Chapter 10

Yugoslavia found the world meeting building surprisingly easily. She had expected it to be harder since they were so deep in the forest and all.

"Hey, is anyone here?" Yugoslavia called wen she flung open the main doors. No one replied, so she shrugged and dashed up the stairs.

"I guess everyone is having a meeting. I will go look for them," France told Yugoslavia and left her. It was the last she saw of him for a while. Now to remember what room number was England's... 'It was 420E wasn't it? Yes, that is it,' Yugoslavia thought. She rounded a few corners and quickly found the room she was searching for. When she jiggled open the door, Yugoslavia found a cupcake and a note on the dresser. It read:

"To my dearest England. Love, Yugoslavia and friends "

Yugoslavia stared at it. She didn't recall giving that to England, and she certainly knew she did not write that note.

"She must have done it," Yugoslavia muttered bitterly. She turned around to face England's desk where a huge and tattered book was sitting on its surface. She scooped it up, and, careful to not let any of the papers slide out, she carried it out the door. She locked it behind her and ran downstairs.

"Yugoslavia! Yugoslavia!" Italy called from somewhere behind her.

Yugoslavia sighed, "What is it, Italy?"

"Did you a find my a fratello?" Italy asked. His face was so innocent and happy...

"Yes, Italy, we found them. They will get home very soon," Yugoslavia promised, not wanting to tell him about Romano. She trusted that England's magic worked, but bringing someone back from the dead was impossible probably even for him.

"Is a Romano okay?" Italy smiled.

Yugoslavia turned her head away, "I-I'm not sure Italy. I'm not sure."

"He will be back though, right?" Italy's smile had faded.

"He will come back, but he might not be okay," Yugoslavia replied.

"But he will return, right? He won't be like Holy Rome?" Italy trembled.

"I promise he will come back. I promise you," Yugoslavia couldn't bear to see the Italian so sad, "but you have to let me go back to them so he can return."

"Then go. I don't a want to a keep a you," Italy turned and left.

Yugoslavia nodded a goodbye and returned to her mission to bring back the spell book.

She was just entering the forest when Yugoslavia heard the crack of a gun. She almost dropped the spell book but caught it in time and broke into a run. Just about a minute into the forest, Yugoslavia crashed into someone. That someone immediately started jabbering about something.

"Repeat what you said, please," Yugoslavia grumbled and grabbed the spell book. Luckily, none of the papers had fallen out.

"We have to hurry, Yugoslavia! England was shot! You have to get him the book before he dies!" Malta waved her arms around like a crazy lunatic. What's to say she wasn't a crazy lunatic?

Wales rocked on her feet, "Hurry!"

Yugoslavia was back on her feet in an instant, "Okay, I'm coming!"

The three girls sped toward the battle scene as fast as they could. If they had gone any faster, they probably would have arrived before England was even shot.

"England, I have the book! What spell is it? What spell do I need to get out to heal you?" Yugoslavia set the book down next to the thick browed nation.

England croaked, "Page 7. It's about half way down the page in red ink. Just hand it to me when you find it."

"Okay. Is it the one that starts with the words-" England cut Yugoslavia off.

"Yes, that's it," he tugged at the book.

Yugoslavia helped him sit up and handed him the book. Spain was still trying to staunch the blood flow.

"Sit still," Spain complained.

Yugoslavia glared at him, "Okay."

"Malta, help the awesome me, would you?" Prussia called. Spain's 2p! had pinned him to the ground and was punching the daylights out of him.

"On my way!" Malta shouted and rushed over to aid him. Russia and Andorra were working together to fight 2p!Malta and 2p!France but were losing.

"Back up has come!" A new person shouted. Yugoslavia glanced up, hoping it was America, but it was quite the opposite. His 2p! and Canada's had joined them. Then came 2p!Romano and 2p!Italy followed by the 2p!s of the other two axis countries.

"We have to retreat!" Malta screamed.

Yugoslavia stared at her, "Right now? Without England and Romano?"

"We will outrun the 2p!s and come back for them. I promise. You and I can be the ones," Malta pulled her friend up to her feet.

"Okay, as long as we can come back," Yugoslavia began running away from the 2p!s. Wales watched her brother for a moment before following Yugoslavia.

Within minutes, the group of nations reached the world meeting building and ran inside. America was waiting by the door.

"Yugoslavia! Malta! Hurry up!" America ordered.

Malta shook her head, "We have to go back and get England and Romano!"

"Go back later!" America yelled.

"No, I promised Yugo that we would go back!" Malta argued.

"And I promised Italy I would bring Romano back!" Yugoslavia added. Before America could say anything else, the two girls had disappeared back into the forest.

Andorra grabbed America's shoulder, "What did you let them do? They will die out there!"

"I didn't let them," America protested, "they went on their own!"
