I do not own CSI.
Lidia was so happy with her room that she stayed in it for two hours after she got back from Catherine's. Greg and I spent the morning talking about anything that came to mind. The third time that week Greg spent the night that morning at breakfast I asked.
"Why don't I just let you pay rent and move into my guest room."
Greg just laughed and replied.
"Because your to nice to make me pay rent."
Then Greg changed the subject.
"So when are you going to enroll Lidia in school?"
I hadn't put a lot of thought in this I had to admit.
"I don't know if they have any deaf schools around here."
I said not having a clue if there was. Greg just smiled and said.
"actually there is, Charlotte's school for the deaf. It's about ten minutes from the lab."
I was so happy and Greg called for me and set up an interview with the principal the next day. Lidia loves school so she was super excited and spent all morning looking for the perfect outfit.
I'll skip what all happened in the interview, but I will say it went well since Lidia would be starting school that Monday. She was super excited it took us about two hours for her to pick out school cloths and school supplies. That morning went smoothly, Lidia was especially happy since Greg had once again spent the night.
We both drove her to school then we ran into a small problem. After we dropped her off we realized we realized we had ridden in my orange Ford Ranger. We were covering for day shift so we had to drive to work quickly jumped out of the truck hoping know one saw us together. Just our luck Hodges caught us. He promised not to say anything I didn't know if I believed him. When I walked by the break room Catherine quickly pulled me to the side.
"Where's Lidia?"
I told Catherine about Lidia starting school.
"That's on the way to Lindsey's school I can ask my mother to pick her up and she can hang out with Linds until we get off."
I thanked Catherine and called the school to let them know that Catherine's mom could pick Lidia up from school. After work Greg, Cath, and I found Lidia teaching Lindsey sign.
Greg, Lindsey, and Lidia quickly went to signing. Lindsey did good with a little help from Greg since she was just learning. Catherine's mom, Catherine, and I started talking about the girls. We stayed for dinner at Catherine's then Greg and I took Lidia home. I put Lidia down then Greg and I went in the living room.
"I wasn't joking about my guest room, well the rent was a joke. I know we have only known each other a few months. But since we've met you have stayed at your apartment maybe ten times."
Greg just sat there and finally said.
"Okay but let's not tell Lidia until this weekend since she still needs to go to school and bed. We both know how excited she gets."
That sent us into a fit of laughter imagining the little girls excitement.
