Brianna woke up to the sound of running water. She figured Jon was in the shower so she got out of bed and began to brew a pot of coffee. While she was brewing the coffee she heard a loud buzzing, walking over to her suitcase to see if her phone was vibrating she unzipped it and dug around until she found her phone once she did she grabbed it and looked at it. It wasn't her phone, so it must have been Jon's.
Making sure Jon was still in the shower Brianna picked up his phone and the moment she did her heart dropped to her stomach. There were a ton of missed calls and text messages from Renee. Throwing Jon's phone back on the night stand the hippie went over to the coffee pot and poured herself some coffee. She grabbed and orange from the fruit basket that had been sitting on the counter top and began peeling it.
Jon soon got out of the shower and smiled at the smell of fresh coffee. Wrapped up in just his towel he made his way into the kitchen and he saw Bri sitting on a stool with a sour look on her face.
"Are you mad at that orange or something?" He let a soft chuckle escape his lips as he went over to the coffee pot and poured himself some coffee.
"I'm not mad at anyone." She stated as she took a sip of her coffee and a bite of her orange.
"You're mad at something Brianna, I can tell." Jon said as he took a sip of his coffee and began to peel a banana as he walked over to his suit case and pulled out some clean clothes.
Bri finished off her coffee and orange and sighed as she went over towards the bathroom she was stopped in her tracks when Jon's arms wrapped around her waist. She hated how Jon could turn her into mush just by wrapping his arms around her.
"So are you going to tell me what's wrong?" He asked as he kissed the side of her neck.
Bri turned around and faced him that was a big mistake on her part considering he was still dripping wet from his shower and still wearing nothing but his towel. Brianna bit down on her bottom lip and let her brown hues scan him up and down.
Damn it, why did she have to be so weak for him?
Brianna sighed and looked up at him before speaking to him.
"Why is Renee calling and texting you?"
She didn't know if Jon was going to get angry at her for snooping on his phone or if he had an answer for her but, she needed to hear what he had to say.
"Why were you looking through my phone?" The Cincinnati native questioned in a serious voice as he threw on his t shirt and then dropped his towel putting on his red boxers.
Brianna stood there in shock. He wasn't mad he was serious and that was what shocked her the most.
"It's not like I purposely looked through your phone. It was vibrating while you were in the shower and the annoying buzzing was driving me crazy."
Jon shook his head and threw on his jeans before replying to his hippie girlfriend.
"I don't know why she's calling me or texting me. I haven't talked to that psycho since I told her I didn't want anything to do with her. I said it before and I'll say it again, YOU are all I want. I had one little slip up with Renee but, that won't ever happen again. Do you realize what you do to me, Brianna? You make me feel some kind of special. I mean, look at me I'm pouring my heart out to you. Do you think I'd do that to anyone else?"
Hearing Jon's words made the Scottsdale native smile he really was pouring his heart out to her and that made her feel so special.
"I believe you Jon, But just to make sure sheknows that the two of you are over. I don't care how you have to do it just make sure she knows."
Brianna made her way into the bathroom and began brushing her teeth. While she was brushing her teeth Jon came into the bathroom and watched her. He let a soft chuckle escape his lips as he watched her gargle the mouth wash. She spit it out and turned to face him.
"What's so funny, Ambrose?" She questioned with a smile.
"Nothing hippie, you're just so concerned with those teeth of yours, they're perfect just like you." He wrapped his arms around her from behind and kissed her cheek. "I love you, Brianna."
Feeling Jon wrap his strong arms around her put the hippie at ease as she turned to face him and rubbed his left cheek.
"I love you too, Jonathan. There's something I want to ask you."
A confused look formed on the Ohio natives face as he looked down into Bri's chocolate colored orbs and tightened his grip around her waist.
"What is it?" He questioned
Brianna was growing slightly nervous as she scanned him up and down and bit her bottom lip before locking eyes with him again.
"I was thinking that maybe you could come meet my family. Like, my mother and my brother. I really want them to meet the man that I might end up marrying one day."
A huge loud sigh escaped his lips as he looked down at her and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I don't know Brianna, parents aren't really my thing. But, for you I'd do it just because I love you. When did you want this thing to take place?"
"Um, well I was thinking maybe later today but if that's too much of a late notice I understand."
