Chapter 9

Meiou Setsuna blinks as she looks at the notation on Ishida Serena's file, that she was not to see her at all, by order or her personal counselor. It wasn't uncommon for children whom already were seeking counseling to not want to deal with someone they didn't know or trust. Little did the green haired senshi in civilian form know that it was due to who she was. If things went right then Serena would never even been seen by Setsuna, even from a distance.

The middle Ishida along with her older brother are going for their morning jog and are joined by Davis and Tai, " I can't believe she got you to do this, Matt. Serena, how'd you manage it? "

" Bucket of ice cold water south of the border. " Serena answers as Davis manages to up his pace and keep pace with her then. Maybe he'd have to join track to stay in shape for soccer. It was worth thinking about anyhow.

Tai winces, " She's a sadist, she has to be. "

Davis and Serena smirk at this comment of Tai's. He had no clue how right he was with that comment. Well, she wouldn't call herself a sadist she was only slightly vindictive when the occasion called for it. As they keep up with their jog Serena allows her thoughts to wander, Matt and Tai were having their own conversation while she and Davis were content to be silent. Why were the Outers cropping up now? Just how much more careful would she have to be, as there was no way she'd be able to face them just yet.

As Davis and Serena start their return trip they pick up the pace a little more, Davis was thinking on the fact that Ken had managed to erect twenty towers in the time they had been gone from Digiworld, " We have to find a way to turn this war to our favor. He erected twenty more since we've been gone at last check. "

" Well, we now know that the old models can outright destroy the rings and Techie is working on a way to reprogram the rings or jam the frequency. " Serena replies.

" We seriously need to learn another language so we can talk freely. " Davis mutters.

" Which one ya want, Dai, I'm Omni lingual, part of my unique heritage. " Serena murmurs.

Davis thinks this over carefully, " Italian. "

Serena nods and with a snap of her fingers Davis suddenly has a complete working knowledge of Italian, " Nizza, questo sarà utile( Nice, this will be helpful). " Davis murmurs.

While they carry on a conversation in Italian now Matt and Tai were starting to catch up and they blink, wondering when those two had learned Italian. Though Matt wondered if it had something to do with his little sister being Sailor Moon. Davis and Tai end up breaking off from the Ishida siblings so they could go home and clean up, " Matt, be ready to go, we have more Control Spires to destroy. " Serena says as they take the stairs up to their floor. The siblings pause when they hear a feminine voice coming from their home.

" Damn, it's mom. " Matt curses softly.

Serena groans at this, she really didn't want to meet Takaishi Nancy now. Squaring herself she marches right in and heads for the shower. She had a war to win and she couldn't be bothered with this stuff right now. Once she was done with her shower and changed she heads straight into the Digital World after checking her map. She headed for the worst area, armor digivolves her partner and they start taking the areas back one by one. There was no way in hell she was going to allow Kenny boy to get a stronghold in any one region.

Matt curses to himself when he realizes his little sister had already headed into Digiworld, wanting to get a jump start on her day. Plus, she'd be able to eat there as well. " Hey, mom. " Matt says.

" Where's your sister, I finally had time to meet her. "

" She's a new digidestined and is taking her responsibility seriously, Mom. She's probably already in Digiworld destroying Control Spires as we speak. " Matt says, deciding to tell her the truth.

" Nancy, you cannot stand in their way nor can you tell the other parents. If this is anything like last time then the battles will end up in our world soon enough. We have to trust our kids. " Hiroaki says.

Nancy sighs at this, she didn't like her children having to fight but she wouldn't stand in their way either. TK had changed so much after the last time, but then again, they had been fighting a war, where the consequences were very real.

At the Motomiya home Davis just finishes getting dressed from taking his shower when Jun slams him into the counter of the bathroom, " Serena isn't here to save you this time, Davis. Now, you will start treating me with the proper respect or things will get worse on you. "

Davis snorts at this, " Yeah right, Jun, respect is earned not given and you have yet to earn mine, now back the fuck off as Serena is expecting to hear from me and if she doesn't… well, I wouldn't want to be you if she doesn't. "

Jun backhands him for this and then slams his head into the counter, her grin quite malicious as Davis starts seeing stars. He lashes out blindly and hears his fist connect with flesh. He scrambles to his bedroom, grabs his D-Terminal, D-3, and Demiveemon before opening the Digiport and escaping. Veemon looks at his partner in concern, " Davish, are you all right? "

" Send a message to Serena with the D-Terminal. I'd do it myself but I can't see straight. Fucking Jun, she just had to get bitchy today, didn't she? " Davis mutters, leaning back against a tree, he wasn't too steady on his feet right now.

Thirty minutes later a touch he knew very well startles him, " Dai, what the hell did she do? "

" Slammed me into the counter, backhanded me, and then slammed my head into the counter. She cornered me in the bathroom. " Davis answers.

" Well, at least your short term memory is still good, Dai. " Serena murmurs as she runs her hands over him gently, checking him out for injuries. So far he only had the bleeding lump on his forehead other than some bruises.

She sighs, " You need to rest, Dai. "

" I can't exactly fucking do that at home, now can I? " Davis asks her snarkily.

