GUESS WHAT? THIS STORY'S GOTTEN A LITTLE OVER ONE THOUSAND VIEWS. AIN'T THAT NEAT?

"Eclipse! Secure the pods and head to Holoska! Shadow is coming!"

The Darkling ran as fast as his legs would let him down one of the halls made of organic matter within the Black Comet. Next to him was Doom's Eye, and it was projecting the holographic image of Black Doom himself, who had his arms crossed over his chest and was glaring at Eclipse with his three eyes "I don't want the Dark Arms Genetic Code falling into his, or the Humans', hands. It would give them an advantage against our armies."

Eclipse nodded "Yes sir!"

Just then he reached the organic door he was looking for. It slid open and he, along with the Doom's Eye, entered into the room. Which was a small hanger that had five incubation pods standing in a row, inside of those incubation pods was the DNA capable of creating a new species of Black Arms with the ability to take any organic form they can sink their teeth into. But so far, the Genetic Code had yet to be implemented into any of the Black Arms. Black Doom's image then said "Hurry! The longer you stare at the pods, the closer Shadow gets to gaining the key to our complete extinction!"

Eclipse nodded before running towards one of the organic walls in the room. He placed his hands against it and began to press down on all sorts of small buttons that acted as an organic keyboard. The first command he typed out was for the incubation pods to begin growing a tougher shell in case their landing wasn't as smooth as he'd hope for. Then he ordered an ejection pod made for himself so he could head down to the surface with them. Once the ejection pod was created, and once the incubation pods grew their harder shell, Eclipse typed into the organic keyboard to launch all of the pods out of the Black Comet and down to Holoska's surface. He then quickly ran over to his ejection pod and climbed inside of it, and as the shell began to seal him inside of the pod the Doom's Eye flew over to him and the image of Black Doom said "In the event Shadow is somehow able to overpower me. You will take up the mantel of leader of the Black Arms. You will use the Dark Arms Genetic Code to create a new breed of Black Arms. Then you will use any survivors of the Black Arms, and the next generation, to finally destroy humanity. If I am not overpowered and killed. I will call you, then we will both use the Genetic Code to transform the humans into the perfect food supply for the Black Arms.. Do I make myself clear?"

Eclipse nodded "Yes sir."

Black Doom nodded "Good."

His image then disappeared before the Doom's Eye flew out of the room, right as it did the ejection pod finished sealing Eclipse inside of it. There was a layer of thin matter that let him see through it like dirty glass. He could see the first of the incubation pods be ejected out of the Black Comet, then the next. He watched as pod after pod was ejected out of the Comet before he felt his own pod shake. Then, he felt the ground underneath him open up and he was ejected out of the Comet. He plummeted through the air, picking up more and more speed as he did. His insides began to feel like they were made of goo as his speed increased, his pod passed through cloud after cloud. Before the sound of Human made jet engines began to fill his ears. Then suddenly, he heard a loud explosion before blacking out.

Eclipse bolted up right, eyes wide open, and gasping for air. He had no clue where he was. All he knew was that he was sitting on cold snow, and he was surrounded by the wreckage of his ejection pod and a jumbo jet the Humans had used to evacuate their cities to spare its population from the Black Arms. He then quickly realized the incubation pods were no where to be seen, so he quickly scrambled up to his feet and began to frantically search around his surroundings. But all he found was the remains of Human luggage, and the Humans themselves. One of which he ate upon realizing just how hungry he was. As he began to climb a top the partially intact cockpit of the plane he tried to figure out how long he had been knocked out for. One would try to figure that out by paying attention to the sky, to try and see if the last time they saw the sky was at night or day. But sadly Eclipse hadn't payed that much attention to the sky so he couldn't remember if the last time he saw it was during day or night. Another way he might've been able to tell the amount of time he had missed out on was by seeing if there was any raging battles between the Black Arms and G.U.N. still going on. But sadly, Holoska wasn't attacked as much as the rest of the world. Speaking of Holoska, not long ago he was able to remember he was sent to Holoska by Black Doom. But that was about it, he had no clue where in Holoska he was, and he still didn't know how long he had been out for. He then finally reached the top of the plane's intact cockpit so he could get a better view on his surroundings. For as far as he could see he only saw more snow, although the farther away the snow got from the wreckage of the plane the less debris there was.

He continued to scan his surroundings before finally seeing something. A large trench that looked to have been dug out by a rather circular object, like that of an incubation pod. Eclipse jumped off of the cockpit and sprinted towards the trench, he then ran all the way to its end. Which is where he found a partially damaged pod. Eclipse inspected its shell before letting out a slight chuckle thanks to his complete relief. But that's when he realized he needed to find the other four, and somehow transport them all to one safe location. That's when he came up with an idea. A stupid idea, but an idea none the less. He grabbed onto a chunk of metal that had came off of the plane and climbed on top of the pod. He then used the chunk of metal to crack it open before tossing it aside and reaching into the pod's interior. He grabbed onto something slimy and quickly yanked it out, green slime spraying all over the place when he did. That slimy something was none other than the Genetic Code's protective casing, and if he was going to transport the other pods he'd have to give himself a boost. He jumped off of the pod before setting the protective case down and picking up the chunk of metal. He then spent a few seconds looking for its sharpest side, and once he did he knelt down in front of the casing and used the sharp side to cut his finger. He let his green blood fall onto the casing before waiting a minute or two for his blood to meld with the Genetic Code. Once the minute or so passed he picked the casing back up and raised it up to his mouth. He fidgeted his fingers a little out of nervous energy, before biting down on the protective case's outside.

