I do not own Harry Potter only the OC's and the plot.
Chapter 10
So it was inevitable, the day of the party finally arrived much to my displeasure. To say my mother was a nightmare was an understatement. I thought the days coming up to the party were going to be bad but this was much, much worse. My mother was a dragon lady who spent most her time in a panicked frenzy and she was a little hard to deal with. It was not like we were unprepared it was that my mother was convinced I was going to make a break for it, believe me it was tempting. My mother's fear that I would leave had led to her not letting me out of her sight. I'm pretty sure she listened to me while I was using the bathroom, not only that, she was also intercepting my post.
We had been up since six getting everything ready and I was tired and irritable. Like myself my mother was irritable which was in total contrast to my father's calm demeanour. He was also trying to keep my mother from me for fear I explode at her, as you can imagine he was unsuccessful in the matter. The only time I had gotten to talk to him was when my mum went to get her parents.
"I'm sorry about your mother Isadora. She just thinks you are going to make a break for it. You can't really blame her though, your birthday was...unexpected." my father spoke as we moved a table into the corner of the room. "I know that dad, it's just, well she is overbearing. Also your timing was not good on my birthday. Also if I was going to leave I would have done it when you let me sneak out to meet my friends. I mean as much as I hate this whole predicament I know that it's inevitable and there is nothing I can do about it." I replied grabbing a stack of crystal glasses and setting them out on the table. My father rounded the table and hugged me tight, "We really are sorry." he muttered into my hair. At that moment I knew that I was really going to hurt them. They were only doing what they thought was best.
An hour later my mother flooed in with my grandparents, their usually stern feature soft. So I know I have mentioned that my father was very stereotypical pureblood in his youth, however his parents were not. It's funny though when I looked at my dad parents I don't see purebloods, when I looked at my mums, I do. They just had an aura that screamed pureblood supremacy, but not today. Today they seemed like actual people,
"Isadora." my grandmother spoke, she walked over to be and placed her hands either side of my face, "I can't believe how beautiful you have become." I smiled at her, kissing her on the cheek.
Then Acantha made her way into the ballroom, husband in tow, thus my grandmother quickly forgot about me . The prospect of a grandchild was far more important than I was. Acantha was the favourite grandchild. I had accepted that. For my family I was a little too much to handle. I was always searching for fun, ignoring the rules. I bid my grandmother goodbye but it was my grandfather that pulled me out into the hall for a chat.
"How are you feeling?" He asked placing a kiss on my forehead and smiling at me. His features soft, making him look years younger. I smiled sadly, "Scared and not ready." I replied truthfully, because I was scared of what was going to happen and I wasn't ready for the engagement and my escape plan but it was going down tonight whether or not I wanted it to. I hugged him tight fully aware that it probably wasn't the best thing to do, but I needed it. I took a step back and smiled at him, "I'm okay, I promise." I smiled before heading up to my room to start getting ready for tonight. I glanced at the dress hanging up, my dress. I sighed and lay down on my bed kicking my shoes off.
"Isadora can I come in?" my sister asked from outside my door. "Come in!" I shouted, she pushed the door revealing Sirius. She laughed as I launched myself off my bed and into his arms. We both started laughing. I turned to Acantha, " How did you get him here?" I asked, running and hugging her. "Well I thought you could do with your best friend. See, I'm not that bad." she stuck her tongue out at me, "Now keep the noise down mum and dad don't know her is here, so PLEASE be careful...and don't do anything stupid."
Once she was gone I hugged Sirius tightly. Once we broke apart he started wandering around my room as I went to grab things for my bath. He went to my dress pulling it out of the cover and whistled, "I'm not going to lie but the men young and old will be falling for you, I know I would if I didn't know you." I raised my eyebrow, "What'd that supposed to mean?" Sirius scoffed and looked at me, "You are too much hassle, your stubborn and argumentative but you are also lovable so...yeah. Too much hassle." I laughed punching him in the arm before leaving him to go take a bath.
Fifteen minutes later I left my bathroom to find Sirius drinking out of a bottle of fire whiskey. That stupid smirk on his face. He was half dressed in his dress robes, well the pants and his white t-shirt that he'd had on when he arrived. I shook my head at him, I was not surprised to see him drinking. This day was going to be stressful on him too. I took the bottle from his hand and took a swig, the back of my throat burning as the fiery liquid went down.
