Okay, here's chapter 10.
Disclaimer: I do not own Dawn's pink pokedex.
May flipped the next page of the magazine. She heard a phone ring, and she looked for where it came from. Next to her on the ground was Drew's cell phone, and unconsciously, May picked it up. "Hello?" she said.
"Isn't this Drew's number?" the person on the other line said.
May gasped. "Oh!" she said. "I'm so sorry. I answered without thinking."
"Damn right you did," mumbled the unknown caller. May made a face at the caller.
"Drew!" she called.
He walked out of his room. "What?" he said. "Is that my phone?"
May nodded, embarrassed. "I accidentally picked it up..." she said, loud enough so he could here. He chuckled and walked down the stairs, taking his cell phone from her.
"Thanks," Drew said. She gave him a small nod and continued to read her magazine uncomfortably. "Hello? This is Drew."
"Drew, why was that woman picking up your phone?"
Drew flinched. It was Alexis. "It was an accident," he said. "We both have iPhones, so it's natural for her to pick it up, right?" There were grumbling noises on the other line. He sighed. "Anyways, what do you need, Alexis?"
"What, I can't call you?" she said.
"I never said that, did I?" Drew questioned back. May glanced at him. He noticed and quickly he walked to the couch across from her and took a seat. "What, Alexis? I was working."
"Do you wanna hear the official dates for our wedding?" Alexis said. "It's all been decided, and you're the first to hear."
"Sure, sure," Drew said, uninterested. He went to the notes section of his phone while Alexis was on speaker.
"The ceremony is on Saturday, July seventh, at noon," she said. "I decided to put the wedding at Humilau because I'm visiting there anyways."
"Okay..." he said. "Wait, what? You're coming to Humilau? Our wedding's at Humilau? Why?"
"So all your friends there can come too," Alexis said. "Just kidding. I'm from the Unova region, so all my family and friends are there. Since you're already at Humilau, and my designer and makeup artists are at Humilau, too, I decided to just have it there. Any complaints?"
Drew sighed. "I'm good. And what was the part about you visiting?"
"I'm coming next Tuesday," Alexis chimed. "Aren't you happy?"
"Very," he grumbled. "You can't stay at May's house though, she has no room. My room isn't a double bed, so you'll have to find your own place."
"Won't you leave her house and stay with me though?" she asked.
May bit her lip at the question. Of course he'd leave, they're engaged after all. She knew he was looking at her, but she didn't return the look. Instead, she stood up and left the living room.
"I don't know, Alex," Drew said. "I've already made myself comfortable, and the room she's prepared is nice to work at. If I work at a hotel with you always there, I might not be able to concentrate."
"What?" she exclaimed, shocked.
"I still love you," Drew said. "I really need to continue working, Alex. Bye." He ended the call and turned his phone on power off. Geez she's so...
"Drew," May said, walking to him. "You can go. I know you want to help me and all, but I'm okay, really."
"I just wanted to hang out with you a little longer," he admitted.
May was surprised. At the same time, she was a little bit irritated. Don't say things I'll misunderstand. "Um," she said awkwardly. "Alright. I'm going to take Taylor out to Dawn's house for a play-date, so you'll have the house to yourself."
Drew nodded. "Yeah," he said. "Thank you."
May took her leave.
"Hey Drew, I'm going to where Misty is, okay? See you later."
"Wait."
"Hey, let go of my hand, Drew!"
"No. Stay with me longer."
Unconsciously, Drew grabbed May's hand. "Wait," he said.
May jerked around, shocked.
Drew, on the other hand, was also overwhelmed with his actions.
"Yes, Drew?" she stuttered out a few seconds later. "What?"
"Um," he said. He frowned. What am I doing? "Nothing. Sorry." He let go of her hand and left the room.
Who was that?

"Yes, the whole restaurant," Ash said into the phone.
Misty walked up to him and frowned. "Whole restaurant?"
