Disclaimer: The only thing I got during those last few months was new pajamas and a worse sense of humor. Don't sue me.
A/N: Okay, go ahead and pelt me with tomatoes… I am so sorry for not updating faster… Well, I'm here now and I'll probably continue this story. Probably. I know it's been a few months, but I'll try to make my writing style just like a few months ago.
FIRST DAY: PART 2
"Okay, what the hell was that about? We have to talk about this sometime, you know." Harry asked, stuffing his finished essays in his bag. Camilla shrugged, twirling a lock of black hair idly between her fingers.
"Yes, but I say sometime is not anytime and anytime can be now so we don't have to talk about it now because it's anytime and not sometime." Camilla mumbled, still distracted with her hair.
"What?" Oka blinked owlishly, sending her friend more than a few weird looks. After the short talk with Professor Evans, the usually excitable girl was rather quiet and frankly, it was scaring all of them. Instead of having her heart plastered on her sleeve, Camilla was unreadable. Maybe she was thinking about homicide. Or strawberries. Nobody knows.
"Do you want to take a walk by the lake?" Harry supplied helpfully, not wanting to see his sister so… 'Dead'.
"No."
"Go get something to eat?"
"No."
"Go prank Weasley or whatever?"
"No."
"Go to the library?"
"No."
"Not even sneak into the restricted section?" Oka hinted, and Camilla's blank expression faltered slightly.
"…No."
"Really?"
"…"
"Are you sure?"
"Oh bloody hell, FINE." Camilla grumbled, sending them both glares jokingly, but it was obvious she was excited. "Alright, so how do you guys want to do this? Sneak in there I mean?"
"Um, I don't know. I'm just tagging along my crazy kleptomaniac of a sister." Harry grinned, earning him yet another smack on the shoulder from Camilla.
"Hey! I can't believe you would forget about me like that, Harry! After we've been through so much too…" Oka sulked, glaring at him. Harry snorted and patted her gently on the head.
"There, there. Why don't you go scare some ghosts for fun or something?"
"Uh, what?" The trio turned around to see Daphne staring at them like they just confessed their love for Snape. Which they might as well have, seeing how their original conversation was about kleptomaniacs, sneaking into a library of all places, and scaring ghosts. If Harry hadn't been exposed to this for a good half of his life so far, he'd be pretty freaked out too. "What's this about the restricted section I hear?"
"Wow, of all the things we've said, you've decided to comment about THAT? I like you." Camilla smirked, patting the blonde girl on the back.
"A Slytherin through and through, m'dear." She smirked right back. From that moment on, Camilla knew she would have fun plotting with said fellow student. "So, what have you got to offer in exchange of me keeping my mouth shut about this whole library ordeal?"
"Why don't you come along? I'm sure there's something you'd want in there. But it wasn't like you would expose us in the first place." Harry stated matter-of-factly, and Daphne only raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow at him.
"Why would you say that, Peverell?"
"Well, for starters, the other Slytherins wouldn't like you much more if you tattled on one of our own, right? It would lose the whole house points. Second, you don't have solid prove we were gonna do it." As Harry went on, a smile slowly etched across Daphne's face. You could tell the other girl was quite pleased.
"Okay fine, you win this round, Peverell. But I don't want to go to the restricted section. My mum and dad probably have those books anyway, being an old family and all." If possible, her grin widened. "I want to know why your last name is 'Peverell', especially since the bloodline died off a LONG time ago."
"What are you going to do if we don't tell?" Camilla asked coolly. The common room had emptied by now, leaving just the four of them and some crazy sixth years freaking out about homework.
"Nothing. But I know you're going to tell me." Daphne answered smugly.
"Why is that?"
"Because I'm annoying you." Camilla groaned, realizing the girl was right. The whole time she had been grinding her foot into the floor aggressively.
"Fine. We'll tell." Harry took a deep breath and continued. "As you- and the whole school have found out- damn twinkly- our last names were 'Potter'. Long story short, we got it changed and ran away. And that's all you asked, so there."
"But how did you make it show on all papers? Some are impossibly old and only based by your- OH! You changed your blood didn't you?"
"Surprised you figured it out so quick, but we should probably get to the library now." Oka smiled, dragging the twins away, leaving Daphne alone to her thoughts.
…
"Well, that was an adventure…" Harry muttered numbly, flopping down on one of the beanbags set out in the common room.
"Yeah, especially when the book started yelling." Camilla grinned, sitting down next to him. They, of course had snuck in and out without anyone noticing, especially with the held of invisibility charms. Basically a way more efficient version of whatever these brits used, she assumed. She was surprised when no manipulative headmaster showed up again. Surprised, but definitely happy. When both her and Harry started dozing off, Oka took out the letter the three of them wrote to their friends earlier, ready to send it off.
Dear Ophelia, Billy, Ash, Suki, and whoever else this may concern.
Hiya! Oka, Harry, and Camilla here. I can't say Hogwarts has been that horrible, because it really hasn't. It has. Oh, Don't listen to her. Shut up Oka. Cammie's just grumpy. Don't worry about her. HEY I'M NOT GRUMPY. Right.
Anyway, things are fine. (Oka's fighting Cammie off with a quill so I guess I'll write for now…) The Potter twins are probably the two most spoilt and annoying people ever. How do people still expect them to go against the dark lord, I have no idea. (Okay Oka is struggling so I'll just-
Okay, let me just say I miss you all so much and everyone here is dumb. Except for us three of course. We're sorted in Slytherin, and this annoying kid won't see sense and I wanted to punch some into him… I miss Shojishima where that would've allowed. You're too violent. You stabbed me with a quill. You don't get to say that.
Well, yeah. Cammie basically said everything there is. Dumbles is being annoying, and everyone has already assumed the twins are Potters. Fun. Anyway, See you guys soon over break- or preferably sooner. How's the 'field trip'? I hope Billy has shut up about the oatmeal. Seeya soon!
Adios,
Oka, Cammie, and Harry.
Smiling fondly at the letter, Oka folded it up in an envelope and summoned her rainbow phoenix, startling quite of a lot of people in the common room. Scratching her neck lovingly, Oka tied the letter to her leg and watched as it disappeared, completely ignoring the looks of awe she received.
Harry had been startled awake by the noise, but not surprisingly to everyone, Camilla was still deep asleep.
A/N: Short, I know. But that's all I could write in the span of one hour or something… Anyway, review if you've got an idea… Or if you noticed major changes in writing styles between the last few chapters and this one.
