call this genre 'emo' I will slap you right here right now, and I don't care if people see." I said as I handed him one of the CD's from the shelves alphabetically organized.

Alfred just stared at the cover for a second, before he could say anything I pulled him along to another spot in the store.

"So...here is Adam Lambert, you should obviously know him." I said as I showed him the Trespassing album.

Alfred grabbed the album and flipped it to the back as he read the track list, by the time he had finished Matthew had joined us again.

"Hey Matthew what did you think? Did you like it?" I smiled, anxious for his answer.

"It was interesting, it sounded pretty good." Matthew smiled back.

"Okay well I'm going to go and see if I can get them to order some CD's for me. And maybe buy something here." I said as I turned and walked over to one of the cashiers.

On my way to the cashier I stopped to look at the small section of Anime and Animated movies, picking up the movie My Neighbour Totoro. Pleased with my choice I continued my way to the female cashier.

"Hello, did you find everything okay?" The woman asked smiling.

"Yes I did, oh I was also wondering if I could make an order for a CD that is not held in this store and come pick it up later? I just moved here recently and where I lived I was able to do that at the store, of course I paid for it in store before it came in." I said as I handed her my status card and the money to pay for the movie.

"Hmm...I don't know I'll have to check with the manager, maybe if you come back tomorrow I can give you an answer." The woman said as she took my card and money.

It took her a minute to get the status number and figure out how to do the tax deduction with the status, once she had written my card number on the receipt copy I signed and then grabbed my purchase.

"Thank you, and I'll stop by tomorrow." I said as I grabbed my status card and walked over to Alfred and Matthew who were waiting for me at the entrance.

"Think we should get something to eat before we go?" I asked as I walked in between the two adults.

At that moment Alfred's face light up, "How about Ice cream?"

"Alfred, I don't think it's a good idea to eat ice cream before we even eat lunch, how about we eat ice cream after we have lunch." Matthew suggested which only brought Alfred's mood down.

"Aw come on Mattie, how come we can't have a something a little sweet before we drive back home?" Alfred asked nudging Matthew's shoulder who was walking in the direction towards the food court.

"Please Matthew; can we have some Ice cream? I haven't had some in a long time." I asked.

When Matthew said yes I hugged him while Alfred fist pumped the air happily saying 'yes!'

Following Alfred to the Ice cream store Matthew and I talked about flavors we would like to try.

"Alfred what flavor do you want to try? I was thinking about the Maple Walnut." I said to Alfred who was looking at the flavours next to me.

"Not sure. Maybe the New York Cheese Cake?" He said as he tried to figure out what to try.

"Matthew what about you?"

"Maybe the Maple Walnut or the Red Velvet Cupcake one of my friends told me about. From what I've heard the Red Velvet is pretty good." Matthew said.

"Have you all decided what you would like to order?" The woman at the register asked.

"Um I would like a Maple Walnut please." I said walking towards her.

"And what size would you like?"

"Small please, and can it be in a bowl please?" I politely asked.

"Yes it can, and have you both decided on what you would order?" She asked turning to face Alfred and Matthew.

I smacked Alfred in the arm and pointed to the woman with my eyes, "Weewiib."

"Oh, New York Cherry Cheese Cake." Alfred said, "Oh can I get a large?"

"Alfred that's too much sugar before supper. He'll get a medium, and can I get the Red Velvet Cupcake? Small please." Matthew said and gave Alfred a look that stopped him from pouting.

"Is that everything?" She asked as she grabbed a small bowl and the cones.

"Yes." Matthew replied grabbing his wallet from his pocket.

"Your total is $14.50. Debit?" She asked starting to set up the small machine.

Handing the machine to Matthew she then started to make out orders and a little treat she gave us was some cherries and small sprinkles for free.

"Miigwetch!" I smiled grabbing the bowl.

Once Alfred and Matthew received their Ice cream cones they also thanked her.

Leaving the mall we ate our Ice cream as we walked to Matthew's car.

"Miigwetch Matthew for taking me out today. It felt nice to leave the house." I said as I hugged him with one arm trying to not spill both our frozen treats.
