Hey guys, this is part two of Infection. Just wanted to keep this intro short. Don't really have anything to say.
Chapter Ten
Meta Knight led Ender and Dark Pit downstairs back to their dorm. Meta Knight closed the door behind them and was met with furious whisper-yelling from Dark Pit. "Why the hell would you leave him out there!?" Meta Knight pointed at Dark Pit and asked "Did you see how many of those things there were!?" "That doesn't mean we shouldn't have tried to save him,"
Ender started to hear multiple footsteps, and tried to say, "Uh, guys…" But Dark Pit cut him off, "We have to go back for Sora." "Guys…" "And get infected ourselves!?" "Guys!" Ender finally got their attention and said, "Footsteps," and pointed to the door.
Meta Knight and Dark Pit listened closely and eventually heard the footsteps. The group started to barricade the door again when they heard knocking. Dark Pit whispered to Ender, "Are those things smart enough to knock," Ender said "Probably. Okay, do what we did a few minutes ago. Meta Knight, open the door and me and Dark Pit will shoot an arrow and a Flame Blast," Meta Knight and Dark Pit nodded and Ender and Dark Pit readied their projectiles.
"Ender, I swear to god if you shoot me with a Flame Blast when you open this door I will leave," said the voice on the other side of the door.
Dark Pit looked at Ender with eyes that looked like they asked Can those things talk? Ender shook his head no and told them to take the barricade down. "Samus, is that you?" Ender called.
He heard a response from her, "Yes, and I have Mr. Chief with me. He can fill us in on what's happening," "Okay, we'll let you in." Once the barricade was down they unlocked the door and let Mr. Chief and Samus in.
Meta Knight and Dark Pit barricaded the door again and came over to Samus and Mr. Chief to hear their explanation. "Okay, so Dr. Mario didn't open a portal to another dimension, he opened it to another area in our dimension. He opened it to an area in space where these guys, the Flood are. The Flood are a parasite working under one hive mind. Unfortunately, their 'Queen' is already up. It's in the auditorium and it's called the Gravemind. There are multiple forms of Flood, but there are three that are very infamous. Infection Form, Combat Form, Carrier Form. Infections attach to the host and turn them into Combat Forms. Those Combats eventually become Carriers which make more Infection and release them. Rinse and repeat." Mr. Chief finished his speech, leaving Ender, Dark Pit, and Meta Knight surprised at how much he knows about them.
Mr. Chief seemed to read their minds and said "I've fought them before. Anyway, the point is, we take down the Gravemind, we take down the Flood. That's why we came here. Ender, fire is very useful for eliminating the Flood, so we need you to take down the Gravemind. If we take down the Gravemind, we should be able to uninfect all the students." Mr. Chief said.
Ender nodded then asked, "But how are we supposed to do that? There's only five of us." Mr. Chief nodded then said, "I called in some help. Let's get to the roof." Mr. Chief led them to the roof where there were two strange hover airplanes touching down.
They let down their cargo bay doors and from one came thirty men dressed in combat armor. From the other came three people who looked liked Mr. Chief but didn't. "Chief!" one of them called "We brought your reinforcements!" called one. "Thanks Kelly," Another nodded to Ender and them, "Are these some of the kids you're teaching? Must be boring," seemingly ignoring Samus who had almost identical armor to them.
"Well, it isn't Fred. This is a fight school after all," "But you teach Math?" Mr. Chief was about to say something before he shrugged.
"I'm just messing with you. So what's the problem." "Flood" At this all the soldiers tensed up and there was an uncomfortable silence.
"Alright, where's the Grave Mind?" One of the other soldiers asked.
"Follow us," Mr. Chief led everyone back down into the school, weapons at the ready.
Yeah, I definitely have to make this a three parter. The next chapter will probably be very short just to wrap this up and give an ending. The ending was definitely rushed and blunt. Alright, hope you guys enjoyed. See ya guys, Peace.