I began to hear footsteps coming towards my door, I grabbed the bottle off Sirius and pushed him off the bed, " Hide under the bed, please." I whispered, helping him push his bags under with him. I emerged just in time for my mother and sister to walk in to help me with my make-up, dress and hair. I smiled at them, this would all be over soon. Acantha raised an eyebrow at me and I just shrugged, letting her know that he was out of sight. My mother came over to me holding my face, thank you for being so cooperative with all this. I smiled at her and she kissed my cheek before guiding me to my dressing table to do my hair.
It took hours for me to get ready and it was an hour before the party when my mother and sister left to get themselves ready for the party. The last thing I had to do was get into the dress. I sat down on my bed and Sirius appeared beside me, "They seem really excited." he stated, his face as guilty as my own. "I never asked for this to happen. I just want to decide my own future." I replied defensively. He wasn't calling me out on it, he was just admitting the truth. They were happier than they should be. I sighed getting off my bed and grabbing the dress and telling Sirius to go into one of the spare rooms. At least no one find him there.
Once in my bathroom I gave myself a good hard look, I could do this. I might break their hearts in the process but it was what I wanted or at least what I needed. I slipped into the dress and was a little taken away by the whole look. I looked good. I could definitely say that I picked a good dress. I ran my hands over the material, feeling for the first time in a long time beautiful and if not empowered. I sat in my room pacing making sure everything was in place for tonight. So that everything would run smoothly.
It wasn't long before my father came to collect me and bring me downstairs so that I could greet the guests, after all it was my party. "You look beautiful Isadora. Had your marriage not been arranged all the men would fall in love with you. " He smiled kissing my cheek gently. I smiled at him, "I highly doubt that." I muttered under my breath. He took my arm and we descended down the stairs. I caught sight of Sirius who winked at me. I laughed a little.
The moment I was downstairs, I was paraded around, politely engaging in conversations with my father's colleagues. I wasn't exactly what I wanted to do. I longed to find my way over to Sirius and Oliver who were talking. However I was the diligent and charming youngest child of my father. As I was being brought around my father introduced me to his assistant at work, I young man of 21, he smiled at me.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, I often hear your father talk of you. I'm Alexander Haywood." He extended his hand to me. Which I took graciously, and smiled. "I'm sure he does, he most likely complains about me being stubborn." I smirked as my mother called my father leaving me with Alexander. I asked him about work and then the two of us just started flirting. It was like a default setting for me.
It had appeared that for the time being my father had forgotten about me as he helped my mother tell everyone of the fact they were soon to be grandparents. At this point, I had lost sight of Sirius and Oliver so I was left at this boring party that was being held for me.
"Hey do you want to get out of here for a little bit, to be honest I hate this party." I asked suggestively, grabbing his hand. He smiled at me, "Whatever you want." He followed me up the stairs, I pushed him into one of the spare rooms. What I wanted right now was a seriously good make out session. So I did just that, he pushed me onto the bed, straddling me as my dress didn't offer me the greatest movement. I felt him begin to hike up the bottom of my dress, not that he could get it that far. However now I was able to flip our position. I smiled running my hand over his chest, unbuttoning his shirt.
"Merlin's beard you have got one hell of a body, did you play quidditch?" I asked kissing him again. "Yeah I was a beater in school, and a bloody good one too." He smirked pulling down the zip of my dress, his hands as the touched my skin sending a shiver down my body. He pulled me in for a fiery kiss, our hands exploring each other. Somehow during this time my dress had made its way to the floor as had the remainder of his clothes, leaving the two of us in nothing but our underwear. He moved on top of me pressing light kisses down my neck and down my body until he stopped at the edge of my underwear. Fuck I was in heaven. He stopped there his eyes asking me for my permission. I nodded.
He smirked at me and hooked his finger onto the strap of my underwear, slowly taking them off. The knot in my stomach began to grow. It had been a while since any guy had been with me, albeit Aaron but I had not been able to see him since I arrived home. He slowly kissed up the inside of thigh, he ran his tongue over my folds, flicking the bundle of nerves. My body shiver at his touch and I pulled him back to me, his hard dick was pressed into my thigh, and I pulled his boxer briefs down, releasing it. I didn't focus on what was really happening, but next thing I knew he was thrusting into me, hitting my good spot, I could feel my walls tightening around him, with a few final thrusts I let go, I moaned out his name and not long after her came too, calling my name. We were tangled in the sheets of the bed, chatting when my sister burst in.
