(:Max:)
The Impala speeds down a dark country road with Sam behind the wheel, a look of determination on his face. Max sits quietly behind him, her mind racing as she stares blankly out the window.
Max had seen a lot of death in her young eleven years and understood quite a bit about battle wounds but Dean hadn't been in a battle nor was he even in training. Max was a frequent bleeder when it came to work, she always seemed to be ending up with a scrap or two. 'But Dean… I didn't seen a wound on him or anything.'
"Why is Dean hurt?" She questions lightly, trying hard not to bother Sam to much while he focuses on the long stretch of road ahead.
"Someone bad is using something very dangerous to hurt him and I'm going to go put a stop to it…" Sam replies, his voice and jaw clenched tightly.
"What if he dies?" Max's voice is timid, her golden eyes wide as she watches Sam closely. She could feel the negativity that surrounds them and she shudders.
"No…Max just no… He won't, Dean will be fine. You-you shouldn't ask questions like that so bluntly." Sam sighs and runs a hand through his hair, his chocolate eyes grow misty and he presses a bit harder on the gas.
"But… He could, couldn't he? I-I've seen a lot of people pass Sam, a-a lot of them bled from their mouths like that before…"Max's words trail off as she replies, her voice filled with confusion, she begins to nibble at her lips. Her eyes dart around worriedly, recognizing the area from earlier in the day.
"Max… Enough!" Sam snaps unintentionally. Max's eyes flare, her golden orbs change into glowing pits of lava.
"No…. It's the truth and you want me to be honest with you right? Dean….he- he might not make it and you should be there with him." Max glares at the back of Sam's head as she replies.
"Max you just wouldn't understand…" Sam answers before slamming on the brakes, putting the car in park and quickly stepping out. "Stay here and don't move, I'll be right back." He barks out before snapping the door shut and taking long strides into the house.
(:VAN ALLEN HOUSE:)
Elizabeth, Renee and Tammi are sat around the coffee table again with the altar set up, they chant in unison.
"Kihér tolic echranmuk, madan fiéré, marc oh don duer kianave-"
Sam kicks in the front door wordlessly and the women scream out of fear, they stand quickly their hand raised in easy surrender. He enters the living room with the colt drawn.
"Let him go." Sam demands angrily.
"Let who go? What are you doing here? You're insane, get out!" Renee snaps and glares, though her hands shake none the less.
"Look, if you know about me, then you know about this gun. You're killing my brother. Now let him go and step away from the altar." Sam nudges them in the direction he wants with the tip of the colt, his eyes staying glued to the women.
"What?" Renee questions with her eyebrows drawn together confused and slightly frightened.
"Now!"Sam shouts, his voice filled with venom and loud.
They all move away from the altar as Sam keeps the Colt trained on them, cocked and ready. Elizabeth, Renee and Tammi move over into the front of the fireplace on shaky legs.
"What- we- we weren't hurting anyone." Elizabeth pleads weakly. "Please, we don't even know your brother."
"Stop the spell, or die. Five seconds." Sam sneers while he begins to count.
"What?" Renee squeaks with fear.
"Four."
"No, please, please don't kill us. We were just getting Renee a lower mortgage rate!" Elizabeth pleads again, her face wet with tears. Sam looks confused but still holds the gun at ready.
"Okay, So Maybe it's not you but… it might be you?" Sam questions, his dark eyes calculating as he changes from pointing at Elizabeth to Tammi.
"I don't even know what he's talking about. What a–re you even talking about?" Tammi replies flustered and slightly frightened.
"I mean, all of you, everyone in your little coven, you've all had runs of good fortune. Newsworthy good fortune. Except for you, Tammi. Now tell me, why is that? You didn't want anything for yourself? Or is it because you're already getting what you wanted – like these women's souls." Sam sneers and then smirks nastily.
"I can't- I-I'm not- I-I-I don't…" Tammi then sighs, letting her explanation cut short as she lets her hands fall to her sides. She goes from looking frightened to calm in a second and her eyes change to black revealing that she is the demon Ruby had warned him about. The other women gasp, looking shocked.
