(Revan's AN): You don't have to cue the songs that I state, to be honest, those are the songs that I played frequently while creating the scene, so I put that on. Plus my music taste is probably way different from everyone else's. Anyways, if you guys survive to the end I will be surprised. This was a somewhat bad chapter. Bad as in, it's all over the place.
Full Summary: Tatsumi, the second son of the late Northern King, wasn't like his brother. He wasn't taught how to rule a nation, nor was he taught how to deal with politics. Tatsumi sighed as he walked the halls of his family's crypt. He had never been in it before, and that was mainly because of his father forbidding him from entering it. Now though, his father wasn't around, and his brother and him are the last Seikas left.
"Beowulf Seika, father of Numa Seika and Tatsumi Seika." Tatsumi said as he looked at the sculpted statue of his father, that stood right behind his stone casket.
"We haven't spoken in a while have we father?" Tatsumi said as he glanced at the coffin. "In fact, I don't think, we've spoken with one another in a long time. At least just the two of us. You were always busy with ruling, or teaching Numa how to be a great king like you or grandpa."
"I'm not mad about that though, I believe, the reason why you did that. Why you never wanted to be around me was because of this, because you wanted me to become a warrior." Tatsumi said with a sad smile.
"It had to be right? You wanted me to grow up and be the protector of your kingdom, of our family's lands." He said as he averted his eyes towards the statue. Who's face didn't change once from its solemn expression.
"You know some were calling you Beowulf Seika, the Lion, but I don't think you were a lion." Tatsumi declared with a tear going down his cheek. "I think you were a great dad, and even though you didn't show me the love I wanted as a child, you did teach me how to be a hero."
As he placed his right hand on the casket, Tatsumi said, "I hope there is an afterlife, and I hope we can meet again."
He then glanced at his hand as he removed it from the coffin before walking away towards the next sarcophagus.
"Karliah Seika..." He mumbled as he came to a stop and stared at the figure of his mom. She unlike his father was holding a candle in her hands with a smile on her face. "Mother of Numa Seika and Tatsumi Seika.."
Falling to his knees, he said, "Hey mom, sorry I didn't come to see at all. It's been nearly 19 years, but finally, we're meeting."
"I want to say that I'm sorry, I know it's terrible for a mother not to see their child for such a long time, but dad was keeping me busy, and even after that I was busy protecting Numa. He's alright by the way, I mean we're in a war, but he should be fine. I ordered him not to leave the palace until I return." Tatsumi continued as he looked at his mother who was still smiling.
"I really wish I knew what you were like, dad never talked about you." He began after a couple seconds of silence. "I would like to believe you were a kind and great mother, but I don't know what you were like. I hope Aishela, oh right you don't about her."
Tatsumi scratched the back of his neck as he explained it to her. "Aishela is my soon to be wife, I know soon to be 19 and already getting married. Crazy, but I do love her. She's kind, sweet, caring, and honestly the most beautiful woman in the world. I'm lucky to have her in my life."
With a chuckle, he then says, "It's kind of weird if you think about, I'm the one fighting and laying down my life, yet I worry more about her. I guess that's love when you like someone you care more about them, then yourself."
"Tat~su~mi~." Suddenly spoke a voice, sending a chill down his spine.
The hair on the back of Tatsumi's neck began to rise as he looked around the crypt, only to find no one in sight.
"Who's there?" Tatsumi demanded as he rose to his feet, his hand slowly moving towards the longsword attached to his belt.
He didn't get a response, which made his lips shift downwards a little. His frown deepened when he didn't sense anyone's aura either; he may not have been a master when it came to sensing others presences, but he knew someone was there. He had heard someone spoke, Tatsumi was sure of it.
With his sword half drawn, the Young Wolf continued to search for someone or something but found nothing. With a sigh, he let his sword slide back into its sheath and looked back at his mother's statue.
"I guess I-"
"Tat~su~mi~."
Tatsumi immediately unsheathed his sword and swung it as he turned around, in an attempt to kill the person behind him who whispered into his ear.
To his shock and surprise, no one met his blade, in fact, he didn't see anyone behind him. Entering a top guard stance, Tatsumi said, "Show yourself whoever you are! Stop hiding in the shadows, and reveal yourself!"
For a solid minute, Tatsumi stood vigil, but wasn't greeted by any danger, this vexed him a little. The young prince wasn't prone to violence that easily, but the person was in his ancestral crypt. A place only he and a selected few had access to.
"Tat~su~mi come to me~." Spoke the voice again causing Tatsumi to lower his weapon a little and look around.
"And where are you?" Tatsumi questioned as he continued to scan for the one speaking in the shadows. A thought of a ghost had crossed his mind, but a quick shake of his head made him realize how idiotic that sounded. Devils, angels, ghosts, and all of that didn't exist, they were just made up creatures you would tell kids to spook them.
"Further in the crypt..." The voice replied causing Tatsumi to frown. "Tat~su~mi~ come to me." The voice repeated itself.
