Gura Gura Luffy Chapter 10 Alabasta part 1
First of all I apologise for the delay in publishing but I had some health problem in march that kept me from writing and college and I had to catch up to what I missed in april leaving me with little to no time for writing.

F-ckthesystem125 : You are right I forgot that part of the arc, but this arc is one of my least favourite grandline arc, I hope Alabasta will feel less rushed even if I don't show everything like the trek in the desert.
Lightningblade49 : glad you liked and yes I have something in mind for Sophia, by the time we reach redline she will be quite the powerhouse and one of the Straw hat most powerful fighter.

In the end Carue was alright and after they thawed him off, he was glomped by Vivi who didn't want her duck to die frozen; the swordsmen were given quite an evil glare after that little tidbit.
After that the going Merry was ready to set sail direction Alabasta Kingdom.
Now
The way to Alabasta was calm in slightly over crowded ship but they made with what room they had even if it wasn't much. Soon you could see some of the boys trying to fish in order to have something fresh in their plates during meal. But sadly whether it be because of bad luck, bad skill or simply a lack of patience no fish were caught by our trainee fishermen.
In their deluded mind they didn't caught anything because they had no worthy bait so they decided to brainstorm a bit and reached to the conclusion that fish ate meat and as so they needed to have fresh meat as bait.
Luffy, the meat-lover would never part with the meat that was in the pantry so that left either Chopper or Carue and as the little reindeer was the head Doctor of the ship, he couldn't logically serve as bait much to his relief.
Therefore Carue the duck was declared Bait for the fish by Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, Johnny and Yosaku, Zoro would have been able to keep them from making such a mistake but the guy was asleep somewhere on the ship and as Sanji was busy in the kitchen, Nami and Nojiko busy in the office where all the maps and the wheel were, Kaya in the infirmary trying to work on a test that Chopper gave her to evaluate her medical skill, Sophia and Marie getting to know each other in the girls room and Alvida and Makino at the table reading books and the news with Vivi trying to comfort the princess.
The fishermen tied the poor duck to their fishing rod and used it as bait.
After a while they were surprised to have caught something that was grabbing the duck as if Carue was his lifeline.
It was huge for a fish; it was Pink not a usual fish color and most of all it was neither male nor female: it was an Okama.
Startled by the Okama's appearance the fishermen screamed and let go of their fishing rod letting the duck and the Okama fall back into the sea.
Nami, Nojiko, Alvida, Makino and Vivi went to see what happened along with Zoro who was woken up by the scream.
The guys then retrieved their fishing rod along with Carue and the Okama.
Seeing that Carue was used as bait Vivi was angered and scolded the boys along with Makino who was mostly disappointed that they didn't think about this long enough.
Meanwhile Nami scolded Zoro for sleeping on the job, seeing it was his turn to make sure that the idiots didn't do anything wrong.
Meanwhile the Okama regained consciousness and realizing he wasn't in the sea anymore, he went down on his knees in front of his saviors.
"Thank you I thought I was gonna drown in there!" said the Okama still on his knees
"Why would you drown?" asked the sisters for the crew.
"Why indeed, it is because I ate an Akuma no mi!" exclaimed the Okama, happy to be the center of attention.
At his words the more childish of the crews got wide eyes in wonder while the more serious narrowed their eyes in thought.
"Which one?!" asked/yelled Usopp and Chopper.
"The mane mane no mi!" replied the transvestite.
"What does it do?" asked Chopper his head tilted to the side like a curious animal, the women had to resist the urge to glomp him while screaming kawai.
"Here let me show you!" said the Okama before he punched an unsuspecting Usopp in the face with his right hand.
Seeing this all the crew tensed and got ready for a fight, Zoro drew one of his sword, Alvida her club, Nami, her staff, Nojiko one of her numerous guns and Luffy had a quake aura around his right fist.
"Usopp!" screamed Chopper running to check up on his friend as the doctor on deck.
"Whoa calm down I don't want to fight. I just wanted to show you my abilities." said the pink wearing transvestite throwing his hands in the air showing he wasn't here for a fight, he then lowered is right hand near his face "When I touch someone with my right hand and then touch my face with it I can take someone's appearance." and sure enough as soon as his right hand touched his face his face turned into Usopp's., even his voice changed into Usopp's.
"Now when I touch my face with my left hand I turn back into normal." said the Usopp's face wearing Okama as he touched his face with his left hand to turn back into his makeup covered goofy normal Okama's face.