"Nah' Today is fine, darlin'. I'd rather get it over with anyways."
~Later That Day~
Around 6p.m. that evening Brianna and Jon arrived at her mother's house. Stepping out of the car a soft sigh escaped the hippie's lips as they slowly walked up the drive way that lead to the front door.
"Relax babe, I'm the one who should be nervous here." Jon stated as he placed his left hand on her lower back.
"I know, it's just my mom can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. And I'm sure she's going to bring up me leaving Total Divas and the match you and I just had. Great, this was a really bad idea. We should have never come here." Brianna began rocking back and forth on her heels as she knocked on the front door.
"Brianna, chill everything's going to be fine. This wasn't a bad idea just relax." Jon tucked his index finger and thumb under her soft chin and made her look at him before kissing her lips softly.
Feeling Jon's lips softly kiss hers a sigh of relief escaped her lips as she kissed him back wrapping her arms around his neck. Her hands roamed slightly down his back and she deepened their kiss loving the way his back felt beneath his leather jacket.
Before the kiss could go any further and risk some very strong sexual behavior Jon broke the kiss and looked into her brown hues he had fallen so madly in love with.
"Let's go inside and get through this dinner and then later I'll give you some desert." He stated with a wink.
Brianna's mom opened the door with a smile on her face.
"Brianna! It's so good to see you sweetie, please come in."
Brianna and Jon made their way inside and they were greeted by Brianna's brother JJ.
"Hey Bri, it's good to see you again."
Bri smiled and hugged her brother as she and Jon went over to the couch and sat down. She took off her flannel jacket and tossed it on the back of the couch.
"So what brings you back home?" Kathy questioned as she began to stir the pasta she had cooking on the stove.
"Oh, I just wanted to visit my mom and brother. I also wanted to introduce you guys to Jon, my boyfriend."
Jon stood up from the couch and shook JJ's hand he then went into the kitchen and shook Kathy's had as well.
"It's nice to meet you both. Brianna tells me great things about the two of you."
"Well dinner will be ready in about fifteen minutes, Brianna could you come help me set the table."
Bri went into the kitchen and left Jon and JJ in the living room to mingle while she helped her mother finish preparing dinner.
"I'm not sure I like Jon, Brianna. He seems slightly off and especially after the way he treated you in that match you guys had. I mean you got a concussion Brianna. What man does that!? Oh, and what's this I hear about you leaving Total Divas? That was something you and Nicole loved doing together."
Brianna rolled her eyes as she picked up the stack of plates and placed them on the table.
"You know mom I didn't think at 31 years old I needed your permission to date Jon. Besides that he's a great guy you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Oh but, if it was Nicole bringing Jon home you'd be all for it. "Oh Nicole, he's so handsome and rugged and tough." As for Total Divas, that was my choice, Jon had nothing to do with it."
Brianna slammed the silver wear on the table causing both Jon and JJ to turn their heads and look in Brianna's direction. JJ got up from the couch and went over to Bri.
"Everything okay, B?"
"No, it's not. Mom's being judgmental. She's pissed off because I quit Total Divas and she doesn't like Jon. She thinks he's a bad influence on me and that I shouldn't be with him. This is why I never come home anymore." Bri pushed past JJ and went over to the couch Jon was sitting on and sat down next to him resting her head on his shoulder.
"What's wrong darlin'?" He asked taking a sip of his Heineken.
"How do you know something's wrong?" She questioned.
"Brianna, I've known you long enough to know that whenever you place that pretty head of yours on my shoulder something is wrong, now spit it out and tell me what's wrong, toots."
Brianna blushed softly as he called her toots. They had been together for almost 8 months now and Jon could still make her blush and feel all giddy inside.
Letting a sift sigh escape her lips she looked into Jon's blue hues and smiled slightly.
"It's just my mom. She doesn't like you. Because it's not Nicole bringing you home but, she also doesn't like you because of the match we had at the Rumble oh and she thinks you made me quit Total Divas."
Hearing Brianna speak Jon finished off his beer and put the empty bottle down on the table getting up from the couch he went over to the coat rack and picked up his leather coat and threw it on before speaking to Kathy.
