Peach: Last time on Super Smash Bros. Battle, things took a turn for the worst when the Mushroom Kingdom became engulfed with darkness and the contestants soon found out that Luigi's Mansion was the cause of the sudden darkness, thanks to a Mario Kart Wii and Luigi's Mansion game. The contestants then had to destroy a purple crystal that was on top of the mansion by capturing all of the Portrait Ghosts in the mansion and the person who captured the most wins. Link managed to win immunity because of this and then another immunity spot was up for grabs because whoever captured King Boo would also win immunity. After Donkey Kong and Kirby's failed attempt of helping King Boo, he was then captured by Jigglypuff, making Mario and Yoshi the only ones up for elimination. Jigglypuff and Link were the deciding votes and ended up eliminating Yoshi, who was then sent to the Bowser's Resort and Spa. So, the final three: Jigglypuff, Link and Mario. Who will claim a spot to the final two and who will be the final contestant sent packing? Find out right here, right now on… Super Smash Bros. Battle!
The final three then hit the sack, with Mario and Link not in a very good mood.
Mario: I can't believe it! How did Jigglypuff manage to hang on?
Link: Hey, hold on there, Jigglypuff won the contest fair and square. Let's focus on what's coming up tomorrow, we can take down Jigglypuff then.
Mario: You're right. Let's get a good night's sleep for tomorrow's contest. If one of us wins the next challenge, Jigglypuff's gone for sure.
Morning hit Peach's Castle, with the Toads whipping up breakfast for the final three. Jigglypuff was the first to get up, currently eating a breakfast of French Toast and a cup of Coke. Mario then woke up after Jigglypuff, eating the same breakfast as him. Mario then seated himself beside Jigglypuff.
Jigglypuff: Hey, Mario. Congratulations on making it so far.
Mario: Thanks. You are very lucky to have made it this far. Had you not won the last challenge, Yoshi would be sitting here.
Jigglypuff: True. Now I have to win the next challenge as well to secure myself a spot in the final two.
Mario: Yes, and good luck to you.
Jigglypuff: Thanks, you too.
Link then wakes up and grabs his breakfast and sits down with Jigglypuff and Mario.
Link: Morning, guys.
Jigglypuff: Good morning to you too, Link.
Mario: Good morning.
Link: So, what do you think the challenge is going to be?
Jigglypuff: Well, Kirby told me about how the contestant order connected with the challenge order.
Mario: Really? So, what you're saying is that the Luigi-themed challenge had to do with when Luigi arrived here?
Jigglypuff: Correct.
Link: So, who arrived after Luigi?
Jigglypuff: That would be… me, actually.
Mario: So, since you're from the Pokémon series, the next challenge will be Pokémon-themed.
Link: True, and we're not about to quit, just because you might have an advantage.
Jigglypuff: I don't expect for your guys to quit at all. I want to win fair and square.
Mario: So do Link and I and we're going to give it our all.
Jigglypuff: Well, good luck to you guys.
Link: Same to you. This challenge is going to be very important.
Mario: Agreed.
Soon, Jigglypuff, Mario and Link arrive in Hearthome City for the next challenge to determine the Final Two.
Peach: Welcome, Mario, Link and Jigglypuff, to the Final Three Challenge! Congratulations on making it this far.
Link: Thanks, Peach.
Peach: Now, today's challenge is a Pokémon Contest. You guys will be given a random Pokémon to work with to win the Pokémon Contest. The contest contains three elements: fashion, moves and battling. Fashion is simply where you show off your Pokémon's style with props and clothes backstage. The team with the highest number of points wins the fashion contest. The moves contest is basically where you show off your given Pokémon's moves. The team with the highest number of points wins the moves contest. The battle contest is simply a three-way battle between your Pokémon. The last Pokémon standing wins the battle contest. If someone wins at least two contests, they automatically win. Does everyone understand?
Jigglypuff: I understand.
Mario: Same with me.
Link: Ditto!
A ditto appears out of nowhere and hits Link.
Link: Not that kind of Ditto!
