Chapter 10

A long time ago, back in the lab, the scientists had a revelation. They had made super warriors, super humans, but they were still only human. So what would they do if they were hurt? They spent so much time on how to keep them from getting hurt, that they were vulnerable.

So they had an idea. What if we made a fluid that could run through their bodies, so when they get hurt, they fall into a coma and heal? You've probably heard before that you grow and heal when you sleep, and the same holds true for the flock. So they created an organ that, when the brain went into shock, their new organ would pump the fluid.

So after the explosion, Smosh, Kaito, and Switch all stood in shock and stared at Kimu until there wasn't enough time to get away. They started running, but not in time.

The force from the explosion knocked Kaito headfirst into a tree and wrapped Switch around another. Kaito got a concussion and a fracture in his neck, while Switch broke her back and hip. Smosh was pushed towards a tree, but he put out his arms and grabbed hold of it and didn't go anywhere.

When all of the flock were created, they all had specific jobs within their group. Kaito was supposed to keep them hidden, Tara was supposed to protect them all, Switch was supposed to confuse or distract the enemy, Crevice was supposed to keep them warm when necessary or supply fire where necessary, Atia was supposed to lead the way, and Artie was supposed to supply allies from the animal kingdom. But Smosh was different. Smosh was supposed to be the healer, so he was taught how to use the things around him to help aid the flock when they were injured. (Though the way he learned all this was morbid. The scientists would purposefully injure a member of the flock and lock them in a room with Smosh and a few leaves and sticks and various other non-medical objects. He would have an hour in the room alone with them to save them before the scientists would butt in.)

Once the force stopped, Smosh crawled over to where Switch and Kaito were laying. He started with Switch, and tried his best to set her spine. She was already in a coma, so her body and muscles were trying to set the bones on their own, and when he set her hip, the rest of her body just set back in place, and she looked much more comfortable.

Next was Kaito, but Smosh could feel the liquid pumping more and more into his veins, and his vision started going dark. He quickly checked Kaito's head and neck, and saw there was nothing he could do unless he was completely awake and had time a lot more time, or a first aid kit.

Smosh tried to calm down, but it just made him worse, and his dizziness and comatose state was almost there. He lied back and let his eyes close, but he couldn't slow down his breathing. His chest felt like it would burst any second.

But he was quickly slipping away so his body could heal and rest, and he put his feet together and let whatever was going to happen, happen.

He woke up to his radio talking. Good morning San Francisco! Today's gonna be a hot one, with highs in the 90's and lows in the 80's. Now here's Jaime with sports. Nathan turned it off, he didn't want to hear all about how his sports team lost yesterday. He almost burnt his signed jersey in frustration.

Nathan groaned and slipped on his white button down shirt, pulled up his black slacks, and buttoned his jacket. He felt the school insignia and glided his hand over to his left breast pocket and felt inside. When he first got into West Pacific Academy, a school his family had gone to for generations, his sister carried out the family tradition, and cut off a piece of the family quilt and had sewn it inside of his breast pocket. He grabbed his backpack and walked downstairs.

His sister was downstairs asleep on the kitchen counter, and she probably fell asleep while trying to make coffee or something.

Nathan didn't wake her, because she probably didn't get any sleep last night anyways.

He grabbed a bagel and ran outside to his bus stop. Just as he did, it pulled up, and all the students piled on. Everyone had already gotten sort of assigned seats on the bus, but not really. He just sat in his spot, and everyone else sat in theirs.

But today was different. Recently there was a fire, and the North Pacific Academy, West Pacific Academy's sister school, was damaged beyond repair. So they were moved to WPA in the third week of school.

So when he climbed on, there was a girl in his seat.

He sat down next to her without asking first, just to spite her for taking his spot.

"Excuse me," she said looking at him, "but you never asked if you could sit with me." She promptly shoved him off the seat with her hip. He fell and dropped his bagel, and watched it roll away on the dirty bus floor.