"So, I hear you don't like me. That's fine, I don't like you either. You're a stuck up snob just like Nicole, in fact I see where she gets it from. Brianna invited me here to have a nice dinner and out of the kindness of my heart, I swallowed my pride and came here for her. We haven't been here for more than an hour and you're already treating her like shit so we're leaving. JJ, it was nice meeting you. You're an awesome guy and you're more than welcome to visit Bri and I in Vegas whenever you want."
Bri got up from the couch and hugged her brother before walking out the door with Jon. This dinner was a complete mistake and she felt bad for the way it ended but, she was really happy that Jon stood up for her the way he did. In Brianna's mind, that moment had just proven why she had fallen in love with him in the first place.
"That was pretty harsh, Jon." Bri stated as she closed the door behind them and headed towards the car.
Jon stopped Brianna and made her face him before he spoke to her.
"Well what did you want me to do, Brianna? I wasn't just going to stand there and let her talk shit on me or you. I don't care if she is your mother, she deserved it."
As much as Brianna hated to admit it Jon was right. Her mother deserved every one of those tongue lashing Jon had given her moments ago.
"You're right, she did deserve it. However, she still my mom and I know I'll have to apologize to her. Let's just get out of here, it was a bad idea for me to bring you here anyways. I'm sorry you had to meet my mom I thought she'd be different. I thought she'd like you but, I was wrong."
Brianna couldn't stop the few tears that fell from her eyes. Having her mom not like her boyfriend really hurt her. Stepping down from the porch Brianna followed Jon to the car wiping her eyes. This night was a total bust and she felt bad for bringing Jon out here.
"I'm sorry I even brought you out here. This night was a bust." She stated as she stepped into the drivers seat of the car.
"Stop apologizing, darlin' it's not your fault. And maybe this night isn't a total bust after all. Switch seats with me, I have an idea." Jon stated with a smirk.
The hippie stepped out of the car and switched places with Jon she was curious what he was up to. Fastening her seat belt Brianna looked at him with a soft smile.
"What are you up too?"
"Oh nothing, you just close your eyes and relax and I'll wake you when we get there."
Jon's POV
I decided to take Brianna to one of my favorite spots in Arizona. There was this nice little private beach where a friend of mine lived and he just so happened to be out of town today which made this plan come together even better.
My blue orbs gazed over at the hippie who had fallen asleep. She always looked so peaceful sleeping sometimes I wondered what it would be like to just wander around her head for a little bit. Focusing back on the road a soft smile formed on my lips as I took the nearest exit that lead to my buddy's house.
Driving off the exit and then onto a dirt road I once again gazed over at Brianna who had still been sleeping peacefully. I picked up her left hand and rubbed it softly imagining what it would feel like when I finally put a ring on her finger and officially made her mine. As I rubbed her hand she stirred softly in her sleep which made me chuckle.
Reaching the end of the dirt road, I pulled up behind the house and turned off the car before taking my seat belt off. I stepped out of the car and walked over to my angel's side of the car. Tonight was going to be a night both Brianna and I would remember forever.
Jon opened Brianna's door and rubbed her cheek softly.
"Wake up, princess we're here."
Brianna groaned softly and opened her eyes smiling at Jon. For some reason she felt a lot better maybe she needed the extra hour of sleep.
"Where are we?" She questioned with a yawn as she stretched her arms.
"Some place really special."
Bri stepped out of the car and the smile on her face grew bigger as she looked around and saw nothing but a sandy beach and a small little beach house.
"Jon, what are we doing here?" The hippie questioned as she continued to look around.
"I figured you and I could use a nice little get a way. Sure, it's not Hawaii but, it'll be nice to be away from everyone for a few weeks."
"Jon, Are you sure you can be out of work for a few weeks?"
"Yeah babe, I'll be fine. Now let's go inside."
Brianna's POV
I walked inside the beach home and my jaw dropped. There were rose pedals that lead all the way out to the shore of the beach. I turned to face Jon and smiled as I followed the rose pedals out to the shore where there was a nice little picnic set up and a little surprise which just happened to be Josie.
I turned and faced Jon once again this time with tears in my eyes as I kissed his lips and wrapped my arms around his neck.
Brianna smiled and sat down on the blanket next to Jon with Josie in her lap.
"Jon, you didn't have to do all this for me."
Jon moved closer to Brianna and tucked her hair behind her ear before looking into her eyes.
"I know I didn't have too. I wanted too. I wanted to show you how much you mean to me which is why I got you this."
