Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 10 and the first chapter of Bloodlust. Thank you to those who have stayed with this story and this series. It really does mean a lot. I know that the last chapter was a little sappy. But it had to be done to tell you what Aeron had gone through. I hope that you enjoy this chapter. Without further ado Chapter 10.

Chapter 10

Slayne Cattle

Dean was happily driving his car. Sam and Aeron sat in their normal places.

The two of them shared a look.

"Whoo! Listen to her purr! Have you ever heard anything so sweet?" Dean asked grinning from ear to ear.

Aeron shook her head. It had taken him a month to get his car back on the road and she thankfully had gotten off that cast, but now was in a brace which still meant no driving. But she was able to help Dean towards the end which she was surprised that he allowed her to do so. Perhaps it was because Sam said that she worked on her own car and knew what she was doing.

"You know, if you two want to get a room, just let me know, Dean." Sam said looking at his brother.

"Oh, don't listen to him, baby. He doesn't understand us."

"You're in a good mood."

"Why shouldn't I be?"

"No reason."

"Got my car, got a case, things are looking up."

"Wow. You hear a couple of severed heads and a pile of dead cows and you're Mister Sunshine."

"Mister Brightside." Aeron said rolling her eyes.

"How far to Red Lodge?" Dean asked looking at Sam out of the corner of his eyes.

"Uh, about another three hundred miles."

"Good." Dean said flooring it.

SNSNSN

Dean and Sam were dressed in suits while Aeron was dressed in a nice skirt, blouse, and blazer. They were there to talk to the sheriff. They were posing as reporters.

"The murder investigation is ongoing, and that's all I can share with the press at this time." The sheriff told them.

"Sure, sure, we understand that, but for the record, you found the first, uh, head last week, correct?" Sam asked curiously.

"Mm-hmm."

"Okay, and the other, a uh…"

"Christina Flanigan." Aeron said looking at Sam.

"Thanks." He said looking up at her.

"That was two days ago. Is there…"

A young woman knocked on the door and pointed to her watch.

"Oh. Sorry, time's up, we're done here."

"One last question…"

"Yeah, what about the cattle?" Dean asked looking at the sheriff.

"Excuse me?"

"You know, the cows found dead, split open, drained…. over a dozen cases."

"What about them?"

"So you don't think there's a connection?" Sam asked looking at the sheriff.

"Connection…. with…"

"First cattle mutilations, now two murders? Kinda sounds like ritual stuff."

"You know, like satanic cult ritual stuff?" Dean asked rubbing his hands together.

"You… you're not kidding?" The sheriff asked laughing.

"No, we are reporters." Aeron said crossing her arms.

"Those cows aren't being mutilated. You wanna know how I know?"

"How?" Sam asked.

"Because there's no such thing as cattle mutilation. Cow drops, leave it in the sun, within forty eight hours the bloat will split it open so clean it was just about surgical. The bodily fluids fall down into the ground and get soaked up because that's what gravity does. But, hey, it could be Satan. What newspaper did you say your work for?"

"World Weekly News…"

"Weekly World News…"

"World…"

"Weekly World…"

"Weekly." Dean let out a sigh.

"Ignore him he's new." Aeron said looking at Dean with narrow eyes.

"Get out of my office."

Aeron, Sam, and Dean walked out of the office.

"Well there is something going on." Aeron said following the two boys.

SNSNSN

The three of them entered the morgue. They had removed their coats and were wearing white lab coats.

"John." Dean said looking at the man.

"Jeff."

"Jeff. I know that. Dr. Dworkin needs to see you in his office right away."

"But Dr. Dworkin's on vacation."

"Well, he's back. And he's pissed, and he's screaming for you, man, so if I were you I would…" The intern took off. "Okay."

Aeron shook her head. "Really had to put the scare into him?"

Dean shook his head rolling his eyes. He looked at Sam. "Hey, those satanists in Florida, they marked their victims, didn't they?"

"Yeah, reversed pentacle on the forehead." Sam replied.

"Yeah. So much f-d up crap happens in Florida." Dean grumbled. Dean handed Sam a pair of latex gloves. Grabbing a pair of his own and gave Aeron a pair as well.

The three of them put their gloves on.

Sam opened the compartment and wheels out the corpse. There was a box between its legs.

"Alright, open it." Dean told Sam.

"You open it." Sam grumbled out.

Aeron rolled her eyes. "I swear if this is what working with you two will be like god." She grumbled grabbing the box and carrying over to the table. She opened the lid.

Sam cringed.

Aeron looked at the head. "Well there's no pentagram."

Sam came over and saw the head. "Wow… Poor girl."

"Maybe we should, uh, you know, look in her mouth. See if those wackos stuffed anything down her throat. You know, kinda like Moth in Silence of the Lambs."

"Yeah, here, go ahead." Sam said looking at his brother.

"No, you go ahead."

"What?"

"Put the lotion in the basket."

"Oh my god. Why don't you two just back away." Aeron said pushing them away from the head. Aeron opened the girl's mouth. She blinked a few times. "I'll be damned."

"What?" The brothers asked looking at her.

"Come here." She said pulling the two of them over to her. "Look at this." She said lifting up the lip.

"Is that a hole?" Dean asked in confusion.

Aeron pressed lightly on the gun and a narrow sharp tooth came down.

"It's a tooth." Sam said in shock.

"Not any kind of tooth. A vampire fang. We got vampires here." She said looking at the two of them. "I'll be damned. It was something we weren't expecting that's for damn sure."

"Well this changes things." Sam said under his breath.

"Ya think?"

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

This is the end of Chapter 10. I hope that you enjoyed this chapter. I had fun writing this part. Made Aeron a little bit of a bamf. The next chapter will be where they meet Gordon. Will Aeron know who Gordon is. And will he know who she is? Until next time.