He finally looked her in the eye and saw her angry face. She had bright green eyes and long red hair that reached her hip. She wore a bright pink shirt that read, "Consensual sex is HOT", a pair of ripped skinny jeans, and a pair of galaxy vans.

The only reason that he actually noticed her clothes though, was the fact that NPA had a uniform. Why wasn't she wearing it?

He stood up and bowed as much as he could in the confinement of the bus walkway, "My apologies. May I sit with you?"

She laughed a bit and scooted over. "I'm Steph," She held out her hand. "And sorry about your bagel."

He shook it and said, "I'm Nathan, and its fine. I like your shirt."

She looked down at it, "Oh yeah, it's against the dress code we were given. I came from NPA and they don't have girl's uniforms here, so while they're working on getting us some, we just have a dress code instead of a uniform." She pulled out a little slip of paper from her bag, and started to read it out loud in a mock uptight voice, "Absolutely no graphic tees, tank tops, crop tops, or any shirts that contain profanity, or show any unladylike skin. No pants, please wear a skirt, and all skirts must at least reach down to your knees. And no colored shoes. Please wear solid black, white, grey, or blue sneakers. All hair may not surpass the middle of your back, unless your religion or culture requires it. And if so, always keep your hair braided. If any of these rules are broken, you may be subject to a call home or detention. Be prepared to be asked to change your clothes in the nurse's station. Thank you."

Steph looked up at him. "Isn't that the stupidest thing you've ever heard? Why no graphic tees? Why no pants? Why a specific color of shoes? And what's so unladylike about shoulders?"

Nathan thought about that. That was super dumb, but he had never really thought about it before then.

"Yeah, I love your outfit," He replied.

She laughed, "Stick it to the-" she was interrupted by a screaming match in the back of the bus.

It wasn't actually that loud, it was just amplified by the fact that those two fighting were fighting on an otherwise pretty silent bus.

"Why the hell were you even walking downstairs with it?!" A girl yelled.

A boy replied, "Quiet down! You're new here, so god damn, can't you keep your head low for now?" He talked quieter. "Why the hell is a stupid vinyl so important to you anyways? I can just buy you a new one!"

"It's more of the principle of it. Why did you take it without asking? Why did you take it downstairs?" She yelled back. She stopped for a second. "Lina, help me out here."

"I think I'm gotta agree with Sammy. Kyle has no right to just take your stuff." Lina replied.

"Fine I'll buy you a new one and won't touch it." Kyle said at last.

Nathan turned and looked at Lina, Sammy and Kyle. Lina was about his age, Asian, and drop dead gorgeous. Sammy and Kyle were obviously siblings, and Kyle looked to be in Nathan's grade; a senior. Sammy looked like she was a sophomore, and both of them had striking eyes, though different colors, and bright blonde hair.

Nathan turned back to Steph who was falling asleep on the window. The bus stopped at the front of the school, and knocked her into the seat in front of them.

She woke up with a gasp and leaned back against the seat. She stood up and so did Nathan, and they climbed off of the bus.

They walked down towards the school silently until Kyle tapped Nathan on the shoulder.

"Hey sorry to bother you, but is she your sister?" Kyle asked Nathan.

"No," He said, "and you really don't have to be asking me. Ask her, she has a voice you know."

Kyle replied back quickly. "Well is she your girlfriend?"

"Yes," Steph said, and locked her arm into his. "I am his girlfriend."

Kyle's smirk quickly fell, and he walked back towards Sammy and Lina, both laughing hysterically.

Once he was out of earshot, Steph whispered to Nathan, "Thank you so much. Most of the time, when I claim that I'm gay, that doesn't stop guys from hitting on me, so now I always try to walk around with a huge muscled guy who I can claim is my boyfriend. They give up quickly after that."

Nathan smiled and whispered back, "I knew almost immediately what you were doing. A lot of girls do that with me, and I'm not an asshole, so I used to walk my girl friends around before we got into different schools."

