Chapter 10 Cult Leader

Nightwatcher tried to remain on guard as the bad feeling he had would not go away, he told Kira first but didn't get the chance to tell Sonic who he knew was preferable. Richard first led them all to the Steel Mill first and as he went into the entrance he looked around, "Be cautious, but not of the cult...of me." he said threateningly as he stood with an arm raised and Nightwatcher's suspicious were confirmed.

Sonic and Tails looked upon Richard in shock, "What?" while Nightwatcher looked at Richard with anger and a look of betrayal, "Richard what are you doing?"

Richard simply smiled, "What I should have done long ago, my old...friend." he said as he thrust he hand downward and they all were blasted backward and in that moment several men and beastamorphs all wearing dark robes swarmed them.

Each of them fought the cult members but they were much different than Circe's minions as these were elite and much stronger than most of her allies it was very difficult to deal with them, it stopped when Richard blasted them all once again with a large beam which knocked them unconscious.

Later

They woke up minutes later in the same place but each was tied down, Nightwatcher looked up at Richard who was clearly the leader of the cult as he wore ceremonial cult robes and with venom in his voice Nightwatcher shouted, "Traitor!: he yelled while Sonic asked, "Why would you do this?"

"Because I can and you know, Nightwatcher was right there is a new leader to the cult. It's me, but there is more to this little tale. You see a long time ago I never left the town on the night of Brian's parents deaths. My father staged it all into people thinking he committed the crime leading them to his house, I helped framed Nightwatcher here with the intention of killing them all but he survived and I searched and searched for him until I found out he was the hero Nightwatcher. But he was in Switzerland so I tried some things that would prepare me for a fight." he began as he paced and Nightwatcher screamed as he realized what he had done and what he meant, "Your father did that?! John deserved everything he got!"

Tails was scared because if Richard was the leader it also meant he was the one who left him for dead and he was the hooded figure. "So I entrusted Poison Ivy to cause problems for you hedgehog but when she failed I knew it would draw attention and Batman would call Nightwatcher and his little girlfriend here back to Gotham. So I had Circe become queen with the emeralds while I created my own creation of darkness which was my plan with her all along. Chip saw me but didn't know it was me while I created this." he showed a jet black Chaos Emerald and the evil dark energy was very much present when he revealed it. Nightwatcher looked shocked, "Impossible...how did you do this?"

"Oh Brian, you stupid naive hero. tonight I'm about to get even with you because you've already taken something from me now I'm going to return the favor, by taking your partner." With that he left and took a struggling Kira with him, leaving Nightwatcher with demanding she be returned.