He then proceeded to touch everyone faces and made a show turning into everyone to the delight of Usopp, Chopper, Johnny and Yosaku, Luffy was a little interested but as Makino was already disappointed in him he didn't want to make it worse by behaving like a child he wasn't supposed to be since he decided to be a pirate captain.
The Okama stopped when he wore Nami's face to whisper/ask "Even my body changes to match the face wanna see?" he then opened the pink coat he wore giving all a free show.
The boys were all starring wide eyed at Nami's breasts that were bare for everyone to see, the world stood still for a moment.
Meanwhile in the kitchen.
Sanji stopped in midst of preparing lunch 'I feel like something is happening that I would die to see... Nah must be the marimo getting his ass handed over by Nami-chwan!'
Back on deck.
Nami getting over her shock roared in righteous female fury and proceeded to get the pervert the beating he deserved with the help of her sister, Alvida, Vivi and Makino. That, gentlemen, is called female solidarity.
The boys were still in shock and some of the oldest even had blood slowly leaking from their noses. Suddenly Johnny shook his head clear and horror could be seen on his face, he quickly hit his buddies gathered them in a close circle and whispered "Technically that thing is a guy, meaning we just got flashed by a guy, and we liked it..."
All the boys that understood Johnny's words slowly started to turn green and went to puke overboard. (Nothing against gay it seemed funny)
After the women finished their trashing and the boys got over their naughty thoughts, the okama then started to switch between several other faces that he claimed to have memorized, one of which shocked Vivi to her core only Makino and Luffy seemed to have caught Vivi's feeling over the matter.
The okama suddenly saw his ship coming to look for him so with tears in his eyes he went up on the railing and said "My friends thought the time together was short, I think of you as my friends so I hope we will see each other some time."
He then jumped on his boat and ordered his men to set sail.
"Yes Mr. 2 Bon Kurei-sama!" answered the sailors shocking the straw hat pirates.
'That was Mr. 2!' thought everyone on deck.
"Ah I remember hearing that Mr. 2 was alone because he was a huge Okama wearing a pink coat that said ''Okama Way'' on the back." exclaimed Vivi as she remembered what she heard about Mr. 2.
"YOU REMEMBER SOMETHING THAT IMPORTANT ONLY NOW!" shouted the pirates shocked that the princess could forget something as important as Mr. 2 identity.
"What happened?" asked the crew members that weren't there.
Alvida told them what went down on the deck for the past half hour.
"WHAT YOU SAW MR 2!" yelled the former Baroque Works officer shocked and glad that they weren't there to be recognized as they were marked for death by their former organization?
"WHAT YOU SAW NAMI-CHWAN NAKED AND YOU DIDN'T CALL ME?! TRAITORS!" roared the perverted cook furious that his fellow males didn't have the decency to call him to see this vision of heaven.
And then the girls could pass their nerves on another pervert.
A while later a bumpy black and blue Sanji served drinks while the crewmembers thought about a way to recognize an eventual impostor.
"Still that was kind of a blessing we are now warned that one of them has that abilities so we can think of a way." grumbled Zoro not happy to have been woken by such a thing.
"What about..." started Makino before whispering the rest in Zoro's ear
"Great we will do that!" said Zoro.
Meanwhile Luffy was watching Vivi who wasn't really with them.
"Who did you see?" asked the concerned captain.
"What do you mean?" asked a bewildered Vivi who didn't expect Luffy to pick up on her discomfort.
"I may be an idiot sometimes but I am not blind, while Mr. 2 showed us the faces he memorized you froze when you saw one so let me ask you who was it?" said Luffy.
"My Father... I wonder what that means... What does Baroque Works want what is Crocodile's endgame? The fact that someone can wear my father's face worries me." replied Vivi concerned for her country wellbeing.
"Don't worry we will kick Crocodile's ass and save your country, you are ok with that?" asked Luffy to cheer his crewmember up.
"Yes captain!" replied Vivi smiling once more.
"Great you should smile more..." started Luffy before going to see his other crewmembers to see what they thought about Mr. 2's power.
Vivi meanwhile was as red as a tomato.
After some day of planning the Going Merry was finally in sight of Alabasta's biggest port city Nanohana.
