Chapter Ten
Atemu woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door.
"Enter!" Atemu called with a yawn, blinking when he noticed that Yami had snuggled up against his side and was now resting with his head against the Pharaoh's chest.
A young servant opened the door and bowed low to her Pharaoh. "Forgive the interruption, Pharaoh, but dinner is ready," the servant said.
"Understood. Thank you. You may go," Atemu said.
The servant nodded and quickly left the room, shutting the door behind herself.
"Yami, wake up," Atemu said, gently shaking Yami.
"Go away," Yami muttered, rolling away from Atemu.
Atemu chuckled. "No. It's time for dinner," Atemu replied.
Yami groaned and slowly opened his eyes, blushing when he found an amused Pharaoh looking down at him.
"Up already," Atemu said, standing up and stretching.
Yami blushed and did the same before he sat down and pulled his shoes on once again.
Atemu made sure he was wearing his cape, shoes and Nemes Headdress before he took Yami's hand and led him out of the room.
Yami blushed, finding Atemu's hand surprisingly soft but firm.
Atemu felt how Yami's hands were soft and his fingers were long and thin.
Yami yawned and looked around the palace, tilting his head when he noticed a sound coming from a nearby pot.
He narrowed his eyes and walked over to the pot, a scream escaping him when someone jumped up and grabbed him.
Atemu's eyes widened when he saw a slave kissing the surprised Yami, her legs still hidden in the pot while her arms held Yami firmly pressed against the pot.
"Let her go!" Atemu shouted, yanking Yami away from the girl.
Yami blinked in surprise, his mind racing as he tried to work out what had happened.
"You dare touch MY Habibi?!" Atemu shouted.
Yami blinked and curled away from Atemu slightly, thinking the Pharaoh was talking to him.
Atemu was looking between them both, looking totally furious at them both.
Yami looked at the Pharaoh sadly, walking further down the hall when Atemu got distracted by the girl that had kissed him.
He kept walking and eventually got lost in the halls of the palace.
He was a little homesick and Atemu's angry side only made him scared.
Atemu was too busy yelling at the girl that had kissed his Habibi to notice that Yami had walked away from him and disappeared into the maze of halls within the palace.
"Where did the girl go?" the slave asked, interrupting the Pharaoh's shouts.
Atemu frowned and looked around, groaning softly when he noticed that the boy from the future was missing.
The slave watched as the Pharaoh disappeared.
She sighed and climbed out of the pot she had been hiding in.
The slave is named Gollanda and she is taller than most people and she has a brilliant brown skin tone. The tone made her hot pink eyes stand out. Her eyes are large and semi-round. She has a button nose and thick lips that she painted red with lip stick. Her cheek bones are sharp and her hair is as black as night. It parted to the right and curled just below her ears, her hair falling to her nipple line. She is thin and has D cup breasts.
Gollanda is wearing a knee length, cream skirt and a loose-fitting shirt of the same colour. A cloth belt kept the outfit together and her feet are bare.
Gollanda walked down the hall in the opposite direction to where the Pharaoh had walked off to.
She is sixteen and can escape the life of a slave if she can find a husband and produce an heir, or if she finds a female lover and gets a sign from the gods that they were meant to be.
Gollanda wasn't into men so the only option that she has is to find a female lover and hope the gods give her a sign that she is meant to be with this woman.
She kept walking until she saw a familiar pale skinned boy.
Gollanda tilted her head, curious about the Pharaoh's reaction to her kissing this girl.
Yami noticed the pink eyes that looked so much like his own, recognising the girl as the one that had kissed him not long ago.
"I must have done a full lap of the palace already," Yami muttered to himself.
"You sound like a man but look like a girl. Why?" Gollanda asked.
Yami turned beat red. "I do not look like a girl!" Yami snapped.
"Yes, you do. You're even wearing girls' clothes," Gollanda replied.
"I can't help that. I only have what the Healer gave me at the temple," Yami said.
"Hmmm… What is the go between you and the Pharaoh?" Gollanda asked, walking to stand a few feet in front of Yami.