Ash jumped at her voice. "Yeah," he said. "Thank you." He hung up and stuffed his phone in is pocket messily. "Uh, hey Mist. What's up?"
She narrowed her eyes. "What were you talking about? A whole restaurant?"
"Oh that?" Ash said awkwardly. He was thinking of a lie, a good lie, a perfect lie, to tell to Misty. Misty could easily tell lies, especially when she's suspicious of something. Misty crossed her arms and tapped her foot against the floor impatiently. "Um..." Misty raised an eyebrow at his stuttering. "I was asking if the whole restaurant had CCTV cameras! Because if they didn't have any, it'd be unsafe, so I wouldn't want to take you there."
Misty knew he was lying. He probably has a reason to lie, she thought to herself. "Okay..." Misty said. "And Ash, did you touch the safe under the bed?"
"I didn't touch yours," Ash said. "I opened mine."
The redhead frowned. "Why?"
Ash was panicking inside. Somehow he did his best to hide it. Ash frowned at Misty. "What's wrong, Mist?" he asked. "Are you thinking I'm doing something wrong?"
Misty blinked at Ash's sudden seriousness. "Um, no," she said. "Sorry, Ash." She turned and walked to their room.
Ash sighed in relief. "Thank God," he said.
Behind the closed doors, Misty was already dialing Leaf's number. She heard the other line pick up. "Leaf?" Misty yelled. "Something's wrong. I think—" Misty frowned. There was no response. "Hello? Leaf?"
"This is Gary."
Misty blinked. "Okay, pass the phone to Leaf, please."
"No," he said.
"What?"
"Leaf and I are on vacation, a lovey-dovey one to be exact, and I don't want anyone contacting her!" Gary hung up.
"What the hell," Misty muttered. She dialed Dawn's number. It rang once. Twice. Three times. Finally, Dawn picked up. "Dawn?"
"Hey Mist," Dawn said. "What's up?"
"I don't know, but something's wrong," Misty said.
On the other line, Dawn was frowning. "Um, what?" she said. "What are you talking about?"
"Ash is hiding something," the redhead whispered. "He put something in his safe and he won't tell me what it is. Also, he was on the phone, talking about the whole restaurant. See? Ash is hiding something!"
Misty waited for Dawn to tell her what Ash was thinking, but instead, she just giggled.
"Dawn?" Misty said. "What's so funny?"
"You're funny," Dawn said. "He has a reason for hiding it. It's a good reason."
Misty frowned. "What?"
Dawn giggled again. "I'm not telling! Figure it out yourself... or just wait for Ash to tell you."
"What are you..." Misty trailed off. A whole restaurant... hiding something in his safe... Misty winced at the too many thoughts in her head. She sighed loudly. "Dawn, just tell me what you're thinking."
"No," Dawn said, still having her giggle fits. "I'll just tell you this: Misty, you're a lucky woman."
"Dawn, if you don't tell me—" Misty couldn't finish. She heard Dawn hang up. Misty, who's face matched her hair color, threw her phone across the room.

Once Dawn hung up, she was smiling widely. "Misty, you lucky duck," she said. "Looks like you'll be a married woman no time soon."
"Mommy?"
Dawn looked down and saw her daughter tugging at her shirt. Dawn crouched down to her level. "Yes, Charlotte?" she said. "Charlotte, remember, when mommy is on the phone, you can't talk unless it's really, really important. Understand?"
Charlotte nodded. "Okay. I don't know if this is important though."
"What?"
"I was washing my hands but I turned the water on too fast," Charlotte said. "My shirt is wet."
Dawn gasped. "What about the bathroom? Is it wet, too?"
Charlotte nodded. "The sink and floor and carpet is wet."
The blunette sighed loudly. "Okay, go change your clothes. You can do it without mommy's help, right?" Charlotte nodded and ran off to change her clothes.