He began to suck out the Genetic Code, which had successfully melded with his DNA, out of its protective casing. Once he had drained the case of its contents he set it down on the snow and coughed slightly. He felt every nerve in his body begin to tingle as his own DNA and genetic code began to integrate the altered Dark Arms Genetic Code into his system. It was one of the worst feelings he's felt since the first time he trained against Black Doom. But luckily, it was over much faster than his training. Once it did come to an end he stood up and felt his entire body shiver once signaling that the process had done what it was supposed to. He then walked over to the now empty incubation pod before placing his hands on it, and attempting to use the power he should've been granted by the integration of altered Dark Arms Genetic Code into his body. He took in a deep breath before saying "Chaos Control."

In an instant the pod disappeared in a flash of orange light. But as quickly as it disappeared he heard it reappear behind him. He spun around as it dropped onto the snow, standing up right now. A large grin grew across his face as he realized the process had indeed worked. He now had the same powers as Shadow the Hedgehog and all he had to do now was find the pods, then find a place to hide them, and finally just teleport them to the location! Easy peasy! Or as easy as finding four other pods hidden somewhere on a part of the planet that had consistent and heavy snow fall. Sighing slightly, Eclipse began to climb out of the trench so he could being the search for the other incubation pods, but not before teleporting the empty pod to somewhere off the coast of the United Federations so no one could find it again. It had taken him over five hours to find them all, and it was currently taking him more than two to find someplace to hide them. He trudged through the cold snow as the sky began to darken. Night was coming and he would be left exposed to the harsh conditions that night would bring in a place like Holoska. But something was coming into view, it looked like a large mound of snow, but not like a mound that would be made by howling winds. No, it looked like it was made by the Humans to try and hide something, or at the very least the snow had built up around the something the Humans had made. What ever it was, it gave Eclipse hope. He sprinted over to the mound and began to frantically brush snow off trying to find what was hidden underneath it. Until finally, he revealed a rusted mechanism that would open up heavy duty steel doors. He didn't care what it opened up though, so long as he could get inside of it. So he grabbed onto the mechanism, twisted it till he heard a clank, and yanked open a heavy metal door. Snow fell to the ground as the door swung open to reveal an elevator that looked like it hadn't been used in years. The smell that came out of the elevator and its shaft was foul, but that wouldn't stop Eclipse from exploring further.

The ride down the old elevator shaft was quiet, and unnerving. He expected to hear metallic grinding from the sides of the elevator scraping against the shaft, but that never happened. Instead the only metallic groan he heard was from the elevators doors sliding open to reveal a large coal mine that had been left untouched for who knows how long. But the sight of the old mine made a large smile grow across Eclipse's face before he teleported out of it and to the first of the incubation pods. He teleported it to the mine before continuing to the next, then the next, then the last. Once all had been teleported, Eclipse made himself reappear in the mine next to the pods. Now all he had to do was find some way to contact Black Doom and find out if the war was still raging. After an unknown amount of hours of building a shelter inside of the mine for himself and the pods Eclipse sat down on the stone ground and closed his eyes. He reached out to try and speak through the Hive Mind, but all he got was a garbled mess of sounds and feelings. All of which had come from Humans, not the Black Arms. He had to sift through thousands of different Human voices just to find an echo of one of Doom's first commands to ground troops during the Black Arms' invasion. He used the echo to find the next, and then the next. He continued following the echos until he finally found another member of the Black Arms, who it was, Eclipse didn't know. Even still he said through the Hive Mind and to the Black Arms member "This is Eclipse the Darkling, Prince of the Black Arms, Son of Black Doom, and Brother to the Fallen One. I've been unconscious for an unknown amount of time. What have I missed?"

The Black Arms member quickly replied with "Eclipse?! I- It's been seven months since anyone's heard anything from you!"

Seven months? How could that be? No one can be unconscious for seven months and not suffer serious damage. Unless, when the ejection pod collided with the jumbo jet and caused that explosion the pod injected Eclipse with a compound used to put Black Arms soldiers into suspended animation. Which made sense, seeing as how their suspended animation usually lasts for, at most, ten months. The pod couldn't inject Eclipse fully because of the crash. Eclipse then finally said "I was not aware of that.. Listen. I need to know what's happened since I was last conscious. I'm stranded somewhere in Holoska with one of Black Doom's secret projects."

There was silence for a moment, before the Black Arms member hesitantly said "Black Doom.. Died.. Shadow killed him. Even when Doom turned into Devil Doom, Shadow still defeated him. Since then, the Humans have been hunting us down and killing us. There isn't many of us left, and we're all scattered around the world... Please, Prince of the Black Arms, send out a beacon so the Black Arms can find you and regroup."