She smiled and unlinked their arms, but held his hand instead.

They walked into the building, and when she saw that Kyle was out of earshot, she let go of his hand.

"Thanks again," she said smiling, "I gotta go to the office, so I'll see you later, okay?"

Nathan nodded and headed off to where his friends hang out before school.

His friend Bryant had a big red mark across his face. His boyfriend Mark had obviously broken up with him again. They were such an off again on again couple, and Bryant was such a player.

Mark was walking towards Nathan, his face red with fury.

"Bryant kissed Thomas yesterday." Mark yelled to Nathan.

Nathan walked faster over to Mark. Mark gained speed too, and dropped his backpack on the ground. Nathan opened up his arms and Mark fit himself into them, holding Nathan for dear life.

"He's such a douche." Mark whined.

"I know,"

"He's such a player." Mark hissed.

"I know,"

"He's such a cutie." Mark sighed.

"Mark…" Nathan pleaded.

Mark let go and sat down, "We can talk about this later I guess. Yeah, I need to calm down." He turned away from Nathan.

Nathan sat next to him and opened his mouth to say something, but he was interrupted by the bell. Mark practically jumped up and walked away from Nathan.

"I'll text you!" He yelled to Nathan.

Nathan sighed and pulled out his new schedule from his bag. It was pretty confusing, to look at, with all the numbers and random information all over it, but the gist of it was: first period English, second period Piano, third period and fourth period Weight Training, then lunch, sixth period AP Biology, and seventh period and eighth period were his internship at room 2080.

He sighed and got up. He looked over at the nearest room; 1005. His first class was 2236, so he was nowhere near.

He trudged through the hallways, amazed by how many people were staring at him. Was there something on his face?

One girl winked at him, and then he understood. There was handsome on his face, he guessed.

He climbed a flight of stairs and saw his class was right in front of him. He walked in and recognized someone.

"Bryant!" He said. Bryant got up and hugged Nathan.

"I couldn't talk to you this morning! Mark was really mad at me, and I didn't want to intrude." Bryant said.

Nathan nodded. He noticed someone staring at him from the back of the classroom.

"Matthew?" Nathan asked, and headed over towards him.

Matthew nodded at him in greeting. He was never one for talking anyways. Matthew had dark hair and a hood covering it. Nathan looked at his dark blue hoodie, and read the words, 'Las Vegas'.

"How have you been?" Nathan asked.

"Okay," Matthew said.

Nathan frowned, "You have to talk to me more! We used to be pretty close, man. We should get a cup of coffee and catch up sometime."

Matthew nodded in agreement.

"See yah," Nathan said and head over to the empty seat next to Bryant.

The bell rang, and the teacher got up, "Welcome to English 12! I am-"

He was interrupted by Steph crashing into the classroom.

"I'm so sorry! The office gave me this note." Steph said, trying to catch her breath. (From running the stairs, probably.)

"Its fine, it's the first day today so I don't mind if anyone's late for the next few days. In fact, I'll never be very strict on attendance, just know that I start teaching when the bell rings, it's your own fault if you miss anything.

I am Mr. Shapiro, and I'll be your English 12 teacher this semester. Please bear in mind that you need to pass this class in order to graduate, so I'll do anything in my power to keep you out of this school next year. Good riddance!" He yelled jokingly.

Everyone chuckled a little and pulled out their over the summer English homework. (Well those who did it at least.) Steph plopped down into the empty seat next to Nathan.

Matthew tapped on Nathan's shoulder.

Nathan turned around, and Matthew wasn't Matthew anymore. Half of his face was burned off, and the school started morphing into a field with a forest nearby. Everything was happening so quickly that Nathan got vertigo.

Matthew was still behind Nathan, and he yelled, "Smosh, run!"

Suddenly, they were on a farm, and Smosh recognized it well. There was a man with a gun pointed right at his chest. He could hear a girl sobbing in the bushes.