As Dawn was about to leave, her cell phone was ringing again. She checked the caller ID: Ash Ketchum. "Wow," Dawn said. "First Misty, then Ash." She answered the call and set her phone against her ear. "Hello?"
"Dawn?"
"Hey Ash," she said. "I heard you're proposing. I see you're finally a man." Dawn heard Ash panicking a saying words like 'how did she know?' "Don't worry. Misty didn't tell me. You have no idea." Dawn walked over to the sink and poured herself a glass of water. She started drinking it, but then—
"Did Paul tell you?"
Dawn coughed, choking on the water. "Hello? Dawn? I'm sorry!"
With her other hand, she started hitting chest lightly. "Uh, no, it's okay," she said. "I was just surprised you'd ask that..." Dawn frowned. "Ash! Why would you ask that?"
"Sorry," Ash said again. "It's because... anyways, I'm calling to apologize..."
Dawn's frown deepened. "Why?"
"Um..." Ash said. "The other day, I was buying the r—yeah, you know. And I ran into Paul."
"Wow, what a stalker," Dawn said.
"I know," he agreed. "But that's not why I called."
"I don't really care if you ran into him," Dawn said. She stopped. "What. No. Did you tell him my address?"
"No, nothing like that," Ash said. "Kind of."
Dawn narrowed her eyes. "Ash. Spill it."
"I kind of told him what kindergarten Charlotte goes to..."
Dawn groaned and slapped her forehead. "Ash! Why the hell would you do that?"
"I'm sorry!" Ash said. "I was just so pissed at him! He thought you were playing around with men, so I was checking if he was looking for you."
"He thought I was playing around with men?" Dawn repeated, the volume of her voice getting higher and higher. "I am going to kill that plum head the next time I see him." Dawn stopped. "Wait. Just kidding. It's not like I'll ever see him."
Ash sighed. "Dawn. Paul's frustrated too, you know. He has no idea why you left. I don't even understand why you're angry at him."
"Don't worry," Dawn said, her cheerfulness was clearly sarcastic. "I wasn't mad until you told me he thought I was a slut."
"He didn't say you were a slut," Ash said.
"Women who play around with men are sluts," Dawn stated. "If he thought I was doing that, he clearly thinks I'm a slut."
"Okay, stop saying that word," he said. "Charlotte goes to Ino Rose Kindergarten, right?"
"Wow, you weren't even sure but you told him anyways?" Dawn said. Ash didn't say anything and Dawn sighed again. "Yes, she does. Good job."
Ash sighed too. "Dawn! I'm so sorry! I'll do anything!"
Dawn sighed again. There were so many sighs, but neither of them cared. "Whatever. It doesn't matter."
"I'm reeeeaally sorry, Dawn."
"Okay, I guess you can do one thing for me," Dawn said.
"I'll do it. What?"
"Make sure your proposal to Misty is a success, okay?" she said. "Make sure it's sweet. It's obvious Misty won't reject you, but just make it wonderful, okay? Make is so she cries, okay?"
"It's kind of hard to get her moved, but I'll try."
Dawn shook her head. "No, you won't try, you'll do it. Make it so she's bawling."
There was a pause. "Dawn, you're kind of scary," Ash said.
"I know," Dawn said, laughing evilly sarcastically. "I'm gonna go. I have to make a phone call."
"Alright," he said. "Again, I'm sorry, Dawn."
"It's fine," she said. "He probably forgot the name."
They both hung up and Dawn sighed again. She set her phone on the kitchen counter and crouched down to the floor, her head against her knees."What do I do?" she whispered to herself. "He's gonna find me now."
"Mommy? Are you okay?"
Dawn looked up and saw her purple-haired daughter. Dawn smiled. "Yeah," she said. "I'm just tired from work." She looked at the attire Charlotte chose. "Why are you in your pajamas?"
Charlotte tilted her head. "It's already night. Shouldn't I sleep soon?"