"Nice dick work, Magnum." She replies sarcastically and smirks.
"Let. My brother. Go." Sam demands again, this time the gun is pointing directly to her head.
"What's wrong? Couldn't find my hex bag? Sorry, sweetheart, but your brother's lungs should be on the floor by now." As she speaks the demons tongue clicks in disappointment. Sam fires the Colt suddenly but the bullet slows before it has time to reach Tammi, she lifts her hand up and the bullet loses momentum, stops, and falls to the floor.
"You're in a lot of trouble, Sammy." Snarks Tammi as she pins Sam against a wall. "Got any comments? Questions? Hmm, Sammy Winchester, wow! Right here in our little town. You know, my friends and I, we've been looking for you."
"Why? Oh, right, 'cause I'm supposed to lead some piss poor demon army."Sam replies harshly while his throat is being slowly crushed.
"No, not at all. You're not our Messiah. We don't believe in you. But, there's a new leader rising in the West – a real leader. That's the horse to bet on, Sam, the one who's gonna tear this world apart. Thing is, this demon? It doesn't like you very much. It doesn't want the competition." Tammi smirks, her lips taking on a villainess shape. She then raises her hand again and Sam slides further up the wall, groaning, and suspended against it cracking the wood behind him.
"Nothing personal, it's a P.R. thing, so, buh-bye." Tammi pouts as she goes to deliver the final blow.
Elizabeth stands there watching, frozen in fear when suddenly the front door to the house slams open once again. Dean runs in with his shotgun drawn and Tammi turns around easily throwing him over the sofa, when he gets back to his feet she swiftly pins him to the wall to.
"Two for one. How Lovely." Tammi comments her eyes flicking back to black as she takes another step closer to the brothers. Ruby's voice cuts in before Tammi can finish what she's started.
"Wait."Ruby walks in with her hands raised in surrender. "Please. I just … came to talk." Ruby takes a step closer as she speaks and lets her hands fall down to her sides lightly.
"You made it out of the gate. Impressive. That was a bitch of a fight, wasn't it?" Tammi smiles and growls happily.
"Doors out of Hell only open for so long." Ruby comments, glad to have grabbed the other demons attention.
"What do you want, Ruby?" Tammi snaps. "I have work to finish, so make this quick." As she speaks, Tammi begins to crack her knuckles.
"I've been lost without you. Take me back. That's why I led the Winchesters here." Rubys voice is sickeningly sweet as she steps over the body of a very dead Renee. Dean angrily shoots a glare towards Sam and mouths 'I told you so.'
"They're for you … as a gift. Let me serve you again. I've wanted it – I've wanted you – for so long." Ruby continues on as Dean lifts his eyebrows at this hot-demon-chick on hot-demon-chick flirtation.
"You always were one of my best." Sighs Tammi in an almost accepting manner and the two demons share a look before Ruby pulls out her knife and tries to stab Tammi. "But then again, you always were a lying whore." She speaks as she catches the knife mid air, flinging it sideways out of both of their hands and across the hard wood floor, closer to the front door.
Tammi and Ruby begin to fight hand to hand, Tammi with all her strength throws RUBY into the TV. Ruby stumbles as she try's to stand but then moves forward quickly to kick Tammi in the chest, the demon then goes to rush past her opponent. Tammi doesn't let that happen as she clotheslines Ruby causing her to fall flat onto her back, she then pulls Ruby up and throws her into a bookcase. Tammi pauses, looking down at the bloody heap on the floor and then strolls over to the fireplace to pick out a poker from the stand on the hearth. She spares a glance at Elizabeth who is still cowering away from her, before she walks back to Ruby with the poker in hand.
"So you're really telling me you threw in your chips with Abbott and Costello over here?" Questions Tammi sarcastically as Ruby, panting and bloody tries to get up. Tammi backhands her across the face with the fireplace poker harshly and then laughs. Elizabeth unable to stomach any more runs to the altar and dumps a bunch of pins out of a bowl onto the cloth with the demonic symbols.
