Chapter 10: Close Your Eyess

Chu Ga Eul

Yi Jeong arrived at her apartment exactly 10:00 a.m as promised. He held a bouquet of white roses in one hand and a picnic basket in the other, while giving off a very charming smile. "Good morning princess" he greeted her with enthusiasm, she let out a small smile, "good morning to you too sunbae" She gestured him to come in, Yi Jeong placed the basket on top of the counter top while he gave the flowers to Ga Eul along with a sweet kiss on the forehead. This gesture made Ga Eul's heart skip a beat; she was always out of words when these kinds of things happen. "So… what are we supposed to do today?" She asked while place the bouquet of flowers on a vase, and smiling genuinely at it. Yi Jeong took in the scene in front of him, how beautiful she was so happy, content. But he knew it would end.

Shaking off the bad feeling he had inside, he took her hand and planted a kiss on her knuckles, this gesture surprised Ga Eul, "we have to go back to the hospital and talk to your doctors, we need to plan" he said straightly at her, his eyes telling her to agree. Ga Eul didn't want to be treated anymore, she had given up but the way that Yi Jeong is looking at her is making her giddy. She feels like a villain if she didn't agree, she had lost hope for a cure but Yi Jeong haven't and so she's willing to give it a bit of a chance. She smiled at him and cupped his cheek, "can we have breakfast first?"

Yi Jeong chuckled "of course we can, where do you want to eat?" he asked her. Ga Eul smiled sheepishly at him "to the old porridge shop" she let out. The Casanova smiled at her and took her hand in his, "alright then let's go"

The two arrived at the porridge shop moments later; hand in hand they entered the small establishment. Nothing has changed except for a few decorations, there were four waitresses now and to their surprise a lot of customers, when they arrived there were only three seats available. The porridge shop has been a success these past few months, the chief was not around, the waitress told them that he was busy checking on to expanding the place. Ga Eul thought to give him a call later, they added a lot onto the menu too, Ga Eul wanted to try all of them but she knew her stomach wouldn't be able to handle it, so she agreed to try the porridge that was named 'drop it like it's hot' which she assumed would be spicy. Yi Jeong ordered his usual, and she didn't bother asking him if he wanted to try a new one since he ordered two bowls of it. 'He couldn't be that hungry?' she thought to herself.

Woo Bin

He had been pacing in his room back and forth, a bottle of unopened whiskey in his hand and an opened letter in the other. He was nervous; it was obvious in his shaking hands. There was a knock on the door, but he ignored it. "Oppa! Open up!" it was his younger sister screaming behind the door. She was banging the door like a wild animal on the loose, but he still chose to ignore it. He didn't know what to do; he didn't know when is the right time to tell Yi Jeong what he knows. To tell his best friend that he has his letter and he has developed feelings for Chu Ga Eul. "Sunbae! I'm opening this door right now, whether you like it or not!" his sister yelled, and soon after a loud clash echoed the room. "Min-Jee ah! What now?" He nearly yelled at his younger sister. "What is up with you? I just have something to tell" she smiled brightly. He and her sister were close, she told him everything, and he was overly protective of her. "What is it?" he asked annoyingly.

"I met a guy and he's sooooo cute!" she giggled in delight while her older brother scratched the back of his head. "Min-Jee you always meet a guy that is soooo cute" he exasperated. Min Jee pouted, "I know but this one's different! He's so shy and cute!"

" Really? Then what makes him so special?"

"He's good with computers and stuff, he's not much of a talker though, but he's sooo nice. He paid for my food and said I was really pretty!" While hearing this Woo Bin rolled his eyes. "Song Min-Jee that's what guys are supposed to do!"

"Then why don't you do it?" she asked him with wide eyes. Woo Bin was a bit taken back with her question. "What do you mean?"

"I don't ever see you tell Miss Ga Eul is pretty when it's so obvious that you like her!" Woo Bin made a confused look. 'How the hell does she know Ga Eul?' he asked to himself. He choked back a bit of his saliva. "And how do you know about Ga Eul?" he asked her sister who made smirk. "How can I not? I'm the daughter of a mafia boss remember? I know everything" she told him with pride in her voice, she was twirling her hair, amused at the site of his big bother looking rather shocked that she knew. "I know about the phone calls, the pictures you keep in your back drawer in your room and I know that Yi Jeong sunbae likes her too" she blabbered, roaming around her brothers room, she went towards the drawer, kicked the last compartment and another compartment popped out from the inside. She looked at her brother and took out a picture of Chu Ga Eul. Woo Bin has his mouth agape "Close your mouth big brother or flies will come in" she joked as she handed him the picture. He took it, he hadn't looked at it for a long time, he was surprised that she knew all of this, he thought he was being stealthy, he thought that no one knew he loves her but him but he was wrong. In the picture Ga Eul was wearing a big smile while her hand was wrapped around a child. It was a picture he had taken of her the time he first came to visit her at the school she worked at. "How did you know?" he asked his little sister who was observing him with a big grin on her face.

