Marik: Can I have them?
Ayumu: No! No you cannot have my beautiful fingers!
Marik: *looks confused* But you said-
Ayumu: *interrupts Marik* I was kidding! It was the first thing that came to mind when I started typing! Geez!
Marik: So I can't have…?
Ayumu: NO!

Chapter 9: What Head Start?
(Malik's POV)
Yugi had already found a trail leading up the mountain side. He instructed me to point everyone in the right direction as they came.
Kikico and Joey were with him so when Ryou and Serenity came through I bound over to them. 'Ryou! Ryou! Yugi took that trail! Joey and Kikico are with him! Say hi to Serenity for me?'
I was giddy in my wolf form. That's a no brainer. I like acting like a kid though. Sue me! Anyway, only Mai was left so I began to explore.
After a few minutes I heard Mai howl my name. I came a running then sat down by her.
She smiled down at me and pet behind my sandy brown ear. I don't look like normal wolfs. My coat is a sandy brown color with some shades of gray and black mixed in. My eyes were still a bright lavender though cause everything but my eyes change.
As I lead the way I chased about in the brush. We got to the camp site and I felt my hair begin to stand on end. Something wasn't right.
{{Stay here Mai!}} I barked as I took off for the cave entrance. I heard her bark after me, [[Malik! Why do I have to stay?!]] I was too far gone to care though.
I leapt into the mouth of the cave only to find everyone laughing. I sat back on my haunches and whined while cocking my head to the side.
'There was a danger scent in here…right?' Suddenly the scent filled the air again. I shot up, growling as I tensed. Preparing to fight if needed.
They all just laughed and Yugi smiled as he said, "Sorry Malik. I wanted to try out my intimidation scent. It came from a male Griffon and I felt like messing with you a bit so sorry if I freaked you out."
I let out a whine before I barked, {{You can come in now Mai! Yugi was just messing with me!}} I heard her sigh before footsteps marked her entrance.
(Meanwhile…)
Yami stopped just outside of the huge gate that guarded the massive house. He let out another sigh when he saw Bakura trying to hack the security code.
Marik had rung the bell but there was no answer. Yami was about to give up hope when he remembered something.
He buzzed the bell three times, waited a minute, then typed -9264- into the key pad. He crossed his fingers and silently prayed it would work.
The gates swung open and Yami said, "Thank Ra!" Bakura looked at him, then the keypad, then the gate and repeated.
Finally Bakura snapped and said, "How did you do that!" Yami turned to him, smirking, before he answered. "I remembered a time I spent with my super smart cousins. They wouldn't want me locked out of their house now would they?"
Yami then casually walked up the driveway. He left a speechless and dumbstruck duo behind as he walked towards the door.
He had just rung when they finally caught up. They both sat back to back on the porch as they waited for someone to come to the door.
The door soon opened and a butler ushered them inside before the door shut and he disappeared.
While Bakura and Marik looked around the entry hall in interest Yami watched a figure step out of the shadows. As the figure came into view a shadow lunged forward and tackled Yami to the floor.
Yami's deep baritone chuckle sounded as he sat up. "It's been to long Mokie. How have you been?" The young boy looked up and smiled.
Yami looked down at the boy and was set to stand back up. Then he saw Mokuba's bandaged neck.
"What happened to your neck Mokie?!" The boy quickly slipped away. He was behind his brother before Yami could get up and Yami sent Seto a questioning look.
Seto waved his hand, dismissing the issue as unimportant. This confused Yami but he dropped it anyway.
"Did a group of seven come here? They have a bounty on their heads and some powerful people want them back." Mokuba tensed at that.
Then Marik randomly shouted, "Pharaoh's cousin help dangerous people escape through fancy gadget! I know where! I know where!" Then Marik took off down a hallway.
(3 minutes later)
The room was gadgety and a teleporter thing was on at its center. Marik had run through the colorful vortex with Bakura at his heels
(Yami's POV)
"Seto? Mokie? Is what Marik said true?" I was still in Seto's house. Bakura and Marik had gone on ahead.
My cousin gave me a look and said, "I sent a guard out to collect them because of a request and upon arrival they ran amuck before they found this room. I was working on it when they arrived and accidentally left it on."
I gave him a suspicious look but said, "If you don't hear from us in the next 5 hours or so send in reinforcements. Can you do that?" Seto nodded and Yami sighed.
Yami leapt through the vortex with some doubt. 'Did I make the right choice? No, that is the past and now is the future. The hunt is on.' I landed in a crouch and I growled out, "I want them found by dusk. Let's move."
Chapter 10: Caught At Last!
Ayumu: Ah! They caught up! Run Yugi! Run!
Ryou: *sweat drops* What about the rest of us? Are we chop liver?
Ayumu: *grins cheekily* Yup!
Malik: What!? Then why are we still here!?
Ayumu: *frowns* I was joking. Plus 'run Yugi run' sounds better than, 'run Yugi, Ryou, Joey, Serenity, Mai, Kikico, and Malik run'.
Mai: Now that's a mouthful. I think you chose wisely when you said it the first time.
Ayumu: Thanks Mai! *turns to Malik* At least someone's on my side!
Malik: *sulks* Yeah, yeah.
