February 20, 1516-Isabella
More than a year passed, Isabella was pleased to discover that Catherine is expecting a child in late winter. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl on February 18 which they named her Mary. Despite the happy little family that Henry made, Isabella had developed painful lumps in her breast which she dismissed as aging. She was no longer youthful woman. Maybe it is for better that they are not meant to be together. Isabella frowned as she stood in the distance as she watched Henry's daughter, Mary being baptized. Henry had ordered her to attend, which she accepted without complaining as her lumps were getting painful. Fortunately for her, the christening finished quickly, which Isabella no more wanted to just lay on her bed and have the doctor examine the painful lumps. Isabella waited patiently for everyone to leave the chapel which she dashed out so quickly.
"Hi Maud, Katie, Will, and Nan, Maud can you fetch the doctor for me? It's the lumps again."
Maud nodded which she scooted her children to their nursery. She fetched the doctor which he came within minutes while Isabella laid on her bed, moaning in pain. The doctor quickly examined her which he declared that she will not have much time on earth. Thanking the doctor which she dismissed him which she began to cry.
"Oh, Maud! The very same lumps that killed my Mama!"
Maud soon tried her best to comfort Isabella as she did not want to face the fact that she will lose her stepdaughter to lumps and see her husband in agony for losing his first wife and daughter to the same disease. Isabella just got the point that she cannot sorrow in pain anymore which she dismissed Maud. She needs to tell Henry and give him some time to grieve as they will never be together on this earth. Using her source of strength, she crawled out of her bed and wrote a message to Henry, in hopes that he'll make a time before he proceed to move Whitehall tomorrow morning. She quickly sent the message to Henry and there was nothing else but hope that he will receive it.
Next morning, to Isabella's disappointment, he was already gone when the message arrived his suite which Isabella knew that she had no another choice but wait for his return in fall. She took a deep breath as she faced the fact that she possibly is dead by the time it arrived into Henry's hands. At the last resort, she took out a paper and wrote a letter to Henry in hopes that he will get it when he comes back in the fall. She took a deep breath and hoped to live throughout the spring and summer.
September 28, 1516-Henry
Dear darling Hal, the by time you are reading this letter. I'm probably long dead and cold in the grave. I'm sorry. I really wanted to tell you earlier, but you are long gone to Whitehall and Windsor for spring and summer. I just found out that I have painful lumps in my breast. My doctor had informed that I would not much anytime long. In fact, if I am still alive as right now, it's a miracle but I will die at some point. I am sorry, Henry. I really loved you, I do. It seems the fate doesn't want us to be together for good. Lots of Love, Issie.
Henry read the letter over and again. He refused to believe that Isabella is going to die. He walked back and forth as he cannot get out of business that the politics require him to remain for a day.
"Your Majesty?" asked Henry's Lord Chancellor. Henry snapped out his thoughts.
"Is Isabella alive!?" barked Henry.
"I beg your pardon, Your Majesty. Who is exactly Isabella?"
"Lady Isabella Parr, the daughter of Sir Thomas Parr!"
Lord Chancellor just bent his head down as he is clueless about her fate.
"Your Majesty, I fear to say that Lady Isabella Parr's fate is unknown to me, however. If Your Majesty desires, I can find out for you."
"I don't give a damn! I will ride to Westminster Palace right now. You are in charge of them." snapped Henry. He marched out the room which he ordered for his horses to be ready. He rode out the palace and by the fortnight, he arrived Westminster Palace.
Isabella
"His Majesty has arrived at Westminster Palace!" shouted the announcer. Isabella was strolling in the garden with her younger siblings which Isabella knew that her lumps had become worse which she wanted to use up the precious time with her family.
"Izzy. What that mean?" asked William worriedly. He was too young to understand about the King's arrival.
"Will, the King is here. Remember to bow when you see him. Now, be a good boy." said Catherine who is now four and rather very smart for her age. Isabella smiled as she was proud of her half-sister. She just grabbed William's hand and kept strolling in the garden. Henry will have to get her for himself in private if he wishes to speak with her. She will not let Catherine and William to know that she is dying. She proceeds to enjoy the weather and their companies.
After walking in the garden for an hour, Henry had approached to her. Catherine pinched her younger brother to acknowledge his presence. It made Henry laugh.