She made a shrug, "I saw you with her one time and I got curious since she looks different from the girls you play around with, so I followed you guys, you didn't touch her the whole time, except the time when you guys were crossing. I saw the way you looked at her big brother, and I never saw you look at anyone else like the way you looked at her" she smiled, "So I continued to look for her, I saw her picture here in your room once, and I know all about the secret compartments in this house soo.. That's when I knew. I knew my big brother loved this girl" she pointed at Chu Ga Eul in the picture. "How about you knowing about Yi Jeong?"

She bit her lip, "Promise you won't be mad?" she asked him. Woo Bin nodded his head. "Well…I of kind of tapped in the phone lines here at home, and there was once he called here at home and I heard the whole conversation" she told him with a guilty look. Woo Bin chuckled and ruffled her hair, "You really are the daughter of a Mafia boss" he stated while he brought her into his arms and gave her a tight hug. "Please don't tell anyone else, I'm having a hard time telling her, I don't know how"

Min Jee made a sympathetic look at her older brother, she made a reassuring smile. "You are the Don Juan of the infamous F4, You are Prince Song. I sure know that you'll be her knight in shining Lamborghini". Woo Bin smiled at his sister's effort to make him feel better. "She's sick; we don't know how long she'll survive Min-Jee." He told her, tears beginning to fall out from his eyes. He was not like this, he was never like this when he was around his sister, it was the other way around. He protected her, he gave her comfort, he was supposed to be the one to be soothing her tears and not the other way around."

"Tell her how you feel big brother or you'll regret. Forget about the consequences, forget about the thought of rejection, you tell her. Tell her how much you love her, how much you're willing to sacrifice, how you'll do everything you can to have her, or you'll end up with a hole in your heart forever, a hole filled with what if's" she explained. Woo Bin made a small smile, this was a new part of his sister that he gets to see, he was rather surprised at how his sister is acting in this situation. "And since when did you become an expert of love?" he joked. "Oh just up" she smiled, punching her big brother lightly.

"You love her"

"I think I do"

"Go get her then" Min Jee told him, she took his hand in hers and began dragging him out the door. "Wait Min-Jee stop! It's not that easy!" he said, while trying to remove Min-Jee's grasp.

Min-Jee had stopped walking and looked back at her older brother. "Why not?" she asked.

"Because of Yi Jeong" he breathed out.

Ga Eul

It was four in the afternoon and Chu Ga Eul was exhausted, Yi Jeong had walked her home early because she made an excuse of helping her mom out in the house, but it was because she could feel her head aching, she was in her bed, trying to sleep but she couldn't. She was having headaches again and her visions began to blur. It was hard for her to stand up and get a glass of water, so she preferred to stay in bed instead and try to sleep it off. But the pain was so bad she wanted to scream, her mouth was dry and it felt like an anchor was dragging her down. She reached for her phone, and tries to call anyone and the same time she didn't want to bother them. Her parents were at work and she didn't to bother the F4 or Jan Di but she knew she couldn't handle this all on her own. The pain was unbearable and she couldn't see the numbers written on her phone so she pressed a random number.

It was answered immediately, "Hello Chu Ga Eul?" it was a man's voice, she couldn't recognize it anymore because of the throbbing pain in her head. "Chu Ga Eul?"the voice said again, but in a more frantic voice. "Where are you? Are you alright?" still she couldn't mouth a word; it felt like she was going to vomit if she opened her mouth. "CHU GA EUL!" the voice from the other line yelled, tears began to form out of her eyes, and she hadn't felt like this in months, why is she feeling it now? She just wanted to be happy and live awhile longer with her friends and family, but fate wouldn't let her. "I'm going to your house, I just hope you're there" said the person from the other line. "Don't hang up, I can still hear you breathing, Oh God I hope you're okay!"

She tried to open up her mouth but only one word came out.

"Mianhe" and the line went dead, Ga Eul closing her eyes.

s