Peach: Alright, now, the slot machine now has 4 slots. One for the chosen contestant and the other three will show numbers, one from 0-7 and the other two from 0-9. The numbers will determine the Pokémon you will get, depending on the Pokémon's National Pokedex Number. Now, let's start.
Peach then pulls the lever to activate the slot machine. The slot machine then comes up with the result.
Link (7-1-3)
Peach: This means that Link's Pokémon will be… Avalugg.
An airplane then lands in Hearthome City and an Avalugg exits the plane.
Link: Hello there, Avalugg. We shall rise to the top to win this contest!
Avalugg: Agreed. Let's win this challenge!
Peach: Alright, the next pair will be…
Peach then pulls the lever on the slot machine again. The slot machine then shows the results.
Jigglypuff (4-0-6)
Peach: This means that Jigglypuff's Pokémon is… Budew.
Another airplane arrives on the scene and out pops a Budew.
Jigglypuff: My, my, aren't you a cute one.
Budew: Thanks. I'll give this challenge my very best.
Jigglypuff: I will give it my all as well. My safety in this game rides on this challenge.
Peach: Now, time to see which Pokémon will be paired up with Mario.
Peach then pulls the lever on the slot machine for a final time. The slot machine then makes its decision.
Mario (6-8-3)
Peach: This means that Mario's Pokémon is… Aromatisse.
A final airplane arrives and an Aromatisse emerges from the plane.
Mario: We can do this, Aromatisse.
Aromatisse: You bet! I'll help you grab a spot in the Final Two.
Peach: Okay, let's head to the dressing rooms for the Fashion Contest portion of the challenge.
Soon, the Final Three are inside their own dressing rooms with a monitor displaying Peach explaining the instructions.
Peach: Now, here's how the Fashion Contest works. There are many props and costumes that you guys can use to dress your Pokémon with. You can use balloons, ribbons, flags, whatever you can find that is suitable for your liking is all there in the props area. Once you find everything you want to use, it's time to dress your Pokémon. Once you are ready to show off your Pokémon's style, press the green button on the monitor, this will teleport you to the stage, where three eliminated contestants will judge your Pokémon based on only style. There's no need to rush either, because you guys have all the time you need to dress up your Pokémon. So, time to dress to impress!
The monitor then turns off, leaving the Final Three to their dressing needs.
Link first heads for some Black Specs and goes for a Standing Mike and a Mirror Ball. Link was apparently going for a "cool" style for his Avalugg. He then grabbed a spotlight and dressed up his Avalugg. Afterwards, he grabbed a Gold Pedestal for his Avalugg to stand on, which he used to also place the Standing Mike on top and set up the Disco Ball and Spotlight and then pressed the green button on the monitor, which teleported him to the stage.
Jigglypuff first heads for a Lace Headress and a Colored Parasol. Jigglypuff wanted to go for a "cute" style, since he thought it would fit Budew's appearance. He then grabbed a Flower Stage and some Glitter Powder and sprinkled some on Budew. He also grabbed a Sweet Candy for Budew to hold and then pressed the green button on the monitor to teleport him and Budew to the stage.
Mario first heads for some Shiny Powder and sprinkles some on Aromatisse and then heads for a Silk Veil and dresses Aromatisse with it. He grabs a Glass Stage for Aromatisse to stand on and some Wealthy Coins to place in front of Aromatisse. Mario was going for a "beautiful" style for Aromatisse. He then presses the green button on the monitor to teleport Aromatisse and himself to the stage.
Peach: Alright, now that everyone is ready for the contest to start, it's time to introduce our three judges. These judges will be eliminated contestants and each of them will give you a score out of ten. Now, our first judge is… Luigi!
Luigi then enters the Contest Arena and takes a seat in one of the chairs with a pedestal-like table.
Luigi: Hello, everyone. I wish the best of luck to all of you.
Peach: Our next contest judge is… Samus Aran!
Samus then enters the Contest Arena and takes a seat beside Luigi.
Samus: Good luck, competitors. Let's see what you got.
Peach: Our final judge is… Ness!
Ness then enters the Contest Arena and takes a seat beside Samus.
Ness: I can't wait to see how this contest turns out. This'll certainly be interesting.
