I only own Aika/Celise!

"How have you been, Trunks?"

The younger of the two made his way to one of the lounge chairs in the older's office, making himself comfortable. The new father, sporting wrinkles and slight sleep deprivation masked it well with two red bulls and a refreshing shower. Trunks smiled to him, moving the picture out of the way, giving him his undivided attention.

"Well, I've been better. It seems like your brother is shacking up with my ex wife."

This news didn't come as a surprise to Goten. He's been at a few family dinners where Aika has joined in the cooking. Valese wasn't much of a kitchen person, but she did well with tidying up and setting the table. Chichi didn't mind, but would like it if she cooked for her baby boy. Gohan seemed in better spirits, and when she first showed up, he took it as them just hanging out after training. Once he saw that his older left lingering touches on her shoulders and back, he put two and two together.

Quite frankly, he didn't mind it.

"Yeah, I heard. They seem happy together. Hopefully this isn't a rebound relationship. We don't need anything else to tear this group further apart. I haven't hung out with the two of you in years!"

The lavender haired demi grimaced at his response. 'No one seems to be on my side with this…' Straightening up in his chair, Trunks idly typed in his password for his computer, trying to hide his disgust.

"I guess. It'd be nice to get the three of us together again, honestly. We're all adults now, so we should definitely go out for a drink or party at least. Maybe even a vacation once things fully calm down."

Goten's expression lit up brighter than a Christmas tree. For the past 10 months, his life has been nothing but babies and weddings. Valese has been a gem, but once she found out she was pregnant, she nearly ruined her best friend's wedding by sharing it in her Maid of Honor speech. Ever the modest person, Goten tried to rein her in, seeing the disgust in the guests faces, but her best friend played it off to cool the tensions. Now that his son was here, sleep has been nonexistent, and he truly missed being around adults.

"That would be wonderful! Maybe even a lunch date! The three of us could kill some noodles and sushi! What's that one spot downtown by the frozen yogurt place? Tengu? We could all meet there soon and just shoot the breeze!"

Trunks smiled. He missed Goten, truly. His ability to see the bright side in things was something that he truly loved and missed. He felt the same, honestly. Rebccah has been a nightmare. Ever since she found out that he and Aika made up, she's been hyper tracking his every move. Calling Bellini, showing up at his mother's house, trying to put a gps tracker on his phone and even going as far as to smell him when he comes home. A night out with his friend would be nice. But getting Aika to join…

Aika…

Would she even be down to be around the two of them again? She seemed receptive to be around him again, but that wasn't his concern.

What really concerned him was the 6'2 man who now resided in her apartment.

He grimaced once more.

While he was lost in thought, Goten babbled on, only stopping short when he realized that Trunks stopped listening a few sentences ago.

"Hey, Trunks! What's up? Are you okay?"

Snapping out of his daze, the demi Prince blinked, turning his attention back to his friend, smiling at him.

"Yeah, try to set it up. Message her, she should be free now."

"Okay, great! I'll do that!" Resuming his dopey smile, Goten began messaging Aika, setting up plans for a possible lunch date. Seeing that he was busy, Trunks began checking his emails, scrolling through the endless messages for business meetings and joint venture opportunities from start up companies. Work was nice, a good distraction from the mess that his life had become.

Even if half of the staff hated him, in his office, he was loved by his paperwork. Goten, sliding his phone away, looked at his friend, studying his facial expressions. He could tell whenever he was troubled because he threw himself into his work. He's always been like that. If it wasn't training, it was homework.

"Trunks, talk to me. How are you really feeling?"

There it was. His best friend, his confidante. They've been through almost everything together. He knew he couldn't hide anything from him. Turning off his monitor, Trunks stood from his desk and walked over to the mini fridge. Sliding it open, he grabbed two sodas, tossing Goten the orange and keeping the lemon lime to himself. Cracking the fizzy drink open, he took a seat next to him, unbuttoning his suit jacket and relaxing his shoulders.

"I'm not feeling too hot. I don't feel good being with Rebeccah. I want to get Aika back, but she won't hear me. I know she won't. She's too hooked on your brother. There's no possible way I can go back to the life I truly want when the woman I want to spend it with is no longer with me. I can't break up with Rebeccah because… she's pregnant."

Goten was shocked, but stayed silent, letting his friend speak.

