Sick Day 2.
Summary: it is up to Ash to help a sick Serena, but there is only one small problem, no better make that one major problem, what that is, better to read and find out.
Ash: 19
Serena: 19
Walking into a full Pokemon Centre Ash and Serena. The raven haired trainer glanced over his shoulder to see Serena walking in slowly, "gees Serena you seem off colour," Ash announced quietly, he approached the young woman and placed his left hand over her forehead and then immediately pull his hand back in surprise, "wow Serena, you're burning up," Ash admitted while shaking his hand.
"No Ash, I am fine," Serena replied before fainting in front of Ash.
Ash kneeled next to Serena and picked her up, he walked into the nearest Pokemon Centre with Serena in his arms, "man she has been pushing herself too much," Ash whispered as he remembered the day he was sick, the day Serena helped him get better.
Ash walked through the main foyer, ignoring the people around him, he continued down towards the hallway, "Pikachu can you open the door?" Ash asked his partner pokemon. The small electric mouse opened the door and allowed his trainer, Ash slowly approached the bed and gently put Serena down on the matrass and placed the covers over her, "Serena, it's my turn now," Ash whispered in Serena's left ear.
Ash walked out with memories of Serena cooking food for him, "you know Pikachu, I might bake something for Serena," Ash announced his intentions to his first pokemon, Pikachu fell back after hearing his trainer declaring the plan, 'but I am not that good at it,' Ash thought as calmly as possible, thinking about the other times he had messed up when in the kitchen.
Meanwhile in the room Serena opened her eyes and looked around, "I am in the Pokemon Centre," Serena reminded herself as she tried to sit up, but felt the lack of energy. Serena sighed at the problem she was face, feeling dizzy she closed her eyes yet again, 'I guess I need to rest a bit,' Serena thought as she went back to sleep.
"Let's see, so I need to pre-heat the oven," Ash silently told himself as he followed the instructions, 'oh man, this is usually something Serena does,' Ash complained to himself. He walked around the kitchen getting what he needed to start cooking for Serena, to help her feel better from getting sick. He pulled out a book that he borrowed from Serena and started reading it, "so if I do this correctly, maybe I can impress her," Ash commented as his partner pokemon looked at him with an uneasy expression.
Ash turned the pages and started reading recipes, he nodded and started to gather the ingredients ready to make the cake for Serena, "so first I need to do this," Ash told himself, measuring the ingredients perfectly. He started to mix everything perfectly and without looking placed plain flour in the mix instead of self-rising flour, "alright that looks pretty good," Ash commented as he prepared the tin, 'this chocolate cake will be nice," Ash proudly commented as he placed the cake batter in the tin then into the hot oven.
"Now that will take some time, I better prepare the soup," the trainer commented as he grabbed a saucepan.
Back in the room Serena heard a knock on the door, thinking about how Ash was going to help her get better, 'this is either going to be really good, or it will flop, even I know Ash isn't all that good at baking or even cooking for that matter,' Serena thought as she saw Pikachu walking into her room, "oh hey Pikachu, so how is Ash going?" Serena asked before letting out a sneeze, "this flu is really annoying, but I guess I was pushing myself a little too much," Serena admitted to her boyfriend's starter pokemon.
Pikachu nodded at the young woman's comments as she looked towards the door, it was then the smoke alarms went off causing Serena to laugh a little, "I think I better teach him how to bake, next thing he might do is burn the place down," Serena started laughing, but knew she had to hold it back because Ash was only trying to do his best for her, 'I cannot laugh,' Serena thought as she slowly go up to see the people panicking from the fire alarm.
"Serena, the oven is on fire," Ash ran passed his girlfriend.
'Surely he isn't that bad in the kitchen,' Serena thought, doing her best to hold back her laughter, she tried her best to get out of the room which was filling up with smoke, still feeling a little sick from earlier in the day, 'well I was wrong, he set the kitchen on fire,' Serena thought with Pikachu in her arms.
Moments later and with the fire crews finishing their job at putting the fire out in the kitchen, "sorry Serena, I really wanted to help you get better like you did for me," Ash replied with humiliation.
"You know Ash, I think I might teach you how to bake," Serena replied while walking back in the Pokemon Centre.
Ash walked next to Serena and started to laugh at his own misfortune, "will you teach me Serena? I am really bad at baking," Ash replied as he walked to back to the kitchen to survey the damage he caused by accident, "well my cake is now a crisp and the soup is completely inedible," Ash reminded himself as he turned to head to Serena's room.
"So Ash is everything alright?" Serena asked while resting on the bed.
"I think I owe you another cookbook," Ash replied as he showed her the charred remains of the book.
Serena stared at the destroyed cookbook and smiled at the trainer, "don't worry about it Ash, I am just happy to know that you would do anything for me," Serena winked at Ash, starting to fall back to sleep, "even if it meant burning down the kitchen," Serena recapped the situation to Ash, much to his embarrassment.
"Thanks Serena, I will remember that comment," Ash retorted with a smirk.
Serena turned around and started to fall asleep, "even if you burned down the kitchen, I still appreciate the effort you made in trying to make me get better," Serena commented, she closed her eyes with a broad smile.
"Thanks Serena, I will leave the cooking and baking to you from now on," Ash promised his girlfriend with a submissive expression.
(2 days later)
Ash was sitting in the main foyer reading a magazine, it was middle of the day and his Pikachu, was sipping a bottle of ketchup, "I wonder how long it will take for this Pokemon Centre to repair my mess," Ash laughed at himself.
"Um Ash," a female voice called to Ash.
Ash closed the magazine and looked over his left shoulder, "oh Serena, you look a lot better now," Ash stated with great joy.
"Yeah I need to take it easy, would hate for me to get sick again," Serena replied cheekily. The young woman approached Ash confident to restart her journey, "where to now?" Serena questioned the trainer with a smile as she walked around to take a seat next to Ash.
"Well, I think we can have a few days off," Ash suggested, he put his right arm around Serena and pulled her in closer, "yeah a few days to help clean the mess I made," Ash joked.
Serena rested her head on his shoulder and smiled softly, "I will teach you how not to destroy a kitchen Ash," Serena replied.
"No that won't be needed, I think I had one too many bad experiences in the kitchen, I will leave it to you," Ash said, giving up about his ambition to cook for Serena.
"Oh come on Ash, I wouldn't expect you to give up that easily," Serena tried to comfort Ash, "I want to teach you how to cook, plus what could go wrong?" Serena asked Ash before kissing him on the cheek, returning her head to its original position and taking a deep breath with Ash looking down at her with a proud expression on his face.
Yeah what could go wrong, this nice short and sweet story was Ash trying to return the favour and failing big time, but still Serena appreciated it, I will do another story linked to this one.