Peach: Now, our first competitor is… Link, with his Avalugg.
Link then appears on the stage along with Avalugg, its appearance set to be cool.
Luigi: Hmm… I see… I think Avalugg is supposed to be a singer, as shown by the style and props.
Samus: It's creative.
Ness: I agree with you there, Samus. A good use of the props.
Luigi: I'll give it an eight out of ten.
Samus: I'll give it a seven out of ten.
Ness: I'm giving this style a seven out of ten as well.
Link's Score: 22/30
Peach: Next up is Jigglypuff, along with Budew.
Budew and Jigglypuff appear on the stage, Budew's appearance set for a cute style.
Luigi: Such an adorable style, this improves Budew's cuteness.
Samus: I agree with you there. Budew looks so adorable.
Ness: I also agree. I will give Budew an eight out of ten.
Luigi: I'm giving Budew a seven out of ten.
Ness: I'll give Budew a seven out of ten.
Jigglypuff's Score: 22/30
Scores
Jigglypuff's Score: 22/30
Link's Score: 22/30
Peach: Now, for our final competitor… Mario!
Mario then appears on-stage with Aromatisse. Aromatisse had a beautiful style.
Luigi: Very glimmering, very stylish.
Samus: Aromatisse's beauty matches perfectly with the style her partner has given her.
Ness: I've got to agree. I'll give Aromatisse an eight out of ten.
Samus: I'll give an eight out of ten as well.
Luigi: This deserves a seven out of ten.
Mario's Score: 23/30
Scores
Mario's Score: 23/30
Jigglypuff's Score: 22/30
Link's Score: 22/30
Peach: So, with 23 points out of a possible 30, Mario wins the Fashion Contest!
Mario: Yes! We did it, Aromatisse!
Peach: So, if Mario wins another contest portion, he automatically wins the challenge and will get to choose who to take with him to the Finale.
Mario: Sweet!
Peach: Now, onto the Moves Contest. You guys get to take turns using your Pokemon's moves to impress the judges, however, if you use the same move twice in a row, this will lower the judge's appeal. There are five rounds to impress them. The slot machine will determine the style of the move that must be used to impress the judges the most. Now, the move style that will be used for the Moves Contest is…
Peach pulls the lever to reveal the move style for the contest.
Peach: …Tough. Now, we will use the slot machine to determine your Pokemon's set of moves. This time there are four slots, like we used earlier. Now, first, let's start with Aromatisse's moves.
Peach then pulls the lever on the slot machine to determine the result.
-Move #1: Aromatic Mist-
-Move #2: Skill Swap-
-Move #3: Sweet Scent-
-Move #4: Charm-
Peach: So, these are your four moves, Mario. Alright, let's do Budew's moves next.
Peach then pulls the lever on the slot machine to determine Budew's moves.
-Move #1: Water Sport-
-Move #2: Absorb-
-Move #3: Mega Drain-
-Move #4: Worry Seed-
Peach: These are Budew's moves that you will use during the contest. Now, time to determine Avalugg's moves.
Peach then pulls the lever to determine the moves that Avalugg will use.
-Move #1: Double-Edge-
-Move #2: Skull Bash-
-Move #3: Curse-
-Move #4: Ice Ball-
Peach: So, these will be Avalugg's moves. Now, let's begin the Moves Competition. I was going to have the last place competitor from the Fashion Competition to go first, to make it fair. However, there is a tie between Link and Jigglypuff, so we need to do a tie-breaker. We will do a coin toss to determine who goes first. Link, you get to call it. Heads or tails?
Link: I'll go for tails.
Peach then tosses the coin and the result is revealed.
Peach: Unfortunately Link, it's heads. This means Jigglypuff gets to go first in the Moves Competition. Link will go second and Mario will go last. Now, let's begin the moves competition!
Jigglypuff then heads for the stage and thinks which move should appeal the judges the most. He then calls out a move.
Jigglypuff: Budew, use Absorb!
Budew then uses Absorb, sucking in energy.
Luigi: Impressive. A lot of effort is being put into this move.
Samus: I have to say I am also impressed.
