Ch. 10- On The Way To A New Job
It was growing late in the morning. Eve worked on the dishes in the sink as she looked out into the gray sky. The only other sound in the house was Bobby on the phone. She sighed as she wiped the last dish dry and put it away.
"We've got a case." he said as he came in.
"Huh?" she said turning to him.
"We've got a case." he repeated. "Pack up some warm clothes. We'll talk about it in the car."
"Alright." she replied. Then she walked up stairs and did as she was told. When she came down, Bobby was packing some stuff in a duffel bag. "I'm ready." she stated.
He lead her out to his car. As they drove off it was silent, but after they hit the highway Eve spoke up.
"So this case"
"It's a weird one. Four people have gone missing in a week. All of then on the same slop. We're going to Libby, Montana."
"What do you think it is?"
"Well the friend I talked to said this hasn't ever happened before, so it doesn't seem to be a Wendigo. I don't think this would be vampires. It's definitely not a werewolf."
"What about a ghost? Maybe some one died up there, and is pissed off about it. The apocalypse is really getting things jumping."
"That's a possibility. An old woman died up there several months ago, but the cabin she lived in has been rented out several times since she died. And none of the missing people were staying in that cabin."
"So?"
"So I rented the cabin. We'll stay in it till we solve this case."
"Great!" she said sarcastically. Bobby shot her an annoyed look. She slumped in her seat, and looked away. Soon she was fast asleep.
Suddenly she was surrounded by white. She trudged through the deep white snow as flurries fell all around her. She felt the icy wind blow past her. She pulled her jacket in tighter to her body. She could hardly see the trees that laid on each side of the path. Yet in the midst of all the white she came to a cave. She went in. As she walked through the growing darkness, it began to grow lighter. She felt the slight warmth of a fire. As she slowly rounded the corner she saw two woman and a little boy huddled in a corner. In front of them was a motionless man. She looked to the other side of the room. A fierce roar erupted. In that moment she snapped wake.
"Eve?!" called Bobby shaking her. "Are you okay?!" he asked. She was still shivering from the coldness of the dream, and she looked bewildered.
"I'm fine. It was just a dream." she replied. She put her hands to the vents which blew out hot air. He looked at her a couple of times before he went back to focusing on the road.
"Are you getting hungry?" he asked.
"Yes." Eve took the map of where they were. "There's a dinner coming up. It will be on the left."
"Well, I was going to offer you a tuna sandwich!" he snapped. Eve's nose crinkled at the sound. "Don't give me that look!"
"I don't like tuna." she said bluntly.
"You don't like tuna?"
"I don't like tuna."
"Fine!" Eve smiled in victory. "I guess I could use a break from driving anyway."
Soon they came to the small dinner. They entered and sat down at a booth. After they had a warm meal the two paid and left. It was at lest another four hours till they would reach Libby.
Author's Note: I want to know who you guys think Eve should be with. Should she be with playboy Dean or angel Castiel? Who and why? Hope you're enjoying the story. Thanks for the kind reviews.