Dawn looked at the clock and gasped. It read half an hour past eight. "Yeah," Dawn said. "Let's go brush your teeth and I'll tuck you in bed." Dawn paused. "Wait, do you want a snack?"
She shook her head. "It's okay. Let's hurry and sleep, mom."
The two shared the same bedroom and the same bed. They walked to the bathroom and Ash's voice crept into Dawn's head.
I kind of told him what kindergarten Charlotte goes to...
Dawn sighed at the thought. Charlotte plopped the toothbrush in her mouth and looked at her mom through the mirror. "Whas wong, ma?" She failed to say the words because of the toothbrush. Dawn laughed.
"Nothing," she said. "Don't worry."

That Night
May opened her laptop to the news. She stared at the first few most popular recent news.
The Reason Why Dawn Berlitz Canceled Her Performances: Dawn Has a Daughter
She frowned. "They're still talking about this?" May said to herself. "Dawn should hurry up and explain..."
She kept scrolling down the website.
Leaf Green and Gary Oak Go to the Hoenn Region for a Hot Springs Vacation!
May laughed and clicked on the news, hoping to see funny but yet cute pictures.
"What's so funny?"
May didn't turn around. She knew it was Drew. "Look," she said, pointing at her laptop screen. "Look how lovey-dovey the two care."
Drew peeked over May's shoulder and smirked. "They look happy."
May froze. She bit her lip. Drew had his chin two inches above her shoulder. She could feel is breath...
May blushed. What am I thinking? May inched away from the green-haired man.
She heard her cell phone rang and she sighed, relieved. Thank God. I love whoever the caller is. May stood up and walked away from Drew, and she could feel her heard calming down.
May checked the caller ID: Dawn Berlitz.
"Hello?" May said. "Dawn, the news about you having a daughter is still being discussed. Aren't you going to spill it?"
Dawn sighed. "May, I've been sighing too much lately. Let's go shopping."
"What's wrong?" May asked. Usually Dawn only asked to go shopping if she needs something or if something's gone totally wrong and she needed something to get her mind off it. "Tell me. Spill it."
"Ash, that bastard," Dawn said.
May giggled. "Why? What about him?"
"He ran into Paul," she said.
May frowned. "Why does that make Ash the bastard?"
"Ash told him what kindergarten Charlotte and Taylor goes to!" Dawn exclaimed. "I know he's gonna come. What do I do?"
"Is Ash stupid?" May asked.
"Exactly what my thoughts are," Dawn agreed.
May sighed. "I understand why you've been sighing a lot lately. When did Ash tell him?"
"Like yesterday," Dawn said. "Since the kindergarten was closed today, I know he'll be going tomorrow. I know it."
"Let me guess," the brunette said. "Do you want me to pick Charlotte up today?"
Dawn thought for a moment. "Wow! That idea never crossed my mind. May, you're a genius!"
"You seriously didn't think of that?" May asked. "Wow. I'll keep Charlotte at my house until you're done with work. I take that you're leaving work late tomorrow again, right?"
"Wow," Dawn said again. "You really are a genius. How'd you know?"
"You're designing dresses for three weddings and two parties," May said. "How can you not be busy? You even canceled your tour."
"I'm so busy now, I don't even have time to breath," Dawn said. "I should go. Thanks a lot May. I love you!"
May smiled. "Bye Dawn." She hung up and set her cell phone down.
Drew walked in and opened the cupboard. "What's wrong?" he asked. "Sounded like Dawn was having some troubles."
She nodded. "Yeah. It's a girl thing."
He raised an eyebrow and opened the fridge for some juice. "Really?" he said. May nodded. "Alright then. So her daughter is coming over tonight..."
May stared at him. "What about it?"
Drew smirked. "Make sure her daughter doesn't come over on Friday, okay?"
She felt her face heat up. "R-right," May stuttered.
May watched him walk away and she put both hands on her cheeks.
"How hot can my face get?" she whispered.
Damn you, Drew.