"She told me a few nights ago. I thought she was on birth control, but you know how that goes. It's been rough ever since. I've stayed in hotels just to get some peace, but it's impossible. I have to drink just to sleep, and even that isn't helping. She hasn't stopped calling me ever since I left, but what can I say to her? I don't exactly think a child being brought into the world is bad, but this world? It's not ideal.

Besides, I'm not even sure if the kid is mine. She's been seeing someone on the side for a few weeks. We haven't had steady sex in about the same time as well. After I moved in with her, she's been absent at home. Now that there's a kid, she's been hounding me to get married and buy a house so she can have the 'ideal life for our kid', or whatever she thinks that is.

I don't know, Goten. I don't know what to do. I can't run from responsibilities, but I don't even know if I can be the man and father, if the kid is mine, that she wants me to be. I honestly want this to be over."

He placed his face in his hands, the weight and reality of the situation fully impacting him. Goten placed a hand on Trunks' shoulder, trying to comfort him the best way he could. A baby? Trunks was elated when Keenu was coming, but this new child doesn't seem to feel right. Whatever his best friend decided though, he would be there for him, no matter what.

"Damn, Trunks. That's a lot. Whatever you decide to do, I will be a call away to listen and help out as best as I can."

The purple haired prince chuckled, pulling himself up in his chair. Goten truly was a great friend. He honestly didn't deserve him.

"Thanks Goten. Man, all of this talk of adult stuff has me hankering for wings. Let's go to Hooters."

"Hell yeah! Let's do it!"

The gentle clicks of a keyboard echoed in the cozy office. Aika, desk scattered in paperwork and hair slung messily in a bun, tried her hardest to catch up on work she let get the best of her. Projects, proposals, requests off from work, and even a few get well soon letters were everywhere. There was no way to sort everything out, but she didn't mind. When she came back to work, she was greeted with flowers and hugs from everyone. Her coworkers truly missed her being there to awkwardly sing to them and throw random lunch buffets.

After all of their sweet gifts and accolades later, she decided to chain herself to her chair. Unfortunately, the greetings she got from her littered desk was not to exciting to see. Sometimes, she wished she just burned it all and started fresh. But that wasn't the case.

So there she sat, playing catch up and desperately losing. She nearly missed the buzz of her phone over her speedy fingers, but caught the flash of her screen. Half expecting another email, Aika scowled at the screen, but quickly changed when a familiar name flashed on the screen. Clicking the message open, she read the words, but didn't fully process what it said. A few repeat reads later, she chuckled.

"Lunch date? With those two goofballs? Why the hell not?"

She replied, then put the phone down. Lunch did sound nice, but with how busy her schedule was, today was the only option. Aika figured she would try to see if they were available now. If not, oh well. The pangs in her stomach replied for her. Either she ate, or her stomach would eat her. She decided on the former. A nice break from paperwork would do her some good.

Grabbing her purse and phone, Aika headed out of her office, letting her secretary know to order everyone lunch and to take a two hour break once it got there for rest. That gave her enough time to scarf down something and to take a nap.

Aika pressed the down button by the elevator, mindlessly texting Gohan to let him know she was off to lunch, but figuring he was equally as busy to meet her for it. She was scrolling through a news article when the double stainless steel doors swung open. Glancing up, brown eyes met crystal blue and jet black ones. Those familiar eyes made her heart flutter with excitement.

"Just the two I was looking for!"

Tengu was normally busy during lunch times, but today seemed to be quite the opposite, which pleased the trio greatly. Sitting in a private booth in the back of the restaurant, Trunks, Goten and Aika began catching up over beers. Goten pulled out his phone to share photos of Sol, his new baby, gushing over all of his features. Aika cooed at the phone, begging for a few photos to be sent her way. Trunks couldn't care less, though he tried to show interest. Soon the food came, and they were off.

Bowls and plates full of delicious delicacies soon piled up. The waiters and waitresses tried their hardest to catch up with them, but they soon called for backup. An hour later, they were done, sitting with their hands on their stomachs, patting them happily. Trunks let out a rather large belch, which made Aika and Goten laugh. Grabbing his stomach, Goten turned to Trunks, arching his back to exaggerate the size more.

"Hey, check it out, I'm Rebeccah!"

Silence.

Aika stopped laughing, the air in her lungs quickly running dry. Trunks could have killed him with his stare. Looking at the two men, she then turned to her ex husband, a delicate brown brow arched high.

"Rebeccah's pregnant?"