Tatsumi didn't say anything in response, he looked over his shoulder towards the exit and thought about leaving. He wasn't one to run away from things, but going deeper into the crypt wasn't something he wanted to do. It wasn't because he was scared or afraid of the dark. He just didn't think it was the best idea to go following a spooky voice in a place of where the dead sleep.
With a sigh, he said, "I'm going to regret this aren't I?"
Tatsumi's thoughts changed the more he delved into the burial site. He didn't know how far he had gone, but Tatsumi was pretty sure that he was on the seventh level.
It also very hot in there, it was to the point where Tatsumi had to remove his fur coat, his cuirass, and the majority of his armor.
As he went further in, the Young Wolf realized that it was probably a ghost calling out to him, or worse a devil. The reason why he started to believe that, was because there was no way a voice could call out to him from this far in the crypt. Sure if it was someone and they screamed he might have heard the faint echo, but that was it.
Plus there was no way the person could continue to hide from him, he had lit a torch and ignited many of the torches on the walls so he could see better. They might have been able to stay hidden for awhile, but this long? It was impossible.
"Closer, you're almost there Tat~su~mi~." The voice declared as Tatsumi rekindled another torch.
"Does it really have to say my name like that?" Tatsumi asked himself as he continued walking down the narrow hallway, occasionally glancing at some of the statues of his ancestors. He couldn't read the names due to the amount of dust and dirt on them, but he could at least distinguish them from being male or female.
He didn't get a response, which was what he expected. The voice didn't say much besides the usual call out to him, and telling him to go further. As he delved deeper, Tatsumi started to feel strange. He didn't know what caused him to feel weird, it just suddenly happened.
Eventually, after who knows how long, the Young Wolf reached the last level of the tomb. He didn't show or say anything, but that strange feeling grew stronger. He didn't know how to describe it, but the feeling he was experiencing felt good.
He was starting to feel more, and more relaxed the further he walked.
"Tat~su~mi~." The voice said once again for the millionth time.
"Yes?" He asked as he looked around. He assumed it was telling him to stop, but the lines it said were just 'Tatsumi.' or 'Tatsumi come to me.'
"Go to where the first King of the North rests." The voice declared causing Tatsumi to frown somewhat.
"Okay-"
"Other way." The voice said as Tatsumi started moving to his left.
"My bad," Tatsumi said after a couple of seconds, he was pretty sure he was crazy now, but he needed to see what was crying out to him. If there was nothing, then he would go back home and never mention this to anyone.
After a couple minutes, the young prince reached the end of the hallway of statues and caskets and stood before a doorway. The door was a massive stone door that looked like it hadn't been opened in ages.
"I'm seriously going to regret this." He muttered to himself as he began to open the door, it was a tedious task and required him to put a lot of his strength into it, but after a solid minute, he was able to pry the door open.
His eyes widened when he entered the chamber. The room was nothing like he expected. His expectations were a room full of spiders and cobwebs along with dust and dirt everywhere.
Instead, he was greeted by the sight of a room full of light. There were standing torches leading up to the casket of his ancestor, but what made these standing beacons stick out to him; was that they had purplish blue flames. The torch in his right hand was the usual orange. Standing though right behind the coffin of his ancestor, was a massive statue that dwarfed all the other ones.
"Woah." Was all he could say as he stared at the figure; nearly dropping his flare in the process. After several seconds he began to move towards the sarcophagus, and as he did the strange feeling he got grew more and more after each step.
He eventually made it to his ancestor's casket, and even more to his surprise he could read the name of the first king and the short description of who he was.
"Asumoto Seika, King of the North, wielder of Cosmetic Judgement: Hofund, and surrogate brother of Emperor Katsumoto."
A small frown formed on his face as he contemplated the information. He knew the first King of the North was Asumoto Seika, but that was all he knew about the first, Ruler of the North.
"Open the coffin." The voice spoke, startling Tatsumi.
"What?" Tatsumi nearly shouted as he looked at the casket. "Why would I do that?"
"Do you want to win your war?" The voice spoke causing Tatusmi to flinch, he was about to respond, but the voice spoke again. "I knew everything about you the moment we made a connection, all we need to do is bind ourselves to one another."
"What are you!?" Tatsumi demanded as he backed up a little. He didn't bother hiding the fear.
"Release me, and I will tell you everything." The voice stated only making Tatsumi worry more.
He thought about leaving the room, he thought of just running away and leaving whatever the hell was going on right now, but what this thing said made him think. What if there was something in his ancestor's coffin? What if there was a power that was locked away with his relative that could help him win the war?
With a sigh, he put his hands on the stone lid of the sarcophagus and began to remove it.
Upon removing it, Tatsumi was faced with an item. There was no bones, no pieces of cloth, or anything like that. There was just a sword in it, not just any sword, a greatsword. The blade was silver, that appeared to shine bright, brighter than a diamond. Its guard was a dark golden color, unlike his sword's guard, the blade's guard was curved slightly upwards. It's grip, was a dark maroon red color with strange engravings on it. The pommel had the same dark golden color, but in the center of it was a strange silver symbol.