He ran towards her, 20% because of curiosity and 80% not wanting to get shot in the chest. There was a gunshot, and the man with the gun ran after him.

"Smosh, run faster!" That girl yelled between sobs.

He tried, but suddenly, his legs were stuck. The bushes disappeared, and a girl came out.

She was a short, dark colored girl, who looked about 14.

"Who're you?" Smosh asked, "Help me please, I can't move!"

She kept walking towards him as if he never said anything.

"Hello?"

Nothing.

He waved his arms.

Nothing.

Nothing he did made any difference, and she walked right past him.

She ran into him, finally, and stopped. And in a voice that sounded much like that of a deaf person, she said, while touching his face, "Who are you?"

He gently held her hands and said, "I don't know anymore." Tears streamed down his face faster than he could manage, and he fell down.

That girl started changing, her arms and legs getting darker and shorter, then her head, then her body. Finally she was a small black girl, with dreads reaching down to her shoulder blades.

She screamed and pulled away from his hands, and ran over into the woods. She talked to herself and paced around, shaking her head and calling herself stupid, and telling herself to shut up.

He crawled away from her, figuring that going towards her wasn't a good idea since she ran away from him.

Finally, he got up.

And he got shot.

Even though there was blood gushing out of him, he didn't react in the slightest. It didn't hurt at all, but he was still in pain.

He recognized everyone now. That girl was Atia and Artie. Matthew was Crevice. Steph was Tara. Kyle was Kaito and Sarah was Switch.

And Kimu wasn't there, because Kimu was dead.

Smosh woke up leaned up against a tree. Kaito was pacing around, talking to someone, possibly himself. Smosh could barely understand what he was saying, but he could figure out that he was in shock over Kimu.

"Kimu is dead… anyone would… when Smosh wakes up…"

Smosh cleared his throat, and Kaito turned quickly.

"You took longer than both of us, and we were way more hurt than you were." Kaito said to Smosh.

"That's why," Smosh retorted, "your bodies made more to heal you faster."

Kaito sneered and walked over to him. He held out his hand, and Smosh took it, and Kaito helped to pull him up.

Smosh pulled Kaito in for a hug (which Kaito was definitely not expecting) and held him there.

"When can we leave?" Switch asked.

Smosh walked over to her, and she quickly said, "No hugs, please." He laughed and sat down next to her.

"Give me some time to wake up first." He said.

Kaito chuckled lightly, "We don't have any time. We have to get home to tell them the news."

"And what exactly are we going to tell them anyways? I'm actually curious how we are going to present this lightly to them." Switch said.

"Well I'm not worried about telling anyone but Atia." Smosh replied.

Kaito agreed, "Yeah, she's always so mysterious. It seems so lonely." Smosh and Switch silently agreed.

"Well I hope you're awake, because we should leave now." Kaito said to Smosh.

Smosh groaned and stood up, "I mean, I just sat down… I guess."

"That's the spirit." Switch laughed.

Kaito struggled to get his wings out of his shirt, and struggled even more to get himself in the air. But Switch wasn't so lucky. Even though she had cut slits into the back of her shirt, she had so much struggled getting into the air, Smosh had to throw her.

And like usual, Smosh jumped up high into the air, and pushed down hard with his wings, and was aloft in the air. (And like usual, Kaito and Switch were deep in envy.)

After several hours of silent flying, they finally saw the resort come into view. Smosh was anxious to see everyone again, and even more anxious about the fact that he would hear all about what he did while he was being awful.

Smosh grimaced and turned to face Kaito. "Did anything interesting happen while I was gone? Can you catch me up on what's happened?"

Kaito turned and looked at Switch. "Well Switch and I are siblings, and Sharon is our mom, and that guy in the wheelchair is your dad." He paused for a second. "Oh yeah! And he gave you this, which you dropped while we were running, so I picked it up." He opened up his hand to reveal a flash drive.