"Come on. Get up." Tammi taunts Ruby before hitting her once more. "I said, get up!" She shouts venomously and glares down at the unmoving mass of demon. Tammi then tosses the poker aside and crouches over Ruby's body, grabbing her by the jacket while pulling her up. "We've been here before, haven't we?" Tammi chuckles to herself and then sends a look over to Sam.
"What? She didn't tell you?"Tammi questions before turning back to Ruby and continuing. "Pretty mortifying I guess. She was one of mine. I turned her out a long, long time ago. Ruby here was a witch. Of course that was when you were human. Huh, Ruby?"
Sam and Dean both look surprised even though they are still pinned to their respective walls. Tammi throws Ruby back down onto the debris of the bookcase she crashed through and growls in annoyance.
"Didn't want your friends to know that all those centuries back you sold yourself to me? Embarrassing, I guess. But don't worry love, no secrets where you're heading remember?" Tammi then begins to chant and black smoke slowly rises out of Ruby's mouth curling and hovering inches above her. "Monyé valack forsa, ulu iri regatt ruac, fieesh nieesh forthsa lé inmist infirum forthsa por un betest a té un fornalles ecclaisee-"
Dean still pinned to the wall, notices movement out of the corner of his eyes. The hazel green orbs narrow in on Max in the doorway, he doesn't move nor does he make a sound as he silently hopes the little girl goes unnoticed by the demon. Dean watches in horror as Max surveys the damage, her golden eyes finding his before continuing on mutely. She then bends down to collect the discarded knife.
To everyone surprise Tammi pauses in her actions to cough loudly, she instantly notices Elizabeth is chanting under her breath at the altar. As Tammi coughs harder she brings her right hand up to her mouth and spits up a handful of long pins, her lips now bloody as she glares at Elizabeth. She then raises bloody hand, pins dropping to the floor and clenches it into a fist. Elizabeth's breath catches and her eyes go wide as her heart stops she then falls onto the altar, dead.
Max had seen enough, her golden eyes scan the room angrily as she comes to the conclusion that Sam and Dean are in danger. She flinches when she realizes that the reason why is the odd women from the dinner. The one that blew her a kiss and gave her the chills. Max steels herself and growls, grabbing the sudden attention of the room.
"Well, well… If it isn't the little science projects? The humans "secret weapon" standing before my very own eyes. You know- I heard a bunch of you super soldiers ran away, never thought I'd get to kill one." Tammi sneers, her bloody teeth glinting in the light.
"Max, Run!" Dean shouts as he struggles against an invisible barrier.
"Yeah, Max why don't you run and give the adults some time to play. I can always catch up to you later." Tammi mocks and then winks at her.
"Your a bad person." Max states solemnly as she stands her ground, her eyes darken and she growls deeply again while glaring at the standing demon.
"Yeah and what are you gonna do about it kid?" Tammi snaps rudely.
"I'm going to put you down." Max replies with resolution as she takes a step forward. "You seem to know about me, so you know what must happen next right?" Her voice eerie and calm.
"Oh kid… I'm going to enjoy this." Tammi throws up her hand expecting Max to fly backwards and become pinned to the wall but she doesn't. Instead Max takes another step closer. "Just what-what the hell are you?" Tammi questions worriedly.
"I'm Max… And I won't let you hurt Sam or Dean anymore." Max then uses her speed to flash behind the Demon and thrust the knife into her back, Tammi howls in pain as she falls to the floor stone cold dead. Max then removes the knife from the wound and wipes the blood onto the body's clothes. The brothers drop to the floor in shock over what has happened and as they both stand they stare at Max, mouths open wide while a heavy silence wraps itself around them.
"You need to go." Ruby snaps them all back to reality with her words, she looks at them with slight embarrassment and wipes away traces of blood from her nose. "I'll clean up this mess." She then nods to the door asking them to silently leave. "And leave the knife kid."