"What do you mean?" Yami asked.
"I mean… He calls you his Habibi. Why? Are you two lovers?" Gollanda asked.
"What does Habibi even mean?" Yami asked.
"You don't know?" Gollanda asked, seeing Yami shake his head. "It means beloved."
"Uh… I have no idea why he calls me that. We're not lovers," Yami replied.
Gollanda looked at Yami curiously. "That's odd. Oh! My name is Gollanda," Gollanda said, bowing slightly to Yami.
"My name is Yami," Yami replied with a smile.
Gollanda's eyes widened when she heard that name, dropping to her knees and bowing down to Yami like she would normally do her Pharaoh.
Yami groaned and helped Gollanda to her feet. "Please don't do that. It only makes me want to go home more," Yami said.
Gollanda tilted her head as she looked at the god on Earth.
Yami sighed. "Will you be my friend?" Yami asked.
He had a strange feeling about this girl and his instincts were telling him that she would be a good friend, despite how they had met.
"You really want me to be your friend?" Gollanda asked.
Yami nodded. "As long as you promise not to kiss me again," Yami replied with a smile.
Gollanda smiled and nodded. "I promise," Gollanda said.
Yami smiled brightly at Gollanda. "Thank you. Now… I'm supposed to be having dinner with the Pharaoh," Yami said.
"Oh… I'll show you to the dining room," Gollanda said.
Yami followed Gollanda through the halls, the two talking softly to one another.
"Yami! Where the hell did you run off to?!" Atemu shouted as he ran over to the boy.
"Sorry, Ate'. I did a loop of the palace and then spoke to Gollanda. We were heading to the dining room," Yami replied with a blush.
Atemu glared at Gollanda.
"Be nice to my friend," Yami growled, glaring at the Pharaoh as he moved to stand in front of Gollanda. "We have an agreement and you won't take my only friend away from me."
"You can't be friends with a slave," Atemu said sternly.
Yami narrowed his eyes, resisting the urge to slap the Pharaoh. "I can be friends with whoever the hell I want. You can butt out of my life!" Yami snapped.
"No. You will not interact with slaves. That's final!" Atemu replied.
Yami growled and slapped Atemu hard before he grabbed Gollanda's wrist and led his darker skinned friend away from his angry roommate.
Atemu's eyes widened and he placed a hand against his stinging cheek. "You slapped me!" Atemu shouted after Yami, a few people turning to the Pharaoh.
They were in just as much shock as the Pharaoh.
No normal person dares to touch the Pharaoh, but someone has slapped Atemu and he wasn't prepared for that.
Atemu growled and let Yami walked away, heading to the dining room on his own.
Yami led Gollanda out of the palace and the two started looking around the city.
"Weren't you supposed to be going to dinner?" Gollanda asked as they walked.
"I wasn't that hungry," Yami replied, looking around at the stores.
"You look like you've never seen these markets," Gollanda said with a chuckle.
"I only saw it on the way in but I wasn't allowed to look around. Care to check out the stalls with me?" Yami asked.
"I'm in," Gollanda replied with a smile.
She hadn't had a good chance to look at the markets either and she was really curious like Yami was.
The two walked around, looking at the stalls and talking to the people.
Yami saw people trading gold pieces for foods, fabrics, jewellery and many other items.
Some people were buying kittens and other animals.
Yami heard a faint sound in the far corner of the markets, human ears being unable to hear it.
Yami found that his senses were increasing the longer that he stayed in the past.
His eyesight was improving, and he could hear things clearer than others.
"Follow me, Gollanda," Yami said, walking towards a stall that was near the outskirts of the city.
Gollanda frowned and followed Yami, wondering where the boy was going. "Where are we going?" Gollanda asked.
"I don't know. Just follow," Yami replied, a glazed over look in his eyes as he walked.
Gollanda frowned and silently followed the boy.
They both stopped and their eyes widened when they arrived at the final store and saw what Yami had been hearing.
"Oh my Ra," Gollanda gasped, hands coming up to her mouth.
TBC...
Please tell me what you thought.