"Haywood get out now!" Acantha shouted, Alexander got out of the bed, and quickly putting his close back on before giving me a kiss goodbye and dashing out of the room. I stared up at my sister in shock and anger, "What the hell Acantha, why did you do that?" I exclaimed as I began to put my dress back on.
"What the hell were you doing fucking Haywood, the guy is a dick. I can't believe that you would do this on a day like today!" she shouted back at me, "You are meant to be pure for the man you are engaged to." Now I snorted, nobody told me that and I doubt that my own sister had kept her word until she was married.
"You, a virgin until you got married, unlikely." I scoffed looking at her.
"I'll have you know I was. Look I get you don't really believe in this pureblood way but it is disrespectful to the man. I was a virgin, yeah I had boyfriends but I never did anything with them. I can't believe that you would do something like this, something to defy mother and father. I thought you had accepted what was coming." She spoke sadly, she was ashamed that I had basically disrespected my whole family.
"Well I hate to break it to you but I am not you, I don't believe in all this bullshit. Hello I lost my virginity a while back. Nobody told me about that stupid idiotic rule, so how was I to know. Not that I would have followed it. Look I am sorry, but you and I are not the same. You have a sort of pureblood mentality, I don't. I don't give a fuck about it, all blood is the same. Look I promised mother and father that I would behave and I have been doing it, so this was one tiny hiccup, do they even know where I am?" I asked, looking my sister in the eye, was I sorry a little bit. My sister sat down beside me, taking one of my hands.
"Sirius told them you had gone to lie down for a bit as you felt light headed, but I sort of remembered that I had last seen you with Haywood. I put two and two together. Anyway what I am actually here for is to tell you that you need to go to your room now, the engagement will be announced soon, wait there and mum and dad will get you." She kissed my forehead before helping me up, "They only want what is best for you." We walked together until we reached my room. Acantha smiled at me, opening the door. As I was closing it she stopped it for a minute, "Believe me, mother and father chose a good man for you, he is very good." before she closed the door the rest of the way.
I walked over to my bed waiting for the arrival of Sirius until he appeared out from under the invisibility cloak, making me jump a little. He smiled at me, putting a finger to his lips as he heard footsteps approaching the door, before disappearing under the cloak again. My Mother and father walked into the room, my mother rushing to my side, "Sweetheart are you ok, Sirius told us that you felt a bit feint and went to go lie down for a few?" She asked, placing her hand on my cheek. "I felt a little weak, I'm sorry I should have eaten. I'm sorry for making you worry." I leaned into her hand. My mother helped me stand up and we walked to the room where I would wait for my fiancé, all the while Sirius followed behind.
They both kissed my cheek and left me in the room. The moment they were out, Sirius removed the cloak and got started on the spells for the floo network, this was not the time for me to start freaking out, and yet I was. It had begun to hit me, what if my family disowned me. I wouldn't be able to deal with that, because despite this I did love them. As I paced the room I heard footsteps approaching the room I rushed to Sirius side, "Hurry up." I hissed. "Two seconds" he replied.
Isa we are about to come in, I shut my eyes trying to stall them. "Just a second, I just need to fix my hair" I was panicking. Soon my mother began to knock loudly on the door, however it stopped as one of the muffled voices began to ask them something. Sirius stood up, finished with the spells, and looked at me, "Good luck Dora, see you in school." Sirius smiled at me, no trademark smirk, just a simple smile.
"Yeah see you, thank you so much. I love you Sirius, don't forget that. I don't think anybody else's friend would do this for them, so for that I am entirely grateful." I placed a small kiss on his lips before grabbing a handful of floo powder and going. Just as I left my family burst through the door, all eyes on Sirius.
"Where is she?!" My father shouted at Sirius. "Honestly, I don't know, she never told me. All I had to do was shut down the floo network, I promise." he replied. My father began to scream profanities, as my mother began to apologize to the parents of the boy.
That was when Sirius looked over to where my fiancé was standing. His eyes widened in horror.
"Oliver?" Sirius asked in shock, he felt like he should have known, "Thank you Sirius, I love Isadora, but at the same time I didn't want this engagement party of sorts. I didn't want to force her into loving me, I wanted it to be of her own accord." Oliver replied before he more understanding parents ushered the two boys out of the room.