It was decided that to avoid detection by Baroque works agents and the Marine they would dress as locals to blend in, Sanji was the one that was charged with procuring the disguises, Chopper, Usopp and Kaya would restock the ship Medical supply, Nami, Nojiko and Zoro would restock the pantry, Johnny, Yosaku, Vivi and Carue would stay in the ship while Luffy, Alvida, Sophia and Mary were to stay put but Luffy smelt meat and so went to look for a meat restaurant followed by his three crewmembers.
Inside Nanohana in a meat restaurant a bare chested man wearing black shorts, black boots, an orange hat and a huge purple tattoo on his back who appeared be dead, his face planted in his plate.
"What the-is he dead...?" asked a random bystander.
The owner started sweating as it was very bad for business to have a customer die while eating in a restaurant.
Suddenly the man woke up and resumed eating as if nothing ever happened, the bystanders were surprised and relieved seeing that the man was in good health but they were still curious as to why he was seemingly dead to the world not a minute ago. Their chatter was interrupted by a voice coming from behind them.
"Well, What business does Whitebeard's second fleet's commander have in this part of Grandline?"
The bystanders were gently pushed apart as the owner of the voice walked through them to be just behind the man he identified to be part of the Whitebeard pirates.
Said man turned on his seat to gaze at the one that dared to interrupt him during his meal only to find an unknown at least to him Marine captain.
Meanwhile somewhere in the city with Luffy, Alvida, Sophia and Mary.
The three girls tried their best to keep Luffy in their sights, while the straw-hat wearing teenager was normally easy to handle, however the captain was currently hungry and in dire need of meat and he just happened to catch the smell of a roasted meatloaf when they landed here.
As the smell grew stronger the closer they got to the restaurant the harder it was for the girls to contain Luffy's excitement in order to remain discreet.
The tremor user not being able to contain himself any longer came up with a new technique when he concentrated a quake bubble on one of his feet as he positioned his body like a sprinter.
"Gura no hiyaku!" said Luffy as he made the quake bubble detonate propelling himself forward at a great speed.
The three girls totally stunned by Luffy's action had to shake themselves in order to react and run after their crazy captain.
Back in the restaurant.
"Me?! I am just looking for my little brother, last I heard he was going to end up here but what about you, you aren't the officer usually stationed here?." said the bare chested man not worried to be in the presence of a Marine officer despite being a pirate.
"You are in no position to ask me any question but as I am going to arrest you I guess I can humor you, I am in pursuit of a pirate and followed him here but then I saw you and thought why the hell not I will kill two birds with one stone and arrest both my intended target and you. But what was that about you having a brother Hiken no Ace, why isn't the world government aware of this?" said captain Smoker to both Ace and himself.
Suddenly Ace saw something from behind Smoker looking quite delighted he just to time to say "Lu..." before he along with Smoker were sent crashing inside the restaurant and through some walls by the UFO.
"Ossan give me meat!" ordered Luffy for it was him that crashed into both Ace and Smoker.
"Boy do you have any idea about who you crashed into?" asked the owner not believing that someone could be so ignorant.
At this moment the three girls came in and when they saw the state of the restaurant they bowed and said in stereo "We apologize for the trouble he no doubt caused, he will of course pay you for the damage, sir!" the last part was accompanied by a glare sent Luffy's way.
Not seeing any meat coming, as the owner was too shocked to react, Luffy helped himself with the one already present.
Meanwhile with Zoro, Nami and Nojiko.
The three pirates did what they had to do without drawing attention to themselves and they were about to go back to the ship when Zoro noticed the heavier than normal marine presence in the city.
"Something's not right, they are a lot more Marines here than normal for a city of this size, I don't like it, we should hurry." whispered the swordsman while praying that Luffy would stay discreet.
"Lieutenant Tashigi we lost captain Smoker in the city." yelled a Marine causing the straw hat to freeze.
'They followed us here?!' thought the three pirates before hightailing it out of here back to the ship.
They somehow met with Sanji, Chopper, Usopp and Kaya, they proceeded to explain the situation to them and that they had to find Luffy and the rest fast in other words before Luffy inevitably drew all the attention to him.
Near the restaurant.
"Who the hell was that?" asked Smoker as he got up after being smashed through three walls, he then proceeded to head back towards the restaurant to give the public danger a piece of his mind.
"That damm idiot I will teach him to smash me through three walls." grumbled Ace as he too got up and started to head back towards the restaurant.
Back in the restaurant.
Luffy was happily munching on the meatloaf untouched by the previous customer completely ignoring the glares that his three female crewmembers sent him.
