"Jesus Crist."

Aries barely put the car into park as he threw himself out and ran towards the house.

The front door was wide open as he skidded in.

"Arista! ARISTA!"

Nothing.

The house was empty.

And she was gone.

Aries went over to the kitchen and opened up the cupboard that stored the dish towels. After removing the towels he felt around the back wall till he found the button and pressed it. The back panel disappeared exposing a secret compartment.

On a rack was a small caliber pistol with three extra clips and a concussion grenade.

He grabbed the ammo and shoved the clips into his coat pocket and grenade in the other. Aries then grabbed the gun, checked the ammo, and clicked the safety off.

Aries went to clear the house just like Arista showed him how to do. They were both around eight when Rian finally gave into Arista's pleading and showed her the basics of dealing with the Real World, he had called it. Aries had refused to have anything to do with the monsters that took their parents and Ana away. Arista on the other hand submerged herself in the Hunter lifestyle. And because of that she was in this mess.

And he was useless to her.

Even if he was the older brother (by a few minutes but let's not get technical) he couldn't protect her. She was the strong one. Always saving him from his own ignorance and a hot babe that turned out to be a man eater- literally. And all he could do was crack a few jokes so that she would smile after coming home from a job.

As he looked he saw large claw marches scratched into the hardwood floors and up the stairs. Looking at their size started making him sick. He couldn't imagine his sister let alone the Reaper taking on something with that big of claws.

He started in the living room then made his way through every room of the house till he ended in her room upstairs.

He peered inside. The room remained untouched except the window. From the cloth fibers hanging on the shards imbedded in the frame she went out first. He also found some coarse hair that was the wrong shade to be hers. She took the beast with her. Aries peered out of the window and balked at the state of the back yard.

It looks like someone dug up a massive graveyard. Bodies were everywhere. Most were of vampires. They couldn't have been old because they weren't dust as soon as they were re-dead.

"Holy Shit." He heard someone outside. There were some agreements from two others.

"Found you."

Aries spun off the bed pointing his piece towards the door way. It was the blond from the store. Chris. His name was Chris.

"What the hell? What are you doing here?" Aries trained the gun on the blonde's chest. It was a bigger target.

"Relax Jr. we're hunters. Could you take the gun off me?"

Aries narrowed his eyes but did as asked.

"Great."

That's when the pretty brunette showed up. "Shanks says they couldn't have been gone too long. Tire tracks are still fresh."

She turned to Aries. "Is this your sister's?"

She showed the gun.

Rian had given it to her when she turned sixteen. It was a custom made James Bond styled gun with silver and iron handle and muzzle for interrogating monsters with the metal allergy. It also had three pearl white roses ingrained along the sides for style. Rian believed girls should have nice things for all occasions. Even if most of them involved blood and torture.

"Yes. That's hers."

Dru nodded wrapping in up with one of Arista's t-shirts lying around. "I'm going to need it to locate her."

"Fine. Just help me get her back." They nodded then instantly tensed.

"What?" Aries turned around and saw a large black snake the size of my wingspan slither out from the covers.

"What the hell is that?" He backed off away from the bed.

Chris moved towards the bed cautiously. It bared its long fangs at him. Aires swore he saw a fox next to the blonde. It was also peeking at the reptile.

"Where the hell did that come from?"

Chris looked back to him. "What color are your sister's eyes?"

Aries frowned, "Same as mine. Why?"

"Because snakes don't have purple eyes."

Aries and Dru moved closer. True to his word the snakes eyes glowed an unnatural purple.

"Her familiar is a snake. She must have an endearing personality." Chris muttered. Dru hit him.

"Can, can I pick it up?" Aries asked.

The snake looked at him with its unnatural eyes and bobbed its head in an awkward version of a nod.

"Incredible. It's like she's taken on its conscious." Chris muttered as Aries held its arm out for the snake.

The reptile slithered up his jacket sleeve and peeked its head out of the neck. He tried not to shudder at the cold and slimy feeling of the scales on his skin.