"Where are we going, by the way? I've guessed that it's the resort, but I mean how would we pay for that?" Smosh asked.

Kaito put the flash drive back in his shirt pocket and shrugged. "We are going to the resort, but they let us stay there for free. Weird, right?" He paused, "But I'm surprised you're not saying anything about what I said earlier."

Smosh shrugged. "I mean I've always thought that you two were siblings, and I don't know who this 'wheel chair guy' is so, why should I care?"

Switch interrupted, "Our mom died." Smosh stared at her with a confused look.

Kaito looked at her quickly. "So what? She was awful!"

Switch looked solemn. "Do all awful people deserve death?"

"No," He concurred, "but in her case, it was both unstoppable and fortunate."

Switch stayed silent for a second. "Well that doesn't change the fact that, our mother is dead. She was our only mother, and now she's dead."

Kaito yelled, "Well you know who else is dead? Kimu! Kimu is dead, and she's not coming back! The lab is gone forever, and Sharon, and all those scientists inside! Every other one probably won't show their face for a while. We're free thanks to Kimu's sacrifice, once again. And we accused her of being a traitor! I have never felt so guilty in my life, Switch!"

Switch murmured, "As if I haven't heard that before. 'I have never felt so guilty'. What bull-" Switch was interrupted by a swift punch to her face.

She started to spiral down, until she regained control of herself and she landed safely on the ground. Kaito went down after her, with rage engraved in his eyes. Smosh flew after them, getting whiplash from how quickly everything was happening.

Switch looked up at Kaito, about to land. She yelled, "Why did you have to do that, Kaito?"

He yelled back, "Why can't you forgive me?"

She stared hard at him and hesitated. Finally she retorted, "I already did. But you won't let me."

He immediately slowed down, and landed softly on the ground next to her. "What do you mean?"

She laughed and said, "What do you mean, 'What do you mean?'? I was so angry at you, and I had to take it out somehow! So I started yelling and fighting you, and once I had finally started to forgive you, you started doing it back to me! Let me forgive you. It's alright Kaito, you did it for a reason."

Kaito started crying and said, "I can never forgive myself."

Switch pulled him into her arms and said, "It's time, Kaito. You've punished yourself, and me for that matter, enough. I forgive you. Tara forgave you. Artie forgave you. Crevice forgave you. Atia forgave you. Smosh forgave you. It's your turn."

He held her close and said, "Are you sure?"

She said, "Yes, Kaito. It's time for change."

"Well," He said, "alright."

He let go of her, wiped his tears and looked at Smosh. He could feel Smosh's eyes as they bore into him.

"What are you looking at?" He yelled sarcastically at him.

Smosh smiled wide and said, "Can we just go home, you big baby?"

Kaito walked towards the resort (and shoved Smosh while he did) with Switch and Smosh following suit.

The automatic doors opened as they walked passed them towards the arrow-shaped-sign that read "Rooms this way".

As they walked in the moonlight, it felt as though all the fear, anxiety, and lies that they had been living in were being washed off of them. They felt almost reborn.

They finally reached their door. Kaito knocked, and the door immediately flew open. Inside, holding the door open was Crevice, cooking was Tara, and watching the T.V. were Atia and Artie. Smosh pushed past Kaito and walked inside as fast as one can walk without running. He burst into the kitchen and grabbed Tara by her hips, and pulled her into his arms. She cried out and pulled him towards her, as if no matter how close together they were, it wasn't close enough. They pulled apart to look at each other, and Smosh pulled her hair away from her face. He leaned in and kissed her, and she pulled away for a second.

"I thought I would never see you again." She let out a sob.

"Likewise." Smosh said. "And we have news to tell you."

Switch walked in and hugged Crevice (admittedly not as passionately as Smosh and Tara, but I mean, she's like 16 when they're like 20.)

Artie ran up to Kaito and said, "I thought I would never see you again," and faked a sob.

Kaito said, "Likewise," in a decent imitation of Smosh's voice.