Ness: I agree. This effort is truly showing by the struggle.
Samus: We'll give it four points.
Scores
Jigglypuff's Score: 4
Peach: Not a bad start. Next up is Link!
Link then appears on-stage with his Avalugg, calling out a move.
Link: Avalugg, use Double-Edge!
Avalugg then uses an outstanding move, Double-Edge.
Luigi: What unbelievable strength!
Samus: Outstanding!
Ness: A very powerful move!
Samus: We give this six points!
Scores
Link's Score: 6
Jigglypuff's Score: 4
Peach: Well done Link! Well done! Now, I forgot to mention that if you call a move that matches the style the judges are looking for, you will light up a star on the judge booth. Light up all five stars, then you gain five stars to add to your score for that round. However, if you call a move that doesn't seem to match that well with the style they are looking for, they take away a star. So, choose wisely. Anyways, it's Mario's turn!
Mario then heads for the stage with Aromatisse. He then calls out his first move.
Mario: Aromatisse, use Charm!
Aromatisse then charms the judges with her cuteness.
Luigi: What cuteness!
Samus: Agreed.
Ness: I have to agree as well.
Samus: We will give this two points. However, we have to remove a star from the booth.
The star that was currently lit up on the judge booth became unlit.
Scores
Link's Score: 6
Jigglypuff's Score: 4
Mario's Score: 2
Peach: Hmm… I should use this remote that I received from the Zelda Market a while back to speed things up. Since the green button meant teleportation, the red button should mean a speed-up.
Peach then pressed the red button on the Zelda Market remote, which then sped up the competition. Peach then pressed the red button again to return to the normal time speed.
Peach: Now, our winner of the Moves Competition was… Link! He mainly won because of his Pokémon's move Double-Edge and his Pokémon was the only one to have Tough style moves, which gave his Pokémon the advantage. Now, Link and Mario both have won one contest each. So, Jigglypuff needs to win the next contest in order to tie it up. Now, it's time for the Battle Contest! You guys will face off against each other in a Round Robin styled tournament to win the Battle Contest. Whoever wins the most of their matches wins! Now, first up will be Jigglypuff and Link. Head to the stage to start the battle!
Jigglypuff and Link arrive at the stage to start the battle.
Peach: Alright, are you both ready?
Jigglypuff: Yes.
Link: Yes.
Peach: Alright, then. Let the battle begin!
Jigglypuff and Link then send out their Pokémon.
Jigglypuff: Budew, time to shine!
Budew is then sent out.
Link: Avalugg, let's win this contest!
Avalugg is then sent out.
Jigglypuff then calls out Budew's first move.
Jigglypuff: Budew, use Mega Drain!
Budew then absorbed Avalugg's energy as much as it could.
Link: Avalugg, use Ice Ball!
Avalugg then launched an Ice Ball from its mouth and hits Budew.
Mario: That must have done a lot of damage, since Budew is weak against Ice-type Pokémon.
Link: Now, use Double-Edge!
Avalugg then hit Budew with a lot of force, dealing a load of damage.
Jigglypuff: Quick Budew, use Mega Drain!
Budew then absorbs some energy from Avalugg.
Link: Avalugg, wrap this up with another Ice Ball!
Avalugg then launches another Ice Ball at Budew, which hits Budew, causing it to faint.
Peach: The winner of this match has been decided! The winner of the match between Jigglypuff V/S Link is… Link!
Link: Yes! We did it Avalugg!
Avalugg seemed to be happy as well.
Peach: Alright, the next round will be Link against Mario! Mario, please head to the stage.
Mario then arrives with his Aromatisse in a Poke Ball.
Peach: Now, before we start, Link must heal his Avalugg. Ness, would you be kind and please bring us the Healing System?
Ness: Right away, Peach!
Ness then heads to the lobby to fetch a Healing System, which he later brings back to Peach.
Peach: Thanks, Ness.
Ness: You're welcome.
Peach then plugs in the Healing System and is given Link's Avalugg for healing.
Peach: There we go. Avalugg should be all healed now.
Link: Sweet! Thanks, Peach.