'We were supposed to be discreet!' thought Alvida as she glared at her captain/crush.
'Who the hell taught him that!?' wondered Sophia as she too glared at Luffy.
Somewhere else in the Grandline a vice admiral sneezed.
"Everything is alright Vice admiral?" asked a random marine.
"Yes a pretty girl must be thinking about me Bwahahahaha!" laughed the vice admiral.
Back in the restaurant
'That was kind of fun.' thought Mary but she glared at Luffy to not be yelled at by the other girls.
At this moment Luffy rose his head and looked around him frowning he then locked eyes with Smoker as the marine captain turned around the corner looking flushed and quite angry.
"MUGIWARA!" yelled the marine officer like a man possessed launching himself at Luffy.
"Crap Smokey..." moaned Luffy as he knew that meant no more meat for him while he dodged Smoker's lunge.
The pirate captain then grabbed the meat in one hand his three stunned crewmembers in the other and ran away saying "Thanks for the meat old man!"
"Mugiwara!" roared Smoker before running in pursuit of his prey.
With The group of Zoro, Sanji and Usopp.
The seven pirates were quietly heading back to the boat when they heard a commotion in one of the street.
With a certain feeling that they knew the cause they slowly turned to face the commotion and sure enough Luffy with Alvida, Sophia and Mary in tow were running towards them.
"Help a crazy man chasing us, Help! Rape!" shouted Mary using her little girl charm to gain some help from the locals.
Every one stared open mouthed at the words coming from the young girl mouth, the pirates didn't know what to do neither did the Marines, but the locals when they saw Smoker looking everything like her description: a crazy man chasing them, decided to intervene.
"Say young man what were you going to do to this charming little girl." said a strong looking man pointing to Mary who looked like a scarred little girl making puppy eyes at the citizens.
Smoker caught completely unprepared stared at the local man with no idea of what to say to innocent himself.
Taking Smoker's silence for guilt the man gathered the other local around them.
"You scumbag I will see that you rot in prison you disgusting child rapist!" said the man.
"No wait it's a misunderstanding I was chasing a pirate." said Smoker finally coming out of his loss of words.
"Yes and I am a Tenryubito. Ah please sir this man was pursuing a little girl luckily she screamed for help and we were able to intervene." said the citizens leader first to Smoker to state that he clearly didn't believe him and then to one the king's law officer who decided to bring Smoker away to question him.
The marines finally coming out their shock followed after the citizens and the king's men to help their captain.
Once they left the pirates gathered together and looked at Mary with wide disbelieving eyes except for Sophia whose eyes somehow looked proud and Luffy who had mirth dancing in his eyes at the thought of Smoker being accused of something illegal.
Just as the straw hat pirates were about to depart they were interrupted by a roar of laughter coming from one of the nearby roof.
"Bwahahahaha Getting a marine captain arrested by local law officers Hahahaha! priceless wait 'till I tell the others Hahahahahaha!" laughed Ace from the roof he was hiding on.
"Who the hell are you?!" asked Nami who wanted to leave quickly before the local let the Marine free to try to catch them again.
"Ace!?" said Luffy in disbelief.
"Yo Luffy!" replied the bare chested man as he came down the roof having recovered his breath after the laugh he had at the marine expense.
"You know him?!" asked Zoro to his captain.
"Yes that's my brother." replied the straw hat wearing captain.
"Brother?" asked Nojiko looking quite interested in Ace.
"Not to be the killjoy but can you continue discussing by the ship I want to be far away when the marine will come back." said Nami.
"Yes you are right, as always Nami-chwan!" said Sanji not liking the looks Nojiko sent towards Ace.
The pirates then returned on their ship and Ace went to find his striker, he then returned on his little brother's ship to catch up with him.
Almost the whole crew was on the bridge except Makino who was still inside when Ace came back.
The brother's then spoke to one another in order to catch up to what happened since Ace left Dawn Island. The crew were a little curious about that guy Ace who claimed to be Luffy's brother so they listened to their discussion and were flabbergasted to hear that Ace was known as Hiken no Ace and most of all as one of Whitebeard's pirate, they were puzzled when neither of them heard Luffy mention Makino.
"So that's what happened since I left, I see, nice first bounty by the way Little bro but you will never be able to catch up to me." teased Ace.