Artie puckered her lips, and Kaito kneeled down, and allowed her to press them on his cheek. She giggled, and Kaito picked her up, and balanced her on his hip.

Tara took the stir-fry off of the stove top, and went to go sit down on the couch. (Without letting go of Smosh's hand, of course.)

Atia stared at Smosh with terror in her eyes. She signed to Crevice, and he let go of Switch and walked over to her.

She signed slowly, and after only the second try, Crevice translated, "She wants to know where Kimu is."

Smosh's smile dropped. Atia started crying loudly, wailing before she was even sure about the news. She stared at Crevice, and he crumpled to the ground, limp. Then suddenly, he was almost floating above the ground, with his eyes still rolled into the back of his head.

Crevice called out in a hollow voice, "Where is she!?"

Switch, horrified, yelled, "Atia, let him go!"

She turned to Switch, and Crevice fell to the ground again. Then Switch flew up in the same state that Crevice was in, and called out, "Where is she!?"

Smosh quietly said, "Atia, I'm so sorry. Kimu is-" But he was interrupted by her wailing, now both her and Switch were crying out, as if they cried loud enough, Kimu would come back.

Kaito said, "Kimu sacrificed herself, and she bombed the lab."

Atia dropped Switch back on the ground, and ran outside. She unfurled her wings and flew off.

"Should we go after her?" Tara asked, her voice cracking from her tears.

Smosh shook his head. "She will know where we are anyways. There's no point."

Crevice woke up suddenly, and sat up, still in his trance, "Please, take me too. I can't live without her. I've always loved her so much, she practically raised me. I can't live without her, please take me too, or tell me it's not true. Please be waiting for me, please tell me that it was stupid of me to think he was telling the truth. Please, Kimu!"

Crevice blinked, and his eyes were back to normal. He groaned, "My head is killing me."

Switch sat up suddenly and said, quietly, "Why am I alone again?" She blinked, and her eyes were back. "Where am I?"

She blinked a couple more times and said, "Oh, never mind."

Kaito said sadly, "So we were there in the lab with Kimu, and she and this woman, and these two men were in a conference room with us. The woman was named Sharon Boyd, one of the men was in a wheelchair, his name was Dr. White, and his brother's name was Benjamin. We were all talking, and Kimu gave us this cock and bull story about how she was never our friend. But when Sharon left the room, she told us the truth, that she was told to help us escape, and pretend to be our friend, but she fell in love with us, and abandoned the mission. So Dr. White fixed Smosh, and we ran out just in time to see Kimu say, 'I love you, but run!' and she took off her shirt to reveal a bomb. So Sharon shot her and we escaped and she exploded the place. We were all hurt pretty badly and we went into comas." He paused for a second, "Oh my god, is Dr. White okay?"

Switch shrugged, "I'm pretty sure he said he was leaving."

Smosh butt in, "And Dr. White gave me this." He pointed to Kaito, who pulled the drive out of his shirt pocket.

Switch added, "And we found out that Sharon is Kaito's and my mom, so we're siblings. And Dr. White is Smosh's dad."

Tara said, "Well can we watch whatever's on that?"

Kaito nodded, "There a flash drive port in the T.V."

He walked up, turned the T.V. onto the right port, plugged in the flash drive, and sat back down.

A young Dr. White came onto the screen, with a timestamp reading 9/16/94.

"Hello, this is the first day of our experimentation. Our first subject is on my little boy, Henry." He lifted up a baby, and continued, "I want for Henry to be able to live a long and happy life. His sister, Margaret, died of Leukemia back in June. She was only 2 years old. Henry here is only a week old, and his mother is slowly dying of grief." He wiped away a tear. "Henry deserves to able to live. I'm going to give him what every little boy wants too. He's going to be able to fly. And I've been thinking, I'm going to give him what I've always lacked, strength." He smiled, "Henry you just wait; you're going to be the best human out there."

