I have uploaded chapter 9 & 10 in the same 5 minutes, so make sure you read 9 first!

Thanks for sticking with me so far! This chap is super short, but the other was super long so it makes up for it. Ichigo's quote is up!

"Sometimes, things are so deafeningly loud that their completely silent."

"Put me down."

The kid was clenched to my chest and his voice came out more confused than assertive. I didn't listen as I continued through the halls with sodino. That is until I felt a bolt of reiatsu travel through my arm, surprising me enough to drop him. He was able to land in a crouched position, but he was standing straight in the blink of an eye.

"They could be hurt, Grimmjow-san. Ichigo Kurosaki passed out on the floor, Orihime Inoue was in tears, Ulquiorra-san seemed upset, and Szayel-san..." I could see the fear he tried to hide in his eyes. "Szayel-san's not himself. And we just ran away from the scene like cowards! We need to see if they need our help." He looked into my eyes with an intense, bluefire that told me I would be burned if I didn't agree with him. He seemed concerned for the humans, which I knew would happen, but mainly... He seemed concerned for Schiffer, Granz, and... Me. When I didn't respond, he glared at me with all his raw emotion. "I'll just find another way to get there." He turned to leave, but I grabbed his arm not so tight that it would hurt him, but tight enough for him to know that he wasn't going anywhere.

A look of utter hatred and abandonment entered his bluefire eyes as he glared holes into me.

"You being there would just make the situation worse. Gra-Szayel just lost his cool, but he's probably fine now. Sch-Ulquiorra is capable of taking care of the situation. You being there would just distract them from their jobs." His glare softened again, but, instead of pity, his face gained a look of pure misery.

"And the humans?"

"They'll be fine. They're stronger than they look."

He seemed to come to some sort of realization that upset him as he looked into my eyes with something more meaningful than I can interpret.

"Abarai didn't seem fine at all."

"Abarai?"

He seemed surprised and confused at the name even though he had just used it a second ago.

"Who's Abarai?"

"You were the one who mentioned him, not me."

Taking his glasses off, he rubbed at the bridge between his eyes.

"I guess I'm just a little tired. I didn't get much sleep last night."

He was lying, but not to me.

"I'll take ya to your room."

He was lying to himself.

"That seems like quite the mess, Sosuke."

"A perfect mess, I would say."

The audacity of this move is just ridiculous. It gives so much of his intentions away.

"So the little project you had Szayel working on involves Ichigo's Hollow form?"

His loud laugh rang throughout the large surveillance room.

"Oh, that project? I almost forgot about it. That is just a little thing eight is obsessed about. It ties to my project through the use of Uryu, but that isn't the main reason Uryu's here."

"Then what's the main reason?"

"You told me to keep my spoilers to myself, Gin."

You only don't tell me the things I need to know to plan my next move. For some reason, he has always approached battle like a giant game of chess. Studying the board and choosing his options with vast intelligence.

"King! Good ta see ya here again!"

I looked around and all I could see was skyscrapers and storm clouds. "Fucking get away from me." He was standing next to where I was laying.

"Stop that attitude."

Now I was pissed.

"Why did you do that?! I almost had him! We could have left once we had him!"

I was standing, violently grabbing his collar. He wasn't intimidated like I had wanted. Instead, he grabbed my robes like it was just a game.

"I don't think so, King. Little Quincy didn't look very happy to see you, in fact…" A feral grin spread across his colorless face. "He looked a little scared. That was quite a shock. The proud and bitchy pansy isn't normally scared that easily, but he almost pissed when he saw you!"

"Shut up, that was you!"

"No, that was your true ability to strike fear into anyone at any given moments."

I screwed my eyes shut as I lost my balance and fell through the sky.

"Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey!"

He never stopped mocking me as I continued to fall back to reality.