"Oh yeah you wanna bet on that, I bet that by the time I reach Redline my bounty will be as high as yours." replied Luffy to his brother's teasing causing Nami who overheard to pale as she didn't want Luffy to be so infamous since that meant stronger marines to face.
"You are on but what will you bet huh ah I know if I win you join my crew and you must go tell Jiji about it." said Ace thinking that his brother would never agree to bet his dream to be the pirate king.
"All right since I don't want to be dead how about that if you win Me and my crew that will surely grow by the time will join your crew but if I win you will join mine." replied Luffy shocking althe entireavesdropper and his brother.
'What the hell!' though the crew 'did he just bet that he will join Whitebeard if he hasn't reach his brother's bounty by the time we reach redline'
"If you are sure how will we do this ah I know how about me and my ship will wait for you and yours on the other side of Redline then we will see who will have won our little bet." said Ace still a little shocked and extending his hand.
"That's all right." replied Luffy as he shook his brother's hand sealing the deal, all excited at the idea of his brother joining him.
Hearing the feeling in the voice of Luffy the crew thought 'Pheww he must know that his brother's bounty his easily available for him to attain... Right?'
"By the way How high is your bounty?" asked Luffy with a big D smile.
'What the hell?!' thought the eavesdroppers.
"550,000,000 berries." replied Ace not bothered by the fact that Luffy entered a bet without knowing all the details.
'What the fuck?!' thought the eavesdroppers already thinking that they were doomed to join Whitebeard's crew but after thinking about that fact it occurred to them that only Luffy's dream was on the line since every of their goals or dreams didn't depend on which crew they were a part of.
"So how about I meet all your crewmembers to see who will join Whitebeard's later." said Ace.
"Dream on." replied the little brother as he lead his older sibling to where the crew were.
Luffy then introduced his crew to his older brother one by one.
"That's Zoro, he is the first mate he is very good with swords he uses three of them." said Luffy pointing at Zoro who nodded to Ace showing his respect for the strong man Ace was.
"That's Nami she is the navigator, she can control the weather and is very greedy." at his words Ace rose an eyebrow and Nami looked both furious and embarrassed.
"That's Nojiko, she is Nami's older sister she pilot the ship under Nami's direction." Ace simply smirked and flirted a little with the blue haired woman.
"That's Usopp his father is Yasopp one of Shanks' men he is a very skilled sharpshooter like his old man." Usopp blushed at his captain's praise.
"That's Kaya Usopp's girlfriend she is a doctor in training and she makes magic with herbs." both Kaya and Usopp blushed like tomatoes.
"That's Johnny and his buddy Yosaku they are Zoro's students and serve as bodyguard to our guests and our other non combatant members." Zoro simply smirked hearing that Johnny and Yosaku glared at their captain but didn't say anything because it was true.
"That's Sanji he the best cook and kicks harder than jii-chan punches but he is also a huge pervert." causing Sanji to scream "Not true I am a gentleman!" and Ace to look at the cook with wide eyes.
"That's Alvida she likes treasure and she likes to hit me with her club." Alvida blushed at his words but oddly didn't complain as Luffy didn't mention her previous appearance.
"That's Chopper, he is our crew head doctor and is teaching Kaya all he knows." Chopper did his happy dance causing Sophia to squeal saying "Cute!"
"That's Sophia she makes the best chocolate cake ever!" Ace seemed to drool at his brother's words.
"That's Mary she is our new member she likes to paint and as you saw she can be very helpful with Marines." the little girl didn't react much.
"That's Vivi she is our guest for now but I hope once we help her she will agree to stay with us, she is pretty when she smiles." Vivi blushed and Ace got a teasing glint in his eyes.
"Is that all? I must say that you have quite a crew little bro." asked Ace impressed by the people that joined his little brother.
"No I have a surprise for you stay here." said Luffy before going inside the ship.
With his little brother gone for the moment Ace bowed to the crew
"I thank you for taking care of my brother for me I know he can be quite a handful sometimes, I hope that he didn't go overboard?"
"No he didn't!" replied the group as one.
"I see my lessons weren't for nothing..." said Makino causing Ace to freeze in shock.
The fire logia slowly started to turn hoping he was dreaming. 'What is she doing here? She is supposed to be in Dawn island taking care of the tavern.'
"Ma...Makino?! You are here but what about the..." stuttered the shocked Ace.
"I left it in Dadan's good hands." replied a smug looking Makino.
