I am sorry that I haven't been updating. I really have bad writers block for this story. I mean I have kinda an idea but bare with me please. I am rewatching the movie as I type this. I am just nervous how this story would turn out exactly. I hope you guys like :)
I felt a light shake to my shoulder. I moaned, "Bilbo, for the last time I just want to sleep."
I heard some chuckles around me. Am I naked? Or... did something happen? I opened my eyes seeing a rather thin lipped Bilbo and two chuckling dwarves. Oh yeah... We are on an adventure. I wanted to go on this adventure for it's out of norm of Hobbits...even for the elves. I stretched, "What?"
Bilbo rocked on his feet, "Come along Adalynn, we are starting to move. You're the only one who isn't up yet."
I looked around and saw some dwarves packing up the supplies. I sighed sitting up, "Can we take a break?"
Thorin heard my question and gruffly answered, "No. We have no time for breaks. Get up on your feet."
Bilbo turned to Thorin and gave him a look. Fili held out his hand. I grasped his hand and he pulled me up. I turned to pack my mat and bag for our travels. Kili nudged me whispering, "Don't worry about Uncle Thorin. He can get a bit grumpy at times."
I gave a light nod but I know that tone very well. The tone of you are not wanted. My aunt and uncle of both sides of family used the tone. Papa and Mama reassured me that they cannot handle different and different is good. Sometimes I wish I was one or the other so I do not get treated that way when we used to visit. I placed my pack on my back and caught up with the others. Kili and Fili were about to pick me up to join one of them on their pony but I moved away from their grasps. Both of them frowned. Bilbo who was on his pony frowned noticing the way I was acting. He spoke up, "Hey Adalynn would you like to ride with me instead?"
I mentally shook my head to stop staring into space. My eyes met his brown eyes, "I am fine Bilbo. I rather walk."
Bilbo knows what is happening. He sighed turning forward, "Okay well then I guess you should walk. I know how much you are burdening us right now by just being here but you're adding much burden on us right now by walking."
Kili and Fili called Bilbo out, "Oi! She isn't a burden!"
I adjusted my pack not saying anything. Bilbo went at it again, "Oh yes she is. Even Thorin has said so. Most of the dwarves had said so while Adalynn went to sleep."
I frowned. I caught up with Bilbo's pony and he held out a hand. He pulled me up onto his pony behind him. I rested my head on his shoulder, "You're mean Bilbo."
He whispered to me, "You're not a burden. No one has said any of that. I just wanted you on the pony. I know something is bothering you."
I gave a light nod. I hugged Bilbo's waist as he lead the pony to follow the group. I whispered, " Aunt Cornelia and her little family and my Aunt Andreanne and her family used that tone Thorin used... The tone of not wanting you here. My family of both sides used that tone as I'm a halfbreed. The only person who accepted me was grandfather. You accepted me. Kili and Fili accepted but on false terms as they think I'm half human and hobbit..."
I felt his hand go ontop of my own. He gave my hand a light squeeze. He spoke, "No worries Adalynn."
Rain poured upon our bodies. My hair started to turn into curls with a light hint of straightness. I sighed. This is not what I expect the adventure to be. All we have been doing is riding our ponies all over the land. Not one thing has happened that can be exciting. I rested my head on Bilbo's back. I drowned out the dwarves' and Bilbo's chatter towards Gandalf. I mumbled, "All we have been doing is going across the land. When is there any excitement?"
Apparently Bilbo heard me as he spoke up, "Don't be ridiculous, Adalynn. This is quite fine."
I groaned sitting up. I tapped his back, "We have been riding ponies for days and now we are stuck in rain fall. I am sure some of us may get sick as this weather isn't lighting up."
Gandalf glanced behind him towards me, "Miss Adalynn, you should be patient and it is best to avoid any trouble along the way."
I buried my face back into Biblo's wet back. My hair started to stick in front of my face. There is no way this weather is going to light up. I yawned. Bilbo spoke up, "Go to sleep Adalynn. We will find a spot to camp. Just for the time being, go to sleep."
I mumbled, "I'll try... Not that easy with rain pouring down."
I felt Bilbo sigh. Yep this is starting to get boring.
I felt a shake to my body. A voice started to wake me up, "Lynn wake up. We found a camping spot."
I moved but apparently I moved to the side and started to fall off the pony. I felt arms cradle my body. I am now wide awake as the adrenaline rush kicked in when I started to fall. I blinked at my savor. Kili. I gave a sheepish smile, "I'm sorry Mr. Kili."
Kili walked with me in his arms, "You're alright. You just had a rude of awakening which startled you."
I gripped onto his jacket that dried up. I don't want to fall. I felt his body chuckle. I looked back up at him, "What?"
He teased, "I'm not going to drop you. Unless you want me to then I could."
I shook my head gripping tighter onto him, "I'm good, thank you."
I looked around at the others who were setting up camp. Thorin was talking with Gandalf well it looks like Gandalf is leaving actually. Where is he going? Thorin looked over at the two of us. He already has the look of disapproval. I looked up at Kili touching his chest gently, "Mr. Kili... I'm good. You can let me down now."
Kili looked confused, "But you're cold."
This time I looked confused. I questioned him, "Am I?"
Kili nodded as he sat down on the ground next to the now burning fire. He pulled me close, "You need to warm up or you will get sick like you said earlier."
I felt my cheeks start to flush. Thorin walked over. His voice was gruff walking off to look at what the others were doing, "Fili, Kili watch the ponies."
Kili looked up at his uncle, "But uncle, she is going to get sick."
Thorin stopped looking back at Kili, "Ponies. She is fine."
Fili looked between Thorin and Kili. Fili's lips went into a straight line as he walked over to Kili. Fili held out a hand whispering, "Let's not anger Uncle. Come on, Bilbo and the others will take care of her. I'm sorry Addie."
I wiggled out of Kili's grip. I sat down on the ground pulling my legs close to my chest. I gave a little wave, "Go on. Follow your uncle's orders. I'll be fine...Kili... really I'll be fine..."
Kili stared at me. He gave a small smile, "Okay Lynn. We'll be back for dinner."
I gave both dwarf brothers a look, "You two better be here for dinner."
Fili gave a big smile, "Of course!"
Fili dragged his brother away as Dori sat down next to me. He gave me a friendly smile, "I couldn't over hear but Kili may think you're sick?"
I shrugged, "I don't feel different..."
Dori scooted closer, "May I?"
I gave a nod. He placed a hand on my forehead. He frowned, "You do seem cold... But that may be a reaction to the cold rain... I'll keep on checking up on you to make sure you don't progress into a fever."
I gave a soft smile, "Thank you... errr... what is your name again?"
Dori smiled, "Dori. My name is Dori. Now stay by the fire while Bombur and Bofur go out for food."
I tried to speak that it is supposed to be my job along with Bombur but Dori already stood up and checked on his siblings. I rested my chin ontop of my knees. The fire blazed as light black smoke rised to the sky. I knew something like this would happen since we were in the rain...