"You're..." Tatsumi started not knowing what to say. "A sword?"
"Wield me, and you shall see what I truly was." Replied the voice.
Tatsumi thought about it for a second before shrugging. "Very well-" He began as he reached for the sword, upon grabbing the blade the words died in his mouth. A blue light shot out from his mouth and eyes.
The last thing he heard was, "Welcome to my domain."
"Arrggggh!" Grunted a beautiful female with dark brown hair and blue eyes as she clutched her swollen belly. She was wearing a simple gown. "Beowulf I think the baby is coming!"
"It is?" Beowulf said in surprise as he moved to the woman's side. "Are you sure!? Are you sure it wasn't a kick or something like that?
"I'm-"
"What is this?" Tatsumi asked causing everything to come to a halt as he walked up to his mother and father. "What am I witnessing?"
"Your birth." The voice replied as a spark of purplish blue flames appeared next to him. A second later the fire exploded and created a two-headed human being, who was made up of the purplish blue flames. Instead of hair, they had blue flames that roared like a campfire, they didn't have any shirt which revealed their very muscular build, but they did have black and silver pants. On the being's neck was a purplish jewel necklace that matched its flaming skin.
"This was the day you entered the world." The two-headed person declared.
"Why are you showing this to me?" Tatsumi questioned as he looked at the entity.
"Because this is where your father first judged you." The being replied before snapping his fingers causing time to resume.
"-sure! My water just broke!" Karliah said in an angry tone as she glared at Beowulf.
"Takeo!" Beowulf shouted as he looked at the door as his wife release another grunt, not even a second later, a younger Takeo and a few other King's Guard came storming into the room.
"My King!" Takeo said with his half drawn. Seeing his queen like that he put two and two together, and said to one of the other King's Guard. "Fetch the doctors! The Queen is going into labor!"
"Understood, Lord Commander!" Spoke two of them with a quick salute before running out of the room as Takeo approached the bed.
Tatsumi watched the scene play out in silence, he watched as his mother continued to release agonizing moans of pain, and he watched his father speak very encouraging words to his mother.
As well to him.
"I killed her..." Tatsumi said as time came to a stop, and he averted his gaze to the two-headed person. "Didn't I?"
"Yes." Came the being's response. "there was a problem, and your mother had a choice. She could allow the doctors to cut open her belly to get you out, and risk possibly dying, or use other means and risk you dying."
Tatsumi didn't say anything at first. He looked at his mother's face for a long time before saying, "This is why my father treated me like that. I was responsible for her death."
"You were." The entity said as the world around them vanished into literally nothing. "Now that you know the truth about your father's judgment on you. Do you still view him as a good father? Even though he blamed you for your mother's death?"
"Yes," Tatsumi affirmed instantly. "He may not have shown me the love I wanted, but he still was my father, and just because he didn't show me love doesn't mean he was a bad person. He was still good, honorable, and kind to his people."
The being's white orbs stared at Tatsumi for a solid minute, before nodding its heads. "I see, I guess you are worthy to wield me."
"You keep saying that as if I understand-"
"I am Cosmetic Judgment: Hofund, I am the second Imperial Arms created. I was wielded by only one other. Asumoto Seika, he had perfect synchronization with me." The Imperial Arms explained prompting Tatsumi to shut his mouth.
"We must now bind ourselves to one another." The entity said as he reverted back to a small spark. "Don't bother asking for you will not understand."
"Wait what do you-GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He began to ask only to suddenly cry out in agonizing pain as the spark enter his chest.
He continued to scream for what seemed like hours to him. Tatsumi felt like his entire body was on fire, and believed that his body was going to be reduced to nothing but cinders.
Eventually, after god knows how long his screeching came to an end.
"We're now one." Was all he heard before falling unconscious.
(Revan's AN): Okay, if you somehow understood what was going on then I give you props. If you didn't and are going like:
"What the fuck is happening? What was that weird ass shit I just read?" Then you reacted correctly. So I had somewhat of a writer's block, now what I mean is that I didn't know how to write a scene. (I actually wrote this chapter six times, and I hated all six of them, so I deleted them. I guess it wasn't writer's block, more of me just not liking the scene I guess.) Yeah, I just couldn't write it, but then someone gave me a clever idea. Well, he gave me the name of the Imperials Arms and I was like "I need to do this."
So I basically changed the entire plot, I changed some stuff in the first chapter (Like ten words) and decided to give him an Imperial Arms. Now his discovery was kind of weird, but oh well. I mean I could have done a better job with it, but this was kind of a half-cocked idea. Anyways, I'm rambling. What I'm trying to say is that he has an Imperial Arms, which means the fight I'm building up for against Esdeath shall be glorious. I know this wasn't the best introduction of an Imperial Arms, but as I say to haters in SMITE. You can't win em all. It was bad, but it was either this or waiting for God knows how long.
Cosmetic Judgement: Hofund (Seriously that just sounds sick in my opinion!)