'This woman is evil!? I never would have made the bet for the crew if I knew she was there! Now she will terrorize Pops Marco and the others and they will soon sing to her tune What have I done?!' "Dadan good to hear..." said Ace looking very uncomfortable with Makino here.
The poor man still remembered her terrible lessons in good manners.
Flashback Dawn Island 4 years ago a year before Ace's departure.
A younger looking Ace was in Fushia town looking for Makino.
"Makino where are you Makino?!" yelled the teenager he finally found her in her bar.
"Ah Makino! Teach me good manners!" demanded Ace.
"Why would you want that?" asked Makino
"Because I will soon leave the Island and I am sure I will meet Shanks and I want to be able to thank him properly, because he was the one that gave Luffy his dream." replied the teenager.
"Fine but remember you are the one who asked for it." said Makino agreeing to teach Luffy's brother.
A little later still in Makino's bar.
"So Imagine I am Shanks and you want to introduce you." said the teacher.
"Yo I'm Ace, pirate, thank you for giving Luffy hope." said Ace thinking that was the correct way then faster than could be expected Makino grabbed a bar of soap, brought Ace close to a sink and proceeded to clean Ace's mouth with the soap over the sink ignoring Ace cries for mercy.
"The correct way is : Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening I am sorry to bother you, my name is Ace and I am a pirate I would like to thank you for giving my brother Luffy hope." taught Makino while still cleaning Ace's mouth.
Flash back end.
Even now Ace still feared that bar of soap, so it was no surprise he shivered when Makino was close to him.
"Tell me it is nice of you to check on your brother but why are you here?" asked the bartender.
"Ah I am searching for someone that killed a member of the crew so I must catch him and bring him to justice." explained Ace.
The bare chested man then tore a small piece of paper from a bigger one and gave it to Luffy.
"Here now you will be able to find me once you reach the other side of Redline, it was great seeing you Luffy but I must go on, we will see each other later." said Ace as he went to leave but not before sending a wink to Nojiko.
Just as he was about to leave Makino grabbed him in tight hug and whispered to him "If by anyway you are killed I will find a way to resurrect you only to kill you again and again are we clear?"
"Crystal!" said the young man before he was finally able to leave.
Some Baroque Works ships tried to catch him but he just sank them with a cry of "Hiken!"
Once Ace left the crew gathered together to discuss about where to go next and what to do.
Vivi wanted to go to Yuba to speak with the rebel leader as she knew him before and so she will be able to reach him, but both Sophia and Mary shook their head no at this idea.
"It isn't that I don't want you to succeed because I do, it is just that I know how Baroque Works act so I wouldn't put it past them to keep you and the leader apart by any means necessary even harming one of you to do so." explained Sophia while Mary nodded yes all along.
"So What do I do because I won't let my country fall in ruin." replied the princess.
"Of course not but let me ask you would the rebel shoot Carue or not?" asked Alvida.
"I don't know why?" replied Vivi.
"Because you could have used him to send a message to the rebels telling them Crocodile was behind all this." replied the treasure hunter, only for Mary to shake her head.
"That won't work for one we don't even know if the rebels will shoot Carue on sight or no but also there is the fact that this duck was identified by Baroque Works as working with Vivi so if they see him near the rebels they could try to kill him, but if they see him near the palace they won't be able to do anything since he could be carrying the letter of a daughter to her father." explained Mary.
"Ok so we will send Carue to the capital along with a message to my father, but what to do about the war." said Vivi.

"That could work but it won't be easy..." said Nojiko.
"Bah Who cares I am strong right?" replied the captain.
"Ok that's right with me We send Carue with a message and we go to Baroque Works Headquarters to find evidence of Crocodile's treachery." said Vivi making the final decision as it was her country.
After that they went ashore to send Carue off with a letter for the king, and then head to Rainbase Headquarters of the criminal Organization Baroque Works.
To reach the city they had to cross the desert and it was a long a painful trek in a world of sand and incredible heat, it took them almost a week but they managed to do it without much trouble.
They only encountered some Kung fu dugongs and some messengers of Baroque Works but both threats were easily dispatched by Luffy.
Inside Rainbase they somehow met Smoker and his marines who were quiet angry with Mary for what she did to them.
Along the way they got separated with Luffy, Vivi, Nami, Nojiko, Alvida, Usopp, Kaya, Zoro, Makino followed by Smoker entering the Casino, And Sanji, Chopper, Johnny, Yosaku, Mary and Sophia in the city.