"She will make a grand Queen one day." laughed Henry. It made Catherine to blush.
"Your Majesty, I'm honored, but I have not born a Princess."
Henry pinched Catherine's rosy cheeks, "I can see a lot of potential in you. I will make sure that you will marry my future son."
Catherine was flattered at the fact that Henry had informed that she will be a Queen someday.
"Your Majesty, how about me? Will I be a King?" asked William innocently. Isabella gently covered his mouth to stop him from speaking.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty."
Henry just laughed which he smiled, "I fear you will not be a King but you will make a fine husband, but now don't worry about your cute face."
William, happy with an answer which he lost interest and went off to chase butterflies.
Isabella chuckled as she watched William playing which she turned her attention to him.
"What brings you to Westminster Palace at this hour?"
Henry smiled, "Just to see you once again."
Isabella scoffed as she knew that Henry is not here to just see her once again. Henry was confused at her body language which Isabella grabbed Catherine and William's hands.
"It's getting late. Mum will be worried. Will you excuse us, Your Majesty?"
They stormed off, leaving Henry stunned at Isabella's action. He vowed to see her once again because he is not here for his entertainment's sake.
Henry
Henry walked back and forth in his privy chamber. He had fetched Isabella because he demands an explanation at her behavior and the illness. Isabella had been giving him a cold shoulder when they met once again in the garden. He just hoped that Isabella still loves him as much that he loves her. All these thinking made Henry goes crazy which he sat down and poured himself a cup of wine. He was on his third cup of wine when the servant had announced that Isabella refuses to see him.
"Hell's Teeth. I'm going to see Isabella. I don't give a damn that she's in her nightgown!"
He marched all way to Isabella's suite which he barged into her room. To his surprise, Isabella was fully dressed.
"Thou traitorous fen-sucked turd!"
Isabella twirled around which she crossed her arms.
"Is that appropriate way to address your mistress that you wished to marry many times? I think I deserve some respect."
Henry was too furious to accept his error.
"I DO NOT COME HERE FOR FUN! I'M HERE BECAUSE YOU APPEAR TO BE DYING, BUT YOU ARE NOTHING BUT LYING CUNT!"
Isabella just scoffed which she undressed her corset. Henry's jaws dropped to the ground. It was the first time ever to see her breasts in a long time. It was horribly misshapen with all the lumps.
Henry just began to cry, "Issie… I will find someone best for you to get rid of your lumps!"
Isabella frowned, "It will not going to work, Hal. You need to accept the reality."
Henry is still crying which he yelled, "I will get someone to get rid of it. You will not go to die!"
Isabella shook her head, "I am going to die whenever you like it or not. My mama had them and it killed her."
Henry still refused to accept the fact that Isabella would not be on this earth any much longer.
"I said that you will not go to die. I will find the cure then we will be together until we become old!"
Isabella scoffed as she gave up trying to argue with Henry. She grabbed the jewelry box, the only thing that belonged to her mother that survived the fire and threw at Henry.
"I said that there is no cure for this lumps. My mama died from them and I will die. End of discussion!"
The box missed Henry, but it end up hitting the wall, breaking the box into pieces. Henry screamed at the fact that he knew that it's special box belonged to Isabella. He quickly felt guilt as he watched Isabella burst into tears over the broken pieces. Filling with guilt, he proceeds to help her to clean up the pieces. He saw a white piece sticking out in the mini drawer. Filled with curiosity, he broke the drawer which he pulled out. It was pack of letters which he grabbed one of them and read,
May 22, 1503,
Dear my beautiful Princess Isabella,
I hope everything goes well at the countryside. If you haven't got the chance, please learn how to ride horses….
Henry trailed off which he torn the secret drawer apart as he gathered all the letters.
"Issie, these are letters that I wrote to you while you went to the countryside!" yelled Henry. Isabella grabbed them as she quickly read them. She developed anger inside her body. How dare her mother for stealing the letters for her when she thought that Henry had forgotten her whole time. She turned to Henry.
"That it is! I will never forgive my mama for lying to me the whole time and bring us nothing but a heartbreak. This is true love. We are meant to be together! Now, Henry. I don't want to die like my mama did because I do not deserve to die a painful death! Go find a cure for my lumps."
Henry proceeds to kiss her on the lips which it leads them to jump into Isabella's bed. He does not want to this to end.