Jon reached into his coat pocket and took out a little black box. He handed the box to Brianna and grinned softly as he eagerly awaited her to open it.
Taking the box Brianna opened it and reviled a heart shaped necklace and on the back it was engraved with the following:
Thanks for being my wonderwall. -Jon
Tears filled Brianna's chocolate brown orbs as she put the necklace on. She kissed his lips softly and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Thank you Jon, it's beautiful."
Seeing the tears in Brianna's eyes made it worth it. Her arms wrapped around his neck and his arms wrapped around her waist pulling her closer to him. A soft sigh would escape his lips as he inhaled her scent. Something about Brianna always calmed him down. He always felt at ease and for the first time in his life, Jon felt love. Real and true love. Kissing her soft plump pink lips, Jon pulled her into his lap and smiled.
"How about we get to that food. I even got something special for the mut over there."
Jon opened the picnic basket and pulled out a bottle of cherry wine, along with some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, barbeque chips, and a nice big bone for Josie. Okay, so the meal he had prepared wasn't the most romantic but, it was better than sitting at her mother's house where clearly he wasn't wanted.
"Sorry, it's not a big romantic meal. You're lucky I didn't just stop at McDonalds on the way here." A soft chuckle escaped Jon's lips as he handed her a sandwich.
"This is perfect Jon. You should know by now that I don't care for fancy over the top meals. I'm not Nicole." She took her sandwich and smiled as she unwrapped it.
"By the way, thank you for getting Josie and getting her something too. That means a lot to me."
"No problem, darlin' I knew how much she meant to you. Pretty soon she's going to mean the world to me too."
The two lovers enjoyed their meal together all while enjoying the beautiful sunset. If Brianna could plan an amazing date night, this would be it. A simple meal, a few glasses of wine, the man of her dreams, a man she was never suppose to fall in love with but, did and her dog this, this would be a perfect way to spend her evening. Surrounded by the two most important people in her life. Jon and Josie.
It was safe to say that Brianna was on cloud nine with her life right now. She could only hope that Jon felt the same way. Of course he did, why else would he have gotten her the necklace she was wearing?
Shaking the negative thoughts from her head, Brianna turned to face Jon and kissed his lips before getting up from the blanket they had been sitting on.
"Catch me if you can." The hippie stated as she ran out towards the shore.
Jon wasn't sure what Brianna was up to but, he didn't have to be told twice. He stood up from the blanket he was sitting on and chased after Brianna. He had to admit, she looked amazing when she ran. Hell she looked amazing in general.
It didn't take Jon long to catch up to her and once he did he wrapped his arms around her from behind and then picked her petite frame up and threw her over his left shoulder.
"Maybe I need to teach you not to run away from Daddy." A sly smirk formed on his face as he slapped her behind.
"Jon, put me down! I was trying to be-" Before the hippie had a chance to finish speaking her words were cut off as Jon spanked her bum. A slight giggle would escape her lips. Wait, was she actually enjoying this? What kind of weirdo was she?
"Oh, I'll put you down babe, just as soon as I spank you one more time." A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he spanked her again before laying her down in the sand. Jon now towered over her and kissed her deeply running his hands down the front of her body.
Feeling Jon's rough hands run down her body sent chills down Brianna's spine causing her to shiver slightly in his arms. Brianna kissed him back wrapping her arms around his neck. As much as Brianna wanted to do this with Jon, she just couldn't bring herself to do it especially in the sand. Sure, that had been one of her fantasies but, right now it just didn't feel right.
"Jon, wait. I can't do this." She stated as she sat up slightly.
"What's wrong babe?"
"Nothings wrong, I just this doesn't feel right like don't get me wrong, I love you and I love the beach but, something about this doesn't feel right."
The look that formed on Jon's face broke Brianna's heart. He showed a look of disappointment and hurt and that was something that hurt her.
"It's fine Brianna, I don't want to make you do something you don't wanna do." Jon got up from on top of her and walked back over to the blanket and laid down staring out at the water as the waves crashed against some nearby rocks.
Brianna could tell Jon was upset with her so she let him have his space while she walked along the shore dipping her feet in the water. Was this what their relationship was going to be like every time she said no to him would he pout like a baby? All these thoughts roamed around her mind as she sat near the shore with her knees against her chest.