The screen blipped, and an older Dr. White and timestamp came on; 1/30/96. "Henry is doing great, and we got him his wings." He didn't look happy, and he grimaced, "But the process is more painful than we originally thought. And all these steroids we're giving him aren't great for him either." He began to whisper, "I'm starting to regret ever creating this project. Maybe I was going too far with this. My son would've been fine without it, but if I stop the treatment now, he'll die of withdrawal." He paused. "And we have two new subjects, a baby girl named Anya, and a baby boy named Thomas. Thomas is Sharon's son, and his treatment is by far the worst we've ever given. He's going to be able to turn invisible, but he has to take a horribly painful serum for 15 years or so. I fear for him the most, his mother is ruthless. But baby Anya has only gotten wings so far, but from what I hear, she won't be able to get her next treatment until she's almost fully grown. Poor girl, she'll remember it well, then." He stopped again. "I have to end this."

The screen blipped again, and this time, the timestamp said 7/5/05. "I regret to say that no matter how much I've tried, this experimentation will not end. Henry, if you're watching this, somehow, I am truly sorry I was foolish enough to start this hell. Now there are 7 experiments. Anya, Thomas, Henry, Sophia, the blonde sweetheart, Amara, a girl who quite honestly has lost her mind, Lucas, a quiet soul who we forced to live in a box, and Catalina, a beautiful girl whose tongue we cut off yesterday. This is too much. I can't handle it, I love all of these children with all my heart, and I can't help them. I've started planning with a security guard named Kimu. She's going to start translating ASL for little Catalina, and I'm going to start teaching her how amazing these children are. Sadly, none of them have talked to me since Henry was about 3 years old, so they don't know of me anymore. But I've been looking after them, striking deals with the other scientists to help make their lives a little more comfortable. But I fear that Sharon is onto me. She has never had the capacity to love these children, and has taught the others that they are not human enough for their respect. I'm growing old, and I can feel myself dying. It might be from always being exposed to all those chemicals, or from thinking a bottle of chemicals was my bottle of gin, but nonetheless, I am dying. I've just finished up writing my will, and Benjamin is going to start taking care of me." He stared at the camera, face to face. "Someday, I'm going to give these videos to Henry, so Henry, if you're watching this, know that I love you, and please, plug this into a computer and look at the files. I have a document with all of my plans for your escape. Look over them, and you can see where I've hidden all the other experiments." He laughed, "Oh, and you know, I've started a business! It's in Hawaii; a little resort that will only ever serve my children. You all can stay there for the rest of your lives if you want! You know, it probably wasn't easy doing this! You should come thank me in person, so I can tell you how sorry I am, face to face." He smiled one last time, and the screen blipped off.

Smosh let out a sob and held his chest. "He was my father?" he asked.

Kaito nodded.

"He was a good man." Smosh said. "And this is his resort? He planned everything out!"

Everyone agreed and sat there in silence.

Tara asked, "Do I look like an Anya? I can't imagine myself as anything but 'Red' and 'Tara'."

Smosh chuckled, "I can see it."

Kaito asked, "Do you want to see what's on the drive?"

Smosh shook his head, "No. I just want to go to bed."

Kaito shrugged, "Fair enough. But we should wait for Atia to come back home."

Smosh laughed, "I'll wait for her in my bed. I haven't slept in so long!"

Kaito sneered, "Kid, you were in a coma."

Smosh got up, "I don't deny that." And he headed into the bedroom, with Tara following behind him. (Don't even think about it, they're just going to sleep.) The door clicked shut, and the front door slammed open.

Atia stood there, covered with tears, and her face red from screaming. She walked in without looking at anyone, and stormed into the bathroom.

Kaito sighed, "Well now that I know she's safe, I'm going to bed too."

Switch smiled, "Yeah, same."

Artie yelled, "Tara! Can you tuck me in?"

Kaito shushed her, "I'll do it."

And one by one, they all went to sleep, and it seemed that all was peaceful.

For now.