"Guys! They all heard a male voice yell. He sounded nervous.

"What is it Dibs?" Dru yelled.

"I just found a timer that is hooked up to enough explosives to make Hiroshima look like kids play."

Shit. Aries was hauled by the hood of his jacket out the window

Dru and Chris landed gracefully whereas Aries landed wrong spraining his ankle.

"Oops." Chris muttered supporting Aries, who spewed every known swears in the English language, as they made their way to the car.

"Time?" Dru asked.

"15 minutes. Not enough time to haul all the neighbors away." This blond guy stated starting the car.

"No need. Every ones dead." This Goth guy appeared.

"Who's this?"

"The brother." Chris shoved Aries in the middle seat getting in behind him. The Goth kid got in also. The other blonde hauled ass out of the drive way with Dru in the passenger seat holing a watch.

"Less than ten minutes left."

Aries saw that they were going over 120 mph. And he wasn't wearing a seat belt.

The snake nudged the side of his face. Weird. The dangerous looking reptile almost looked cuddly.

"4 minutes left." Dru buckled herself into the seat. The other proceeded to do so.

"2 minutes."
There was serious tension in the car.

Dib's knuckles were white from gripping the steering wheel to hard. Dru had a firm grip on the OS (oh shit) handle but monitored the time. The Goth's eyebrow was twitching from trying to anticipate the explosion. Aries zipped Arista's snake in his jacket so it wouldn't go flying through the window if they crashed. Christophe had the calmest body language and expression out of everyone. He chilled in the back with a hint of a smile playing at his lips.

Aries noticed.

"You're to calm. I think that freaking me out more than the threat of the explosion."

Dru laughed out of sheer nerves.

"30 seconds."

No one breathed as the clock counted down to zero.

Behind them the light was enhanced from comfortable to super nova as the ignition sending debris into the air to land haphazardly in the surrounding area.

Dibs pulled a hard right avoiding part of a roof.

"Hang on!" He jerked the steering wheel in the other direction as more debris descended from the Heavens.

Everyone held on to whatever they could as the car serpentine down the road rocking its passengers side to side.

"Dibs." The Goth groaned. "Never drive again." He started to gag.

"Not in the car!" Christophe ordered, more worried about the upholstery than him.

Aries looked back. The road was littered with just about everything. "I think we are good." He gave Dibs a guy like smack on the shoulder. "Excellent driving! Kudos for not killing us!" Dibs laughed shakily. "No kidding."

The car then fell back into silence. Aries took a nap to pass the time until someone was shaking his shoulder.

"Wha-?" he grumbled wiping the drool from his face. It was Dru. "Come on. We need to board."

He nodded unbuckling then limped to the stair to the privet plane. Dru was glaring at Christophe. Chris tried to play the indifferent card but Aries could see he hated to have her mad, especially at him.

Aries looked around. The weather was hot for it being night time. There was sand everywhere and from a distance he could see a lot of brightly lit buildings.

"Are we in Vegas?"

The Goth nodded. "Viva Las Vegas."

Aries snorted. "Viva La Resistance!"

"Aries you're with me!" Dru ordered walking up the stairs and disappearing into the plane.

Aries thought she was as bossy as Arista, then he felt bad. He missed his twin already.

"Coming." He hobbled over to the stairs and lifted himself up without the use of his tweaked leg.

The hatch was shut behind him. He frowned weren't the other coming to? Dru motioned for him to take a seat.

"Where to know?"

"The Orders headquarters in Texas. There we will be able to monitor the situation and begin preparing for war. And to get you situated within the dorms."

"And the others?"

"They will be doing ground work. Chris was very adamant that I get you back to HQ before something else happened." She looked annoyed.

"You want to be down there helping."

"That obvious?"

"Hoo boy you had this scary expression." He joked mimicking Dru's expression.

Dru rolled her eyes. "So what can you tell me about you and your sister?"

And for the next several hours Aries described the adventures of the Makenna twins.