Link then heads back to the stage for his battle against Mario.
Peach: Now, the battle between Link and Mario will now commence. Are you both ready?
Link: Yes.
Mario: Yes.
Peach: Alright, then let the battle begin!
Mario: Aromatisse, let's bring a win to the table!
Aromatisse is then sent out.
Link: Avalugg, let's win this contest!
Avalugg is then sent out.
Mario then calls out the first move.
Mario: Aromatisse, use Charm!
Aromatisse then tries to charm Avalugg, which lowers Avalugg's defense.
Link: Avalugg, use Double-Edge!
Avalugg then charges for Aromatisse with great force.
Mario: Quick, Aromatisse, dodge!
Aromatisse then dodges the Double-Edge.
Mario: Use Charm again!
Aromatisse then charms Avalugg again, continuing to decrease Avalugg's defense.
Link: Avalugg, use Skull Bash!
Avalugg then heads for Aromatisse, yet again.
Mario: Aromatisse, dodge again!
Aromatisse then dodges Avalugg's attack again.
Mario: Use Charm again!
Aromatisse then yet again, charms Avalugg, lowering his defense.
Link: Use Ice Ball, Avalugg!
Avalugg then fires an Ice Ball at Aromatisse.
Mario: Alright, Aromatisse, dodge it!
Link: Knew it! Use, Double-Edge!
While Aromatisse dodged the Ice Ball, Avalugg then used Double-Edge in the direction Aromatisse was heading, hitting Aromatisse with a lot of power.
Mario: No! Aromatisse!
Link: Alright, now use Skull Bash!
Avalugg then charged at Aromatisse and hit her for a lot of damage.
Mario: Aromatisse!
Link: Wrap this up with Ice Ball!
Avalugg then launched an Ice Ball at Aromatisse.
Mario: Quick, Aromatisse! Get up!
Aromatisse tried to get up from all the damage she had taken, but it was too late. The Ice Ball hit Aromatisse, causing her to faint.
Mario: Aromatisse, no!
Peach: Looks like this match is over! The winner of the match between Mario and Link is… Link!
Link: We did it Avalugg! We won!
Peach: Now, since Link had won both his matches, and since Mario and Jigglypuff have no wins with one more match between them left to go, the winner of the Battle Contest is… Link!
Link: Sweet! Avalugg, we won the battle contest!
Avalugg then seemed happy as well.
Peach: Also, since Jigglypuff has won no portions of the contest and since Mario has one portion of the contest won and Link has two portions of the contest won, the winner of the challenge is… Link!
Link: We did it! We won the challenge, Avalugg!
Avalugg was then really happy that they won the whole contest.
Peach: Now, Link, having won this challenge, you are guaranteed a spot in the Final Two!
Link: I can't believe it! I'm going to the Final Two! I couldn't have done this without my partner, Avalugg! He did all the work.
Avalugg was then happy for getting some credit from Link's win.
Peach: Now, we must head back to the castle and to the Podoboo Fire, because either Jigglypuff or Mario will be heading to the Bowser's Resort and Spa and the other will be going to the Final Two with Link!
Link: Alright, let's hit the road!
Soon, Link, Mario and Jigglypuff arrive back at Peach's Castle along with Peach and head to the Podoboo Fire for the elimination.
-At the Podoboo Fire-
Peach: Now, since Mario and Jigglypuff's votes cancel each other out, Link will be the deciding vote. Link, please cast your vote in private, please.
Link soon makes his final decision and is seated with Mario and Jigglypuff.
Peach: Now, when I reveal Link's vote, the eliminated contest must head for the Bowser Boat and leave for the Spa. The person heading home is…

Peach: …Jigglypuff.
Jigglypuff: Well, I kind of saw this coming. Good luck to you both in the Final Two. Now, I got a boat to catch.
Jigglypuff then boards the Bowser Boat and heads for Bowser's Resort and Spa.
Peach: Well, it's come to this. With Jigglypuff gone, we have our Final Two! Mario and Link! Who will win the million coins? What final challenge will await the Final Two? Will there be a Season Two? Find out next time on… Super Smash Bros. Battle!