" Well, now we know you're like me when I'm in pain, you get bitchy. Dai, where can you go? "

" Nowhere, Mom and Dad never believe me about Jun and I never have any proof that she did it. " Davis tells her.

Serena curses at this, if she could get to the Time Gates she could get that proof, but that would mean revealing herself to Setsuna. " We need to clean this wound, Dai, Juéxīnmon, stay alert. Veemon, you too, I don't know if Dai will be able to support a armor digivolution right now or not. "

Both digimon nod at this and Serena leads him to a stream where she can clean his wound and treat it. She curses again, " Dai, bad news, you're going to need stitches. "

" Son of a bitch, I am going to kill Jun. " Davis mutters.

" I can temporarily bandage it, but you will need to go to a hospital. " Serena says.

" I can't. " Davis says wearily.

" Why the hell not, Dai? "

Davis groans, " Mizuno Ami is interning at Odaiba General right now. "

Serena curses again at this, " Davis, Serena, move! " Juéxīnmon calls out just in time for the attack to slam into the ground in front of them. Serena taking the brunt of the attack, a sharp piece of rock had nearly sliced her left arm off. The reincarnated Moon Princess whimpers and Davis curses even as he tears off enough of his shirt to realign her arm and tie it up, he used the rest of his shirt to fashion a sling.

Juéxīnmon tears into the 'mon whom had dared to attack her partner while she was taking care of the injury of a friend. Serena grits her teeth and calls out Saturn's spirit, " Hota-chan, heal Dai, quickly, not even you can heal my arm enough but if you can heal him we can get out of this. "

Sailor Saturn nods and sets to work, healing Davis' laceration on his head, then she does some work on Serena's arm before she has to retreat to her star seed again, " Digi Armor Energize! " Davis shouts it out, even as he sends an S.O.S to the others.

Hopefully Izzy would be able to direct someone their way, " Need sugary goodness, healing needs to jump start. " Serena murmurs, her Crest was glowing a deep, vibrant amethyst. She would not die here.

Davis adds that to his message and hits send. He just hoped that they got help soon enough as their position was not easily defendable.

Real World, Izumi Residence:

Izzy curses up a storm when he reads Davis' message, " Mom, I need your most decadent dessert, now! "

Kae Izumi blinks when she hears that shout, she had been told what was going on and Izzy had told her about Serena as well. Kae packs up her three most decadent cakes and has them all cut into pieces along with a plate and a fork. Izzy takes them off of her immediately even as Kari comes crashing out of his computer. Izzy types in the coordinates and looks to Kari, " Serena and Davis are in trouble and Serena's nearly had her left arm amputated due to sharp rock shrapnel from an attack that hit the ground right in front of her and Davis. She's requested sugary food to jump start her capability to heal. "

" Those are the coordinates, right? " Kari asks him.

Izzy nods and away they go, thankfully they land properly when going into the Digital World. " Tentomon digivolve to… Kabuterimon. Kabuterimon digivolve to… MegaKabuterimon. "

" Gatomon digivolve to… Angewomon. "

The digimon fly ahead and help the armor digimon with their opponent, which with their luck happened to be an IceDevimon. " Celestial Arrow! "

" Horn Buster! "

" Meteor Kick! "

" Fire Rocket! "

Izzy and Kari get to their fellow digidestines and Izzy starts feeding the cake to Serena which she eats at an alarming rate though they all noticed the bleeding was starting to slow the more she ate the cake. She finishes all three just to get her arm healed and replenish her magical strength. " Wild Scratcher! "

" Holy Air! "

" Comet Punch! "

" Flame Fist! "

IceDevimon finally goes down and Serena is leaning heavily against Davis, three highly decadent cakes and she still needed more sugar for her powers. All four evacuate and head for the Izumi home where Serena descends upon the kitchen like a shark to prey. She needed more sugary goodness and fast. Davis watches her out of the corner of his eye, making sure she was alright. " I can't believe she healed that fast with just sugar. " Kari says.

" Sugar energy gets converted into magic energy which is needed to keep my healing at its peak efficiency. " Serena states, having heard Kari's comment. Matt, Tai, TK, and partners descend upon the Izumi apartment.

" Serena, are you all right? " Matt asks.

" Chill, near amputation already healed. " Serena says.

Thankfully all of her clothes were spelled to keep looking pristine. Davis stands up tall, " Get to work, we have more spires to take down. Tai, you're in charge. Serena and I will be staying here for a while. I just need to call my mom and tell her I'm hanging out with Serena, which is true. "

Tai nods and they all set to work. Tai knew what Davis did, they couldn't afford to let up on the spire destruction for one second. Thankfully the first and second in command for the second generation team had their homework done so they just curled up on the couch and watched some TV until they both fell asleep. Kae giggles softly and Izzy sticks his head out, curious to what had his mother amused and he smiles, though motions for her to not take a picture of the scene before them. Davis had his arms wrapped around Serena while her head was cradled on his chest and her hands wrapped around his right arm as she was leaning against his left side.

The fact that Serena was comfortable enough with Davis to even fall asleep like that was astounding, the intimacy of the moment was not lost on mother or son. Izzy also didn't miss how Davis had his D-3 within easy reach or how Davis' grip tightened ever so slightly when a small whimper escapes Serena. That act alone was enough to comfort the sleeping girl and send her back into a peaceful dream.