Despite the fact no one could see him, Eclipse nodded "I will.. But what should I call you?"

"You may call me Grunt sir. I'll await your beacon, until we meet in person sir."

Grunt then disconnected himself from Eclipse, returning the Darkling's mind to the chaos that was the un-united Hive Mind. But, he need more answers so he was going to have to dig deeper. He was going to have to follow Black Doom's echos until he could find his father's memories. So that's just what he started to do, he passed by all sorts of messages to Shadow to try and sway the Hedgehog to the side of the Black Arms. He passed by orders he sent out to the Black Arms themselves, before finally arriving at the end of the trail. The last memories of Black Doom, or in the case of his current state, Devil Doom. He watched as Doom attempted to attack Super Shadow, only for the Super Hedgehog to speed towards him and pierce right through his chest. Eclipse could feel the piercing pain in his chest, before his head was flooded by hundreds of emotions. He felt Devil Doom's agony as he died, he felt the Hive Mind shriek out in unison as the head of the chain was severed, and he felt the pain that the very much alive Black Comet felt as Devil Doom's life came to an end. While one would think that the pain he had just been through was the worst sensation Eclipse could ever think of, things got worse. Because Super Shadow then teleported the Black Comet up to the ARK right as it fired off its Eclipse Cannon, destroying the not quite sentient, but still alive, Black Comet. Eclipse's eyes bolted open as the pain overwhelmed him, he let out a blood curdling scream as he was filled with a sensation of being exploded to a thousand pieces. Before it all ended.

Eclipse the Darkling sighed as he sat up right in his rickety bed "So it's going to be one of those nights, eh?"

For the past few nights now, without fail, he's had the same night terror over and over again. The one he had just been through, and it always woke him up. Although at this point he's stopped caring and has now come to terms with the fact his nightmares don't seem to be stopping anytime soon. Yawning slightly, Eclipse slid out of bed and began to make his way through his house. He passed by the Husks' room and he could hear each one of the snoring loudly, he walked into the living room where he found that Hope's little midnight snack was still left out. He picked up the little clay dish he had made with his own hands and walked into the kitchen, he dumped its contents into a bin that he'd later use to make the Husks' food before moving over to the small pot he used as a sink. But as he did the voice of Shadow suddenly said to him "What are you doing up?"

Eclipse didn't react as quickly as one might think, he was still very tired. So as he began to wash the clay plate he looked over his should and to Shadow, who was standing in the kitchen's doorway "I.. Have night terrors. They wake me up, and I usually can't get back to sleep after I do wake up."

He yawned slightly as he finished, almost as if he were punctuating his point. But he then realized something "Why are you awake Shadow?"

The black and red Hedgehog sighed before walking into the kitchen "I have insomnia.. It's built into me, so it's not actually harming me. It's just annoying."

Eclipse raised an eye-ridge in slight confusion "It's built into you?"

Shadow nodded slightly "Yeah.. Gerald was always paranoid that Black Doom would send someone to either abduct me, or harm Maria. So to prevent something like that from happening, he made it to where I only take short three hour bursts of sleep."

Eclipse nodded as he took the clay plate out of the pot and set it down to dry off. He was silent a moment, before finally asking "What was she to you?"

Shadow chuckled slightly "Heh... She was my sister, she taught me things I needed to know.. That's not to say I was created with the mind of a toddler, because that's not the case. In fact, I may be over fifty years old. But my physical age is either fifteen or eighteen.. Anyways, she taught he how to care for others. How to have hope, how to be kind, gentle, and understanding.. I will never forgive myself for forgetting all of that for so long."

Eclipse hopped up onto the kitchen counter and sat down on it before asking "If you don't mind.. How did- did she die?"

Shadow was silent a moment, a long and awkward moment. Before he finally said "When G.U.N. raided the ARK, after the Biolizard reactivated itself and leaked out several documents on Project Shadow, I took her out of her room and was trying to get her to the observation deck.. But we were found by a group of soldiers. They aimed at me... But when one of them finally fired, Maria jumped in the way and took the bullet for me. I watched as she fell to the ground, I watched as a small blood stain formed on her blue top.. I don't remember much after that, but what I do understand is that after Maria had been shot I flew into a blind fury and killed ever soldier in there... Then, I helped her up and took her to the observation deck. Only for her to somehow trick me into standing on the platform underneath one of the escape pods, and she dropped one on me. Then, with her dying breath, she told me to show the Humans of Earth the same compassion I showed her. I was then ejected out of the ARK.. And from what I can tell, she died in that room not long after that."

Eclipse took a moment to process everything Shadow had just said to him, before saying "I- I'm sorry for making you relive those memories."

Shadow shook his head as he walked over to the side of the counter next to Eclipse, he then leaned against it before saying "No, it's fine. I've moved on..."

Eclipse nodded, before Shadow suddenly said "I don't say this often, and I never thought I'd say this to you.. But Eclipse, I trust you."

The Darkling was shocked to hear Shadow say that. It finally happened! Shadow finally trusted him "Does- Does that mean we're-"

"We're not brothers."

"Y- Yes.. Of course, that'd.. That'd be weird."
