Ok, guys. Here's another chapter.

Read on~

I paced back and forth in front of the door as I pulled uncomfortably at my outfit. I was wearing a nice shirt with dark jeans, as it was the fanciest thing I owned, besides my suit.

Sollux was about to pick me up for our date. He was exactly seven minutes late, and still counting. Maybe he was backing out. Maybe he was just going to stand me up. Maybe he didn't like me. Maybe—

The doorbell rang, and I snapped my head up. Wiping my sweaty palms on my jeans, pocketed my wallet and phone, took a deep breath, and opened door. Sollux was standing there typing on his phone, but as soon as he heard the door open, he looked up quickly. Upon seeing me, a smile formed on his face. Of course, he had to ruin the moment by making a stupid comment.

"Thup, babe. You look hot."

I rolled my eyes as I exited the flat and locked my door. I noticed he didn't have his glasses on, which made me a smile a little. He took my hand, making my heart flutter, before he dropped it as we both got into the car.

I settled in and gave him a small smile as he backed up and started to drive down the street. We made small talk about the wedding party tomorrow and about things in each other's lives.

Once we got to the restaurant, we both got out. Sollux had reserved a table, so I followed him to a private but still brightly lit booth. I sat down and he slid in across from me. There was a vase with a few roses and a bottle of champagne.

"Ith thith romantic enough for you?" He raised an eyebrow at me, and I chuckled a little, inclining my head in a nod. His smile widened, and I had to smile back.

We made fun of each other teasingly and talked a bit more about the wedding before doing the first date routine.

"Tho, have any thiblinth (siblings)?" He questioned.

"Kankri's my older brother and also the biggest pain in the ass." I grimaced when he laughed.

He told me about his brother Mituna, and we continued to talk about ourselves. He told me he was an expert hacker and I told him I couldn't swim. Finally, we got to the topics of ex's.

"Aradia was the name of mine. We had a huge fight, and I told her the was dead to me. We stayed friendth though. Altho (also), Feferi, though she's more of ED'th friend than mine."

As Sollux talked, I could notice he was trying to hide his lisp, which made me laugh. I thought his lisp was actually kind of cute. I nodded and listened as he talked. When he mentioned Feferi, that brought me to another of my questions.

"So how do you know Eridan?" I asked him. he thought this over for a second as he took a sip of champagne. I nibbled on the bread from the basket we had gotten earlier.

"Oh, we had a fling in college and stayed friends." He answered. I could see the two of them sorta together.

"So, who have you dated?" He cocked an eyebrow. "That bi—girl in the dress who tried to lick you?"

I smirked at him. "Is that jealously I detect, Sol?" He scowled a little and replied with a huff. I chuckled.

"Yeah, that's Terezi. We dated for years until she dumped me for Strider, then he dumped her for John. John and I tried to date, but our relationship just screams 'friends,' so yeah." I shrugged. Nepeta had also made a move on me, but Equius had nearly killed me when I didn't return her feelings, so I backed off on that.

When the food came, I carefully ate my pasta, keeping an even balance of pasta, chicken, and bread. Sollux continued to sip champagne and ate his salad at a reasonable pace. He took several bites from me though, and we kept up the playful banter.

When we were both done, Sollux stood up. I blinked up at him in confusion.

"What about the bill?" I questioned. "I already paid." He smiled at me, offering his hand.

"You didn't have to, dumbass." I smiled slightly anyway and took his outstretched hand, standing up. We both headed out of the restaurant and back to the car.

"That was nice." I said after a pause. He nodded, and then leaned in.

He kissed me softly, sweetly, gently. I responded in the same manner, wrapping my arms around his neck. His hands rested on my hips as he lightly pinned my to the car. We both angled our heads to the side, deepening the kiss. I broke off for air, flustered. He also was blushing, but grinned a little, his pointy teeth revealed. We got into the car, and he drove me back home.

"Thank you." I said genuinely, smiling at him. He waved at me, and was about to leave when I whirled around and called, "Hey, wait!"

He rolled down the window and cocked an eyebrow at me.

"You used to have a silver car. Why did you change it to red?" I asked him.

"It matcheth your eyes." He said simply, a small smile gracing his lips. I could feel my face heat up. He had changed the color of his car just because he liked my eyes so much?

"Night, KK." He smiled as he drove away. I watched him until the red glow of his car had faded, then went back into my flat. I locked the door and collapsed on the couch.

I felt almost giddy with happiness as I smiled widely.

This whole dating thing was something I could get used to.
