Chapter 10: Silver Lining Part 1
''Ok'' said Dr O standing from the front of the room in his white lab coat, while pointing his black pointer at the board ''We've got Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, and Brontosaurus. Now can someone name me some of the carnivores of that era''.
Immediately Noah's hand shot up. ''Triceratops, Carnotaurus, and Compsognathus''
''Excellent! replied Dr O now can anyone tell me when the dinosaurs from this era are estimated to have died out and why?
Again Noah was the only one to put his hand up. The rest of the class seemed dazed and confused by Dr O's question. Even Emma ,Gia, and Troy who were all good students in school were stumped by the question. But instead of calling on Noah again Dr O began to walk around searching for another student's answer until his wandering gaze became immediately focused on a desk in the middle of the room.
Jake was seated at the desk. His drooping head rested on his shoulder and even managed to breath out a little snore. Instead of yelling, Dr O calmly walked up to Jake's desk and seized his unopened textbook. The class watched in anticipation some snicking others expected their teacher to smack Jake. Dr. O simply just took the book and without hesitation sent the book falling to the ground. Crash! The unexpected noise startled Jake so much he lept to his face while yelling out
''Gia would you go out...!''
He stopped when he realized where he was, which let loose an unstoppable laughter among his classmates , all but Gia who looked annoyed at Jake's outburst but couldn't help but blush
''Jake'' said a crossed Dr O ''I know this is first period, but try to remember the difference of when you should be sleeping and when to pay attention in my class. Ok?
''Ya, sorry Dr O'' replied Jake. He picked up his book while Dr O returned to the chalkboard trying to clam down his amused class.
Suddenly the door opened and a kid walked in. He had a tall look to him and wore tanish pants with a grey long sleeve shirt while he pushed his blonde hair out of his eyes which amazily appeared to be silver.
''Ah'' said Dr O ''you must be our new student. Everyone this is Orion he is new here to Harwood County, so I expect all of you to make him feel welcome''.
Orion simply nodded to the classroom and seemed like he was trying to make out a smile on his face as he took a seat next to Troy. After class had ended Troy caught up to Orion in the hallway.
''Hey Orion'' Troy called. ''I just wanted to welcome you to the school. I know what its like to be the new kid. I'm Troy''.
As he stuck out his hand out Orion seemed puzzled on what to do for a second then took Troy's hand and shaked it. As he did Troy noticed his bracelet had a certain familiar symbol on it.
''Say, where did you get that bracelet'' Troy asked
Orion struggled. ''Umm...I...well..''.
''Orion!'' came Dr O's voice from behind the two. ''The principal wanted me to show you around the school to show you where everything is''.
''I can show him, Dr O'' kindly insisted Troy
''That's very considerate of you Troy, but I think ill handle this one. Now hurry along or you will be late for your next class''.
''Ok'' mumbled a confused Troy as he watched the two leave. Later before lunch he met up with Noah and Jake at their lockers.
''I wasn't sleeping, I was just resting'' protested Jake to Noah
''Resting and snoring'' scolded Gia as she and Emma walked up behind the three guys. ''You really should try to stay awake Jake, you might just learn something''. Jake frowned and look over to Troy who looked puzzled.
''Whats up Troy'' Jake asked
''Its something I saw when I was talking to that new kid, Orion''
''Yeah what'' asked Emma
''A symbol on his bracelet. It looked just liked the one on our morphors!.
Emma, Jake, and Noah all seemed excited but Gia looked upset and had her arms crossed.
''Come on Troy'' complained Gia ''You think Orion is a Power Ranger? You know we don't have a sixth ranger anymore!
''Yeah but... .
The rangers arms all snapped to their wrist communicators when the familiar signal came in. The rangers found a place to hide then answered
''What's up Cat'' Troy whispered.
''There's a platoon of X Borgs attacking downtown Harwood County'' Catherine called
''Were on it'' called Troy. The rangers morphed and teleported downtown where they caught up with the X-Borgs and their commander, Gorgax.
''X-Borgs! yelled Gorax ''Get those Power Rangers!''
The rangers engaged the X-Borgs and began slashing and blasting through the seemly endless line of their metal-headed foes.
''Ah! Theres too many of them'' said Emma as the fatigued rangers regrouped with each other as Gorax and the X-borgs closed in.
''Yeah and that monster's shield is killing us'' remarked Noah
''Yes now you see!'' boasted Gorax ''None of you rangers can defeat us''
''Well then, how about me!'' yelled a voice
Before the rangers could turn around and identify the voice, a large silver wind burst through the rangers almost knocking Troy and Noah to the ground. The rangers looked at what appeared to be a silver man kicking and punching the now fleeing X-Borgs.
''Stay back, I can handle these guys!'' the silver ranger called and he continued his assault of the X-Borgs.
''Who is this guy?'' asked Jake
''Beats me'' said Noah
''He's just an amateur'' proclaimed Gia ''I show him how they real Power Rangers handle things. I am going after the commander!''.
''Gia wait!'' yelled Emma.
But Gia had already rushed into a full head of steam and puled out her morphor. ''Legendary Morphor! Lost Galaxy ,Go Galatic!''. She pulled out her Quesar Saber and began battling Gorax with him deflecting every strike she landed.
''Give up Yellow Ranger! You cant beat me and my impregnable shield''
''Oh yes I can! Hiya!' Gia flung herself into the air flipping behind Gorax and swung to strike his metal collar on his neck when her saber became blocked by the silver ranger's spear.
''Hey, what gives! Gia yelled
''Sorry gorgeous''. The silver ranger said'' but that collar is too obvious a target. Let me handle it''.
''Gorgeous?'' Gia exclaimed
She was so furious and she had to be held back by the rest of the rangers. Ignoring them, the silver ranger pressed his attack on Gorax and manged to slam his spear under Gorax's collar and pitchfork it high into the air. The silver collar began to tick until it exploded in midair as Gorax screamed in frustration.
''What? It was a Bomb?'' exclaimed Gia
''I told you'' remarked the silver ranger ''He was gonna take you down with him. ''Now, let me finish it. He pointed at the monster. Gorax your time on this planet is up! Silver Spear Attack.!
The silver ranger then threw his trident type spear in Gorax's direction and brought down the Zarkan commander in a fiery explosion. He then started to walk away from the rangers until Troy called.
''Hey Silver wait up''. The silver ranger stopped and slightly turned around.
''Who are you'' asked Troy
''Where did you come from'' said Emma
'' And, what makes you think you can be in ranger!'' said Gia pushing pass the rest of them.
''Ask your leader'' replied the silver ranger and before anyone could say anything else he burst into a head of speed and was gone.
''What was that all about!'' exclaimed Jake
''I don't know'' growled Gia ''But Dr O has got some serious explaining to do''.
Ok so I know that was a lot but I just had a lot of ideas I wanted to get down.
